kill cops. >> no doubt. >> they were in there. playing themselves in roles of protected supposed victims. they said, you know the video was all about go kill cops. >> >> yep we don't like to see anybody lose their jobs but these guys deserve to. >> these guys may be disbarred because it's unbecoming attorneys. >> we were instrumental in this and there you go. so lis, the right thing was done by the city of new york. gary sinise on deck, raising money for wounded vets. why isn't the federal government doing that very lively mail segment about my interview with david axelrod last night after these messages.

foundation raising millions of dollars to help wounded american vets. and here is mr. sinise. tell me about the rise project, r.i.s.e., what is that? >> r.i.s.e. is a program restoring independence supporting empowerment. we want to support our wounded. you're doing that through the independence fund with the housing, especially adapted housing, adapted vehicles. things that are going to empower them to have a better life. >> so your foundation is actually building houses for specific individuals with handicaps, so that they can live more comfortably, that's what it is? >> smart technology homes. >> that's amazing. and equipped cars so they can get around. my question is you have devoted most of your life to this outside of your acting career. we have raised about $30 million with independence fund as you

mentioned, for the track chairs. why isn't the federal government doing more? >> well, i always say you know we can never do enough for our veterans, but we can always try to do a little bit more. the government it's a big giant bureaucracy, and there are a lot of veterans who have been served well by the government they've done well. but we have a new generation from lieutenant dans, in afghanistan, where they got their limbs blown off. >> because that's the way the savages fight against us. but the federal government should recognize this. i always say this because i've been hard on president obama on policy he helped measurably signing the picture with the five presidents whenever i ask him to help he does. but it doesn't seem to be a coordinated priority for the federal government to take care of the severely wounded. with tax income in 2015 tax money flowing to washington, the highest in history. you would think they would peel off enough money to take care of a relatively few people who are

debilitated like this. >> you would think. specially when you see how money gets wasted by the government. it's infuriating to know there are still veterans out there who are wounded who don't even have a bed to sleep on. just the other day, we got a request for a wounded veteran who was returning back to his apartment from a hospital and he didn't have a bed. he was sleeping on the floor with his 7 1/2-month wife. we provided them with a bed. i think the private sector has been very -- actually, very very good. in the last 14 years, a lot of organizations like the independence fund, like the gary sinise foundation, like the semper fi fund, i work with the disabled veterans who have been around for over 90 years advocating for veterans, there are a lot of good nonprofit organizations out there filling the gaps. if they didn't exist, it would be a -- >> all right. so you tour around with your band, lieutenant dan band off the forrest gump role that you

played in. we're going to do something with you in new york city in may. sinise and o'reilly, how much charisma, is that, okay? we will announce what it is and i'm sure it will sell out and we'll raise a lot of money. you're also getting into the criminal minds franchise on cbs, is that correct? >> i am. we start shooting tomorrow. i'm doing an episode of the criminal minds. >> are you a good guy or bad guy? >> of course. >> trekking down the criminal mind people, right? those shows frighten me. there's a lot of stethoscopes, and you're looking at blood and stuff. i don't know. but you know what, i think it's karma, your career is very very good, but you give back more than any other actor in hollywood. i think sinise is the tops on give-backs. >> thank you, bill. go to gary sinise foundation.org. we have a lot of various programs. my band, the lieutenant dan band, is a program of the gary sinise foundation. i don't make any money from the band. >> nope. >> it's supported just to help me with the military mission

tip of the day, are you a gifted person. bill thank you for an a-plus interview with david axelrod. you hit him hard, tough questions. thank you for being a voice of the people. fan tas tick interview with axelrod. dr. seymour bill i'm sorry to say, no matter how hard you try, you are outflanked and outsmarted by mr. axelrod. first of all, doctor, i don't believe you are sorry for anything. you're entitled to your opinion i just hope it's an honest one.

reilly, good job of appearing on the axelrod show. what's next, msnbc? robby, great debate with david axelrod. karl rove is yucking it up with david axelrod. can you see churchill yucking it up with hitler? you'll see that winston churchill and stalin attended the opera together. listening to mr. axelrod it is easy to see how president obama won two elections, he is an excellent spin master. from florida the jessie waters segment is not funny to think that subjects are voters saddens my hearts, weakens my knees and upsets my stomach. after seeing the interview by jess ri waters i think they should let 10-year-olds vote.

nevada, just finished "killing patton," fantastic book. did you examine claims that george patton was an anti-semite? we found out that he pretty much was anti-everybody. he was a crusty old guy who took shots at just about everybody on earth. it is an examination of the last five months of the war in europe and how general patton wound up dead. in that framework, the book delivers everything relevant about george patton, so we hope you check it out. finally tonight, the tip of the day, are you a mean, vindictive s.o.b. or d.o.b.? pete from alabama wrote to me last night saying bill, you told kelly you feel sorry for brian williams. what gives? i could not be more happy that he got caught and ruined whatever credibility he still possessed. so pete is happy. why? mr. williams is suffering.
5:59 pm
i suspect, pete you see him as a liberal man who has advanced his ideology on his newscast. that's a legitimate beef. but not large enough to celebrate his demise. there comes a time when every person has to decide how to treat those with whom they disagree. not respecting mr. williams fine. wishing him ill? vindictive. that's the tip of the day. that's it for us tonight. check out the factor website which is different from bill o'reilly.com. we would like you to spout off about the factor anywhere in the world. if you wish to opine, word of the day, do not be a snollygoster when writing to the factor. have a good time out here in l.a. 82 today? going to the laker game tonight? the lakers have won like nine games this year. but, you know, again, thanks for

watching us. miss megyn is next. remember the spin stops here california, we're definitely looking out for you. breaking tonight, brian williams has been suspended without pay effective immediately. welcome to "the kelly file," everyone, i'm mee gangyn kelly. williams has been off the air since last week, he took himself off the air after falsely suggesting that a helicopter he was traveling in back in 2003 in iraq came under fire. it was a story he has been repeating for years. but only caught up to him after veterans who were with him at the time of that event started to publicly speak out. nbc issuing a memo to staffers saying, brian williams' actions were wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in his position.
