with the attendance secretary. pat would call my mom, hi, maria. we are back on tv monday at noon. and guess what starts right now. 10:04 am
reached. the new deadline end of june and iran and all of the uranium will be in the headlines when the presidential field is largely set. carl cameron has more on the angle of the story. >> reporter: hi, jenna, because it is a big international issue it is expected to be part of the campaign. it has overshadowed hillary clinton's presidential announcement. she was the obama secretary of state for the entire first term of the obama presidency and helped to develop the diplomatic strategy for iran. she issued a statement saying that the islamic republic can never be permited to get a nuclear weapon and i know well that the devil is always in the details in that kind of a negotiation and much more to do and say in the months ahead, but for now, diplomacy deserves a chance to succeed.
10:05 am
>> former florida governor jeb bush cannot stand by the flawed deal. this is president obama's own admission as an effort to deny iran nuclear activities and will instead legitimize. scott walker said before the deal was roached, he would undo it the day he was inaugurated. all came out against the deal except for rand paul who is unavailable because he will announce his candidacy in tuesday. mr. paul has differed and suggesting that diplomacy should not be given up unless we go to war. and hillary clinton it is damned if she was or not. if the deal goes through, republicans will say she helped iran get closer to a bomb, and if it falls apart, she is accused of starting a system that failed.
10:06 am
>> and thank you, carl. >> well hillary clinton could have competition in her expected run for the democratic nomination. she has a huge lead although the gap has closed a bit. a favorable rating of 47 percent down from all- time high of 63 percent in 2012. now a potential opponent is touring new hampshire and acting like a candidate and becoming a target after tough words listen. >> our country benefits from new leadership and perspectives. and let's be honest here, the presidency of the united states is not a crown to be passed between two families. >> let's bring in our political panel. joe trippi. and edrolens former national campaign director for the reagan run and both of them are fox news contributors, joe, some analyst are saying that line
10:07 am
from former maryland governor o'molly that the president so is not a crown to be passed back and forth between two families, they are saying it is the best line. >> it is a great line for omolly to use. a lot of people have that feeling looking at a clinton/bush rematch or bringing back those two names is exactly that. i don't agree with that. i think there is a lot of republicans and democrats that don't agree but it certainly hits pay dirt. >> he has credentials of a two- term governor of a big state has. >> can he make the race? >> no, hillary has the democratic establishment and a front runner and no competition.
10:08 am
o'mally will not raise the resources. i believe he is running for vice-president or position in a cabinet if she gets it. >> if you look at the fox news polls when asked about the democratic preferences. hillary clinton 60 percent and joe boyd boyd and elizabeth warren is virtually tied with the guy sitting vice-president for six years and then governor cuomo and so on. and is this all going to be. is this hillary's contest to lose at this point? >> she will get challenged. i agree with ed the establishment and the party has rallied around her obviously the donor base has. and i do think that somebody is going to emerge out of this friend, whether it is o'malley or not to give her a scare.
10:09 am
there is no coronation in presidential politics. it is not going to happen had. it will be a race at in point. she will have money and strength and party to help her get over the hump if it comes. i would not rule out a scare coming. >> she has fairly high negatives and they are on the increase of late. there are certain number of democratic voters who don't want for hillary clinton going out of the gate. how does she try to overcome that problem? >> she has to run a better campaign and do more effective things than she has done. to a certain extent democrats went through the drama of the clinton years and she was a part of that. some people want a new start and change the direction. in the end of the day she will be the nominee. i am not sure a republican can beat her.
10:10 am
i think she can beat herself. we'll have a strong candidate in the end of the long tedious process. no one will be ahead of her in the polls. in the long-term she's not trained as she once was. she was a good trained candidate with president obama and a long ways from that today. >> joe, you know something about taking a dark horse candidate and putting them in the front of the pack for the howard dean years. do you see that on the democratic or republican side of the race? it can always happen and because of the internet and because of the way that someone can surprise in iowa or early states and the money will roll in. and that can happen on either side. and so look plenty of cases. gary hart gave walter mondale a square in 1984. i worked for the vice-president at the time.
10:11 am
and in today's world with how fast the people can vol terand send money it happens on either side. i don't think hillary clinton or jeb bush and candidates can take anything for granted. >> we'll have to love the sdukz there. >> and survivors of the terrorist attack targeting questions. and targeting a site where christians had targeted to pray. and they were in the dorm for 13 hours as they battle troops and police. there was ambut guity. because they had the gun. and they were matching and there was n immediate. if there was immediate, we could be secured.

>> 147 people were killed, 79 injured in the worst terror attack in kenya in nearly 20 years. >> an incredible survival story to tell you about. a sailor rescued after two months lost at sea. and how he made it back to his family. and there is this. >> the deal would lift sanctions almost immediately and this is the very time iran is stepping up the aggression in terror in the region and beyond. >> prime minister netanyahu is expressing disappointment with the deal. who came out on top in this iran nuclear agreement. our live chat up and running. and click on america's asking to join the conversation.

10:24 am
of discussion after we saw the framework come forward. critics say this lejet myselves a regime that wants to destroy our key ally. >> it means that israel will have to stand by and watch it unfold. i think the israel government which opposed the deal that was announced yesterday has their hands tied and they are not sure what the details will look like by the end of june when a deal is eched out. they are concerned and you already heard prime minister netanyahu talk about the facilities are remaining open. the same one that president obama and secretary of state kerry called to be closed. it looks like a back tracking on the part of the united states and the israelis are word.
10:25 am
they know iran's objective of destroying israel has not changed one bit. >> we heard the prime minister of israel and we read a tweet of the president of iran. here's what he had to say and speaking and the tweets were coming out as he was speak to the iranian people. if other negotiating party fulfills promises, iran will fulfill promises. if they choose different path other options will be available. what do you make of that tweet? what other options is he talking about? >> i think what he is saying that the west better agree to iran's interpretation of what was sketched out in the outline agreement. when we talk about the other options are, we know that iran is destabilizing 4 or 5 other countries in the region and drawing closer to potentially proxy attacks to the israelis and looking at destabilization

of yemen and ongoing war of syria and they can potentially make a dash for a bomb. he's threatening all of the things and this is the leverage that the iranians have right now. >> we mention the final phase over the next three months play out. one of the things it doesn't touch on is iran is a state sponsor of terrorism. and this is important to israel because iran supports hesbollah and hams that wages terrorist attacks on israelis. i wonder what it means for the proxy if you see sanction relief for iran. how would they be empowered and what sort of threat is there to israel? >> the proxies are celebrating the deal because that means an end of the international
10:27 am
sanctions against iran and cash will be flooding into iran and iran's cash flow will be that much easier to sponsor groups like hesbollah and hams, and of course the syrian regime celebrated the deal as well. that's why the israelis are saying that the time deal must include iran accepting the existence of the state of israel. >> where does that leave us? is there anything in the deal that the israelis can accept. the compromise is not what we wanted and this works for us does it work for the other negotiating parties? >> the only thing that the israelis would look at and say it is positive, it could buy them ten years before iran makes a dash for a bomb. but there is awe sunset provision to allow iran to get back to business and making the

10:34 am
principle that the parties can sign their names to it. it is not principle. it is all up in the air and i think the iran thinks they will get more and what they have mad over the past several years. this is below what they say this is the most intrusive inspections of any countries nuclear program that was put in place in the country. and what we are talking about the toughest inspections that are put in place. it is not only the nuclear facilities that are subject to inspection. it is the reprocessing and the uran yaum mines that are subject to inspection and weapon facilities that are subject to inspection. >> what we are talking about and we are still talking about it.

it is a framework for agreement and not an actual agreement. but say the administration gets an agreement to all of. that what do you make of that? >> number one. it is not the most intrusive agreementine by their statement. but the iranians have stiffed for decades. and when we finally sign a deal if we do. it is not the end of the process. but the rest stop between the last two years of negotiations. we will have access to iran's militia facilities. forget about it. the iranians will notlet the ia eian in. and there is no indication that
