a 38 officer is here shot in the chest. he's stable. two suspects robbed a grocery store in the bronx.

saying goodbye to a political lion. three-term former new york governor mario cuomo being laid to rest today. we're live in new york city. >> good morning everyone. that funeral mass for governor mario cuomo will take place at the church behind me on manhattan's upper east side. this is a private service but we're expected very public figures, famous faces. for example, the clintons are expected to attend. today we are expecting the same outpouring of love we saw yesterday outside of the funeral home a short distance from where we are this morning. the three-term governor were remembered not only by his five children but 14

grandchildren and wife of 60 years matilda. thousands waited in the cold to say their goodbyes. they say this is a man that inspired them, a man that taught them to lead by example and live by a better example, i should say. here are one of the people we heard from yesterday, the man who unseated him, former governor george pataki. >> to me it is a symbol of mario cuomo's graciousness how well he treated me after that election. we used to talk from time to time, and he always wanted to do what he thought was right for the people of this state. >> former governor pataki continued to say we are diminished by had i passing. he called it a personal loss not only for those who knew governor mario cuomo but also those of new york state. former governor cuomo died at the age of 82.
