and north carolina preparing for an early start to the hurricane season. crews creating a sea wall. and we have fox team coverage for you tonight. and johnathon is live in south carolina and we begin with will carr in bridge creek, oklahoma. reports of tornados touching down today? >> reporter: that's right, julie. we learned nine tornados touched down in texas and colorado and increased tornado threat for southern oklahoma. and i just got off of the phone with the national weather service no tornados set down in that state. that is good especially for the community we are in right now. they were hit badly by a tornado. 800 buildings were damaged and homes like this destroyed. the tornado ripped the back wall of the home and tore the roof off of the house and gutted the

living room. it was an ef2 tornado with wind speeds up to 135 miles per hour. and we saw several homes just like this this amount of damage althroughout the community. one man is grateful for two things. one that his family and himself survived this storm and two, he had so many people come and help. even complete strangers come by and offered clothes and roofs and some got up on his roof to start patching that. >> everyone around here sticks together. we call ourselves creeker strong and creeker nation. it is it overwomening. >> and these are people that want to help no matter what. and they are calling the mentality oklahoma strong. and it resonated with the community.

and the governor issued a disaster declaration to help free up federal money to help families that lost everything julie. >> we have seen major flooding in the region. was that a concern this time around? >> reporter: yeah it absolutely is. flooding is a big issue since wednesday night when the tornado came through here. they had nine-inches of rainfall in a couple of hours. and since then every day we are pounded with rain. in shawneeh has a damn that could breach. and if that happens, 25 homes are in the direct path of that water. authorities are keeping a close eye on. that and the national wlvr service issued flash flood warnings. and they are saying pay attention if you get in the flash flood advisory stay inside and stay safe, jowly. >> all right.

will carr thank you. >> tropical storm anna packing 65 miles per hour as it closes in on the carolinas and 60 miles from myrtle beach and traveling at three miles per hour. tropical watches and warnings and flood watches and warnings in effect for parts of the rentalion. landfall is expected tomorrow afternoon. johnathon is joining us live from myrtle beach, south carolina and will watch it come ashore. johnathon, what are the conditions like right now? >> reporter: the winds are picking up and dark clouds and a clearing out there on the horizon as the feeder bands move over us. over here you can see the waves, not particularly high waves, but choppy seas and potential for rip currents and life guards are telling everyone to stay on shore. the rain has held off most of the day and that has brought

people on the beach. visitors on the beach taking the storm in stride. >> we don't pay attention to the storms. we have been here many times and we are looky. and we do this twice a year. and it doesn't matter the rain. we came down when it is rained out and it doesn't matter. >> reporter: a lot of visitors found out about the storm, many had hotel reservations and many decided to come and sit and still having a lot of fun, julie. >> what are the local authorities most concerned about then? >> reporter: any time you have a tropical storm or hurricane they worry about the outdorevents that get postponed or cancelled and the other issue is the timing of the storm is arriving just as the busy tourist season is getting

underway. the carolina coast is used to dealing with a tropical storm, like this bon anna is an unusually early arrival. the hurricane season doesn't usually start until june 1st. >> the biggest concern with the storm especially early in the season or not in the season yet, that people don't take these situations to heart. normally they wait until summertime to prepare for the hurricane or tropical activity. >> reporter: another worry is the beach erosion. they are worried that the beach will wash away. as far as the rip currents most people are heeding the warnings and staying out of the water. >> that's good. johnathon thank you very much. fox news of course it is american election head quarter ares and some of the top names

>> a 17-year-old facing terror charges in australia after being arrested in a police raid. police say the teen was plotting to set off three homemade bombs in the city of melbourne. prime minister tony abbot

described the threat serious. five other people were detained in melbourne for allegedly planning an attack on public ceremony. isis terrorist claiming responsibility for a mass prison break in iraq. and dozens of inmates escaped from the prison in northern iraq after overpowering guards. john has the latest from the newsroom. >> 12 guards and 50 inmates were killed in the prison riot that ultimately led to the massive prison break. it happen earlier in the prison. and it is 50 miles north of baghdad in the da la procowboys. a fight erupted among the prisoners and when the guards tried to intervene they were overpowered and weapons were taken and both guards and inmates were killed.

and texas. so that leaves millions in the cross hairs of severe weather. we'll continue to keep a close eye on the situation for you right here on fox. an fbi agent is shot in the leg trying to arrest a bank robber. it is our top story as we go across america. colorado, fbi agents closed in on the suspect in a motel in littleton 10 miles south of denver and he refused to be taken in and firing two shots at law enforcement and shooting and kimming himself. officers did not return fire. the agent was hospitalized with nonlife threatening injuries. he was accused of robbing six banks in the denver area. iowa highway patrol releasing
