tv Hannity FOX News January 5, 2015 7:00pm-8:01pm PST
7:00 pm
happy new year. welcome to "hannity." it is a new year. and tomorrow republicans take over the house and the u.s. senate. 2015 could be a great year for conservatism. let's go. >> the horse race is on for 2016. so who has the best shot to win back the white house? campaign carl is here to breakdown the field. new york police officers once again turn their back on comrade bill de blasio as the officer's widow says good-bye. >> you are an amazing man even though you left us early i believe that he is still with us. >> geraldo, bo dietl and pat
7:01 pm
bronson here with their analysis. >> and i said if i got bin laden in our sights i would take that shot. >> president obama spikes the football for years, but now his administration is investigating the navy s.e.a.l. who actually killed osama bin laden. rob o'neill will be here with exclusive reaction. plus, peta goes after former alaska governor sarah palin for an innocent photo she posted of her son and their family dog. palin is here to responds directly to her crazy critics. "hannity" starts right here, right now. the presidential election is more than a year away, but many republicans are already hinting they may throw their hat in the ring including governor mike huckabee who just this weekend announced he was ending his show here at the fox news channel and is weighing the thought to run for president. joining us to explain more carl i'm predicting double digits. your thoughts. >> double digit candidates? absolutely.
7:02 pm
for huckabee the big number is eight. that's how many states he won including iowa in 2008 when he ran for president. evangelical christians love him social conservatives love him. he's got a big following from his former tv show having left fox. but fiscal conservatives not so much. the conservative club for growth super pack today put out a statement slamming his as governor of arkansas saying he was a tax raiser and big spender. he had a hard time organizing money nationally last time. that could be a really big problem this time. the money is going to be incredibly difficult. it's going to take at least $50 million to $100 million for any candidate to go from now until the first four big tests states in february of next year, sean. >> all right. carl cameron reporting. thanks so much. we're going to watch closely. what do you think about the polls showing jeb bush in the lead? and how are conservatives reacting to that? >> jeb bush is really sort of setting the pace. he formed an exploratory committee before the end of last
7:03 pm
year. and he will be setting the pace yet again this week with the first big fundraiser of the 2012 cycle. he's going to go to greenwich, connecticut, which may not endear him to a lot of blue collar conservatives, but it's where the family -- his father was born and lived as a kid. that will be the first big fundraiser. he's very much setting the pace and leading the poll for the establishment candidate. chris christie didn't look all that presidential to an awful lot of viewers watching the football game yesterday getting psyched about the dallas victory in the playoffs. he's going to start a victory lap as last year's chairman of the republican governors association. he's going to hit iowa new hampshire, south carolina and just early voting states. this thing is on in a big way. and a lot of it is not just for the money, but as you say the conservative base. and all of them there are going to be vying for it. the christian conservative or base is likely to be sliced between four, five maybe six or seven candidates and a lot of speculation over jeb bush, chris
7:04 pm
christie and perhaps two other governors would be competing for that mantle. first cattle call of 2008 -- excuse me, 2016 shall we say, is literally less than three weeks for now. coming up on the 24th of the month. >> i want to see what governor kasich and governor scott walker do. it will be interesting if they get in. >> scott walker gets inaugurated tomorrow. all that's coming for him. >> campaign carl starts now. what most people don't know is a lot of this will be literally vetted out in 2015. carl cameron thank you. now, the new congress is sworn-in tomorrow. so is the president finally willing to put his differences aside, work with the republican-controlled house and senate? standing by tonight at the white house, fox's own ed henry. >> sean, good to see you. the president is now dealing with a whole new political reality. for the first time in his time in office that he's had republicans running both chambers of commerce. they're saying all the right things about cooperation, but interesting the president and his aides are also actually acting with confrontation.
7:05 pm
the president teeing up potential more -- potentially momore action in the days ahead. later this week he'll be heading out on the road for campaign-style events on the economy rather than scheduling a meeting with republican leaders as they open new congress. aides saying they might do that later this month but not this week. something i pressed josh earnest about. listen. >> you haven't been sworn in and saying he's getting ready to do more? >> he is. the president is determined to make progress where he can on his own. >> now the president also talked about more confrontation over the holidays. an interview with npr where he's going to use his veto pen a lot more to pushback if incoming senate majority leader mitch mcconnell tries to repeal or derail his signature health care law. interesting because there's a new book out just out today from steven brill, an exhaustive book over 500 pages looking very closely at the health care law, its implementation that suggests on the positive side its insuring millions. but this book concludes that
7:06 pm
it's costing a lot more. and it's sticking taxpayers with the tab for covering all of those people. so it's going to provide new fodder in the days ahead as this new republican congress looks again at trying to scale back that health care law, sean. >> and with the cromnibus -- remember the president said he would go it alone. is there any indication that he's really going to reach out to mitch mcconnell? in six years i think they met, what, three time sns. >> right. it was a handful of times. i think you can see where the president legitimately reach out to republicans on some of these trade deals, potentially on tax reform frustrate nancy pelosi and democrats, working with mcconnell on those kinds of issues. but they're making no bones about the fact he'll work with republicans on a small number of things, he's going to move forward full steam heed on other executive actions if he feels his agenda is being stopped sean. >> all right.
7:07 pm
thanks. happy new year. >> happy new year. >> some conservatives are asking is it time for new leadership in the house of representatives? to put it bluntly, i think it's time for a new speaker. let me tell you why. during his tenure as speaker john boehner has proven in my view he's not up for this job for a number of reasons. he seems only interested in well taking show votes on the house floor. in other words, votes that have no meaning. in other words, he's had opportunities to defund obamacare, use the power of the purse that the constitution gives the house and he hasn't used it. and then with cromnibus he sided with stenny hoyer harry reid and president obama and never spoke to conservative republicans. look at the numbers when john boehner became the speaker of the house january 5, 2011. the national debt was more than $14 trillion. now the national debt sits at a whopping $18 trillion. now, that's more than a 29% increase. here with reaction to that is iowa congressman steve king. congressman, good to see you.
7:08 pm
>> good to be back sean, thanks. >> well, we now have congressman yoho and louis gohmert throwing their hat in the ring. the goal would be to get 29 republicans to vote against boehner to get to a second ballot and then new names can appear. do you think that number will be reached? >> you know at this point i don't know, sean. and we haven't known for some time. but it is something that had a snowball effect last night. we started yesterday morning with only two or three, and by the time last night came there were at least nine. that number's grown a little bit today. but i think there are people waiting for this conference that's taking place. and i think we've got a shot at that. we'll have to see how many people will step up to their roots oaths and how many people hear in their conscious -- and you cannot ratify a president's lawlessness. >> the lawlessness is one issue. but more importantly it's about the power that the congress does have. now, you can argue, okay, well they only had one-half of the legislative branch of congress.
7:09 pm
and they only had so much power. but the opportunity to defund obama care was there the entire time. that never happened. it was a fear maybe inordinate maybe not, that they would be blamed for a government shutdown. was that a lack of true commitment say to defunding obamacare? >> one looks back at that now and thinks so sean. one may remember when you talk about the date of january of 2011, i remember february 14 2011, that's when i brought the amendment to cut off all funding to implement or fund obamacare. that's when i was blocked from the leadership team to being offer that amendment to be attached to a broader spending bill. two and a half years later there was an amendment that cut off that temporarily, but we didn't hold our ground and now obamacare was funded in the omnibus bill going forward all the way to the end of september. and it looks like his executive amnesty is following exactly the same pattern. we've seen this movie before sean. >> all right.
7:10 pm
so now "the washington post" says you've got about 14 members, there may be as many as 24 or 25. you need 29. how many people are flirting with the idea that have spoken to you or maybe louis gohmert or maybe congressman yoho? >> well, the number when you look across the number there are 67 that voted against the om omnibus spending bill. i've had communications with many of them along the way. the possibility is this, if one or two more candidates came forward, i think that would increase the number of people willing to vote for somebody other than john boehner for speaker. it's good that we have ted yoho and louis gohmert. they're both good friends. i've been talking to daniel webster for about two and a half years on this. i would not be surprised to see his name emerge, even tonight to be a candidate also for speaker if that's the case. i think we pick up a number of other votes and perhaps get to that 29. >> 60% of the american people the voter republican want a new speaker. i think that speaks volumes
7:11 pm
here. it's going to be very interesting. this is not happened -- we haven't had a second round of votes since, what, 1923? >> i don't know if that's the case, but i know 1923 was quite a dramatic night with nine different surrounds of votes before they finally settled on a speaker back then, sean. i don't relish the idea of going into that much drama this time. it would be nice to get it in one vote. unlikely for that to happen. i'm in this position when i take an oath to uphold the constitution, to protect and defend the constitution of the united states and that is what our oath is. it's not just defend the united states, it's the constitution. and when you watch it under assault and you're being blocked from defending it by the decisions made at the top and the leadership in the house of representatives, you have to ask yourself, how do i go to the floor or the house of represent representatives representatives, put my hand on the bible and raise my right hand and take the oath to defend the constitution and then turn around and vote for the speaker
7:12 pm
who has been blocking the effort to defend the constitution, at least from my view. i can't reconcile those two things and that's why i'll vote for someone else. >> the reason i would vote for that reason and another reason. if i were to ask anybody in a poll, any city any town, big or small, in america, what is speaker boehner's agenda? they would not be able to answer that question. and i think in this day and age republicans need to offer an aspiring agenda with solutions to america's problems to get people off of welfare, out of poverty and back to work. and moving us towards energy independence, add a real alternative to obamacare. that seems to be missing to me. congressman, good to see you. >> well, thanks, sean. i want to point out louis gohmert has laid out an agenda. i believe ted yoho has an agenda and i believe daniel webster has an agenda. >> coming up next, nypd officers once again turn their backs on mayor bill de blasio this
7:13 pm
weekend at the funeral of slain officer liu. we'll check in with bo dietl, geraldo, pat bronson. remember the navy s.e.a.l. the guy who killed osama bin laden? rob o'neill? he's being investigated for possibly revealing classified information. later, tonight's question of the day, go on twitter@seanhannity, should boehner be replaced as speaker of house? nexium® 24hr. it's the purple pill the #1 prescribed acid blocking brand available without a prescription for frequent heartburn. get complete protection. nexium level protection™

officer liu one of two nypd brutally assassinated last month. his wife gave an emotional eulogy. >> you were an amazing man. even though you left us early but i believe that he is still with us. his spirit will come to look after us. ben is my hero. we can always count on him. i thank you my extended family my family of blue. >> fbi director james comey was also in attendance. he painted a very chilling picture of the danger that are faced by men and women in uniform every day. take a look at what he said. >> one of the hardest things i do as fbi director is call the police departments around this country when an officer in that department is lost in the line of duty. i make far too many calls.
7:17 pm
115 police officers were killed in this country in the last year. a shocking increase from 2013. >> and once again police officers at the funeral look at this, they showed their disdain for new york city mayor comrade bill de blasio, by turning their backs while he spoke at the funeral. here with reaction former nypd detective bo dietl, fox news correspondent he was at the funeral yesterday geraldo rivera and nypd detective pat bronson also at the funeral. guys, thank you for being here. i want to put up some statistics. bo sent them to me via "new york post." they estimate now that 25 million interactions that the police have with civilians over the course of a year. they also say that in 2013 81 occasions where nypd officers pulled their weapon and discharged it. which is considering a city of 8 million people -- >> one out of every 330,000. >> yeah you would even agree,
7:18 pm
geraldo, relatively low number considering. >> oh, definitely. we have the best police force in the country. the safest big city in the world. it is a magnificent place to live. i've lived through, we all have the terrible '70s here when there were 2,300 homicides every year. now about 300. it's a whole new world. >> this afternoon the commissioner was on with the mayor. and the mayor is there saying, oh, why do the cops feel this way. first of all, my own opinion was they were not disrespecting that detective that was being buried. they turned around when de blasio was speaking. again, de blasio says it again, why doesn't he step up and apologize for what he said. >> it's worse than that. let me play what de blasio and bratton said about the cops turning their backs on de blasio. he actually went after the cops again said they were disrespectful to the -- they were at the funerals of these guys. now he's accusing them of being disrespectful. watch this. >> they were disrespectful to the families involved. that's the bottom line. they were disrespectful to the
7:19 pm
families who had lost their loved one. >> i share in his concern what was the need in the middle of that ceremony to engage in a political action? i don't get it. and i'm very disappointed, very disappointed, in those who did not respond to my request to cover stories and so many in the papers focused on their actions focused on them. the selfishness of that action, the selfishness of it. >> they're calling the officers disrespectful and selfish. your reaction. >> i was at both funerals, sean. i may not have been the first to turn but i was definitely in the top 10,000. this is a fact dozens and hundreds, all this propaganda i've been reading about totally false. the fact is this is relatively harmless, constitutionally sound, legal way for the men in blue to demonstrate their sense of betrayal, their conviction about betrayal and the way de blasio poisoned the anti-police
7:20 pm
caldron of burning police hatred. if you connect the dots it comes back to ismaaiyl brinsley. >> this goes back to the mayor implying that his son who is black needed to respond differently to police because of the color of his skin. isn't there an insinuation there cops are racist? >> there's a wit of difference between the four of us in terms of understanding the grievance that the police officers have. understanding the grievance though understanding the grievance as we don't criticize the cops. but i as a person who was born in this city, raised within 50 miles of the empire state building my entire life, i am disappointed they did it because i think it did distract from the -- >> i'm just the opposite. i could not be more proud -- >> i was asked if i would have done it. maybe i wouldn't have done it, but the cops that are out there
7:21 pm
every day taking the crap that they have to take because of what's happened they didn't turn their back on that officer that was being buried. when the mayor was speaking, they turned their back with big bird there because they're so upset with him. >> this display -- the headline would have been the weeping widow with the most poignant wrenching -- >> now the mayor has forced -- >> instead we're talking -- >> the mayor has fought the police commission to run these hero officers -- >> there's a deeper point here. i would argue that the mayor's rhetoric has been so reckless, he's contributed to an environment -- >> agreed. agreed. >> -- turn their back on -- >> but he has learned in recent days that rotehetoric, irresponsible rhetoric has consequences. no different than yelling fire in a very very crowded theater.
7:22 pm
>> when that judge asked for 250,000 the guy shooting through the cop asking that video, why did that mayor hiefr her and reappoint her? that was a kick in the cops face right there. >> i agree with you. >> if we don't heal, we're going to go back -- >> but the mayor was partly responsible. >> i have no disagreement with that. on a lighter note, i'm very proud of our friend geraldo because he was on "celebrity apprentice" last night and i made like a two-second appearance. >> with ten-grand cash. >> we opened those doors and that crowd was there around the block, i said, baby we got it made. >> the first donation $10,000 from bill o'reilly. $10,000 in cash. >> we're spending. we're roaring. >> wait a second, wait a second. >> he doesn't look like someone who eats pies. >> sean hannity gets $10,000.
7:23 pm
>> i really was so -- >> the way that fox news family has my back. >> oh, 100%. even though you're wrong sometimes. >> well, i totally get that. but people understand that we have different points of view but we love each other. >> absolutely. >> the way you guys came together. >> the only problem i had, i had no problem donating the money. first, i had -- >> i was a little lighter than sean. >> all i said was how much do you need? well done. >> thank you. coming up, republican congressman in hot water for allegedly speaking to a group with ties to white supremacy more than a decade ago. should he step down? we have reaction. and later tonight, former governor sarah palin post this picture of her son and the family dog on her facebook account. and the left and peta went nuts. governor palin is here to weigh-in on the liberal hysteria

7:26 pm
it's specific treatment for diabetic nerve pain. welcome back to "hannity." republican congressman steve scalise is under fire after he was speaking to a white supremacy group back in 2002. reactions have been mixed over this revelation. senator barasso calling this speech a grave mistake. take a look. >> if you talk to this group and it seems that there's some confusion if he did or not i think it's a grave mistake on his part. >> many have voiced their support including incoming congress wan mia love, the first black republican congresswoman elected. >> this is 12 years ago, it's interesting that it's coming up now. i found that really interesting. these groups are awful. the last thing i want to do is give them any sort of publicity or credibility. and i can say as far as i'm
7:27 pm
concerned with representative scalise, he's been absolutely wonderful to work with. he's been very helpful for me and he's had the support of his colleagues. i believe he should remain in leadership. there's one quality that he has that i think is very important in leadership and that's humility. and he's actually shown that in this case. and has apologized. and i think we need to move on and get the work of the american people done. >> now, scalise has since condemned the group's views. guys, good to see you. happy new year. >> happy new year, sean. >> thoughts? >> well, he did apologize. he said he exercised poor judgment. but i think he's become a distraction. the republicans are about to take over both chambers. this is what we're talking about. i don't think that's good for the party. so i think remaining in leadership is a problem. >> i look at this from another angle, sean. one, steve scalise apologized.
7:28 pm
and as i'm looking at this story and how it played out by all reports credible for something he didn't do one, this story was tipped off by robert reed campaign manager for guilder read who ran against him when jindal moved on to the governorship. two, i'm looking at the euro workshop flier here, the picture put out by vetted conference was two hours in full disclosure, i stayed at a number of hotels back at that time, i wasn't there for the conference, but it's a well-known landmark as you come into new orleans and i just like the round building. >> the fact when he said he spoke because he apologized -- >> he was in a community meeting. and even by own records and kenny knight tied to david -- >> that's -- >> it was two hours after his community meeting -- >> here's my problem. i'm having a hard time believing -- and this is my take, that he didn't know this was a david duke's organization.
7:29 pm
>> they were in the hotel. i went through the hotel rates. they had a convention there. call it that. so people are there. he has a community meeting. conference starts later. people go into his community meeting. if that plays out as true, the mistake of steve scalise is apologizing where he didn't have to. >> apparently he thinks he spoke there because -- >> to be honest, go to your staff, look it up. i did. >> here's a different reason it's a distraction. you have a number of republicans working very hard, paul ryan out there visiting poor black communities all over the country. rand paul speaking at black colleges. this episode doesn't help those efforts. >> i agree with that. >> i think it sets those efforts back. to have this man as the number three republican in the senate is a big target. >> but what about the association with knight who's associated with duke? he had to know who this guy was. >> he was a state representative. again, my point is there's more
7:30 pm
to the story. >> you say he had to work with the guy. >> i don't know whether he had to work with him or not. i don't kpusz it on either side. i'm with you on the distraction though, jason, especially that the democrats are now saying you've got to confirm loretta lynch or you're racist. they're using it as a mass of distraction. we have a multi-trillion-dollar problem for the new congress and here we are talking about this. >> i will say this, and you can bring up bill ayers -- >> yeah, double standard. keith ellison, another racist organization. >> kkk bird. >> al sharpton, look at this, the president says al sharpton, a known racist -- >> robert bird was the majority leader in the senate for the democratic party. he's a member of the clan. and said so. this guy spoke as he was speaking to the whole state. so i would be willing -- what bothers me more is he's kind of trying to say, oh, i didn't know. and i don't believe that. >> here's the problem with
7:31 pm
politicians, they are risk averse, sean. they don't want -- let's apologize and move on. and steve scalise made a mistake playing the risk averse situation here. this is how it played out they were all in the hotel, this is what happened. >> democrats there's a double standard. >> huge. >> go on example after example, but, sean, democrats should not be the barometer of what is appropriate and inappropriate political behavior. the republican party should police its own in this case and not let the left set a standard of morality. >> agreed. >> talking about boehner being challenged by louis gohmert and congressman yoho, i wonder if it was a conservative if boehner and company would have defended a conservative. what's your thought? you're laughing because i might have hit a nerve here. >> literal dichotomy but it is the leadership defending its own. and scalise is part --
7:32 pm
>> might have been thrown overboard. >> remember the battle with the tea party, there's all those aspects. >> good to see you. happy new year. coming up remember the man who killed osama bin laden? he's now being investigated believe it or not by the ncis for allegedly revealing some classified information. is this how we treat a great american hero? rob o'neill responds exclusively when we come back. and later, liberals totally lost its. they're freaking out over this photo of governor sarah palin's son and dog that she posted on social media. governor palin will respond to that lunacy straight ahead. do you suffer from constipation or irregularity? trust dulcolax® for dependable relief. try free at dulcolaxoffers.com dulcolax® tablets are comfort coated for gentle, overnight relief. hurry! try free at dulcolaxoffers.com. dulcolax®. designed for dependable relief™.

they began to spike that football. you may remember this. >> i said if i got bin laden in our sights, i would take that shot. most of al qaeda's top lieutenants have been defeated. i said we'd go after bin laden if i had a clear shot at him, and i did. osama bin laden is no longer a threat to our country. we put al qaeda on the path defeat. >> osama bin laden is dead and general motors is alive. >> al qaeda's on the path to defeat, and osama bin laden is dead. al qaeda's on the path to defeat and osama bin laden is dead. >> we decimated al qaeda central. we have eliminated osama bin laden. that was our purpose. >> now they were not the ones who really killed bin laden. my next guest did rob o'neill. how is he thanked for his service? rob is now being investigated for possibly disclosing classified information. fox news has obtained several letters from lawmakers offering their full support to rob o'neill. he joins us exclusively, former
7:39 pm
s.e.a.l. team six rob o'neill, i don't know what to say. every president when he gets out of office writes a book. every vice president, every secretary of defense, every cia director writes a book. and here you tell your experience, all the information had been out there anyway, except the name. and where's this investigation going? >> sean, thanks for having me. i appreciate. always good to be here. right now it's my understanding that there's been a complaint from somewhere inside the navy that something was disclosed and they're investigating the complaint. they're not investigating me right now. i've not been contacted. it's my understanding any complaint needs to be investigated by the ncis. they haven't called. if they do, i'll take the call. >> i understand you'd take the call, but even though they didn't call you doesn't mean you're not being investigated. you've had it confirmed in fact there is an investigation into a possible disclosure. >> yes. >> when you told your story did
7:40 pm
you run it through different people telling them you were going to speak out? >> no i didn't run it through anybody. but i was careful to make sure i didn't disclose anything classified at all. you'd be surprised how much stuff is not classified. that's the kind of stuff i told. the stuff that is classified, the stuff i signed say i would not speak about at all and i have no intention of doing so so i'm pretty confident. >> yeah, you're confident and there's no merit. the fact something was done inadvertently, that people think this is worth an investigation. with all these letters, i have congressman, kevin kramer, members of congress, the list goes on and on, thomas rooney duncan hunter wrote a letter mary ann cummings communication director, department of navy wrote a letter. all in your behalf. i would think maybe the president might want to speak up again and say maybe leave rob o'neill alone, he's a hero. we appreciate what he did and what s.e.a.l. team six did. would you like to see that? >> well, i appreciate support from either side of the aisle,
7:41 pm
everyone in congress and the white house again. i don't want to be a pawn in the middle of this. it's always great to get support. i don't think it's quite at that level yet. and i think, like i said, it's just at a spot where they're instigating complaints from somewhere inside the navy. i'm confident it will be investigated. and hopefully that's it. >> do you think there is a double standard between all of these former secretaries of whatever, vice presidents, presidents, they get to tell their stories. they write their memoirs. do you think it's fair they get to do that and then if somebody's involved in a secret operation like yours everyone after the facts are pretty much known except names aren't disclosed, do you think it's unfair? >> i wouldn't go so far as to say it's unfair. i think a lot of these stories for people that play a big role in history they should tell their stories and they should be able to do so sot american public knows. i'm confident that's what i did as well too. if i ever did write a book i would go through the proper process. again, with the stuff i told i don't think any of it's

classified. i thought about it for many years. and, you know, i think the american public deserves to know what happened. a lot of it for closure. >> the reason i support it so much is because i like the idea of every terrorist out there knowing that we will not sleep, we will not stop that we are -- they better be sleeping with both eyes open because we're coming after them if they do something as heinous and evil as what happened on 9/11. and you telling that story is a reminder to them of the power and potency of the u.s. military. so i think it's a good thing that you told the story. i'm sorry that you may have to answer questions for it because you actually told the truth. but we'll follow the story. thank you for being with us. >> absolutely, sean. thanks for having me. >> appreciate it. coming up governor sarah palin posts this photo of her son and the family dog. and the mainstream media, well, they head into their typical governor palin tail spin. when we come back governor palin joins us with reaction and

stepping stool so that he could reach the sink in order to help clean dishes. unbelievably there's those in the media as well as extreme animal rights groups like peta accuseing senator palin of animal cruelty. here to join us with more, former governor sarah palin. i think i read there were like 70,000-some posts against you in like 30 minutes. this has gotten more serious in some regards. what's your reaction? >> well, yeah the ridiculousness, sean. background though peta has been attacking me for years. they've been attacking me because they know that i eat therefore i hunt. and i tell my kids that many of their meals will be coming wrapped in fur, not cellophane. and if they eat organic, just got to shoot it first. they've never been a big fan. when i was governor aggressive predator control in order to allow many of our herds to thrive and see good returns on our herds, they didn't like that

either. and they were brutal back then too. but this one i have to admit even though it seems like i've seen it all this one kind of took me aback. >> it's interesting i don't think they're going to like the pictures i posted when fishing on vacation and all the groupers i caught while i was out fishing. this is what peta says in response to all of this. it's odd that anyone let alone a mother would find it appropriate to post such a thing with no apparent sympathy for the dog in the photo. then again, peta along with everyone else is used to hardhearted seemingly obliviousness of this bizarrely -- woman to be filmed while turkeys were being slaughtered right behind her in full view of the camera. i guess they believe that they have constitutional rights, meaning animals. >> well, i guess they don't know where their leather belts and leather chairs crocodile purses many of the elites who are part of that leftist peta group where those come from. no, i love animals.

specifically i'm in love with our dog jill who is a service dog for our youngest son. trained in iowa at the puppy jake foundation. we love her. would never abuse her. i think what we've done is proven the irrelevance of peta and many on the left because the double standards they apply. so hypocritical. there are outcries of oohs and ahhs, but sarah palin. and also their man of the year in 2014 was mayor de blasio who, my goodness he killed a groundhog, didn't he? and yet still, you know -- >> we've been putting all these pictures up there.
7:51 pm
for the record this is a dog specially trained for your son. this is a bond that your son has with the dog and the family has with the dog. the dog was not injured or hurt in any way, shape or form. and there's great love and a great bond there right? which is part of your story. -- supporters have been able to adopt the dog that's been trained for a child with special needs. yes, there is a bond there. she's a great part 60% of republicans say no.

i am among them. i wanted to get your reaction. how do you feel about the speaker and what about steve scalise and the controversy around that. >> well i think speaker boehner unfortunately did not listen to many of us who were saying all along, when you campaign one way and govern another way. man, that is a turn off. and really it is unethical. and we don't have to put up with that. so those that have gone along just to get along with president obama, like speaker boehner we need to thank them for their service and say time for new energy and time for the campaign promises to be fulfilled. i love those texan politicians that call it like they see it and are true conservatives. >> you know it is very interesting. none of the conservatives were consulting during the cronnibus. he didn't even try to reach out to his own conservative members. that is a line that shouldn't be

crossed. and he funded obama for a year. >> and the debt increased $4 trillion under the speaker's leadership. and you pointed this out before sean. and i think that is very valuable for the public to realize. pick a side when you are in a position like that. are you go to negotiate and make deals with the far left or are you going to consult with conservatives that are your base? he made a choice. we thank him for his service. time for some new energy. governor, appreciate you think with us. when we come back we will let you weigh in on the big story of the day about john baner and much more when we continue straight ahead. sheila! you see this ball control? you see this right? it's 80% confidence and 64% knee brace. that's more... shh... i know that's more than 100%. but that's what winners give. now bicycle kick your old 401(k) into an ira. i know, i know. listen,

7:59 pm
as the speaker of the house? republicans were given a mandate to stop the obama agenda and solve america's problems. i think they need bold new leadership to make it happen. nothing against speaker boehner. we have to get americans off of wellfare and poverty. 92 million americans are not working. we need somebody to articulate and a vision that will inspire. i think that has to be someone besides john boehner. to make the case of stop robbing the kids and start balancing the budget. replace and repeal obamacare. energy. explain how many jobs can be created and the benefits for national security if in fact we become energy independent. all of those things, i think, are needed in the next speaker. securing american borders. will the speaker do that? he funded obamacare for an entire year. but it is not what i think that matters the most. we want to hear from you. head on turnover to facebook or
