men from minnesota have traveled to somalia to fight for al-shabab and other terrorist groups since 2007. why has minneapolis and minnesota become such an epi center of radicalization? let's talk to an investigative reporter who joins us from a chilly minneapolis. good morning tom. >> minnesotaans are a stoic lot. it was one thing when we talked about jihadists leaving minnesota to fight elsewhere but this is a game changer to have someone openly eliciting a lone wolf attack at our mall in minnesota. for an hour al shab talks about the west gate attack in nairobi that killed 67 people and then a graphic showing the mall of america at the end of this video and he says we want a jihadist to have a similar attack against the mall of america. it even has g.p.s. coordinates in the corner that have a specific place

fabric here in minnesota. but we have young people here who are second generation, have a lot of problems the second generation group usually does of any kind of immigrant group. we have high unemployment gaps in social services, a very low graduation rate for young somalis and i think this was a vulnerable group. how is it happening? a lot of it is social media, some is recruiters on the ground. it is a real mix. it happens sometimes in the mosque but not always in the mosque. it is one of those very hard things to get your hands around which is why they had that white house summit last week on antiradicalism trying to come up with tools that can work not only in minneapolis but around the country as well. >> nobody knows more about the terror situation out in minneapolis than you do, tom. thanks for getting up with us this monday. an armed robber tries to take over a drug store but the pharmacist has a prescription for the problem. his own gun.
