1:30 am
twitter @juliebafderas. pat is joining us and doug shoan and fox news contributor as well. all right. these are serious allegations. hillary clinton could face federal bribery and corruption charges. the clinton camp says they are conspiracy theories. what say you? >> i've dealt with the clinton foundation and the work i did was devoted to trying to make piece in the world and fight aids in ukraine. i've seen the allegations, particularly the one about uranium one and the sale of the entity giving the russians 20% of the uranium market and it's
1:31 am
very disturbing. my feeling is that they should be investigated but i see no evidence that a bribery was involved i see no evidence of corruption or conspiracy. what i do see evidence of is a rollout of her campaign and ed will have something to say about this in a few minutes that has not been successful. >> and that would be what pat? >> well when you start a campaign and you spend all of it running around being attacked for things you should have taken care of before you announced but you know what she does have problems. this thing coming out that it's a conspiracy doesn't work. this book has no anonymous sources, by the way. it was not given to political reporter and went to investigative reporters and shows a pattern that goes on and on and on which is really disturbing of fundraising and what we don't know yet and which we will have to see is connections to contracts, 67 --
1:32 am
there were 400 companies trying to -- 67 debunked the clinton foundation and contracts from the usaid, which is state, and then all of these people who -- the people in haiti said clinton approved all of the contracts. >> okay. so first of all underreported donations in the millions of dollars -- but that's not all. i mean we're talking about -- that is a huge deal. the clinton foundation is now going to refile 990s for five years. now, making a mistake in a nonprofit organization is typical. you may have to refile once or twice or three times but five times, that's suspicious is it not? >> they just announced that they admitted for taking foreign contributions. >> but is hillary clinton going to admit anything? >> it's been a long history, the
1:33 am
clintons always pressing the line on all fundraising from selling the -- she's a new candidate and probably has the worst rollout i've seen in the 50 years i've been around in american politics. she's been dealing with destroying e-mails. this issue -- if you run for president and she's been waiting eight years to run for president, you get your house in order. the clinton foundation has done great things and you should not lose sight of that. but people wanted to take advantage of it and they did. in her case while secretary of state, she and the former president seenedigned an agreement that they would not take aid that was in conflict and they violated that.
1:34 am
i think she needs to come out and have full transparency. >> iran a top contributor, that company was actually funding iran's projects and we were in a no sanctions zone. and as secretary of state, that's a huge no-no. her top contributor was dealing with iran in the millions of dollars. how does she not know that is going on as secretary of state, doug? >> well the answer is she didn't know. the answer is there are sanctions and it's not clear that the sanctions were violated. but at the very least, what pat and ed are saying which i think is a more general important point, there's got to be a full airing of all of the contributions, where they went and i would make a simple point here julie. the clintons should say now -- and i put a piece on foxnews.com, no more foreign contributions, period until the presidential race is fully resolved and rules can be developed. >> pat, do you think that's
1:35 am
right? >> what should be done pat? >> only 15 cents on the dollar appears to be going to charity. the other problem with it is we have a problem with the servers, where the 30,000 e-mails are deleted and we have at the same time we have all of these questions going on. not only her e-mails but those of her two top aides. i love these arguments, she didn't know or do anything. miss aberdene and mrs. mills were running the state department basically, we don't know what is going on and if you have a real investigation which we must have. 40 years ago we had the watergate scandal. she knows what it is to work on
1:36 am
an impeachment. >> what reason would you have to delete personal e-mails? you still have to forward the personal e-mail to your government -- >> i spent many years of my life in the agency and there's a guidebook and you open it up and it tells you what is government and the preservation of documents is very very important. it's very clear. they decided to go outside because i think that they have been handicapped. they say this is a conspiracy. this is going to be up to "the washington post," "the wall street journal," fox news and other news networks to follow these leads and they will. >> and to be fair here, the author of the book, "clinton cash," went to "the new york times" and to several different
1:37 am
media publications and presented all of the evidence here. >> they said check us out. we're just reporting the facts. >> to me the deal that is of greatest concern is the uranium one deal. >> i want to talk about that after the break. you read my mind. we have to take a quick break and then get into that. also new polling on the trustworthiness of the nation's foremost politicians. the shifting numbers. plus what that could mean for 2016. the fox news political insiders are coming right back and we want to hear from you. what do you think? which presidential hopeful do you think is most trustworthy and why? tweet
1:41 am
joining me. a new fox poll showed that 45% of voters feel that she is honest and trustworthy, though with all of the information coming out, a lot of people are starting to wonder. can we trust this woman as she becomes president? >> you should make that presentation that the majority of the american public don't trust her. >> exactly. >> i can't understand how her numbers are going to possibly get any better. >> they are likely to get worse, julie, because the full brunt of what we've been reporting on fox news and what we've been discussing tonight has not been fully felt. ed you have a reaction to this rollout. it's not been successful. you've been at this game for 50 years. what's your take on it? >> it's the worst rollout i've seen in my life. someone who has been preparing four or eight years to get ready, there's no talk about her vision. i thought that rubio started a day after her, moved to the forefront, made the best attack on her. hillary is about the old and i'm
1:42 am
about the new. >> she was at 54% one year as far as trustworthiness and here's one more reason that someone might have trust issues with her in the conflict with uranium one, the new book "clinton cash" talks about a foreign transaction that enriched major donors to the clinton foundation estimating that 20% of stockpile of uranium that can be used for the weapons under the control of a russian-backed firm. these are huge allegations. >> they are huge allegations. the other thing is what the clinton foundation apparently acknowledged today in which the reporting and the documentary that bret baier hosted "clinton's tangled web," there were some $2 million or more in unreported donations from those affiliated with the company uranium one. this requires further scrutiny. i think any rational and
1:43 am
reasonable person looking at it would say that julie. also to just finish the point that he had he had was quite useful in making within two points of hillary clinton at 45 to 43 marco rubio has been a presidential candidate for less than two weeks. this suggests the magnitude of the problem that the clintons face and the desire for fresh faces. >> foreign policy is going to help marco rubio huge. go ahead. >> i want to come to the point about what doug was talking about, about this uranium issue. this is a national security issue. 20% and projected to be 50% of our uranium is in the control of vladimir putin and the russians. this deal was put together. the former president of the united states got $100 million for this. people don't give you $100 million because they like you or because you're going to cure aids. they do it because it's
1:44 am
important. the entire government approves it. this is obama's problem as well and this is something that congress has a right to investigate. the other questions, though have to do with the legal system. i was reading a column by a gentleman who was the assistant majority counsel and he said the reason nixon couldn't burn the tapes was because it was obstruction of justice. there's a law that is participatory obstruction of justice, getting rid of documents like 30,000 e-mails. it could be about these things. there's real problems that they have. but what i'm concerned about is 40 years ago we were going to clean up american politics. we were going to have attorney generals who were going to be independent and take money out of politics. what has happened is we have corruption of the worst kind across the board and to the american people, it's important. >> could it be said ed that because hillary clinton is
1:45 am
hillary clinton, the transparency is more obvious and lacking in her case because she's such a public figure? she's not a presidential candidate coming in as a no-name like president obama was when he ran for the white house? >> she has qualifications to run for president. but at the end of the day here there's a lot of baggage of past behavior. these people as i said earlier, have never quite lived up to the rules and regulations. so people expect up to this point and the dishonesty question is from the past. i'm a republican and don't want her to succeed but at the end of the day she's not going to succeed and the democratic party is going to be without a serious candidate. >> doug i want to ask you a question about this. what the hell were they thinking? what is going on here? >> about what? >> overall. >> the question is how could they be so cavalier take all this money from so many suspect donors. and i think part of the answer
1:46 am
is sloppiness but part of it is -- >> part of it is that they thought they could take money and take a lot of money and as long as they insulated government decision making which on balance i think they did, to be blunt about it i say she still could well be right and that she could well win this election because the republicans are divided, the republican party ratings are low and the clinton's calculation that taking the money could work could bear fruit. >> it's a sad state nathat we have reached. i don't understand why the committee has not -- holder which -- >> which candidate are you talking about? >> the gowdy committee on benghazi. go to court.
1:47 am
there are precedence for this. eric holder has covered up every scandal. and by the way, we had a special counsel for valerie plain. the country, as i said the nixon has said before they bring hillary clinton, what the hell is going on here not afterwards and we need a real investigation. >> the issue is money. money, money, money. and they've always gotten away with money. there's always been questions about the contribution. the only thing she's said in the two weeks she's been in office she's going to spend $2.5 billion, twice as much money as ever before. so we have a right to know where that money has come from. >> and then she's going to reform the political system. international issues dominating recent headlines, including the ongoing battle against isis and nuclear talks with iran. president obama taking the criticism for the foreign policy that many say is just too weak. but who can do better?
1:51 am
we want to thank everyone for tweeting in. ed and pat, we're not talking all politicians. it seems like no one can be trusted. >> right now i think it's a suspect question. >> reporter: the answer is no. >> equally is important. the role in the future is going to be the test. a lot of evidence has been laid out and it's going to be up to the media to i can ma the case or not make the case and, if they fail, then -- >> exactly that point.
1:52 am
watergate was by itself. everybody else sat it out for a long time and they were under attack from the nixon administration. and they went -- you know what and then we ended up re-electing a president who we had to impeach, drive out of office. we cannot afford to do that again. that's why something has to happen. >> you're right. we don't want history to repeat itself. when it comes to foreign policy, this is a huge issue, especially when it comes to nuclear deals. with iran north korea, president clinton at the time did a deal with pyongyang and they halted the weapons for 12 years. china is concerned that the north korean nuclear threat is rising. this could potentially threaten us here in the u.s. president obama is lifting sanctions and we're repeating history. >> this is about appeasement.
1:53 am
we are not -- we are rewarding bad behavior. iran is sponsoring terrorism all over the middle east. they told us that anything we've agreed to that we've said we've agreed to they are not going to agree to. appeasement does not work. >> the iranians have made clear they are not g ... sites. obama appears to have caved that the sanctions will be immediately lifted apparently on the signing of the deal. julie, the premise of your question is right. they are the top allies of the north koreans. this is an unsafe world with a president who is not doing what he said. >> a president needs to know their foreign policy. >> excuse me.
1:54 am
remember the same woman, wendy sherman, who negotiated that disastrous deal in 1994 is now negotiating the iran deal. she's the chief negotiator. and when you said about giving up they are talking about a $50 billion signing bonus, the president admitted they are only three months away. everything that john kerry said to us was a lie about the framework. the iranians are right. he does not know what he is doing. he's sitting there without a moral bone in his body. >> ed does hillary clinton distance herself from president obama and does she distance herself on her husband? >> i mean she is impossible. >> the real test obama desperately needs her. if she comes out with the asian trade deal or against this deal both deals go down and that's all he has left. >> we have to take a break. i hope you stay right there.
1:56 am
. welcome back. the fox news political insiders are back. doug you have an interesting point about president obama and hillary clinton. >> yeah. they are in a death stance with one another. each of them candidly doesn't have any use for the other but as ed was suggesting, they need each other. the president cannot risk hillary clinton going against the trade deal or the iranian nuclear deal. at the same time hillary
1:57 am
clinton needs the left wing of the party to stay with her. a left wing democrat texted me and said what's the alternative to hillary? because i can't vote for her. the answer warren. and what hillary is afraid of is president obama encouraging elizabeth warren to run as she has been apparently once before by valerie jarrett. >> and that's why the white house, after the first days of not saying anything -- i mean basically saying she's in her own mess suddenly came and picked up the argument oh it's a conspiracy too, because they understand she can sink them and she needs him to protect her and that's why there has got to be a resolution for an independent investigator here. the justice department will not allow it. >> this president doesn't get the iran deal which he shouldn't, it's a bad deal and if he doesn't get the trade deal that most democrats don't want -- >> a lot of republicans don't want it. >> i agree.
1:58 am
there's no agenda left. >> our democracy, as pat suggested, is in a crisis julie. >> we are really in a crisis and i'm going to tell you, american politics will be turned on its head. the issue of reclaiming a corrupt system from washington and the political class, i guarantee you it is going to be the firestorm of next year and, mark my word. >> well said pat. >> that's all the time we have. sex, money and power is all the clintons are about was sent to me. it's interesting that the marriage lasted. he was there to support her. we'll see if they make it >> it is monday april 27th. a fox news alert. after shocks and devastation. the desperate search for survivors in nepal as the death toll climbs by the hour.
