he oval office one too many times already we want to know what you think. tell us what you think. that is all the time we have left this evening. thanks for joining us. we'll see you back here tomorrow. the o'reilly factor is on. tonight: >> if you are watching fox news, you get a entirely different reality than if you are watching msnbc. >> the problem for president obama is few are watching msnbc and the power of fox news is growing. bernie goldberg and i will analyze tonight. >> the level of animosity between the president and netanyahu is incredible. >> more problems for the obama administration overseas. as america's best friend in the middle east, israel, may not be that any longer. how does this effect you? a special report coming up. >> sounds like a good idea to me. >> go place to start the discussion? >> yeah. >> what about i just want my coffee? >> also ahead, stimulating racial conversation along with the caffeine at
8:01 pm
starbucks. we'll find out what the folks think. >> i'm just here to have a cup of coffee and go to work. >> caution, you are about to enter the no spin zone. the factor begins right now. ♪ ♪ hi, i'm bill o'reilly. thanks for watching us tonight. seeks the attention of the american voter. that is the subject of this evening's talking points memo. the real reason benjamin netanyahu won re-election in israel is that the people over there are frightened. iran close to a nuclear weapon, terrorism rampant. so voters turn to the tough guy and the liberal candidate was defeated. here in america he we are now at that level. there is not fear in the marketplace, however there is intense struggle for the hearts and minds of american voters, president obama hillary clinton and a the democratic party are all well aware that liberal policies are under fire. and that is a concern going
8:02 pm
forward. >> if you are watching fox news you get an entirely different reality than if you are watching msnbc. so, everything is just like an opinion. but there are hard, cold facts about how things work and who is being responsible and who is not. and the challenge is making sure that voters are aware of that. >> well, facts are funny things. they can be distorted and opinions can be gilsed disguised as facts. here is a perfect example. >> for the first eight years of this century before i came into office, we tried trickle down economics. we slashed taxes for folks at the top stripped out regulations didn't make investments, and the things we know we need to grow, at the end of those 8 years we had soaring deficits, record job losses and an economy in crippling recession.
8:03 pm
>> so let's analyze the president's statement with facts. 2007 under president bush, the median household income in america was $56,436. today after six years of president obama, it's $54,332. unemployment rate today 5.5% under president bush after a few years in office the lowest level was 4.4%. highest federal income tax rate under bush 35%. now close to 40% under president obama. what about the recession? well it didn't happen because of trickle down economics, it happened because the american banking system gave out housing loans to people who couldn't pay them back on a mass scale. also, the federal agencies fannie mae, freddie mac piled up huge amounts of derelict loans. that scam in both the public and private sectors collapsed the economy. so president obama's facts about the recession are
8:04 pm
debatable to say the least. certainly not in stone truth. and, believe me, you will not hear this analysis on the nightly news broadcast or other cable news operations. you will only hear it here on fox news. not because we dislike president obama although some fnc commentators clearly do. it's because people like charles krauthammer, brit hume, megyn kelly, dana perino and others are fact-based analysts. and that is a clear threat to any politician or political party that's trying to deceive people or trying to promote policies that are failures. so to blunt the impact of fox news we're attacked by the left and derided by the other media you see that consistently on msnbc and cnn, which are both collapsing in the ratings. i mean last night i turned on cnn at 9:00 p.m. to see what they were reporting. i saw anthony bore deign eating soup in india or some place. the soup looked good.
8:05 pm
so what we have here is failure to communicate to quote the iconic movie cool hand lou. the liberal press is in decline. fox news is serging, in february the prime time lineup fnc number one in the cable world. not just news we kicked the zombie channel's butt. first two weeks of march same thing. again, that cinelsd of dominance is a severe threat to the far left which needs to marginalize independent and critical voices in order to put hillary clinton into the white house. and that's the memo. now for the top story tonight reaction. joining us from miami the purveyor of bernard goldberg.com mr. goldberg. how much influence do you believe the press will have in the upcoming presidential election? >> that's not an easy question because you have got to figure that 40% have already decided they are going to vote for hillary. another 40%, thereabouts
8:06 pm
have decided they are going to vote against hillary. so that leaves 20%. the mainstream media don't have the clout that they used to. but, if you take the three big old networks, they still have about 25 million people watching every night. so what they do matters. what cable does only matters in terms of fox because fox is is the only one with any numbers. so fox may balance out the 25 million who watch the networks, but they don't have as much clout as they used to. >> they being? >> the old media. >> how about the newspaper industry? i don't think they have any at all anymore. >> >> you are laughs. >> once upon a time editorials endorsing candidates may have meant something. >> not today right? >> that was once upon a time yeah. >> all right. so that the people i'm
8:07 pm
interested in your talking points memo by the way. >> go ahead. >> what i think you went wrong with is not what you put into the memo, that was fine. it's what you left out of the memo. it's true that fox news is going to hold president obama accountable as you just did in ways that liberal media won't. that's absolutely true. but what you left out is the hyperpartisanship on both sides of the media. liberals are -- liberal news organizations are going to play down liberal screwups but fox news is going to play down conservative screwups. >> i disagree with that let me tell you why. >> let me give you a few examples. >> you can do that but i have to come in now because you just made a pretty strong point. >> i have facts to back it up. >> all right. well, hear my facts and then we will give you. that's the way we do it here i have been doing this 19 years and i have a cadre of
