have released this security camera video from a shopping mall in brooklyn. it shows ismaalyl brinsley before the shootings happened. he appears as you can see to be on the phone. he is also carrying a white styrofoam box that cops believe contain the gun he used in those murders. they hope that that distinctive varsity jacket he's wearing might prompt some memories on behalf of the public because they need to fill in a missing two and a half hour gap in his movements right before the shootings. >> thank you very much. the mayor of new york city, bill de blasio, who ran on an anti-cop platform, yesterday hat a press conference alongside commissioner bratton and a lot of people thought this is his opportunity to say i was inappropriate. he did not. he called on all sides -- police union and his own

side -- to ratchet it down and cool it until after the officers are buried. >> he almost couldn't help himself. he started off talking about peace, which is late to the game on that. then he went on to blame actually media for actually provoking this environment which then resulted in violence. we're not kidding. take a listen. >> the vast majority of our citizens are good and decent people who do not say negative things, racist things, nasty things to police, threatening things to police. the few who want conflict attempt that. and unfortunately so many times you guys enable that. i don't see reports on the many decent, good people. i don't see reports on the everyday cops who do the exemplary things and hold the line and show restraint and discipline no matter what invective is hurled at them. it is immoral, wrong, nasty, negative. they should not do that. >> is he saying the media is making cops look bad? >> not those who stop the

bridges, not those who -- >> we're bad because we're highlighting the people who chanted through the streets, what do we want? dead cops. he said that protest was peaceful even though the youtube shows there were people out there denouncing the cops. he said that did not exist. it all started when one of the reporters said would you be comfortable if one of your kids chanted that the nypd was racist? and he said of course not. then that led to that red-faced confrontation with the reporter. >> you guys are the problem. you're the issue. really? when a cop gets screamed at in their face, when somebody gets hit by a garbage can, somebody gets assaulted or a hand comes through a crowd and hits a cop -- >> which he says was alleged. >> and you have horrendous chants that shouldn't be covered. he could also be outraged at the media by saying you're showing too much of eric garner.

it makes it sound like every black person is getting beat up by a white cop. the reason why the cops turned their back on him, the reason why the cops don't like him and want to have a petition not to appear at their funeral should they be shot and killed on the job is because he does not respect them. he should have used that opportunity yesterday to make it clear i think i've been misinterpreted. i'm kind of new at the job. i think cops are people, they do a tremendous job. we have incidents we need to handle. >> he had that opportunity. he had privilege to be able to speak to the city with the greatest police force in the world; okay? and his first chance of doing it sounded like this, where he labeled police as the problem.

it tells the story of how al sharpton became part of the nbc family. they didn't want minority groups to oppose the buy, they spread around millions of dollars, and in fact eventually as is detailed in this article al sharp top's group got hundreds of thousands of dollars and he got a job on msnbc, and he did not then object to the merger. in fact, he endorsed it. >> you're saying essentially this article goes by step by step through the process that his lobbying led to a job and now his job is there. and really now pays for these appearances. who stands to benefit from the pain of what's going on right now? every time there is a problem that's ruffled up, al sharpton gives a speech and does he get paid for that? probably. >> comcast said the reason he got a job was they have -- quote -- "they are a

quick headlines now. the fate of army sergeant bowe bergdahl is in the hands of a four star general. the army will decide if bergdahl will face court-martial after investigation into his disappearance. bergdahl left his post in afghanistan in 2009, was captured by the taliban. despite the united states releasing cuban spies they are saying they have the right to grant asylum to u.s. fugitives. that includes joanne chesimard convicted in the 1973 murder of a new jersey trooper. she has been freely living in cuba since escaping prison. the island nation saying they have no extradition treaty with the united states. let's just go grab her. >> the holidays aren't always full of joy and cheer.

>> that hurt. sometimes an unexpected trip to the doctor is necessary. here now with the top health issues during the christmas season, fox news medical a team dr. david samadi is here to the rescue. what do you see the most this time of year and what should we have our eye on? >> obviously the accident that you've just shown is one of the examples we see all the time. this is the time everyone is working on their decorations and you want to make sure you don't do what just happened. make sure you always have a buddy watching you, holding that ladder, making sure they're handing you everything. we see a lot of these accidents coming into the emergency this time of year but the biggest thing is people complaining of chest pain. chest pain is a big red flag for us because we're thinking of heart attack

but a lot of this has to do with overeating because this is the holiday season. you have all the food, cake, alcohol, et cetera. all of those causes what we call acid reflux because the stomach gets distended, acid goes up and it can present the same exact way as heart attack. so they come in. basically it is just overeating. what i tell a lot of people is drink a lot of water before you go out to your parties. that fills up your stomach. you're not going to be as hungry. also making sure that you just take some time between your second round of food and small portions, small pieces and take your time. >> if you try to treat what you believe is acid reflux and not having relief, definitely go to the doctor because it could in fact be a heart attack. >> absolutely. you know what makes it worse? alcohol. we're drinking a lot of wine and alcohol. that's another reason. i'm not against alcohol during this holiday season. i think when you go out if you have two or three glasses socially it is

this. the technology has changed dramatically for police cruisers and for arch -- for arming virtually any vehicle. i want to thank our friends at madison avenue armor. if you are super wealthy and have the need for this sort of thing or putting together a swat vehicle, it's going to stop explosions and all sorts of stuff. this we don't need necessarily for every cruiser in new york city. but what would be reasonable -- because this would be pretty costly to do it. it would also make the car weigh about 800 pounds more if you did the 360-degree thing. want to talk to you about a poly carbonate. there is a laminate in brazil. 40,000 tack can i -- 40,000 taxi cabs are using it. they put the glass over existing vehicles and put a

you fire into the glass, it stops it on one side. it also is a lot thinner. it's a more intelligent glass. if you're the officer inside a car and you need to return fire, this one-way glass let's you pass the bullet out of the car and go for the target that's going after you. >> this is the third option that you bring to the table today. you think it's going to be between $12 thousand and $25 thousand for a cop car. >> i said what would it cost? let's say they did 1,000 cars, one car can run around $25,000, 360 degrees protection, putting in a rear wall, doing the floor panel and a little bit underneath. that right there, he said if you go up to a thousand cars, we're bringing it down much lower to about $12,000. i said let's do the math on that. what's the budget for potholes in one section of

we've had peaceful protests. but the line is crossed when we start calling for cops to be killed or dead cops. that's what we want. is that really what we want? then where are the voices from the leaders? when do the leaders step up in support of our police officers and say, you know what? that's not acceptable. >> sorry. what's the reaction from the police community now? seems as though their reactions or call to action are handcuffed. do they feel as though they can't anything like that a manner in which they need to to protect their communities? >> well, i can speak about detroit. we have great relationships with our communities and they feel like they can do the job that they've been sworn to do, protect and serve. i know and i've heard from my colleagues and other places, there is a lot of concern, there is a lot of frustration as commissioner bratton pointed out.

she does her extreme weather test not guilty northern canada. who needs to go there when you have a wind tunnel here in detroit, michigan. >> this facility we can actually do the testing at any time of year. here we operate 24 hours a day. day and night, we can reproduce whatever environmental condition we want. >> 50-degrees and sunny out here. and in here, there is a temperature of minus 14 degrees fahrenheit and with a 10 miles an hour wind, that means windchill temperature of minus 28 degrees. to take it to the other extreme, we head to the thermal wind tunnel where 4,000 watt light bulbs crank up the heat. the tunnels are put through 39 different tests. power train cooling, to real life road conditions. right now i'm driving at about 30 miles per hour. we have winds of 30 miles an hour and rain coming down. we're testing for visibility and

stoked the tension between the police and especially the minority community over the last several weeks. there had not been this call for calm and this attitude that oh, they're good police. i must have missed all those press conferences where he held up the police as a civil servants, frankly that they don't get paid very much. they work long hours and have sob subjected -- to be subjected to invective name calling and obviously the threat of violence. now it's very convenient for the mayor to say oh, you news immediate y wagoning his finger. you could say the news media in ferguson to some extent, they highlighted ferguson day in and day out, which may have led to the mugging for the camera and turning over the cars for the camera. i would have criticized some of the media over our coverage for that. but in this case, we have two police officers who are executed, assassination style, while they're sitting in their we're not have the guy's trail

supposed to cover this? you got to be kidding me. >> you've seen a lot of politicians before every level. this is a powerful position as mayor of new york. i've never seen somebody less equip to do handle a position like this who is so ignorant of the power of his words. he is one of the most important speeches of his life, reflecting back on what his son is going through laid the ground work for all this. >> yeah. of course, his comments that i had to have conversation with my son about the police. maybe he did, maybe he didn't. i don't know. but the implicit in his comments, throughout this entire saga with the protests and with eric garner was this idea that somehow this was racially based. that there was a racial animas involving the garner choke hold when the wife of eric garner said she didn't see any racial element at all in this. he never acknowledged that, nor did the daughter.
