two young daughters walk across the bridge honoring and remembering and celebrating the progress that this country has made and honoring and paying tribute to those who went those steps 50 years ago. we just heard from the reverend jesse jackson talking about the meaningful tribute that he had and the people who were crying and walking up to him asking him, imploring him, thanking him for the civil rights movement of this country. just a few hours ago, mourners gathered in prescott, arizona to remember international aid worker kayla mueller. the 26-year-old was the fourth american to die in isis captivity. mueller was captured back in 2013 after leaving a doctors without borders hospital in syria. u.s. officials confirmed her death last month but have not verified claims by isis that she

was killed in a jordanian air strike. will carr has more from or west coast newsroom. will? >> this is quite an emotional ceremony. we heard from a number of kayla mueller's closest friends and family, including her mom, who choked up while she was reading a letter that kayla had sent her while in captivity. we also heard from senator john mccain, who actually teared up during a moment himself. he called kayla an extraordinary young woman and said she was a powerful example to follow. mueller was captured by isis in august of 2013 while she was in syria before she had traveled all over the world protesting genocide, raising awareness for hiv and aids and peacefully standing up for a number of other humanitarian efforts. listen to mueller talk about the syrian conflict in a youtube video she made back in 2011. >> i am in solidarity with the syrian people. i reject the brutality and killing that the syrian authorities are committing

tennessee like gadhafi did. they're not taking everything down and allowing full access like south africa. so what are they doing to make sure they don't build a bomb? >> that's the key point that netanyahu made in his speech. they get essentially to run up to the line of everything you do to do a nuclear weapons program and there are no concrete assurances here that they won't build a bomb in the future. so to say well, we worked out the technical details, nobody really thinks the technical details are relevant because all the prohibitions are reversible. so it's just like holding the sword of damocles over the reej op region's head for ten years. >> do you think what they are allowed to do and allowed to keep, they would have the potential to build a nuclear bomb if they wanted? >> the deal as we currently understand it lets them run up to that line and stop. so then -- >> can they stop? do we have them stop or do they

decide to stop? >> well that's the problem. first of all, they could renege the deal whenever they wanted to or they can cheat. in either case they can essentially have what they have now which is the capacity to go nuclear when they want to. people forget, the iranian negotiating strategy here is virtually identical to the north korean strategy which is stringing along people between a combination of cheating and accommodating, then abrogating and going nuclear at the point they felt was right for them. >> do you think we would know? is it possible we would know if they are going nuclear unlike north korea? >> well america's got a great history of this. we guessed wrong in every single power that went nuclear including our own, guessing when we were going to do it. our track record on this isn't really super awesomely great. >> finally, what about those who say look, any deal is better than no deal at all because if they have no deal, they can do whatever they want. >> they are either idiots or

brian has the details from our new york city newsroom. what is going on? >> reporter: the ncaa's eight-year investigation found dozens of violations against syracuse's storied basketball program and laid much of the fault on the national championship coach, jim boeheim. according to the report released friday, syracuse basketball violated rules over the course of the decade from 2001 to 2012. the report highlighted academic fraud student athletes had their papers and assignments completed by staff, including the director of men's basketball operations. the school also failed to follow and enforce its own written drug policy. players who tested positive for drugs more than once were allowed to play in games. players received illegal benefits, including more than $8,000 in cash. as a result the school will now be on probation for the next five years. they will lose 12 scholarships and they self-imposed a post season ban this year. the hammer, though falling hard

on coach boeheim, who was suspended for half of his atlantic coast conference games next season and will have to vacate more than 100 wins. the ncaa says boeheim failed to monitor his staff. the punishment also means the second all time winningest division one coach would fall to sixth all time. in a statement boeheim said in part i am disappointed with many of the findings and conclusions as stated in the stated in the infractions report. the committee chose to ignore the effort which is i have undertaken over the past 37 years to promote an atmosphere of compliance within the men's basketball program. the university defended coach boeheim saying there is no evidence he was a wafrtware of the violations and expected to appeal. but a tough hit for any institution. >> and speaking of basketball and march madness, it hasn't started yet but do you have -- hoping for any of your favorite teams to get in?
