everybody else to obey his orders. one image shows the scene near the registers there where the first victims died, their bodies left on the floor as the gunman took the survivors into the storage room. items knocked off the shelves and shattered over the floor. another body crumbled in the background. an empty stroller. it could belong to a father who left the store later clutching his young son. the gunman reportedly ordered them to destroy the surveillance cameras. here's a hostage looking right into the camera lens. before he can turn it off, something happens inside that store that gets his attention. the hostage in blue walks to the door and minutes later, the gunman was dead after police stormed that store in a flash of

gunfire and explosions. meantime, more images from paris where the new issue of "charlie hebdo" sold out before the sun came up this morning. they're all lined up to purchase copies of that paper. this one in the south of france. you can see the lines there at the newsstand, across the country as well. and sold out signs like this one across france. the cover has a cartoon of the prophet mu prophet muhammad. the images on the front are noticeable. some muslims say showing the prophet in any way is an insult. here, france's prime minister displays a copy of that issue after he left the meeting. as you can see, he covered the cartoon's face.

we have live coverage this afternoon. working the intelligence sources, but let's get to rick in paris. rick? >> reporter: it's been reported that french police were able to tap into those closed circuit television cameras and the images helped them to end that siege before more hostages were killed. we have now obtained still images from that video recorded inside the store during the siege by kulamedy cool bali. we know that he killed two of the store employees during the siege. one of them apparently grabbed the rifle, but it jammed. that employee was killed by the terrorist who was later killed by police. >> wow. and the cops say they arrested

dozens of people so far for hate speech. >> reporter: yeah, 54 arrests since last week's terror attacks. none of them directly related to the attacks themselves. but france has very strict anti-hate, anti-terror laws restricting any kind of speech that might incite trarer rachl, warning authorities to watch for any incidents that might spark unbar unrest. they've detained and arrested 54 people including four minors. several of them have already been convicted and sentenced. one man for four years for telling french police there should be more kouachi brothers. some of the things were said in

first place. state media quoted a prosecutor who said he will face trials in a court that hears security offenses. john kerry meets in switzerland. new talks on iran's nuclear program are set to start tomorrow. now, they say they're going to have an outline by march and a final agreement by june. a pregnant woman and her boyfriend are accused of murdering her mother, then stuffing the woman's body in a suitcase. the suspects went on trial in bali today. they say the justice system there is nothing like ours. for instance no jury. what about three judges and only two of them have to get it right? and if you're convicted of murder in the first degree, what do they do? firing squad. and that's it for you.

now to the american couple on trial for murder. accused of killing the woman's mother then stuffing her body in a suitcase and dumping it in a taxi saying we'll be right back for the suitcase. don't mind mom. this happened in indonesia where the group arrived back in august. prosecutors say the couple plotted to kill the woman's mother because she didn't approve of their relationship from the beginning. that's the mom. investigators say the man beat her to death with the ryan

handle of a fruit bowl. her body later turned up in the suitcase of a taxi. the couple showed up at court together today but prosecutors are trying them separately on charges of premeditated murder. they could face a firing squad or murder two, get like 20 years. it's a very different system than anything we're accustomed to. and the judges don't have to all agree. >> no. and the defendants do not have the right to remain silent. these trials usually begin with the judges up tearintear investigating the defendants. if you do remain silent, they construe the answer to be against your interest. if you don't deny it, then it's deemed an admission. it's a state of affairs that is have, very easy to obtain

convictions. but they don't need an easy conviction from the system. they already have overwhelming evidence. the girl has confessed. there are videotapes of them all over the island together arguing and fighting. all of a sudden, the mother disappears. this is the evidence in the suitcase inside the taxi that these two were in. this is -- this is an easy case for the government to prove. >> is the charge murder one or two? >> well, they don't decide ahead of time. in our system one of the due process protections you have is the government must tell you in advance exactly what you're charged with. in indonesia, the court decides what the charge is on the basis of the evidence. so these people will know at the end of the case, we find you guilty of murder two. >> which means not premeditated. >> correct. >> you do get an appeal.

and had a wing still attached. investigators say they bereave that the bodies of many of the victims are still inside that fuselage. they've explained it as sort of exploding on concrete, not like a fiery explosion, but that the plane broke all apart. the thinks is that something people died in the fuselage. crews this week have found and recovered both of the plane's black boxes. officials have said it could take a couple weeks to analyze those for crews. it disappeared from radar last month. 162 people on board. then there's texas where a bus carrying a dozen prisoners slid off a highway and right into an oncoming train. both prisoners and guards are among the dead. we'll take you to the scene. that's next.

we're hearing more about the deadly prison bus crash in west texas. investigates there say a bus hit a patch of ice, rolled down a hill and slammed right into a moving train. the picks are ridiculous. you can see the bus on its side there. the sheriff said at least ten people died. we're hearing four other prisoners and one officer in a nearby hospital. it happened a couple hours south of lubbock. what have you learned? >> reporter: let me show you around the scene there. right there is interstate 20. that bus was headed in the west direction when the driver lost control, the bus tumbled down the grass embankment. right back there where you see

all the wreckers and people investigating, that have where those train tracks are. it just so happened that a union pacific train was coming through here at the time. the bus hit it was drag add bit before basically falling into pieces. 51 15 people were on that bus. they were transferring the inmates between prisons in abilene and el paso, texas. we understand that all of the prisoners have been accounted for as this investigation continues. >> so a corrections officer and four prisoners survived. how are they? >> reporter: yeah, they did. it's just amazing when you look at the pictures and know that some people made it out alive. a dps worker here said this is one of the worst she has ever seen. those survivors have been transported to an area hospital.

fox report now, more of the headlines. nasa evacuated part of the international space station after an alarm sounded. it indicated a possible toxic leak. officials later said it was a false alarm. two americans among the six crew members on board. they all hung out on the russian side. airlines suspended flight after an under water volcano started spewing a giant cloud of ash. the volcano also spit out mud that turned the water blood red. no reports of anybody hurt. watch this here. a sewer explosion. a 9-year-old boy flying in the air, but he survived. it happened last week in northern china.

bottom of the hour, top of the news. wow, speaker boehner a bartender from ohio is accused of plotting to kill the house speaker john boehner by poisoning his wine or shooting him. according to court documents, he served the house speaker drinks for more than five years at a country club where speaker boehner is a member. police say the bartender called 911. listen. >> yes, this is mike -- i'm messed up. tell my father i'm okay. >> okay. >> and i'm sorry. >> and he's sorry. according to the indictment the bartender later told an officer he was, quote jesus christ and

traditionally china is north korea's biggest ally. well, they also say the russian president isolated himself because he supported the rebels in ukraine and by taking over the crimean peninsula. barack obama reportedly declined the invyitation to the party. north korea takes on the world. looks like they'll have partners in putin there. >> this is really interesting. it's in the dna of the kim family to have two big sponsors, china and russia. now his father, wasn't able to do that because the soviet union was gone. now they are best of friends. and they have a lot of reasons to do it. >> that oil pipeline or the natural gas pipeline more than anything. >> right. the russians are trying to move away from dependence on germany

happened more than 20 years ago. trace gallagher has the news. dna link right? >> yes. pretty fascinating because the victims were killed back in 1992 1993 well before phoenix had the dna capabilities. they collected the victims' clothing that contained dna but there was nothing that they could do with it until 1999. that's when new dna technology matched 21-year-old angela's murder with melanie's. they didn't have a match to a suspect. back in 1994 police questioned a man named brian patrick miller in connection with the killings but cleared him. recently they decided to take a closer look at miller, including nifty undercover work. >> they were able to obtain a dna sample from the suspect just last week. once we got that dna sample from the suspect, that sample was
