many are shae saying should he be speaking in the first place given the gap that is between the community and city hall and nypd. and yesterday we want to show you you a banner that flew along the hudson river, a grouch current and former police officers had this banner flying it said bill de blasio, our backs have turned on you. and they went all the way from the bridge up the george washington bridge up the hudson river and flew for hours. >> put about $1,000 together current and former cops i believe to do that once you have lost and it looks like the mayor has. once you have lost the support of your own police department in a city like this, it's very, very difficult to govern. he has had opportunities to say or change the tone of the way he addresses the situation over the last week. he really hasn't done it i'm not sure that he will today. >> one of those in law enforcement sergeant ed mullins the president of the sergeant's benevolent association says he is standing his back on the mayor and he stands by that. this is why. >> you look at the mayor's track record, nowhere along

the line did he ever have any kind of a background. it was on the side of law enforcement. he has always been divirve when it came to law enforcement and the community. and it's only as result of these two officers being killed is the mayor now making statements that we need to comply with lawful orders and respect our police. it hasn't been the case in the past. and as far as turning my back on the mayor along with other cops, i stand by that. i think that the mayor needs to lead and he is not doing that right now. >> he said such an important word there in terms of the mayor needs to lead. you think about this in contrast to the past two mayors. rudy giuliani, michael bloomberg who truly had the love of the nypd. we saw giuliani after 9/11 and you saw of think about the fact that you had somebody who has lost the trust of those who are in charge of keeping us all safe here. and that is a dangerous situation for public safety in the event something else really much bigger happens. >> bill de blasio has been a

fourth day. a spokesman says he remains in high spirits and is continuing to make progress. the 41st president hospitalized tuesday after experiencing a shortness of breath. former south korea governor james b. edwards has died. edwards made history back in 1974 when he became south korea's first republican governor since the reconstruction era. he also served as the energy secretary for a couple of years in the reagan administration. leland? >> all right. people getting high while carrying a loaded gun. is does that sound like a good idea to you? well, it soon could be a reality in colorado. activists there want marijuana users to be able to obtain a con/carry gun permit. this s. this the right move. fair and balanced debate in this campaign. the organize earl for the group challenging the ban. his name is edgar and the president of the colorado state shooting association tony fabian. gentlemen, thanks so much to be here. edgar, you are the one leading the charge here to

overturn this. why is it so important for somebody who uses recreational marijuana, which obviously has become legalized there in colorado. why should she also be able to carry a gun? >> you know, for us, it's about equal rights for all gun owners. this is about individual liberty and restoring that individual liberty, taking it away from the federal government and giving it back to the people of colorado. >> all right. so, tony, what is the difference here between, say, somebody who gets high on saturday night smoking some marijuana versus somebody who goes out and has a couple of beers and then has their conceal carry gun? what's the big difference here in terms of judgment? >> well, i'm not a doctor. i'm not a scientist. i'm an attorney. we're dealing from a legal standpoint here. and in colorado, we have a dichotomy in the law. there is certain amount of marijuana that people can possess legally in colorado. but under federal law, it still is illegal. and because of that dichotomy, we can't support

this type of initiative. again, our position is not so much opposition as it is lack of support. simply because the mission of the colorado state shooting association is to provide shooting opportunities for law abiding residents of colorado. of course, because of the federal ban, that runs afoul of that mission. >> edgar, i want to let you go in here on this. in terms of the question exactly how far do gun rights god in the sense that the federal government has not yet legalized marijuana and all of a sudden you are say okay, even though somebody is breaking a federal law, albeit not a state one, why should they be allowed to carry concealed weapon. if they for example have been convicted of possession of cocaine they can't get a conceal weapons permit. >> you are asking the wrong question. i think the question is why people like mr. fabian would be in favor of infringing upon that second amendment right. last time i checked the constitution it said shall not infringe.

so sony is there an argument here and say voters voted. they should be the ones who decide who does and doesn't get to carry guns in their state? >> well, it is interesting that he sights the constitution. we have that provision in the constitution called the supremacy clause. and we have a process for enacting laws. and under the supremacy clause, federal laws, when there is is a conflict or dichotomy, federal laws trump state laws. until this dichotomy in the law is resolved marijuana possession at least under federal law is still illegal and, therefore, we have a problem. the alcohol he tobacco and firearms bureau several years ago when medical marijuana was made legal in colorado, atf came out and basically said this even

christ tabernacle church in queens, new york. more than 6 auto officers from around the country flew in on free flights offered by jetblue airlines. inside the church, a heart-breaking moment as officer ramos' son said a final goodbye to his father. >> dad, i will miss you -- i will miss you with every fiber of my being. >> for my brother my heartaches right now. please pray for me as i know you are always there. >> funeral service will be held later today where vice president joe biden is among those that are going to speak. new york city mayor bill de blasio also expected to both attend the funeral and speak as well. i know as much as people will focus on that. the family going through this is really driven home when you watch the son. older two sons that officer ramos has speaking at the service yesterday. >> we do want to remember this police officer is not just a man in uniform.

is he a father of two. and a husband. and we don't want that to be diminished at all. >> a family man and a hero in so many ways. a man of faith we have heard from his pastor and from members of that church. you get a sense sort of though how this has taken on such a political meaning when you see now that there are banners flying above the city of new york talking about this case. de blasio, our backs have turned to you was paid for by former police officers, current police officers, they paid about a thousand dollars and, of course, that's a reference to the fact that at the hospital, when bill de blasio showed up after these two officers were shot, a number of the officers there in the hospital turned their backs as he walked down the hallway. it was a powerful sign of how they feel. >> and there is even a petition that's been going around from some police officers saying if i die in the line of duty, i too not want mayor bill de blasio to be attending my funeral. i mean, it's just -- check out this video. with their backs being turned there. >> that's remarkable.

and i think unprecedented in this city or really any other cities to see police officers literally turn their backs on a mayor as they did. the union official that's been getting the most attention is a guy named pat lynch in new york the head of the pba the patrolman benevolent association for years. ed mullins on the sergeant's union was i believe at the hospital that night and among those organizing that and among those who turned their back on de blasio. he doesn't back away from that he still believes that was the right thing to do. this is what he said on fox news. >> you look at the mayor's track record nowhere along the line did he ever have any kind of a background that was on the side of law enforcement. he has always been divisive when it came to law enforcement and the community. and it's only as a result of these two officers being killed is the mayor now making statements that we need to comply with lawful orders and respect our

police. it hasn't been the case in the past. and as far as turning my back on the mayor along with other cops, i stand by that. i think that the mayor needs to lead and he is not doing that right now. >> let's remember this is happening here in our backyard in new york city. nypd and what happens in america's largest city sets the tone for what goes on across the country. and this huge rift between communities and cops. and these anti-cop protesters and people taking to social media and doing all that is a lot more than just words and marching. we saw a woman in mass misthrowing pork chops at cops calling them pigs. a woman pointing a gun at cops in hollywood. there needs to be more respect for police officers. >> we have seen what's happened in st. louis and berkeley, california with looting and anger. they were throwing fire crackers at the police just a couple days ago after they shot a gun at.

narrative we heard from the administration, which is oh this was an isolated incident and it was covered up in phoenix not our fault. >> the reason she is out obviously the story here in terms of she illegally accepts these gifts. you mentioned beyonce and disney land trips and all the rest of it the question is whether the end result, the ends justify the means. if the end result is more important than the reason she was kicked out. some people say she should have been kicked out because of what she did at the v.a. o.j. simpson with the sports memorabilia or al capone with the taxes. wrong side of the story sometimes eventually it comes back to bite you in one way, shape or form. the reasons maybe the people trying to push you out has to take a different avenue which is what happened here, i think being a real embowl of the failure of the veterans affair not taking care of our heroes: you would hope that there would be some justice for that actual reason. here is what congressman jeff miller the house veterans affairs committee chairman had to say about

where vice president joe biden will speak. new york city mayor bill de blasio is expected to speak. a lot of police officers really have said that they wish bill de blasio wouldn't speak. they say this is a divided city. they have lost confidence in him. a number of officers, some retired and some current paid about $1,000 to fly this banner over new york city that's been flying around and the banner says de blasio our backs have turned to you they say it's because de blasio turned their backs on the police long before in terms of how he handled the eric garner case and how he was come out very strongly in many ways against law enforcement and pitted law enforcement rank and file cops against some of his policies visitation around funeral will be in queens. this was happening along the hudson river from the bridge up to the george washington bridge on the other side of the island to try to be respectful to the family many say it should be the

family who decides if mayor de blasio is going to speak there. a lot of police officers have very upset about it. >> yes, they are. and you mentioned turning their back on a mayor. once you are the mayor of any city, but particularly big city like, this you lose as mayor de blasio appears to lose a large part of your police department is very difficult to govern. so we will see what he says today in terms it of the tone. it's a funeral. so how much -- you certainly want to keep politics out of it ed mullins the head of the sergeant's benevolent association one who turned his back on the mayor last saturday. he spoke to fox news about that and whether he had maybe changed his mind. well, here he is. >> you look at the mayor's track record. nowhere along the line did he ever have any kind of a background. it was ons side of law enforcement. he has always been divisive when it came to law enforcement and the community. and it's only as a result of these two officers being killed is the mayor now making statements that we need to comply with lawful

orders and respect our police. it hasn't been the case in the past. and as far as turning my back on the mayor along with other cops, i stand by that. i think that the mayor needs to lead and he is not doing that right now. >> if you look at this as the glass half full hopefully can use this as a olive branch and many say it's a lose lose situation. if he didn't show up, if he didn't speak, he would be raked over of the coals, too. >> remember a couple of times that he has sponel after these presses remember he also asked for calm. he said we need to stop protesting until these officers have been laid to in terms of what's been going on the streets of no. the protesters didn't listen to him. you have to wonder how much is he going to be able to say here to actually change. this especially when you had police officers at the hospital when these officers were shot literally turn their backs as he walked out of that hospital.

>> yeah. there were protests that night after he made those comments. there will be, at least the expectation is presses today in parts of the city. even as the funeral is going on. you are absolutely right. there is probably not much he can say to change their behavior at this point. at the same time, he has had opportunities over the last week to change the tone of the way he addresses the situation. right in mayor giuliani and others have called for him to apologize to the police officers. >> he has had the opportunity. he hasn't taken it. >> i don't know if anybody expected him to apologize to it at least change the tone to say listen, i still sympathize with protesters and cause. i got your back, guys. i'm always going to be there for you. if there is anything i said that gave you impression otherwise i want to assure you that's not the case. even if he does say things similar to that his tone is not that way. >> it's a tone not just for the 8 million people who live in new york city. the ripple effects go all the way across the country with these, you know, anti-cop protesters whether they are on social media are omarching or actually threatening our men and women in uniform and

address of a police officer. that endangers not just that police officer, that endangers his family, everyone around it. her attorney claims she did not know that people were posting that link to her page. let's give her the benefit of the doubt. the fact that anybody would expose a police officer is indicative of a fact that a lot of people in our culture apparently don't understand what the police do, what sacrifices they make to be cops. they are not perfect. here is something that i point out. i dealt with death penalty cases. i had to dealt with executions. i dealt with life and death matters as a governor. i had weeks if not months to look through the files and ultimately come to a decision. i got to look at everything. you know what a cop gets a split second to make that decision in life and death. >> the one thing, governor, that was marked by your time there in arkansas is really being able to lead, to bring people together, to reach across the aisle, be it the

racial divide, the political divide. what other things like mayor de blasio speak at the funeral there is a loft controversy about that obviously his comments over the past couple of weeks have been so divisive. the police officers have so angry. is there really anything you can say bring people together rather than divide them. issue heart felt apology when he made the comment about teaching his son to be afraid of the police officers. that undermined not just one or two cops. it undermined the entirety of the new york police department which amazingly enough, is majority minority. 60% of the police officers are other than white. and it just -- it defies all common sense that a mayor would undermine his own police force and undermine the whole idea of law and order that the number one thing that a mayor, a governor, a president, anyone in executive position must do is keep order.

he said de blasio needs to take a different approach and different outlook. listen to this. >> i think he's trying, about you i also believe he's lost some control. these protesters are still out there. protesters went to the actual memorial the other day and protests continue. it's got to stop. it's got to stop. he's the person that can really stop it. >> protesters will continue today, from what we understand, in other parties of the city, even as they officers gather. >> i'm not sure how anyone can argue that is in good taste, when you have two people being laid to rest. >> and the mayor asked hem to hole on. the mayor account the police union to pull back on their rhetoric, because there is that side to it as well. they probably listened a bit better. we haven't heard as much from, say, pat lynch, after we did the night of the murders which he

came out and suggested the mayor may have blood on his hands. the protesters haven't listened as much, but this is, as we said earlier, some scene when all these officer get together. >> as far as that banner go es that flew yesterday. we asked governor huckabee about it, and he said no, but doing something so public on the day of the visitation was not the time. they need to have some peacemaking if they can. >> i think it's important to look back at the history of turning the backs on you and the whole idea. it comes from the moments after officer ramos was shot. he was at the hoop. there was hundreds of police

officers who showed up at the hospital, and as mayor de blasio walked out of the hospital, the officers who are lining the hallways there with their friends obviously in very bad shape turned their backs on the mayors, because they were so angry. it goes sort of to the issue of leadership here. bill de blasio is the mayor, but who is everyone in the city taking their cues from. there was no question after 9/11 it was rudy giuliani, and to a certain extent michael bloomberg had that as well. >> the only thing helping the mayor is commissioner bill bratton, who still has the respect of the force. he's also served in los angeles and boston, but he as been respected by the rank and file for many years.

>> here's why all of this matters, too. all of you at home know that the repercussions, the ripple effect that affects you and the tone between the community and the cops. we saw in hollywood yesterday, a woman pointing a gun at a cop. we saw in massachusetts a woman throwing pork products at cops and calling them pigs. it's awful. but on the other side you've seen rockers wearing nypd if shirts on stage or chili cookoffs and delivery of good you have to take a minute and look at these pictures, taking the saturday after christmas, coming to new york city, many of them spending their own money to do it, to pay respects. how they come together is important to see and how they

come together in the face of great threat. we have seen police officers assaulted in st. louis during the protests, as recently as this past week when there was another police-involved shooting of a kid with a gun. they were assaulted there, fireworks thrown. still everyone comes together to really remember these two officers. you think about raphael ramos for a moment, it's very easy to get caught up in the politics about what leaders are saying this, but this is a man who every day went to work, risked his life. he spent his entire life trying to get on the police force, and by all accounts an incredible family man, a man of great faith. shot and killed execution-style, left behind two children, a wife here, and they are coming together to honor this man and his service. >> it's a very human moment.

you see somebody that you're not feeling great about why you're there, but you can still see they're happy to have seen that person that they haven't seen and the brotherhood they share and the risk that goes along with that is something that obviously brings them together. we could even see that in the dress uniforms with the white gloves, as the officers greet each other. it will be quite a day here in new york. also vice president joe biden has been asked by the president to come and attend the funeral. president obama will remain in wloi on vacation. some have sudden he should have had a more public appearance among all this as well. >> there's been a lot of controversy in his role about this remember after the eric garner decision, the attorney general was out making a statement he talked about the ferguson indictment.

so far on the execution of these two officers, other than a statement, he's been silent. no on-camera statements, nothing like that, and the vice president coming here, obviously a great show of support, and obviously another one of these scenes, officer liu, his families has to come in from china. you can imagine their anguish and heartbreak as they are trying to get halfway around the world to say good-bye to their brother, their son. you can imagine the support and strength the family is gaining. that's what this is about. it's about comfortic this family. it's a very personal matter. resetting at :13 after the hour, you are looking live at the funeral for one of two nypd officers. where is the president now? how about eric holder? we take a closer look with a former doj official, next. you're here to buy a car.

what separates us from the mob burning in california, looting in ferguson, killing in new york city. without the police, we would suffer from these people. that's exactly why the administration has been totally silent, because they've been on the side of the lawless up until now. it took a police killing in new york city to say anything about this. instead they're fanning the flames. the policies, leland are out of control. he appointment people in the justice department who have been on the side of attacking police. people in top doj positions. they pay hundreds of thousands to the organization lie the institution of race on justice. to engender a narrative that the cops are bad. it's both the rhetoric and the doj policies that have been on the side of the lawless and not on the side of law enforcement

for the last few years. bill bratton is now making his way through that crowd to attend this funeral. there's been so much discussion, though, about this break between mayor de blasio and the nypd, we've been covering it all morning all week in terms of the way the mayor has treated the police. the way the police have angrily come back there's a lot of police who are getting worried they have to make that split-second decision. i'm wondered if your time at the doj, if you can look at what if anything can be done to reinforce this truth between police officers and the rest of law enforcement, the rest of the united states government, that people have their back. >> it's going to be hard to,

. back live to the christ tabernacle church, which is in queens, new york. we have about a half hour away from the beginnings of the funeral for officer rafael ramos. well, moments ago, new york city mayor bill de blasio arriving. he is expected to speak at the service. >> we live at the scene. brian? >> good morning. that's right, we've seen hundreds gather all morning. what you can see in back of me, actually, rows of nypd officers lined up, ready for hearst carrying the body of ramos.

now, the church is very important to the officer. he was a member there for 14 years. the congregation of about 4,000, he was an usher, a pastor, a humble and church-going man and of course now he's being laid to rest here today in front of his family, his wife, two children, two boys, justin and jayden who spoke yesterday. here the officers of not really speaking to anyone. that's a tradition. they don't speak here at the ceremonies. they're lined up with the white gloves and full uniforms. the speaker is out here playing some somber music. they're just all ready to salute the officer for the last time. mayor bill de blasio came in about five minutes away in a motorcade. the nypd commissioner bratton arrived, and tweeted -- our

hearts are heavy as we lay to rest one of our finest officer. our hearts are heavy. we've seen one protester that said "dump de blasio." somebody known as somebody with an infectious smile, he volunteered when are as an usher at this church, helping elderly people to the seats. he was part of a marriage pact, helping others through their church, a continuous will you praying for them today he will no doubt get thousands of players from those who will be here and around the world, as we hon or him and his family and all that he has done in service of this country and city. we have jurs moments away from

his funeral service. >> yes we saw just ahead of the wake his casket with the flag draped over it being carried into the church on the shoulders of six of his fellow officers. you mentioned bill de blasio speak, vip joe biden speaking. what else can we expect. >> we have the honor gart, about al pallbearers. it's just other officers that will carries hi casket. you mentioned the bagpipes. his hearst will travel to the final resting spode with officers on the side.

helicopters will also fly over in the missing man formation in honor of officer raphael ramos. again this is part of the traditional ser myowe expected. as you want. vice president joe biden will be expected to make remarks. >> the church itself, which we are looking at with the wreath above the doors and people walking in and out, such a big part of his life. obviously is not big enough to hold even a fraction of the people who are there. how will they know what's going on inside? i know yesterday they had some monitors set up. is something happen similarly today? >> about 850 people can fit inside that church. yesterday there were giant television screens set up. today you don't see that. today what you see is just speakers outside. perhaps they'll be able to play the audio, but we don't see

television screens like we saw yesterday. there would be a live web stream of the funeral service on the church's wub site, but against right now it's just the officers lining up ready for the hearst, and there's music playing here. >> it's not just new york's finest who are in attendance here jedblue hundreds of them to show their final respects as well. >> that's right. >> i was just going to get to the sense we've been talking all morning about the controversy that's been surrounding the officers killings, and the response to it, the mayor. there's a lot of officers who are upset that the mayor showed up.

do you get a sense of that tension? or has everyone put aside the receipt ricks. have they been able to simply focus today on officer ramos, or whether you get a sense of that tension as we watch that video of bill de blasio coming there to the church. >> leland, there's no sense of political tension here whatsoever. today is about officer ramos. you can tell when you look at the environment here, there's no sense that anyone is here to talk about politics, to talk about whatever pat lynch had to say, whatever de blasio had to say. none of that. it appears this environment has taken a tone. rafflial ramos' family said they

don't want to hear anymore from pat lynch or mayor de blasio. they want to hear about officer ramos and the order officer, liu who lost their lives. today there's no sense of anyone talking about nothing except for the memories, and everyone is here with a keen purpose to remember him and what he's brought and what he's done for this city and country. >> thank you, brian. t would happen, if you have any there's a time and a place for everybody. emotions were high last week when pat lynch what he said and over official said what they had. when bill bratton sent out his tweet this morning, talking about heavy hearts as they lay to rest one of their finest police officers, and officer ramos, he was talking about that and having to focus as it will be starting some 20 minutes from now, and nothing else. >> you got it. mayor bill de blasio has been a

huge supporter of the protest ers he did ask for a moment of pause on christmas eve and protesters didn't do it. they still came out. as far as protests scheduled for today, many groups have backed down and said we are going to not do that today, but i was just reading there is one scheduled in brooklyn today. yesterday we saw a flag going along the hudson river saying mayor de blasio, our backs you are turned to you. that was commissioned for about $1,000 for a pilot to fly up the hudson river by both retear and current police officers who are saying that these relationships that we have with the police department and about city hall have been very ey and we feel betrayed by the mayor. >> obviously that is a reference

to what happened after office ramos was shot, and officer -- mayor de blasio showed up to the hospital. on his way out, there are dozens if not hundreds of police officers who turned their backs to the mayor in a show of disrespect and a show of the tension that exists. obviously that is not something we are seeing here today. these officers have come together and obviously we're all waiting toss what mayor de blasio says, and all morning we've been talking about what he is say to close the rift between the police department. >> this isn't something that happens very much, thank goodness.

so many of them were killed in the attacks. it sealed like there was a funeral every day, but when it does happen now it's strikes to see the sea of blue, and as anna said earlier, you're right, it's not just the nypd that's there. it's the other officers around the country. that's what happened in 9/11, on september 12th, 13th and 14th, when police were still looking, hoping to find bodies. sure, there were nypd officers there, and from driving through the night to come to northern and this brotherhood that comes with law enforcement, and i think you can include the firefighters as well. >> you see the sea of blue. on you producers telling us that 20,000 are expected to be showing support here. >> we're going to reset now. a live look where thousands are

what are you thinking as you watch this scene? >> it's horrible memories. i was a cop back in the early '70s we had 134 cops assassinated one year and 11 the next. mice first reaction is when they two brave officers were assassinated, i've been very outspoken about de blasio like everyone else has been. today is not a day about de blasio. today is a day to reflect on this hero, raphael ramos. i'm not against anybody being there. i just wished this mayor realizes what this police department is all about. maybe he'll come back to earth and understand what this police department is all about, and show them the support he should have been showing in the beginning, but today my heart -- when this thing happened i felt

like i lost a relative. it's a funny brotherhood, you could be retired or whatever, but when that news comes, you feel like you lost a relative. my heart is very heavy today, watching the funeral. i just feel very emotional about it. again, it's something that today it's about reflecting a the officers and what they gave up. they gave up their lives, their families still have to live without these officers coming home, and i think that's what it's about. >> every day they go to work, and they have no idea what they're walking into. at the wake yesterday we heard from the still of rafael ramos, and also one of his two sons. let's take a listen to that. >> dad, i will miss you very -- i'll miss you with every fiber of my being. >> my heartaches so much right now.

please pray for me, as i know you always have. >> and when you hear that. >> obviously it just breaks your heart. what is this family going through, though? >> it's just something. again with -- i mean, we went through this many, many times in my career. you've got to remember i'm retired 30 years. i was on the force for 15. that's 45 years that i've been involved with the police department. i still say very current with the police department, and have so much respect for bill bratton and all the officers, the patrolmen up to the chiefs of the department. the whole thing is just about one thing. it's a life, not a profession. once you retired, you still have that running in your blood and you still have that respect. you know what has to happen right now? i hope this man, this president

start to realize the environment that they have caused here with this anger against cops. these cops didn't do anything wrong. we have the most diversified police department in the world in new york city. one asian, one hispanic, just to show you the diversity of this police department. it doesn't need retraining. what this police department needs is the support of the people and understanding of what happened. accidents do happen. tragic accidents in staten island, and you know what? these cops should not be blamed about a man who was dying in custody. again it's not about the police department. to condemn a whole police department and treat these guys and ladies like this is so long. >> it really speaks to the brotherhood. bo, did you hear how quick those names came off his tongue? >> yeah. and these kids that are growing

up, but they grew up without a father, and that's a horrible, horrible things. again, today is a reflection, and i hope when he bury two officers, when they are finally buried, this man and this president can reflect and bring us back to the way we was. with the two non-racial incidents that are cured in the united states. as far as people now jumping on board with this anger. it's anger against cops. i don't get it. i turn the tv on every night. what caused this anger? let's step back and remember these two brave officers and start loving the police department again. you have a great department here. >> that's what we'll do. >> try to put politics aside. bo dietl. >> god bless their families, okay? >> absolutely. 100%. that was governor andrew cuomo

as an usher inside that church. we are learning about his career, a short career with the police department. the people who were regular in the church knew him well. he was there every week to help people. now, many of them, along with fellow officers coming out to remember him. >> a spiritual leader in the church, known for his infectious smile. he's there in uniform. all the officers feel they are part of his family. his family, his wife and two sons, no doubt, are in mourning this morning. >> they say 25,000 police officers will come to attend this funeral. many flown in from arnds the country by jetblue. a host of dignitaries are coming. vice president joe biden, tim dolen will be at the church. governor cuomo who just walked in. he's been a member of that church for 14 years, you were saying.
