"pamela geller says she has no regrets about prophet muhammad cartoon contests that ended in two deaths." well predictably outrage followed forcing the ap to clarify that tweet because what geller actually said was that

she had no regrets the event ended with gunfire and not deaths. that didn't stop groups like c.a.r.e. from attacking her anyway. they lashed out with this tweet. don't let pamela geller or her cabal confuse you." here now to respond to the latest attacks is author and columnist pamela geller. you had that interview. boy, that tweet they sent out after was like judge, jury and executioner all in one. >> well i had not wanted to do that interview but that's a whole other story. why is the media carrying water for the most radical extreme ideology on the face of the weather? why is the story about pamela geller? you have a situation where a free speech conference was attacked by two jihadists. the good news is that they were taken down before they could take out hundreds and the police got access to their computers

and we broke open a cell. and they're gleaming data as we speak. they would have struck somewhere else. i don't know how many others would have died in a less protected environment. why aren't we talking about the motive of the jihadists. why is pamela geller the story and one thing i just want to say, the counsel of islamic care cited in every story about me i'm not quoted but they are is a designated terrorist group by the uae, unindicted co-conspirator in the largest trial in our nation's history, the holy land foundation trial and a front for hamas. i want to know why the media has designated them some legitimate authority. >> i'm not sure why some of the media are attacking you. they may not like you or what you have to say but certainly you have the right to say what you say. >> yeah we're having this conversation and the military for the first time since 9/11

babies in the face to send a message." the man who wrote that column national review staff writer david french. thanks for joining us. you heard pamela geller weigh in. where are you on this? do you feel her pain? do you feel this? >> you know, it is astonishing to me we're having thousands and thousands of words of commentary after a woman is nearly killed with all of her friends and supporters in that commentary is focusing on whether or not she talks about these genocidal jihadists with another nuance. it makes no sense whatsoever. there is no way to conform our lives in a manner that pleases the jihadists unless we adopt the exact same brand of sunni islam they espouse. i mean the exact same brand. it makes no sense whatsoever. >> i read your piece and recommend everyone read it. it's strong it's powerfully worded. in one of the lines you say in the sane world a leaders should rally around free speech and pam geller. how are our leaders failing?

>> they're failing us because the message should be very very clear. we protect our own. we don't blame the victim. if you come after our own citizens on our own land to try to defeat free speech to try to destroy fundamental constitutional values this is what will happen to you. what happened in garland, texas, where a brave hero cop stopped these terrorists in their tracks. we should be holding that up as a model of american free speech and model of the way to protect the constitution rather than now tripping all over ourselves, to apologize for pamela geller. it's astonishing. >> do you think the fbi should have given pam geller and/or her group or event if they had a three-hour notice. >> absolutely. i think that's a no-brainer but goes deeper than that. let's not forget that elton simpson was prosecuted in a botched prosecution, a terribly botched prosecution accused of trying to head to somalia to join terrorists. the prosecutor botched the

prosecution by failing to put forward sufficient evidence and then the judge actually failed to find in favor of the prosecution believing that when simpson talked about going to the battlefield in somalia it wasn't sufficiently clear to her what he meant by battlefield or what he meant by fighting. well now we know. >> fbi director james comey said that there are thousands of radicalized americans. how many elton simpsons are out there right now? >> you know that's the thing that we don't have any way of knowing that right now and that's why we're missing the forest for the trees and spending all this time speaking about whether pamela geller is nuanced enough and uses the right words to describe jihadist has what this tells us we've had our first isis inspired terror attack and isis is promising more. we should focus on that and sending a clear message we protect our own and rally around our own, not that we try to destroy our own in the court of public opinion. >> now, there are those who say pamela geller overstepped a

overstepped its legal authority yet john mccain still wants to take swipes at you. why do you think that's the case? >> you know i just don't think we ought to let fear allow us to forget how important the bill of rights are. the right to a trial by jury is one of the things we're talking about. during world war ii i guess john would remember those times. back in world war ii we incarcerated thousands and thousands of japanese-americans without a trial. that's the kind of stuff i'm trying to prevent. we've had this debate not only about nsa spying but about indefinitely detaping american citizens and i asked him point-blank, senator john mccain, would you send an american citizen to guantanamo bay without a trial and he said yeah if they're dangerous. john mccain doesn't get to decide if you're dangerous before you're sent to guantanamo bay, the american court system should. you should get a lawyer and get your day in court and begs the question are we going to let senator john mccain decide who

is dangerous and ships them off for life or go to a system the bill of rights where everybody gets their day this court. i'm happy to put my argument against his. >> it just seemed an attack -- divorced from reality with what's going on with radical islam, he called you. you want to refute that rebut that? >> well the thing is i think we can stop radical islam and use the constitution at the same time. think of the two boston bombers, the young brothers the bombers in boston. we already had some information about them. we weren't pursuing the this was and think about the person from phoenix recently where i am that traveled over to texas to commit jihad. we knew about one of them but we weren't following and pursuing the information. i think we've made the haystack so big by searching every american's records we're not spending enough time actually isolating in on the people who have shown some proclivity to attack us. >> okay senator, also another

talking to because i'm going to have 1200 kis today in arizona state and i'll bet you not one wants their phone records looked at by the government without a warrant. >> no doubt. senator, earlier in the show we were talking to pamela geller and we were talking about the free speech argument, you know the whole situation with the cartoon contest that she -- the event she put together and the aftermath the two jihadists killed. do you care to weigh in on how that was handled and the aftermath, the debate after that. >> the first amendment is about difficult to accept speech. it's not about, hey, eric bolling, you're probably type with that speech but if i say something bad about eric bolling, free speech is about dissent and saying things that are sometimes uncomfortable. there's free speech and wise speech and i wouldn't personal choose to bash someone's religion. i don't think it's a good idea but i think that the constitution protects even

unacceptable speech even speech that we've all found not good for comedy but at the same time the first amendment allows for this and that's what our country is about. >> senator, there was a report today that one of the top al qaeda -- i believe in yemen was killed and one of his operatives killed, as well. but via air strike maybe even drone attack. weigh in. a lot of people would say how would senator rand paul how would he react to that? >> well a lot of people have misunderstood my policy on drones. i'm not against the military weapon. i'm not against using them in a military or in a battlefield. i have been against using them on american citizens not in the battlefield and i made sure that the president finally admitted that he wouldn't use them on domestic soil or here at home but it's really about due process. if you're fighting against america, you don't get any. if you're on a battlefield and shooting against american soldiers a drone is fine. a drone is just another military weapon.

but if you're an american that's vacationing in europe or vacationing in the middle east and you're not in the war zone i think really if we think you're a traitor, we should accuse you of treason and given a chance to come home. if you don't i think you could be tried in absentia but the thing is i'm not against the military weapon. i'm for preserving the bill of rights for american citizens who are not involved in combat. >> carry one in my pocket at all times. congratulations on opening your silicon valley office? >> we're in the process of that. we're going to announce our chief technical officer. we have an office in sort of mini silicon valley in austin we're opening a new one in san francisco and going to be announcing our tech team and i think we'll give the democrats a run for the money. we've looked at what president obama did, how he is successful and tried to expand upon some of those techniques and be prepared

african-american in that community. that gun in his waste was meant for somebody else maybe. he's putting himself on the front line and if they go and search the guy they'll want him to fill out all kinds of forms why did you search him, the cop will get in trouble or if he shot first and officer moore and his partner killed him there would be demonstrations all over the place. >> richard, the anti-cop left in america seems to be i don't know fueling some of this hatred and, you know murder streak that's going on against cops. >> i can't speak to the anti-far police -- it's sad to see this officer go so young in his life and it's always sad to see anybody die senselessly but the truth of the matter is what kiwi do to make sure they're serving the commune and the community is working with the police department to make sure we get rid of criminals like the person who shot him off the street. that requires real community conversations, right. like if we're going to talk about respect let's build
