officials in north charleston, south carolina, wasting now time firing officer slager after he was charged with shooting an unarmed black man. the whole thing was caught on camera. take a look. well that firing comes as new information is revealed about what would before that camera started rolling. the man who recorded the video tells another news agency there was a struggle. both of them were on the ground. once slager had control of the situation, scott ran to get away from the taser. guilty on all counts. jurors convicting dzhokhar tsarnaev on 30 counts related to the boston marathon bombings. the 21-year-old showing little emotion as each verdict was read. 17 of those charges carry the death penalty.

he would ever support a nuke deal with iran. rand explained part of the problem is that iran currently is interpreting the framework differently than the united states. then it went downhill from there. >> you have had views in the past of foreign policy that were unorthodox. you seemed to change over the years. you once proposed supporting -- >> before we go to -- >> defense spending now you want to increase -- >> look, why don't we let me explain instead of talking over me. before we go through a litany of things you say i changed to. why don't you ask me a question, have i changed my opinion that would be a better way to approach an interview. >> that's tough. it's not a good way to handle it. that was a very fair question. al i thought she had a fair question. that was not a good way to handle it.

be chris christie. chris christie is someone who is quick to answer and react. i was surprised this ended this way. i think it's also day four. we talked about rand paul monday, sunday, monday tuesday wednesday. now we're talking about him thursday. that not necessarily a bad thing. >> true. >> she did start with a laundry list. just ask some questions. he felt she was being a pundit not a journalist. then it devolved. going forward i'm sure he's going to think twice before he takes that approach again. meanwhile, ladies and gentlemen, we've got a good story about how liberty has prevailed at the university of michigan. because an organization there kind of a conglomerate of 300 protesters students and staff there, somehow convinced the university, you cannot show the movie "american sniper," which is a true movie, at the school. you know what? the school caved and they said

antimuslim as a killer. he was a racist they went on to say. >> what i miss about this story, these people weren't iraqis. they were al qaeda in iraq. the person who deserves the credit is the guy who wrote the story. he said wait a second we should be able to see this. he wrote the story and the school reacted the right way. >> the guy who runs -- he's the vice president for student life says late yesterday the initial decision to cancel the movie was not consistent with the high value the university of michigan places on freedom of expression and the respect of the right for students to make their own decisions in such matters. the movie will be shown at the originally scheduled time. freedom of speech prevails. >> they're actually showing an alternative as well. you can see american sniper or

when i listen to less than loving expressions by christians, i get concerned. >> president obama deviating from his prepared remarks to criticize christians at an easter prayer breakfast. >> it's not the first time. joining us now with his is a bishop and president of stand and senior fellow of the family research council. good morning to you. what did you make of the president? >> i think he's got a track record for doing this. going all the way back to his speech in cairo when he said we are not a christian nation. and then at the last prayer breakfast where he took a swipe at christians over the crusades of all things. >> the same thing isis is doing. >> and so i think this president, frankly is not

satisfied to be commander in chief. i think he wants to be high priest over christianity and determine what's right and wrong. >> the president of the catholic league said we have a president who never mentioned the words christians except when he wants to denigrate him do you agree? >> he always compliments islam. this is a curious thing for christians. we just had 150 children killed in kenya. he starts talking and implying at least that people who took a stand in indiana for christian freedom to choose what services they would provide whether to participate in same sex weddings are somehow peopling unlovingly. >> sure. so he bashed christians in your estimation. and he defends islam. why is that? we were talking during the commercial you had a couple theories. >> he grew up in indonesia. his father was a muslim, at

least part of his life. at some point he became a communist. and his pastor, apparently was either a former muslim but always close to a radical. >> we were listening closely. when you hear that clip in the background is saying that you hear a bunch of amen's and laughter. for those in the audience in person laughing and those who agree with what the president is saying right there, what's your message? >> they have become the mouth piece for politicians rather than speaking prophetically to government and telling government thus sayth the lord. that is what they're supposed to do. >> christian leaders need to stand up and if somebody is bashing christianity, regardless of the source you have to stand for it. >> particularly now when they're

welcome back. time for some quick headlines. overnight another scandal unfolding at the secret service as the agency suspends the senior supervisor. a female employee is accusing him of unwanted sexual advances after a work party. d.c. officials are now investigating. >> this man was arrested in texas last year for stolen valor wearing a navy uniform with a trident and purple heart. he skipped bond. and went on the won. authorities are now shipping him back. this cop killer is suffering from complinations related to

diabetes in jail. now he's receiving get well wished from third graders. a supporter hand delivered the notes writing on her website, quote, bring him home. two teachers delivered letters and their student said he chuckled as he read excerpts from the touching letters. what kind of lessons does this teach our kids? here to weigh in is the past president oft philadelphia fraternity order of police who thought against leniency in his case. richard, are you outraged? >> i think it's both alarming and outrageous that any teacher would use a group of innocent seven-year-olds to promote a twisted agenda glorifying murder, glorifying hatred. and glorifying violence. >> what did he do? tell everybody what he did. >> what he did was he cold bloodedly murdered a

philadelphia police officer. he shot him in the back and then as the officer lay slumped against a wall helpless, he leaned over and shot him between the eyes. he has repeatedly claimed he did nothing wrong. but he has never denied shooting the officer. when he was in the hospital, he actually bragged about it. >> so you have this third graders and high school kids write him letters to get well because his blood sugar is high. what should the reaction be trum the school system? >> i think the school system needs to immediately fire any teacher involved in this. and failing that, all the parents who have children in that school system need to reevaluate their further involvement. because these children are now placed in danger by the very people charged with their education. they're being used as tools in somebody's twisted agenda. >> yeah i mean, the teacher is the third grade teacher and the

high school teacher was able to get these letters off to the college professor who went to visit him. he said it was the first time he smiled in a long time. how does that make you feel? >> i think this whole thing of hifz illness is a fraud. i think he was a cash cow when he was on death row. when he was taken off death row, the funding dried up. this is a deliberately orchestrated charade to get him back in the news and get the dollars turned back on. the rag tag hate group supporting him will do anything and stoop to any level to promote his message. >> this anticop movement around the country. it's a snow ball of lack of respect. if my children was forced to write that letter they wouldn't be in that school anymore. thanks so much. >> thank you. 27 minutes after the hour. by the way, let me add this

>> could everyone out there -- have you ever been overdressed at at event and you had to sit through it. >> like the time i dressed up at a halloween party when only the kids were supposed to. >> 26 minutes before the top of the hour. heather has breaking news about isis hacking a tv station. this is a crazy story coming out of france at this hour. an entire french television station is now under control of isis hackers. here is what's happening. overnight supporters of the terror group took over the paris station's social media web pages and all of its television channels. we are told the television channels right now are completely blacked out. the hackers, though, posting id cards of the relatives of french soldiers on their social media pages. this is similar to an incident that happened right here in the united states recently.

right now, only the social media pages are back in control of that television station. we'll bring you more as we get it from france this morning. some brand new details about the germanwings killer co-pilot. investigators now say that lubitz may have spiked the pilot's coffee with a diuretic so that he would have to leave the cockpit and use the bathroom. lubitz reportedly searched for information about different drugs he could yoouz online. last month he locked the pilot out of the cockpit and deliberately crashed the plane killing everyone on board. the white house taking a controversial new step on transgender issues. they have decided to add a gender neutral bathroom for staff and visitors at theouse. this comes on the heels of the president's executive order banning discrimination against lgbt employees of government contracted companies. the newly designated bathroom is located in the eisenhower executive office building.
