here tonight with reaction. a fraternity at the university of oklahoma is kicked off campus after a racist video is uncovered. senate republicans send a letter to the leaders of iran warning them about striking a deal with the white house and the obama administration and democrats are not happy. >> it's somewhat ironic to see some members of congress wanting to make common cause with the hardliners in iran. >> ralph peters weighs in tonight. "hannity" starts right here, right now. the top story tonight. former secretary of state hillary clinton finally stepped up and answered questions about her use of a personal e-mail address during her time at the state department. now, here is how she tried to brush away the controversy. >> there are four things i want the public to know. first, when i got to work as secretary of state i opted for

convenience to use my personal e-mail account, which was allowed by the state department. second the vast majority of my work e-mails went to government employees at their government addresses. which meant they were captured and preserved immediately. third, after i left office the state department asked former secretaries of state for our assistance in providing copies of work related e-mails from our personal accounts. i responded right away and provided all my e-mails that could possibly be work related. fourth, i took the unprecedented step of asking that the state department make all my work related e-mails public for everyone to see. looking back, it would have been better for me to use two separate phones and two e-mail

accounts. i thought using one device would be simpler, and obviously it hasn't worked out that way. >> all right. here now is the author of the undocumented, mark stein. don't say you were not warned, morocco stein is here with us. good to see you. we found inconsistencies number one. number two, you can actually put -- you can put two e-mail addresses on one device. just a side note. >> right. >> but here's what hillary said back in 2007, about secret e-mails in government. >> our constitution is being shredded. we know about the secret wiretaps. we know about the secret military tribunals, the secret white house e-mail accounts. it is a stunning record of secrecy and corruption of cronyism run amok. >> now, we found some inconsistencies, mark. she said she used it out of convenience. i'm going to play that with her admitting she had up to four devices. so she does have a lot of

devices. watch this. >> i opted for convenience to use my personal e-mail account which was allowed by the state department, because i thought it would be easier to carry just one device for my work and for my personal e-mails instead of two. looking back it would have been better if i simply used a second e-mail account and carried a second phone but at the time this didn't seem like an issue. >> iphone or android? >> iphone. in full disclosure, and a blackberry. i have a, you know an ipad a mini ipad iphone and blackberry. >> she has four. you can put two e-mail addresses on one device. what is your reaction to that? >> right right. well this is queen mary

antoinette, and not even good spin at that. this doesn't pass any smell test. she turned over 55,000 e-mails. that works out to about 38 a day, while she was secretary of state. the average person in business receives something like 121 business e-mails a day. so this supposedly high number of e-mails that she's turned over doesn't sound right to me, doesn't pass the smell test. and everything else she says she deleted after the state department requested her e-mails. so she, she rather than any government guidelines has been the arbiter of what e-mails she's willing to let into the public record. and americans of the chumps of the planet for putting up with this. >> the average person, according to forbes in 2012, average e-mail user gets 147 e-mail messages a day. >> right. >> break this down and she's talking about 20. >> right. >> but the question is, she says

it was legal, and lawful and that all was recorded because i sent it to other people. their accounts that were recorded. because we have a record of that. >> yeah. >> she said -- go ahead. >> that's right. because she says, well, don't worry, they're in there somewhere. because she replied to the assistant deputy, assistant deputy secretary of whatever and it's in his file. you try that with the irs this time next month, sean. you say, well, i'm not telling you what income i have, because the guy who wrote me the check at fox news has already told you what i earn. and the guy who writes me the check for the radio show has already told you what you earn. and see how far you get with the irs. >> bring me a cake with a file at that point. >> right. >> there's even a bigger controversy emerging here. and i thought this was the worst answer she could possibly give. she was asked by andrea mitchell who very apologetically asked the

question about the clinton foundation taking money from countries like saudi arabia, and here's how she answered that. >> with respect to the foundation, i am very proud of the work the foundation does. i'm very proud of the hundreds of thousands of people who support the work of the foundation. and the results that have been achieved for people here at home and around the world. and i think that we are very clear about where we stand. certainly where i stand on all of these issues. there can't be any mistake about my passion concerning women's rights here at home and around the world. so i think that people who want to support the foundation know full well what it is we stand for, and what we're working on. >> the question was why do you accept money at the clinton foundation from countries that treat women horribly? as you answered, by the way, the treatment of women in saudi

arabia kuwait, and oman, other places, all she basically said is donate. i'm proud of what we do. what is your reaction? >> she does nothing for women's rights in those places. and that's not why those governments, some of the most repulsive governments on the planet, give her money. they give money to the clinton foundation in return for something. even if it's just to buy a hearing in washington. for example the deal between general electric and i think it was the algerian government. so they're not giving money because the saudis are the most charitable people on the planet. again there's some -- this is the clintons being clintons. they did this for eight years in the 1990s, and this particular leopard does not change her spots. and it boils down to a consistent position. the rules are for little people. no republicans need be involved

in these scandals. it was a democrat ambassador to kenya that hillary clinton's state department fired because he used private e-mail. it was the cia director of a democrat administration, general petraeus, who pleaded guilty to a crime for having supposedly classified material at his home. she has by her own admission all the classified material from her time as secretary of state went to this private e-mail address. why is it that if you're a low-level democrat ambassador, you have to be -- you have to obey the rules. but the democrat ambassador's boss, you don't. this is which democrat has to obey the law. >> we have the former ambassador that you're referring to who lost his job and here's what he has to say. >> as i was going through it i did not perceive that it was a double standard. because i did not know of

secretary clinton's use of commercial e-mail account. but as i reflected on it over the last couple of days it does appear like there was a different standard that was used in my case, and that has been used in hers. >> and the president first denied that he knew about the account. but then we found out he was e-mailing with her on her private account. >> right. >> how is it possible that there's all these gaps that trey gowdy talked about on a trip to libya, and benghazi that they've been requesting now for two years? what would happen if you did that, mark stein? >> yeah i wouldn't get anywhere with that. and the -- because she's hillary, we're asked to accept that she has the right to choose which laws to obey. that's big ben behind me in the background there, sean. the only reason the house of parliament exists is 800 years ago king john was forced to sign magna carte that said even a king has to bow to the law.

800 years later, queen hillary says no no no the laws don't apply to me. the laws are for the little people. >> but you've got to give her credit in one sense. i mean, she's great at spinning. she comes out in the press conference and talks about gender, inequality issues but she didn't mention that her office and the senate paid women 72 cents on the dollar what they were paying men. then she pivots and talks about a letter that 47 republican senators wrote to the iranian leaders saying, hey, we have a constitutional republic here, and if the president doesn't come to us this will be null period of time. so she pivots. she distracts. and she does it fairly well. and this is what she said. >> the recent letter from republican senators was out of step with the best traditions of american leadership. and one has to ask, what was the purpose of this letter. there appear to be two logical answers.

either these senators were trying to be helpful to the iranians, or harmful to the commander in chief in the midst of high stakes international diplomacy. >> now, mark in 2007, she praised speaker pelosi for going to meet with president assad against the wishes of the bush administration. and then, of course, john kerry met with commandant ortega to undermine reagan's policy. >> that's right. >> i don't think she actually has a leg to stand on here, because all these republicans did was write a letter which we'll talk about later in the show. >> no. you know, bill clinton could have pulled that off, that kind of spin. the press conference was just how hand-fisted her attempts to distract were, bringing up this letter saying that the e-mails she deleted were just about wedding plans for chelsea clinton. i know chelsea had one of the most lavish weddings new york state has ever seen. but i don't believe she was

responsible for tens of thousands of e-mails. and this wasn't smooth enough. it all seemed very false. even the idea of actually holding this press conference at the u.n., and having these u.n. reporters ask the questions, she thought, i think, that they were going to ask her easy soft questions. and in fact they showed more teeth those guys, than some of the press corps or on the "today" show or other places. >> the other question was a little rough. do you think this is because you're a woman? i don't know if that was exactly the -- that was sounding like american media to me at that point. >> that guy was the guy from turkey. and i think he drank a little too much of the clinton kool-aid. >> mark steyn thank you for being here. a fraternity at the university of oklahoma has been banished. two students expelled after a

sglnchtsds earlier today hillary clinton finally broke her silence regarding the scandal surrounding her e-mails. it should come as no surprise that the former secretary of state managed to dodge nearly every question drone her way. to help me dig deeper into the unprecedented controversy, we have fox news contributors, doug, from the "washington examiner," rebecca burg is with us. doug, does -- to me i thought especially the question answering about taking the money from the saudis and these countries that mistreat women, i'm proud of my work as a foundation, she didn't answer

the question. it seems she's got to come up with a better answer than that if she can. can she? >> i think there are a lot of unanswered questions. i think there are questions about state sponsors of terrorism, giving the foundation money that obviously she didn't answer, along with the question you raised there. on the e-mails, sean, she didn't address the issue of how the e-mails that she held back were deleted, or withheld. and the security of the server. i think these are unanswered questions. her candidacy i think is intact, but there remain many unanswered questions about the donations and e-mails. >> i thought there was some good questions. because it was such a short press conference, pat. she never answered how did you determine which ones you're going to delete and not delete? why did you delete them? are they still available on the server? can an independent arbiter go in and find them? what about the gaps that trey gowdy is talking about? >> exactly. this was deja vu all over again. i had this horrible feeling in

the pit of my stomach, we've been here before and oh, my god, here with ego again. not only did she not answer, she raised a lot more questions. as you and doug just talked about. it's not a molehill it's a big hill. the mountain behind it are all the contributions from foreign governments and corporations, 26 of whom tried to get work from the state department, by the way. but look at this thing. it's unbelievable. do you remember when richard nixon -- i know we have no sense of history here. but during watergate, president nixon did transcripts of his quote, case, because he didn't want to turn them over. and he produced those and let those out. it did not suffice. because they chose the tapes. and guess what we found out. they missed some, so to speak, including the smoking gun. but you know what there's so many issues. you know, we know that there are other people on the server. you know, she had uma her

closest aide, had an account on it. my question is, were they e-mailing? >> let me go to rebecca. the records law is the records law. state department has their rules. she has -- she's supposed to turn it over. her answer is well, i e-mailed people that had their accounts that were recorded that way. that doesn't suffice her obligation under the law. and under the rules of the state department. secondly, why did she wait two years? and why did she get to be the arbiter of which ones get turned over and which ones don't? why should we believe her? >> that's a question we're asking now, sean why should we believe hillary clinton. and that's the question that republicans are going to continue to raise. that's exactly the reason why this controversy isn't going anywhere. republicans are going to continue to push this for weeks and months to come. don't forget, we also still have the committee on benghazi investigating this as well. recently subpoenaed the state department for hillary's e-mails. and what might rogers the

former chair of the intel committee on the house side suggested today that we might even see a subpoena for the files still on her server. so like you mentioned, the e-mails on that servers potentially bill clinton's e-mails on that server. >> there's a lot to be looked at. i think the fact that she's saying they disappeared, i've deleted them, well, it's not easy to delete something, doug. it seems that based on what the law is that you know we have a committee that's been looking for benghazi mail and they still don't have those e-mails. and she knew what the law was. she talked about secret e-mails in 2007. so this was a deliberate attempt on her part to circumvent the law. true or false? >> this was an attempt today to try to say, i've answered the questions, let's move on. but i agree with you, sean, it's not going to work. davis made a suggestion yesterday on fox that i think is worth taking up.

getting an independent arbiter in to review all aspects of the e-mails issue for hillary. with regard to benghazi, with the e-mails deleted, whatever. i think there are more questions now as pat suggested than there were before today. the other thing, sean that i think is worth saying hillary is now at the behest of the obama administration. today she spoke out against the republican senators who have said to the iranians you can't violate the agreement with their 47 signatories of the letter. this forces her to kowtow more to their line. >> by the way, pat let me play hillary from back a number of years ago. she said we have a right to disagree, and debate with any administration. so we have a right to ask these questions. because she reminded us of that. >> i am sick and tired of people who say if you debate and disagree with this

administration somehow you're not patriotic. and we should stand up and say, we are americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration. >> we have a right, don't we pat? real quick because we're running out of time. >> of course we do. one thing we've got to get at, we know this server has been hacked because we have the bloomenthal hacking that took place with her in which he was sending her hundreds of -- or dozens of e-mails about foreign policy. there is more here -- doug's right. somebody's got to be the arbiter. and she has just blown this up. >> rebecca? last word. >> i would just point out, sean, that the bottom line here with this controversy with her e-mails, and with the foundation, is that these controversies are really just reinforcing the bad ideas that people already have about hillary and bill clinton that they are not transparent, that they're not forthcoming with information about themselves and about their jobs. and that they think they are

welcome back to "hannity." the university of oklahoma has kicked the sigma alpha epsilon fraternity off campus and expelled two students. pretty unbelievable.

now, at a press release today, the university president said he expelled the students because they created a hostile learning environment for others. the statement continues to say, i have emphasized that there's zero tolerance for this kind of threatening racist behavior at the university of oklahoma. fraternity members must remove all their belongings from the frat house by midnight tonight. the house had the greek letters taken down. joining me is university oklahoma senior and journalism major, bajohn, and a junior who is also a member of the black student union. what was your reaction to the tape? >> well, my first reaction to the tape, i was in complete and utter disgust. being a student from oklahoma, we're surrounded by different people from different parts of the world. so we're used to being together. and being able to play together

go to school together, everything. it was really an eye opener to me. but after seeing it, this helped me to realize there are still people in this world that hate others. >> is that generally -- i've been to oklahoma quite a bit. i know the university well. i didn't see any of that in the people that i saw on campus. i saw a pretty happy place where everybody had kind of a lot of good school spirit. your reaction? >> right. as a student journalist, i've tried to remain objective and keep my opinions to myself. as far as the campus goes this does speak to a minority group. or as a small group on campus. i don't want to tarnish ou's reputation. the president took a firm stance xhedly saying racists and bigots will not be tolerated here at ou. students are incredibly pleased with his leadership on campus and the action he has taken. >> should all of the kids

should they really dig down deep into this tape, and all the kids that were singing this disgraceful song, should they all be kicked out? >> like i said, i don't want to discuss my personal opinions, being a journalist. but according to the student conduct at the university if a student conducts a hostile environment, that can be grounds to serve as expulsion. i know ou has legal analysts working around the clock to investigate this issue, and solve this issue. according to law. >> william, what do you think? >> well, i think i'm very proud of the president's actions he's taken so far. he's a really great speaker and great role model to us. i believe that we should continue the investigation on this matter. because we want to create a positive environment for students to learn on campus. and if you have people such as this that are creating these negative environments, and saying these racial slurs that are offensive to others, these

are the people that are going to be going out into our communities as future leaders. so we want to do everything we can to make sure we stop this evil before it spreads. >> well said. thank you for being with us. appreciate it. here with more reaction juan williams. juan, you know, what do you do? you feel like taking these kids and just slapping them not physically, in the head. but what's wrong with you? what are you thinking? what are you doing? what century are you living in? it angers you. >> yeah. you know it disappoints me. i think both of us have been there. you know, j.v. watts is from oklahoma. >> oh, yeah. i've been down to oklahoma with him. >> yeah. and not only that, david borne is a senator here in d.c., now president. i remember that he took a man named joseph perkins who was the first black ambassador to south africa to the university made him a distinguished scholar there. i would never have guessed that

this would happen there. and i might add, don't forget, oklahoma city and the thunder, with kevin durant, it seems they've been making great strides. but i've got to tell you, sean it hurt my heart, when i heard them say they could be swinging from a tree but they'll never sign with ase, you know, the fraternity? the idea that they would go back in history for that kind of negative. but they don't stop and say but that is a history that we worked as americans as an american family to try to get beyond to overcome in the language -- if they would not take up what happened in selma last weekend when you had president bush and president obama i think those kids are locked into someplace. i always thought college is where you got to know other people. one of your previous guests said he got to know them because his mother or father is in the military at fort sill. i went to college and for me it was an opportunity to get to

know people. these guys, i don't think they're getting to know anybody but themselves. >> j.c. watts is a good friend of mine. he loves the sooners. you know, had a great experience there. >> exactly. >> and here i guess is the question. kids can be stupid. do you think this was more -- they're so charged up with it that's where i get really angry. it wasn't slik a slip. it was a song. it went on and on. is this stupidity? ignorance? i'm trying to figure out what should the punishment be for all the kids on the bus? >> the thing about what you just said caught my attention as well. it's a song. and then we heard from some others that in fact this song was something that had been sung at different occasions previously. you know, it's just part of the culture. it wasn't a slip. it wasn't like, oh, somebody in anger, two guys fighting and somebody said something untoward. this was part of the way they

thought. >> that word is thrown around a lot in culture. >> no no, you're talking about the "n" word. i'm talking about the idea that people hanging from trees, sean. >> believe me, i hear you. and it's -- at this point i think anyone who was involved in it deserves to get expelled at that point. you know what they've got to hopefully wake up and join the civilized world a little bit. you think the president handled it well? >> oh, yeah. i was interested to see the young people you had on say that they're really looking to borne as the beacon of leadership on this. he has great respect on the campus. clearly, i think the way he handled it is sending a signal. he is teaching he is a great teacher at this moment for everybody on that campus. and i've got to tell you everybody in this college world. >> don't you believe that this is a blip? most kids aren't like this.

the vast majority overwhelming number of kids in colleges, they may be doing stupid things but i don't think this is in the heart of the vast majority of the kids in this country. do you believe that? >> no i don't think it's the majority of kids that are. i think we live in a more -- demographically obviously, more diverse american society. but what troubles me still is the fraternity system at the university of oklahoma is segregated, sean. people say that's part of the tradition. >> i've got to end it. >> we had a problem last year at the university of alabama where one of the sororities wouldn't let in a black girl, and they said it was really the older members of the sorority they didn't want that in there. but i think sometimes the young people have to -- you know sometimes have to stand up to some of the old traditions and say it's just not right. that's not the way you treat another partnership. especially if you're a christian. i just don't see it. >> well said. and i agree wholeheartedly. appreciate it. my next guest mike meyers

welcome back to "hannity." we continue with reaction to the ratist video of the university of oklahoma. in the "new york daily news," mike meyers of the new york civil rights coalition said that the school should not have expelled the students who led the chant. he's here to explain why along with david webb. why? these kids don't deserve the honor of being there. >> that's your opinion. >> that's right that's my opinion.

>> the president said they're bigots. you don't expel people for sounding stupid. will you let me finish my point? first of all, racist speech as you obviously know is protected by the first amendment. the united states of america is different from all other countries. we're unique. we protect the speech for which we disagree. here you have the president of a university, a public university, which means he's a government official saying, i'm going to punish you because i don't like what you said. let me ask you this question. rap and rapping on a bus? can you imagine black students on the bus racist, and getting them on video and saying -- >> but here's the problem. >> are they going to be expelled? no. >> schools -- schools and workplaces have the right to set standards. this is unacceptable.

>> behavior may be unacceptable. but the public university is governed by the first amendment. you can't set a rule that says you can't have free speech. >> so hang on to your hats. because there's going to be people who accuse me of all kinds of things out of this. first of all we've got to separate it. does the university have a code of conduct when you go there as a student that says how you will behave. that should be investigated from that point. i'm with michael on this. skokie, illinois, 1977 -- no let me -- i'm not defending the bigoted racist behavior of these kids. >> we're talking about people hanging from trees. >> but sean, i'm defending the first amendment over the racist and bigoted behavior of these students. >> i support the first amendment. they can be bigoted all they want, but they don't have to be allowed in a public university. >> why punish, because not all
