think oregon could win? that quacks me up. and mile says the wing team will start with the letter o. my nine-year-old is wearing his oregon jerriesy. -- oregon jersey. here's shep. >> as president obama talks about cyber security, hackers take over central command's twitter page claiming to be the islam jim state, posting threats and most importantly sensitive information about specific americans in france, thousands of security forces spreading into the streets to protect vulnerable sites and prevent more attacks, comes as investigators hundred for accomplices of the paris guckmen. new video of one suspect apparently in turkey on her way to an escape in syria. plus the first images from the police raid on the printing press that ended with the deaths of two brothers. let's get to it.

first from fox this mongoose, hacker claiming to be islamic state terrorist hacked the personal information of top military commanders and posted it online for the world to see. the hackers today broke into two twitter feeds for the pentagon's central command, along with the central command's youtube channel. they tweeted names and addresses of pentagon commanders, along with partial social security numbers. hackers listed personal information about many current commanders as well as retired generals including colon -- collin pawle and david petraeus, and also posted maps they claim showses surveillance information from north korea and china. the hackers changed the twitter profile to show what looks like a masked militant along with the phrase i love you, isis. one pentagon source says, quote this is bad. the white house is quick to play it down. >> i can tell you this is

something that we're obviously looking into and something we take seriously. however, just -- a note of caution to folks as they're covering this story. a significant difference between what is a large data breach and the hacking of a twitter account. >> still, the hackers were successful in posting the real addresses of the military leaders along with a threat wives and children, and a tweet including a photo showing the inside of a military office space. central command is of course based at mag gill air force base in florida and macs u.s. military operations the middle east and oversees americas wars. the hacks were online for 40 minutes or more before the pentagon got twitter to pull the plug and cams the same day is a president obama proposing new measures to protect people's

privacy online. also, right now we're waiting to hear from the police commissioner in new york city, set to talk about new terror threats against new york city and threats against the new york city police department specifically. we'll bring you any news that comes from that momentarily. first, to jennifer griffin live this afternoon at the pentagon. are pentagon officials saying whether any classified information was leaked here? >> well, shep, according to the pentagon, no. they say the information that was put online was publicly available on the internet. the slide and plans they purportedly posted were from an open source from m.i.t. but not only did the banner of their arabic and english centcom twitter page say i love you isis but one tweet says isis is already here. we're in your pcs, in each military base. the official centcom youtube site began playing isis propaganda videos with tight. s such as all soldiers of truth go forthwith fiery images of isis fighters.

perhaps most disturbing were the personal details that the hackers published of u.s. army commanders and the top leadership of the u.s. military, including personal e-mails and phone numbers. some numbers we tried and were outdated. old numbers from previous assignments. >> there is any way to know at least at this moment who is responsible and further jennifer, how seriously is the pentagon taking this and. >> hard to know who exactly is responsible, but they clearly have an understanding of the west and of the u.s. military and these cyber issues. the pentagon is downplaying the breach-but pretty alarmed by the message. chairman of the joint chiefs general martin dempsey, had this warning about cyberthreats in general during an interview with chris wall loss on "fox news sunday." >> what have you learned about cyberthreats from the north korea hacking of sony pictures? how vulnerable are we to acyberpearl harbor? >> cyber can be disruptive and can disrupt and it can destroy.

in every domain, chris we generally enjoy a significant military advantage, but we have peer competitors in cyber. >> centcom had to work through twitter to stop the hacker even though the u.s. has a u.s. cyber command chat is supposed to protect the u.s. military and its network from this kind of attack. u.s. cybercommand's budget doubled to $447 million for this year alone. >> jennifer griffin at the pentagon. thank you. let's turn to colonel sedrick layton specializes in cyber threats, trained thousands of military staffers in cyber security. how big a deal is this? >> it's a big deal, this is one of the biggest ones we have had so far that has become public knowledge. the good news it's a twitter account and not the network but it's a big deal. >> getting in the network if you had that, a whole new ball game. but a twitter account, if you don't have a good pass word

wouldn't take long. >> and you can use links to get from wing thing to another and doesn't take long. >> it was up for 40 minutes and not just in english lange. we have an arabic language version and that was out for 40 minutes as welch that's not a propaganda win. >> no, it's not. and because the twitter is used for messaging and the arabic version of twitter for the centcom site especially, that's significant issue and we have to remember it's not just the technical piece. it's also the public information piece, which twitter of course is a useful tool and if we don't protect that asset we have great vulnerabilities and we risk losing the messaging war in this case. >> colonel, bigger picture, who are did the hacking -- we don't know who it is -- whoever did this claims that they're in our pcs and they're able to get into our network systems. what stock do we put in that?

>> well, i think it's a bit exaggerated. i think in this case the idea they are in everybody's pc is probably overblown, but they're clearly working on it and that's what they want to do. >> can we get into their systems? if not, why not? >> well, depends. some of their systems have proven to be vulnerable in the past. right now that's one of the most sensitive areas the military and cyber commander are working on. but it is an area that i think they are constantly evolving, clearly doing things like changing passwordses every 12 hours, things like that. so they're making it very hard for us to get in there, at least trying to do that. but it is possible for us to get in there and who knows, when they see something back from us to them in the not do tao distant future case, do we do that change our passwordses -- on our power grid and our transportation system, things we have always thought are vulnerable? >> no, we do not and that's one of the biggest vulnerabilities out there. we have to do that because it's

part of the key public infrastructure, and failure to protect that infrastructure gives us a huge victory, vulnerablity, but that's a government and private sector thing as well. >> if you could stay with us. breaking news happening now. the nypd police commissioner bill bratton is speaking live now on terror threats there was an interview this morning, and he responded to a video from the islamic state which reportedly threatens police officers here in the united states, specifically new york city. what is the biggest city in the country to do now? let's listen to the police commissioner. >> units were impacted by these actions more than others. for example as i reverend last week ex-highway units and traffic enforcement agents which normally conduct solo patrols were doubled up for safety reasons. this was applied to officers taking any personal breaks. last week, i met for several hours with the bureau team.

we encourage them to attend roll calls with respective pre sync commanders and encourage officers to get back to what we describe as normal levels of activity there is no specific target number that we go for no quotas. if you will. but based on past experience we expect more activity than we had been experiencing over these last several weeks. let me just say that the nypd is never going to totally stop working. 9-1-1 calls have been responded to. rescues continue to be made and arrests for crimes are continuing also, and crime has continued to go down, and actual low go down quite substantially the first 12 days of this year, considering that last year was a record low year for crime in so many categories. with that a figure is -- report is released each monday that i believe you're all farm with, the citywide sheet --

>> we're kind of local here. two big matters at issue with the nypd. one, there had been a slow-down, job slow-down which the police commissioner admitted happened. we knowed happened because of the number of people in first appearances or in bond hearings in the morning, first appearance before jumps they'd been cut by half. my sources and good buns inside the nypd tell me the numbers are back up but there had been threats against police officers in the united states. we have seen attacks carried out. there are 51,000 employees of the new york city police department. 34,000 officers as of the end of 2013. colonel sedrick layton. a lot of peoples whose job to protect us who now need some extra degree of protection it would appear. >> yes, i agree. and they're going after, it appears, the nypd in france, the officers were told to limit and eliminate any police mentions in their social media profiles. they have also beefed up their

high risk of becoming targets among those jewish neighborhoods in paris and the country's hundreds of jewish schools. the kosher market was a target last week that killed 17 innocent people. that includes a dozen terror victims executed in the charlie -- "charlie hebdo." the gunmen in the kosher market siege appeared in a video that popped up online. investigate users say it looks like somebody edited the video after the gunman died in the attack. they're trying to hunt down whoever that is, as well as this woman, the gunman's widow. officials in turkey say they spotted her in surveillance video from the istanbul airport. from there she crossed into syria one day after the attack. rick leventhal is in paris for us this evening. what more are we learning about the security situation there rick? >> authorities going to great lengths to protect a french jewish community of 600,000 people, the largest in europe,

concerns spiked her after one of last week's attacks was against the kosher grocery store. the gunman said he are started the store and the jews on purpose and called for more attacks, and there have been other antisemitic threats in al qaeda and yemen andbeyond and that's why the authorities made the unprecedented call for 10,000 soldiers and 5,000 more protect to protect synagogues and the 700 jewish schools across france, hoping this extra layer of protection will thwart anymore possible terror strikes, but the community on edge. 7,000 jews immigrate last year and expect the number could double. >> i mexed one of the gunmen was married. we thought the accomplice was a girlfriend. now we know she is a widow. what do we know how she made into it syria after the kosher market incident? >> last week they were convinced

still reviewing here, in which one of the terrorists indicate some sympathy and support from isil. >> the new york police department and the fbi and homeland security are on heightened alert after the direct threat by isis to law enforcement. >> anything more on the connection to al qaeda in yemen? >> the investigation is ongoing but a yemeny official told fox news they believe al qaeda in yemen provide training to both brothers and the execution of the plot was left to their best judgment. in effect, there was a standing order to launch a strike. the official who is not authorized to speak on the record said, quote, it's highly possible that said kouachi the older brother met one-on-one with the american cleric, al-awlaki, who was a talent spotter for al qaeda in yemen, before he was killed in a cia drone strike in september of 2011. >> the first significant foreign fighter case we have seen where you travel to yemen and back,

cell out and about. be vigilant see something, say something, to say six members specifically, suggests to me they know something. >> well, clearly they had some intelligence there. we know the three suspects that were killed they had been under surveillance at some stage in the past. we know they targeted in an apartment where one of the suspects lived and they found the trigger devices, weapons cash and i'm sure they have gone through the apartment with a fine toothed comb. they're also going to be using social media which these people like to use, internet chatter cell phone records, and any other type of physical surveillance. i feel sure that they know more than they're letting on. >> the specificity of up to six members, based on your experience in these matters from their perspective, after a highly successful attack, we the

other members of the cell be hunkering down or might the idea be to continue this as quickly as possible or would anything like that be nothing more than speculation? >> well, i think we have seen they're willing to die for the cause, and i feel that probably they are maybe hunkering down somewhere. they're going to regroup look for maybe another target. there's always a mr. big that controls these people. what happens is you have a nucleus of a cell and he knows everybody but they don't don't know each other. so he may be calling for other people, may be looking for a new target and they may be just waiting for directions. >> the quote from an isis hack in the u.s. central command is a specific one and says, watch your back american soldiers, we are coming inch addition they have given specific information about family members and residence locations. to what degree would you suggest this is some sort of scare tactic or is it instead a warning to members of the

to everyone involved in this business of analysis like an extremely large number, unprecedented number for france itself and now maybe these matters are beginning to come together. as steve peril mentioned -- steve pearl mentioned these three people involved in the attacks last week had all been under some degree of surveillance, some were on watch lists and now they put together they were part of a cell. the word though bull bulletin of the french authorities said that. what it does not say is whether it's believed these six members of the terror cell are operational, they might have the wherewithal, the equipment, intelligence, communications to be able to pull off some other sort of attack. what it does say is that three are out there, somewhere and they need the public's help fining them. might we get pictures or more information in the minutes

ahead? i've just been told by one of the authorities that -- in any ear we have gotten more suspects and hearings the latest as -- just from "associated press" in paris. police believe as many as six terror cell members may still be at large in the paris attack. now here's new detail. one of whom has been spotted driving a car registered to the widow of one of the slain attackers. remember, they've been searching for one woman who initially they believed was still somewhere in paris, specifically, if not in the french countryside, more generally. now they realize because of video surveillance, that this woman was able to escape, that she went into turkey istanbul took a flight, then crossed into syria. they have video surveillance that suggests that. but one of these members of the cell, according to french police -- this is the first time i heard this -- one of whom has been spotted driving this woman's car or a car registered to her.

this woman is the widow of one of the slain attackers. two french police officials told the "associated press" today that authorities are searching the paris area for the minicooper car registered to the widow. six members of the terror cell, up to six members, believed to be still on the loose in paris somewhere. one of the members of that cell spotted, according to french authorities, driving the car registered to the widow of one of the three assailants who was killed after the attacks last week. so lots of news is developing. much more on the threat from isis here at home. we'll gate live report on what officers are doing after calls for attacks on police officers, on soldiers soldiers and on civilians. the white house is responding after president obama did not join other world leaders at an emotorhome mouse unity rally in paris, and a look at the empire state building last night. the iconic skyscaper in new york city lit up in the colors of the french flag.

continuing coverage of break news. we just got new information while you were in the commercial break. i reported moments ago the french authorities say up to six members of a terror cell are still on the loose somewhere in paris. or believed to be still on the loose, win of whom was spotted in the minicooper car registered to the widow of one of the assailants from last week's terror attack. now i have this, a from jeh johnson of homeland security. they're beefing up federal protective services will be increased at u.s. government buildings so they won't be specific about where and when. i don't know what shifts. they don't want the bad guys to to know that in addition, the secretary reiterated that the transportation security administration is taking steps enhance the number of random searches of passengers and carry-on luggage during aircraft boarding. much to come as the news

continuing coverage of breaking news now, and the astounding report out of france in just the last six or eight minutes. french authorities are now warning the public or informing the public that up to six members of the terror cell of which we can only presume from the wri the memo were attached to the three attackers from last week. six members of that terror cell are believed to be still at large in paris. one of them believed to have been seen driving the car that was registered to the widow over one of the attackers from last week. at almost the same time from jeh johnson we get a notice of increased security presence at federal buildings across the nation and a reminder of increased screenings or surprise and ran doom screen -- random screenings of people's carry-on luggage on planes across the united states domestically.

what impact has this announcement had in paris thus far? let's go back to rick leventhal who is in paris. this was a surprise to us and was it there as well? >> well, certainly a surprise, but shepard officials will never tell you everything they know. they were telling us was that the country remains on high alert and they believed there were other associated with this terrorists from last week's attack still on the run. now we're getting more specifics. at least one of those associates was driving the vehicle that belongs to hayet bow immediate dean -- boumeddiene, and they're obviously searching for that vehicle, searching for the half dozen other members of this terror cell and this nation remains on high alert. 10,000 soldiers and self thousand police officers have been dispatched to synagogues and to jewish schools across

brans and one of the reasons for that authorities knew these guys were out in and thought that might be one of to the next targets. >> they have led to us believe told us they have video surveillance that shows the widow going into syria. further, they have some sort of surveillance that shows someone driving the car registered to her and they believe that person is a member of the terror cell. have the hey indicated whether they plan to release that information so that the public can helped find these people? >> well, that's a good question. i don't yet know if they're giving the license plate number on this minicooper. we know there was a minicooper car registered to her. i national they will release the tag information. we are told now that this widow hayet boumeddiene, left france days before the attack traveled to istanbul, there's surveillance footage of her at the airport with another man who

white house in a rare admission of a mistake from the white house podium today. the u.s. ambassador to france was at yesterday's march in paris but a lot of critics and frankly some obama supporters said the president or someone high ranking should have been there himself. french officials say it was the country's largest rally of any kind ever and the faces in the very front row speak largely of the ewany of the region -- unity of the region. millions marched between the leads, benjamin netanyahu angela merkel the palestinian president, abbas, all there at the same time. in an astounding picture the march again at republic square. thousands of people filled the peninsulas sacks many holding the "je suis charlie" banners and the french flag and some cartoons as well. demonstrators carried -- your can see them on the monitor here and then some carried a giant penal sill with the word

"free" on it. attorney general eric holder was in paris for an emergency meeting. justice department officials say he was not at the rally because he had to get back to washington. ed henry is live. to hear jay carn yeah say was well unusual. >> it was and josh earnest now who replaced jay carney but at that podium you're right they rarely admit a mistake in this administration and they acknowledge this after this got so much attention overnight on social media, all the world leaders there the president or vice-president, attorney general holder, is not there. interesting you know it's not just the president's critics. the new york daily world saying you let the world down. the pictures with all the world leaders. josh earnest did acknowledge that they wished they had gone. so i pressed why they did not go? here's what he had to say.

>> why didn't you? >> well, i sort of tried to describe to you exactly the situation here that there -- we're talking bat march that came together with officially 36 hours notice. and a march that occurred outdoors with an obviously very large number of people who participated. >> how do you explain that the israeli prime minister, benjamin netanyahu made trip. he is a huge target unfortunately. >> i will allow the israelis to discuss what security precautions they had in place. >> we also pressed what was the president doing yesterday? he would not give us anything on what was on the president's schedule. he was here at the white house but would not say why he permanently did not goo. >> what are republicans saying? >> you can emergency they're jumping oning this, ted cruz, the senator who is a frequent critic of the president, using this to making a larger point saying, quote, the absence is symbolic of the lack of american leadership on the world stage and it is dangerous.
