brooklyn, new york. >> heather childers live with us. what do you know today? >> we know he was trained to protect america, now the justice department has accused tairod pugh of flying from egypt to turkey in an effort to become an isis fighter in syria. prosecutors say that he made the move after he was fired as an airline mechanic in the middle east. pugh was arrested in january and then sent back to egypt before he could carry out his plan. that is when egyptian authorities found his nearly 200 propaganda videos on his laptop. some depicting isis killing prisoners. they also found border crossing information and several electronic devices wiped clean of data. pugh, a new jersey native, as you mentioned served in the air force from 1986 to 1990. he was trained on weapons systems, engines and navigation. he worked as a plane mechanic for several companies, including american airlines after leaving

the air force. >> this is a person who has inside information as to a military planes, military operations, things of this nature. this is somebody that could go potentially to isis and divulge this information. >> pugh allegedly wrote a letter to his wife saying this in part, i will use the talents and skills given to me by allah to establish and defend the islamic state. there is only two possible outcomes for me, victory or martyr. pugh is set to be arraigned at a federal court in brooklyn at 11:00 a.m. today. he faces a maximum of 35 years in prison. he expected to plead not guilty. definitely disturbing if someone we trained is now going to use that against us. >> absolutely. we have been keeping an eye on him for a while. after 9/11 he seemed to be on the other side. a lot of neighbors complained against him. >> what could go wrong? he's an airplane mechanic who is

pro 9/11. three minutes after the top of the hour. another fox news alert. celebrations underway in israel, netanyahu and his lakid party cruising to victory. >> they must form a coalition government. what does this mean for one of america's biggest allies? >> john huddy is live in jerusalem with the latest. >> well, this was a surprising victory. and i say that because the exit polls before the election that came out on friday showed that prime minister netanyahu was trailing his opponent, his challenger isaac herzog and the zionist union party. basically israel's labor party. last night prime minister netanyahu surged ahead getting 29 to 30 seat in the 120 seat house compared to herzog's 24 seats roughly. the way it worked is that you need the majority seats in the

house. prime minister netanyahu will work to build and form a coalition government. basically get the other parties to throw their support behind him and also get their seats. get their seats as well. so then building and getting to the magic number of 61 total seats in the house. then cruising to a fourth term as israel's prime minister, which by the way he would be the longest serving prime minister here. so a big upset last night. i was at the lakid party headquarters and i tell you, as you said the crowd was going wild. >> we heard you this morning. thanks. >> thanks for following all of that. he's a great headline in the noex. bibi king. it's a bit of a surprise. they say in the election word that lakid usually polls higher than they actually show. this time it was the opposite. they were polling lower than it actually turned out.

no suspect has been named at the time. there are reports the return address of the envelope was that of a guy who sent multiple packages to the white house since 1995. a tragedy in north carolina a pregnant reality star and her husband now believed murdered. christie cod competed in the eighth season of the food network star and her husband were reported missing this past sunday. police think this man, robert owens murdered them and returned to their north carolina home to steal a laptop, jewelry, and also a handgun. he's a construction worker who was hired to renovate their house. cod was five months pregnant. owens is also suspected in the 2000 disappearance of zeb quinn, his 18-year-old co worker. >> the more potential charges for murder suspect robert durst as police spend hours combing over his texas condominium. officers in california now

because you decided to step in when someone needed it. can you tell us how you met, pastor? >> yes, ma'am. we had just recently started our own church, mercy independent baptist church in north carolina. we were having a fundraiser on a saturday morning. and dawn and his wife happened to be out yard selling and stopped by and paid us a visit. >> you almost didn't get out of the car. this could have been a moment passed by. but you got out, why? >> well, i'm into gospel music. i sing gospel music myself. he had music playing in the church and i heard the music. i was curious to see what they had done to the little church. so i wanted to see inside the church. and so i got out to just be nosy, really, to see what was going on. >> you sure did get out. and what you found was someone willing to save your life. three days afrtd two of you met, pastor, you offered to donate a

kidney. this is just three days after you met. you go in for surgery to do this, which is unbelievable just that alone. it's so kind and loving. what did the doctors find when they go in? >> well, obviously, i wasn't -- i was very incoherent when they found what they found. went in that morning for surgery. the surgery was supposed to take around three hours or so. and i was advised by my wife and family after i woke up that i had been in surgery in excessive amount of time, about seven hours. they said while they were in, that the renal artery going into my kidney, there was an aneurysm. and which shocked me. i work in the medical field as well as pastering a church. i knew that was serious. they told me if they hadn't have found it, which scans had moved previous. i went through extensive testing at duke medical center. it was never caught. they said if they had not have

duty there. this happened. you had limited gear. describe for us what you saw and what happened. >> as we approached the scene, we saw the first lady out in the driveway. according to what we knew, we just thought there was a mother and a daughter still trapped in the house. we didn't know it was the mom that was outside. as we approached the scene, i just went straight to the door trying to look for that person that was still inside. >> you find out that there's a fire, obviously, you have your body camera goes off. that's how we're able to see this footage. you had to get inside. the smoke is so thick you start breaking windows. what did you do get low and follow the screams? >> when i went through the front door, i got on the floor and tried to get my way in the building. i couldn't see far and had to back out. >> we say two weeks on the job here as you were off of training. you had nine years serving in the marines. we thank you for that service.

the the national football league. he weighed the risk versus the reward. my long term health is more important to me than financial gain. they know a lot more today than they did 10 years ago, 25, and 40, 50 years ago. for me, if i had to do it all over again i would do it a thousand times over. growing up -- i assure you chris borland's background is different than my. i grew up in southern south carolina. no panelling, no insulation. weate raccoon and armadillo. i survived for 20 years. i didn't want to survive another 20 or 30 years. i wanted to live. playing in the national football league gave my brother and i for an opportunity not only for us to live but for my grandmother, mom, we both had kids. it gave us an opportunity for our kids to live. as a parent, you always say i want better for my kids than i had it for myself.

health of your game? >> i understand that playing in the national football league or playing a collision sport. you have to understand, you're playing an inherently dangerous game because you're asking men that's 200 plus pounds to run at a high rate of speed into each other. i look at it like this, i play the lottery. sometimes i play $5 or $10. it increases my chance of winning. doesn't guarantee it. there's a chance you'll have trauma if you play. you're probably more likely to suffer neurological damage down the road. doesn't mean you will. my grandmother, she had all her faculty, but she was in a nursing home her last three years. there are a lot of people that were in there that had dementia, and alzheimer's and they never played football in their lives. i don't go around thinking i played football, for this many years and there is a likelihood. i would not change a thing about what i was able to do for my family. >> all right. absolutely. you made that point.
