the victim's husband now says his family knows the suspect. this is brand new. we'll try to get to the bottom of this. let's get to it. >> thank good news it's friday from the fox news deck. a united states military commander is revealing details of a plan to take back iraq's second largest city. the city is mosul, in northern iraq about 250 miles north and west of baghdad. the militants took control there last summer. according to a u.s. military commander 20,000k83ç÷ to 25,000 iraqi troops will take part in the mission. in addition a kurdish peshmerga fight are group will be there. the operation is spoused to start either april or may, and the stated goal is to retake the city before the holy month offñ8ñw ramadan which beginnings in june. officials have not decided

militia that will basically be in power there. on the flip side if you're that sunni militia you don't want to go in and bleed and die just to hand over the car and wealth of mosul back to the baghdad government headed by the shea. this is a massive sectarian divide and that's the needle that the administration has to figure out how to thread and that we have seen almost no evidence we have an idea how to do that. >> there's never been a suggestiony dhnx#ç theç kurds would get in there, that -- as jennifer just reported, they said they won't do that. you could really use the peshmerga. they proved their worth. >> they have. but if you think about it, really what they're trying to do is seal off the north and west with the peshmerg good if they can hold the line and have their own section they'll have their own home lamp -- homeland in that section. no reason they want to fight on ball of soup citizen or shia. >> you wonder who what level we're talking about ground assistance from the united states and what political obstacles that will find in washington.

standoff and trying to arrest the suspect. soon after we learn the cops put him in cuffs, a 19-year-old named eric nosh. a neighbor of the family. known him for a long time. victim's husband says his wife helped take care of that guy, and often met him to talk at a nearby park after his father killed himself back in 2010. >> my wife spent countless hours at that park consoling this boy, and he is probably watching this right now and i know he has to feel bad because she was really good to him. she fed him. she gave him money. she told him to pull his pants up and to be a man. more times than i can count. >> the husband sugñkhc;ç he wanted to reveal the details to protect the -- waited to reveal it to protect the ongoing investigation. which -- i don't know. earlier this week several days into the investigation police revealed that the mother and her armed son went out looking for the suspect after an earlier

confrontation. now we know how they knew where to look. yesterday s.w.a.t. teams surrounded the suspect's home, asking neighbors and camera crews to get all clear from the area. they were worried that something might go wrong. it all went down just a block from the scene of last week's shooting. jonathan hunt is live in our west coast newsroom now. a lot of emotion on all sides of this arrest. >> reporter: certainly were, shep. this standoff at the home of eric nosh, his mother's house where he lived, lasted two hours now. obviously the local tv stations in vegas heard about it, they sent their live trucks and cameras there and then eric noshs mother showed up. listen here. >> getq-]oxw [bleep] off. that's my house. and that is my son. >> reporter: now, a short time after thatsó6hofq tammy meyers pus robert meyers also turned up at the scene. he was very emotional there.

he called eric nosh quote, an animal. later having gathered himself a little more, he spoke again about what the family knew about eric nosh.g/çyçw3ç listen again. >> he knew where i lived. we knew how bad he was about didn't know he was this bad. he had gotten to this point. >> reporter: you can still feel the emotion in robert meyers' voice there, obviously, and the emotion on both sides shows what a tragedy this is. not for one but for two families shep. >> any other suspects here or is this it? >> reporter: police say they are looking for anotherb( suspect, possible accomplice of eric nosh, and they expect in fact to make an arrest within the next couple of days. they do also say though, shep, that eric nosh they believe was the shooter in this case. what we're not clear on of course again, is the exact sequence of events.

they have said that tammy meyers after the initial clash on the road went back, found her 22-year-old son, brandon who shoe knew had a gun, and they went looking for eric nosh. they went black to the meyers home and that's when eric nosh showed up and a gunfight happened. what we do not know for sure, shep is who shot first and who could claim that they were shooting in self-defense. obviously we will, we assume get all the facts in this case as the legal process plays out. that will begin with eric nos h's first court appearance on monday morning. >> jonathan thank you, sir. a word from the state department now that it's failed to keep hackers from breaking into its computer network, months after a major security breach. we'll speak with "wall street journal" reporter who broke the story next. you know, just because your bladder

the justice department will ask a federal court toix;vlift the judge's order that temporarily is blocking president obama's executive action on immigration according to the white house. it says that the administration is also planninpeal the judge's decision. the white house says president obama does indeed have the authority to delay deportation for about five million immigrants who came to the country illegally. republican leaders say the president abused his power by taking action without the congress. hackers still have access to the state department's computer network three months after the agency confirmed it breached its unclassified e-mail system. that what sources tell "the wall street journal" newspaper. it reports officials repeatedly tried and failed to secure the network. as the journal reports each time investigators fine one of the hackers' tools and block it, the hackers tweak it a little bit and slip right past security.

the newspaper reports reports there are signs russia may be involved in the cyber attacks. sources tell "the wall street journal" that so far the hackers have accessed only unclassified information but reports unclassified materials can stale contain sensitive intelligence. danny is a reporter who broke the story for "the wall street journal" and joins us live. all unclassified and yet sensitive. help me with this. >> exactly. and thank you for having me. what is going on here is they got into an unclassified network, about that is -- you know how you talk to colleagues in e-mail. you maybe say more than you probably should in e-mails. i know i do. >> yep. >> and so that what is going on here. even though this is only the unclassified network there's still a lot of intel in=ñ>ñi] there. especially what is going on in ukraine and other parts of the world. this is how employees of the state department talk about things in a free-flowing manner.
