i'm doug mckellway in washington. making headlines, a lab technician at the cdc is being monitored for possible exposure to ebola. the cdc reports a mix-up in samples being transferred between lab torres. the cdc director says he is troubled and that no staff risk is acceptable. it has been a peaceful day so far in berkley, missouri, after two nights of protests of an african-american man by a white suspect. authorities say the suspect pulled a gun on the officer. many people are spending their holidays seeing "the interview" which was initially dropped by sony after tlelthreaf violence former president h.w. bush is said to be doing well in washington. he was taken into the hospital after shortness of breath. now, back to the five christmas special.

this christmas, what if you had to fly somewhere far and this christmas, what if you had to fly somewhere far and had to sit next to someone who annoyed the crap out of you. expedia did a survey of the most annoying airline passenger. the top five are the boozer, the audio insensitive. >> definitely. >> the one who talks or plays their music too loud. people who stink. parents with constantly shrieking kids and the rear seat kicker, which i happen to enjoy usually downtown around 3:00 a.m. you know what really upsets me? people that bring egg salad sandwiches on a flight and complain on twitter about

annoying people. >> and do you have a problem with the egg salad or the tweet? >> you brought an egg salad sandwich on a flight. that stinks. >> they don't serve anymore. >> egg salad sandwiches not only stink, they cause behavior that leads to stinkage. >> out of all of us, i travel the most. would you agree? >> yes. i think the biggest offenders are seat back grabers. the person sitting behind you grabs their seat to get up. in their living room, do they have something in front of their recliner to pull themselves up. you don't need to grab the back of somebody's seat to get up on an airplane. >> it is special. >> you grab the seat back. it is annoying. i go he to vegas a lot. i take the red eye quite often. there should be a rule. if you take the red eye, you can't drink and be loud.

you are going to be there with 250, 300 people. >> there is a baby directly behind me. i had them, i get it. >> you had them. >> my son, when he was little. you do what you have to do. guys partying all night on a red eye. also, can i ask dana? the tsa. they are big fans of your show. >> i love them. >> i don't have tsa precheck. >> if i get precheck, i am worried it is too easy. >> well, i think they have accounted for that. when they are coming through an airport and they see me coming through. >> i'm saying, it just looks a little too. you don't have to open your bag. you walk through. you need a background check.

interesting thing about tsa precheck, a friend of mine, ross fine ste finestein who runs that. they had no marketing to tell people about tsa precheck. it has all been done by social media. this is great. >> what are you talking about, this is supposed to be about irritating people on flights? this is all about your friend that you have that works there. our social networking is excellent. i never get checked. i fly a lot. my name is dana parino. >> bob, you fly a lot or you think you do. >> i used to. i used to be one of those guys that they were talking about. i was loaded all the time. i have had two kids on planes. i admit that. it is babies running around, kids running around out of control or the worst ones are little babies that have to go to the bathroom.

there are rifle shots, there are big bombs and nuclear bombs. when you get a nuclear bomb, baby and they take it the whole length of the plane, everybody dives down for air. >> please, bob. i have to sit next to you every day. >> i beg your pardon. >> kids, kids roaming around. the people that pull the seat bags, if they do, i turn around and smack them. >> that's nice. >> what's worse, the constant single men that want to sit next to you. >> or single women z every once in a while, they buy you a drink. >> i don't mind flying, per se. i even take the middle seat. >> they don't have middle seats in first class. what are you talking about? >> if there were. i have sat middle seat, jeff lui. >> nobody has mentioned crowding at the gate. don't you hate that, the

it's the risky behavior that you participate in your 20s and 30s that will haunt you for the rest of your life. >> amen, amen. >> you know it. amen here on that one, brother. >> you don't have to participate to everything. >> so don't succumb to peer pressure. >> you seem to agree? >> i have a lot more years to look back on or from. the one thing on a serious note, if you're in your own mind and behind enemy lines, do not listen to what your mind tells you, yesterday, tomorrow. yesterday is gone. tomorrow is not here yet. you have to live in the present. when you are in there and you listen to it, it is going to probably give you bad advice. it is enemy lines. take some advice from other people or just be quiet. >> eric, you kind of have a

younger self in your son. any advice that you give him that you wish you had had yourself. >> that i wish i had had. i think the obvious stuff we have talked about here a bunch of times. you don't want to quit or let someone tell you know. you want to keep trying. you can also -- someone told me this a long time ago. i was a young kid working for mobile oil at the time. just finished and blew my shoulder out in baseball. i said, who is your boss. he said, take that guy for a cup of coffee or take him to lunch sometime and i did it. it was not on easy thing to do. the guy respected the fact that i just wanted to learn. i wasn't trying to leapfrog overboard. i was trying to become as successful as he was. it was really a great thing.

>> i can't remember seven years. there are some years i regret doing some things i have done. i can't undo them. that's the most important thing. >> look at what you are right now, a fantastic guy, on a show. you are willing to talk about some of the transgressions you had and you have moved on. >> any advice you want to give to your younger self? >> like 13 years of age? no. i would just do what i did, be friendly, be nice to people. try and give back. go to school. >> avoid mayors? until you have some

>> very good. i would tell my younger self tow use sunscreen. >> that's the best thing you could ever say. because i'm worried sick. i spent 15 to 25 in the sun. >> it shows. >> i >> i should have said that. >> i said it s. w i said it first. one more thing. ♪ ♪
