also arguing the app endangers officers. waze works like a gps system. you enter the speed troops or backups and others see your information. it's great. law enforcement groups argue that could expose cops to would-be attackers. in a statement a spokesman for waze says, and i quote most years tend to drive more carefully when they believe law enforcementer is nearby. sarah will show us how it works over here. cool thing. >> it does drain the batteries fast but it's navigational app but more of a social media feel.sakç you're in communication with other drivers on the road. someone ahead of you says there's a lot of traffic waze will reroute you. but you can report construction accidents, traffic and if you even see law enforcement. >> police. >> police. so if i see a speed trap and hit this, all the drivers hip me have this pop up as they approach the spot and can either

to come get the police which in this new world we're in they sometimes do, then you're telling them where we are and that might endanger our officers officers and that's the last thing anybody wants. >> that's correct. their argue wouldn't be stronger if this app exposed undercover officers because clearly that would really compromise their safety. but they do have an argument in the sense this makes it easier for criminals to commit crimes if they know where officers in they can factor in response times. so i think they have an argument but it's weak compared to what waze has to argue. >> right on. thank you. the worst offense on the long island expressway is jumping over the divider. that's a $300 fine and they have cops in noncop car vehicles so they'll get you for that. that gets them lot of money. one guy let me not pay once, which i appreciated. because i was confused. a new study finds that
