discussed killing. backup plan of attacking a u.s. prison. >> just a normal kid who goes off and gets hand-to-hand combat in explosives training with an arm of al qaeda. >> from a somali family given refuge in the united states under a long-term program that has moved muslim somalis into the united states. has it worked well? it's one of the questions swirling around the 2016 presidential primaries. one of the things being debated in new hampshire as republican hopefuls gather there for candidate forum. >> governor chris christie of new jersey. we haven't heard much about him lately. all the hoopla has been around marco rubio and jeb bush. he was there making his case. he is one of the first persons to come out and talk about entitlement reform. is he pushing -- he is going right after social security in a way that people aren't talking about. here was governor chris christie yesterday and

governor jeb bush in new hampshire. take a listen. >> the american people are are anxious. they are filled with with anxiety, not anger. he they are worried about their country and they should be. and the reason for that is absolutely feckless leadership by this president, all he cares now is about his legacy and his library the two l's. the two l's for barack obama is all that's left. legacy and library. >> i have to earn it. nobody is going to give it to me. that is more than apparent. i will share my heart. i will share my ideas to help people move up. and i will share my record because that is the leading indicator of what i could do in the future in terms of leadership. >> the two l's. legacy and library. sort of a nice summation really of the president's main concerns. i think the library is a big thing. they are raising a ton of money for it. the donors to that have a lot of influences specially on environmental policy.

>> governor mike huckabee on "special report" with bret baier last night. may the 5th i'm going to make a huge announcement about whether i'm going to run or not. you connect the dots and decide if you will. before 2008 all signs point to go but my heart is saying no. after a lot of contemplation and consultation this is what he is saying. take a listen. >> i don't think anybody should enter into a decision that is this monumental not just for me but for my entire family without a lot of prayer, a lot of thoughtful consideration, a lot of consultation with friends and family members. and so all a of that is a very important factor in leading up to the decision that i will make and make clear on may the 5th. >> he is going to be on our show a little later this morning. we will pressure him to see if we can bump his may at&t. forget the may ath. >> i ran into huckabee totally random in

washington. >> at chintd? >> not at chipotle. he was so energized and happy. i said what's it like getting out on the road again? he loves it he likes people. i'm not endorsing huckabee obviously but he is just a happy guy. >> you bring up a great point which is the retail politics of this. it shows through when you have candidates out on the trail they have got to be out there for months and months and months. glad handing, and shaking hands. he says he genuinely loves that. >> by the way he has a slightly different take on the world that a lot of these other candidates and not just because he is obviously a strong christian. he is a minister but because he has a different view of economic policy. charles krauthammer touched on, this i thought pretty well last night. watch. >> if he goes only for the evangelical vote he is not going to go anywhere because as george says he has to compete with a lot of other candidates who have appeal. he is different from what he was in 2008. i think he has a more pop police populist appeal.

antiestablishment, not your corporate republican. and he has had this very popular show on fox. he is more widely known. he comes in as somebody who is not just a regional or sectarian candidate. i think he has that advantage. >> we will ask him has he changed from 2008? have his views changed? we'll talk to him shortly. >> he knows what it's like to be in arkansas and go up against the clinton political machine. how can he take that and experience and use that to his ad vantage? >> i covered him when i was there when i was at the newspaper there he was there 10 years as governor. he is not a corporate republican. i think that's the key thing that separates him from a lot of the others. >> we'll be asking him. >> go to our facebook page. ask your questions and we will try to get your questions to the governor here on the show. >> yes, we will. we need to take look at other headlines at this hour. we begin another fox news alert. five australian teenagers arrested in terror plot involving cops. they were inspired by isis.

melbourne police say two 18-year-olds were planning to use quote weapons on officers at event. three other teenagers are in custody on weapons charges. fireball shooting up 100 feet in the air after a gas line ruptures in central california. at least 11 people hurt. three critically. the blast happening at the fresno county sheriff gun range about 200 miles southeast of san francisco. a major highway was closed for three hours. investigators say the explosion was caused when a work crew which included several county jail inmates hit a natural gas line. a chilling confession revealed in newly released documents from the 1995 oklahoma city bombing investigation. executed terrorist timothy mcveigh considered the bombing that killed 168 people a failure because he didn't completely toppled federal building. the confession was found among millions of archived documents donated to a texas history museum by mcveigh's

nice to see you this morning as always. >> thank you, clayton. let's listen to jay johnson on 60 minutes and what he has to say about tracking these guys. let me get your response to this. listen. >> we have in fact kept close tabs on those who we believe have left and those who have come back. a number have been arrested or investigated. and we have systems in place to track these individuals. but you can't know everything. >> all right. so obviously we knew about this guy. tim, is it your contention we should have tracked this guy longer before pulling the trigger? >> you know clayton it's always better to have as much intelligence as possible before you take anybody down especially when they are part of a larger conspiracy. in a situation like this if he was in immediate danger, if a guy had a suicide vest strapped to his body or packing a magazine into an ak 47 and rack ago round and getting ready to kill someone, that's exigent circumstance and take them down immediately. if there is any possibility we can continue

investigation and try to see if he has a support structure if he is getting orders from somewhere and military support from somewhere it's good to know. the other possibility is if you think he is he going to cooperate then maybe talk to him right away. i'm not sure why the investigation had had to be taken down immediately upon his return. >> we have seen this other n. other situations in portland tracking those guys. fake guns luring them in with fake weapons to try to nab them as part of a larger conspiracy. if he is part of a larger network here in the united states, have we now screwed up our chances of finding that larger network by arresting him early? >> well, we he probably put that network under ground if there was a network there. there is a possibility that we could learn from interviews and interrogations what that structure was around him or what it might have been. but i think it's always better, if it's possible and if it's not going to create greater danger for the public to leave him out there and observe him. a lone individual like this there is no organization better in the world than the

mountain creamery in the state of maryland. he won't get out of that money back even though he did nothing wrong. a reason civil asset forfeiture legal loophole that let's the government freeze your business' money, take it use it for whatever they want and not give it back all without evidence of a crime or a trial. let's ask the farmer at the enter of this case who joins us live this morning. we appreciate your coming on this morning. the government took $299,500 from you the money you earned selling eggs and butter. what was their justification for that. >> they said i was breaking federal law because of the way i made my bank deposits. we had no clue it was against the law. we were kind of just making deposits as they came. but two agents showed up one day and wanted to talk to me and i didn't have a problem talking to them because i thought some day somebody would show up and want to know where all the cash came from.

i said sometimes i make 12 or $14,000 a week in farmer's markets and store sales. they kind of had all they needed and they pulled out their paperwork and showed me how they charge me and had scowrlt indicated court date for grand jury. my lawyer was there before they came. i tried to call him right away and couldn't get him. i called him as soon as they left. he called them and they told him the same thing he told me they couldn't see where i was breaking any laws since it was going this far it was going to have to go on through. >> just to be clear, were you ever convicted of a crime? >> no. i was never convicted of anything. >> so you didn't in the eyes of the law do anything wrong and the government just stole your money and never gave it back? >> that's basically what they did qulan to do. my lawyer had no clue. he got ahold of paul who

kind of works through some of these things, been doing it for 30 years. he guided him through the process. once we got in the process it changed because i had gone to the press and he wasn't going to deal with us then. he made a demand that you either pay the 29,000 or if we went to court he would go after the whole 1,290,000 deposited that summer in that account -- 290,000. >> this is so disgusting and immoral that people might imagine you are the only. 75 million in unlegal forfeiture. half of that money never went back to the people who owned testimony one third of the case never involved allegations of criminality much less convictions of it. that's really shocking. hopefully you can get your money back at this point. >> i got my doubts whether that's going to happen. i just want people to understand go to the bank and keep these deposits under 12 and i won't have to fill out the paperwork.

i started with internship and led to a full-time job in los angeles and now working with our sales division in new york. >> hey, congratulations. >> thank you. >> man o man. nyu started started this program last year and going to continue on this year. what has it been like for other students. they are also getting to build resumes. they are building connections. >> right. there is no substitute for the real world. this program fox sports university is the kind of partnership between the academy and industry that you should see in the 21st century. our students got to interface with real top level fox executives and produced real work. it's a big difference to say oh, this is a paper i wrote. and that's the commercial did i. >> when i got this story assignment last night and was reading through it i don't think our producers even knew this is where i got my start in fox sports in college.

i look back at the tape now and say oh man i was horrendous. it got me so excited it got the fuel and fire in my belly and chris, you know, hats off, kudos for you to be able to get this at 27 28 universities. what do you say the future of the program is going to be? >> i think we will continue to expand. we started with 2 it and now we are at 28. next year we will go to 30 and next couple years 50. for us, there is so much opportunity here with these students and with students like anna and the ideas you just said when you were in college you worked on basketball or worked on air. today students are phenomenal. it's amazing what they can do. when we give them real world business challenges to find those solutions they come up with ideas. >> imagine fresh innovative ideas maybe people who have been in the business for decades are missing. >> it started in marketing but we now have the opportunity to branch it out to research and digital and social media and technology. so i think for us there is a great future to deepen the breath of what we he have

course ahead of this may 5th announcement? we don't know yet whether or not you are going to run. what are you doing up there? >> well, right now the mood in new hampshire is sleepy. i think i'm one of about six people who are awake but it will get busy here because there is a big conference first in the nation leadership conference that's going on and i think there is like 173 people who are potentially running for president who will be speaking today. and i will be on that list. >> governor we're going to be talking a lot about you leading up to may 5th. but give us a preview of what may 5th is going to be like. hope arkansas your hometown. childhood home still stands. why hope, arkansas? >> it's not just by birthplace but it's that small town like so many americans have grown up in that really shaped my life my values my perspective. it's also that place where i grew up never thinking that i would see a president in person, never thought i would meet a governor. when i was 8 years old my

dad took me down to hear the governor of arkansas make a speech dedicating a lake. son you may live your whole life and you may never get to meet a governor in person. it's symbolic to me of what america is about. this great country where a kid growing up in a little ren house could have big dreams and live those dreams. there it are a lot of americans who are about to give up on those dreams because it's hard to break out these days if you are starting at the bottom. we have got to change that so, you know, i'm not making the nowment today, i will tell you whether or not i will run on may the 5th. i would certainly encourage to you come to hope arkansas may the 5th. details about tickets and all that stuff will be on my web site at mike huckabee.com. >> charles krauthammer had nice things to say about you last night on "special report." you are different from others in this race because you are not a, quote corporate republican. do you think that's true and if so what does that mean?

>> well, i'm not a corporatist in the sense that i don't believe that the whole country ought to just follow allegiance to corporations. let me be clear i am not against corporations. i'm a big business, small business, all business kind of guy. business ought to all play by the same rules. one of the things that i do fear is we get to the place where sometimes the republican party almost just surrenders to whatever the corporate interests are. i don't think that's smart. for example, if we let corporations engage with multinational trade agreements in which the other countries are cheating, but the u.s. company doesn't mind because it's pot ofable doing it. the government needs to step in and say wait a minute americans are losing jobs. americans are losing the ability to make products. and you don't surrender to the chinese or to the south koreans or japanese because somebody is making bucks if you are doing that over the backs of americans there isinging wrong with that.

while i certainly think a woman is woman of capable of being present and i will probably be running for president in a few short weeks, i also think that gender shouldn't be the basis upon which we make that decision. that's why if hillary clinton faces me on a general debate stage she won't be able to talk about being the first woman president. she won't be able to talk about the war on women. the only thing she'll be able to talk about is her track record, her accomplishments or lack thereof, her policies and plans, which have crushed the middle class and her own track record of a lack of candor and transparency. whether it was email gate or benghazi. >> so you just made news there. >> yeah, probably running for president. >> probably running for president in a few weeks to make that announcement. do you have a date set when you will make that announcement? >> well, you know, we're probably going to do something late april first part of may. so we're coming up on a formal decision and announcement pretty soon here. >> and will you run on the historical fact of a woman should be president? it's time for a woman to be president or more on your record and your leadership?

>> well i'm going to run on the fact that america is at a pivotal point. america is at a point where we need to restore possibilities for all americans. where we have a government that is so big so powerful so costly so complex and so corrupt that only the big, the powerful, the wealthy and well-connected are making it now. and, yes, i will run on my track record having started as a secretary and become a chief executive. having led major charities in this country. having traveled all over the world and met with the most of the world leaders on the stage today. i think i understand the economy. i think i understand the world and who is in it. i understand what it takes to change bureaucracies. i understand technology which is a transformative tool and perhaps most importantly of all i understand executive decision-making which is making a tough call in a tough time with high stakes for which you're prepared to be held accountable. >> you are making a powerful case. carlie northern that thank --

on. this i would come his side for that point of view. he who lives in glasses houses. i don't think anybody should be telling any university like colombia to remove dr. oz from faculty. great reputation as a surgeon number one and number two they don't know what's going on at colombia. some of these doctors have questionable reputations themselves. one of them actually lost his license and went to federal prison for two years for medicaid fraud. how dare he sign a petition to say another doctor should be removed from a faculty. that's a witch-hunt. totally against that. >> as far as critics who say dr. oz is just after the money. he just wants the coin. he says i bring the public information that will help them on their path to be their be we provide multiple points of view including mine which is offered without conflict of interest. that doesn't sit well with certain agendas which distort the facts. critics would say he is distorting the facts because a lot of these products are not firmly tested and backed by the fda. >> i agree with that point. that's where he gets into the weeds. the national institute of

health has a division looking at some of these summents and vitamins none of them are scientifically proven. his show was studied that less than half of what he claims can be proven scientifically. we have him talking in want from of the senate last year defending himself. >> i actually do personally believe in the items that i talk about in the show. i passionately study them. i recognize that oftentimes they don't have the scientific muster to present as fact but nevertheless i would give my audience the advice i give my family all the time. i have given my family these products. >> and you think he really does believe in these products, right? >> i think he does. let me tell you something when i go on television, i take this very seriously. i either research it very carefully, look at the scientific study or something i've done in my private practice or something i have written books or articles about. to just say i'm an expert at something and that's the reason you're doing it is not good enough for me. we take medical accuracy really, really seriously

world you are never going to get a job or get ahead that way. you have to overdeliver and redefine the assignment. make it bigger and over deliver on this bigger aassignment you have created. that's actually what you supposed to do in the real world. the school doesn't get close to teaching that. >> i totally agree with that you have advice in books not study for test but interviews. you interviewed a lot of people at g.e. what did you look at in an interview. >> somebody who was curious, who had a passion. who really cared and who had done the homework about what we were doing. we tell our kids you have got to do -- this is the biggest test of your life your interview. you stayed up all night and pulled an all nighter and drank caffeine and done everything else to stay on this. your job interview know all about the company and interview. know what they are all about. and looking at somebody who is engaged and wants to play on the team. >> we have a friend whose daughter was very bright, gone to a good college, couldn't, you know find a

apparently some parents need some lessons, what are they? >> you stole the word out of my mouth. this is what keeps blinking in my brain common sense. the zoo has lots of safety and protocol measures in place to protect the public and to protect the animals that are there you need to remember and consider yourself a visitor. how would you act around a stranger that you didn't know? you would exhibit a level of respect and reservation that needs to be applied when we go to a zoo. when you go to a zoo. you are there to learn you are there to learn and experience. the last thing you want to dangle over the railings is something that is about the size of an and lope that cheat that like to eat. >> what does that tell you actually that the cheetahs did not attack. they must be so used to being around humans that how do you piece this together? how did the cheetahs not think of this toddler as

food? >> well i think it was very lucky for that toddler that maybe the cheetahs had previously eaten or they were distracted. it is true these animals work with people on a regular basis husband dry for these animals is priority number one for many of the zoos and aquariums in the united states. there are systems in place to make sure that we can help if something does go awry, but the most important thing that people need to keep in mind is to have the common sense. i mean, if you go there, at a zoo and you see a railing that's up to your chest and there is a predator beneath it, why would you put your child to the other side? >> of course, come on. well the sweet spot about the zoo and any of these places whether it's sea world or some zoo animal rights activists say these animals should not be. sweet spot when children want to conservative and treat the environment in

healthy ways. how do we take that away rather than gawking at these animals? >> that's an incredibly important point. you go to the zoo and many of these zoos, keep in mind, anna are in urban communities. for many children, this is their only access to nature. there are many scientists, biologists conservationists around today that were inspired from their first experience in a zoo. as a biologist today with the career that i do and i have was based on my dad who was a boston police officer and would drop me off at the franklin park zoo where i learned about animals. zoos are incredibly important to our communities. we need to teach our children to have respect. these behavior we see young people at zoos isn't limited to zoos. we see it with social media take time with the family. have them drink in the moment and walk away with that special gift about learning about environmental stewardship. >> couldn't have said it better. jeff corwin. thank you so much for your insight today. >> thank you. >> 28 minutes after the hour. next on the rundown white

man, give us some good news. which we need. it's been so miserable. people are tired of hearing us complain. complaining across parts of texas and the south this week because of the very heavy rain they've had. there's more to be had, unfortunately. the pattern overall that we're in, likely not to change. the heaviest this weekend will be done by monday into tuesday. so that's good news. but right now, very heavy rain. we're going to continue to deal with across the central gulf. this is the spot that's seen over ten inches in some spots. and where this dries out we're going to see severe weather because back blind it there's a big batch of cold air. that cold air brought a lot of snow across the central rockies and in towards the wasatch. there's more to be had this weekend. maybe another one to two feet of snow. great news for spring skiing. a lot of that area did not get snow this winter. we're going to see severe weather right here all along tornado alley today. more wind and hail to probably

elected president. we have very few. we can count on one hand. jfk, senator obama. that's about it. >> and you have to go back to warren harding. that was 1920. so it has been a long time. but they are not nervous. the last question i asked them is who do you think will win in the fall? hillary clinton will have billions of dollars. do you think the republicans can win? and a room of about 300 people, only one person thought hillary clinton would be the next question. they have tremendous faith that the american people will wake up, will pay attention to then candidates. will listen to the issues and then in the end, reward the republican. >> it's a wide playing field right now, frank. what do the candidates need to say to emerge from the pack when you can't distinguish. what can one candidate do to stand out from the pack among these voters?

statue of their former governor with a statue of billy graham. now some republicans in north carolina are protesting. they're saying lawmakers should consider other replacements. they're against it. here to weigh in is the founder of carolina rising. great to see you this morning. so on what grounds are people objecting to a billy graham statue? >> good to see you, tucker. you misstated that in the intro. it is north carolina state democrats who have strenuously objected to going ahead and moving forward with a statue of the reverend billy graham. they have come up with a lot of excuses. whether it be procedural. they wanted to consider a lot of alternatives. whether it be actors or basketball coaches. and i think it has taken the republicans by surprise.

i mean, i think they thought this was the most un uncontroversial item they could possibly propose to replace a racist governor. a governor that began his career by instituting the only cuein history and replacing him with the reverend billy graham, which can't actually be done in until the reverend passes. but this would begin the process. >> so just to be clear. so aycock is the governor you're talking about. the complaint was bill li graham is still alive. you're saying the statue wouldn't be there until he passes. what is the complaint democrats have with putting a billy graham statue in the capitol? >> some of them thought the legislation moved too fast. they wanted it to have more debate.

they wanted to consider a long list of people from dean smith, to andy griffith to on and on. but dean smith is a fine, fine man. we honored him when he passed away recently. but we're going to get into basketball coaches. jim at nc state started the cancer foundation. none of them rise up to billy graham, and here's the ironic thing. you know. in the the darkest hours of the clinton administration, in the monica lewinsky scandal, who did they turn to? >> he was a skupulously bipartisan figure. he was also a christian. >> i think that's part of it. remember, hillary clinton will be turning to these people asking for endorsements very soon. does she stand with dr. graham or does she stand with these democrats who voted against dr. graham? >> that's a great question.

see what was going on there. >> what was going on there? >> incredible. it's incredible. >> these children there's a variety of different types of swimming programs for children some are more intent, some based on games and songs but all learning safety skills in the water and learning if they are in a situation they're in danger and they happen to not have help for a second they'll be okay. it's incredible to see a baby go underwater and how they respond. they're holding their breath, open their eyes and looking around. >> babies have a natural reaction to automatically holding their breath. you think it's terrifying but right out of the womb they naturally want to hold their breath. >> it is a reflex they have from the time they're born. you're not starting baby with swimming lessons at 1 week old but they have that reflex and lose the reflex over time if they're not continuing their swimming lessons so it's great to start them early. >> this one is on the cover sort of reminds me of the 1990s

nirvana album cover. i love that. some of the kids look super duper happy but these little kids it's like what's going on. did you have some sigh crabbies too? >> we had a whole range. these are babies. some are going to be in a great mood and some maybe not in the best mood because they missed their nap. overall i thought it was a joyful experience. i don't have a lot of experience with babies before this but i had a great time and to see the dedication from the parents how they are signing up they're there and know how important it is and swim iminstructors how good they are with the children and what they're doing to save lives is inspiring. >> we're looking at behind the scenes footage. was it easier to shoot babies or hollywood actresses who are bigger divas. >> i don't know, i haven't gotten down the actress path yet. >> stay away from that. >> you say naps, many models

would getet angry as well. >> kids a short window you can photograph them in their best light. you're putting lights under the pool underwater for most of the afternoon, how did that play out? >> the babies are only going underwater a couple of times for a second or two. my opportunity to take pictures is super limited. it's difficult to make a book because you don't have much opportunity. i could be with the dogs in a half hour, hour, jumping 50 times. the baby goes up once, and then over again and we're done. >> do you have a favorite picture or baby? tough to pick? >> the mermaid is one of my favorites. the mermaid is incredible and that's a costume mom showed up with she had made. she brought it out and baby ayla had worn the costume a few times so she was used to it. people say how is the mermaid relevant? a lot of the children as part of their lessons they wear clothes
