4:01 pm
they got to the parking lot and that's when we're told the fight poured out into the parking lot, into the streets. and the biker gangs started firing at each other and at police officers. in the end, at least nine people have been confirmed dead. that number could continue to rise. that's what we just were told. at least 16 people were injured, shoot or stabbed. police say they recovered at least 100 weapons from the scene. witnesses say this played out like a son of "sons of anarchy." they say this was a terrifying couple of minutes. thankfully no officers or bystanders were hurt. we do know several arrests were made but police are asking people to stay out of this area. they say it's a very fluid scene right now. they're still looking for suspects. the waco police department and several agencies from local cities are still trying to figure out exactly what went down this afternoon. one officer saying the scene was gruesome and the most violence he's ever seen in 34 years of law enforcement.
4:02 pm
>> i understand there were signs and concerns that something like this would happen. >> that's right. this doesn't appear to be random. just a couple of weeks ago, the district attorney in waco came out and said trouble had been brewing between these gangs inside the establishment, this sports bar twin peaks for quite some time. today, the waco police department came in and said management had known these issues were going on for quite a while but continued to let these gang members inside. obviously it all boiled over today. you've seen the bloodshed and the carnage that has played out. >> all right, will carr reporting live for us. thank you. >> a terror group saying government forces pulled out after a series of car kboms in the area. iraqi officials have released
4:03 pm
conflicting information on whether the scene has fallen. the pentagon says the situation is fluid but confirms isis has the advantage. iraq's prime minister is ordering security forces to stand their ground. this is just the late nest the ongoing battle for ramadi. losing the city to isis could put the trifss one step closer to baghdad. we'll continue to bring you all the latest updates. new developments meanwhile in the u.s. raid that killed an isis commander in syria. u.s. officials now say it's likely he knew about just more than the terror group's finances. he was killed in a major terror a ration near the al amr oil field. his wife was taken into custody for questioning. isis and u.s. militants fighted, even in hand to hand combat.
4:04 pm
12 people were killed, all isis members. authorities found laptops and cell phones at the scene, which could hold valuable information on the inner workings of isis. his death may have temporarily halted oil operations which is critical to the group's military operations. >> abu saef is really if you think about this the chief financial officer of isis. as the cfo, he was in charge of the oil and gas reserves which funded their operations. so we're trying to cut the funding stream off in the terrorist financing. >> doug mccalloway has more. have we seen a raid like this at anytime in the fight against isis. >> no we have not. whether this signals some sort of new strategy or if it was a one-time operation based on unique intelligence we cannot say. but this raid by the u.s. elite's delta force had been in the planning stage for several weeks. fs to carried out in the dark of night. the team traveling from u.s.
4:05 pm
bases in eastern syria to blackhawk helicopters and osprey aircraft. michael mccall praised the attack on abu saef but said his death isn't the major achievement of this raid pop i think the discovery of these electronic records and documents probably by far, the greatest achievement because now we canally look at the organization itself where the tentacles reach, both within syria and outside syria. because the best really the best defense is a good offense. >> adam shift, democrat from california today expressed concerns this raise, though successful may have posed too much of a risk. >> if one of our people were cap kmured if we lost some of our special forces it would be
4:06 pm
tough questions to answer about whether it was worth it. i think notwithstanding the success of this operation, we're still going to have to ask those question ps .was the intelligence value that we hope to gang and the fact that we are gaining worth this kind of risk. >> others today suggested that successes like this one had been too few and too far between. >> it doesn't take away from the fact that isis remains a group that in the last 48 hours captured yet another critical city within iraq. >> the raid also resulted in the recovery of several ancient syrian texts and other priceless art facts. >> so was the syrian government notified of this raid in advance? >> no it was not. there was absolutely no cooperation with the government of bashar al asaad, but the cia cultivated human intelligence on the ground in syria, human intelligence that resulted in several weeks of surveillance on abu saef. some say he was an irreplaceable
4:07 pm
asset. other see him as the group's accountant who can be easily replaced. >> thank you. >> well we now know the names of the u.s. marines killed in a military helicopter crash in nepal. nepal. the six marines and two nepalese soldiers were delivering aid in the wake of two earthquakes when the helicopter went down. the cause of the crash is under investigation. >> the republican presidential hopefuls all weighing in on whether george w. bush should have authorized the invasion of iraq in 2003.
4:08 pm
we have that story from our washington news room. >> hi. after a misstep an an interview with former florida governor jeb bush about the iraq invasion, republican candidates, both official or not, are being pressed on the decision to take the country to war in hindsight. that includes marco rubio. he sat down with our own chris wallace on fox news sunday. >> that was not the same question. my answer is it's not a mistake. i still say it's not a mistake. because the president was presented with intelligence that said iraq had weapons of mass destruction. it was governed by a man who committed atrocities in the past. >> rubio initially said it made sense to invade in 2003. he said that decision was made without today's knowledge. he said that a different question. >> i don't think anyone who had
4:09 pm
the information now would have made the decision george w. bush did. but obviously now knowing what we know today, i would not have gone into that war. >> on democratic side former secretary of state hillary clinton hasn't been taking interviews but she said she made a, quote, mistake when voting to authorize the war. bernie sanders voted against the war in 2003. batti ann, back to you. >> the ntsb and fbi will meet tomorrow to discuss conflicting reports regarding whether an object struck an amtrak train just moments before it derailed killing eight people. damage to the train's windshield is visible, but an ntsb board member is down playing the idea that someone may have fired something at the train on purr. they do say investigators are looking at every possibility when it comes to what may have caused this crash. >> we have not ruled anything out, nor have we ruled anything in.
4:10 pm
>> i take this happens where projectiles hit engines all the time without it causing catastrophic consequences. >> i would agree with that. >> meanwhile, crews are working to make repairs and they expect amtrak service between philadelphia and new york city to resume in time for tomorrow morning's busy rush-hour commute. brian, i understand the mayor of philadelphia just wrapped up a service at the crash site? >> that's exactly right. you're looking behind me at the site of amtrak crash 1tuesday night. they had a service of remembrance and reflection. the philadelphia mayor michael nutter joined with the senator of pennsylvania and and the transportation secretary anthony fox. and they were all on hand here at the site.
4:11 pm
everyone at the crash site was listening to what michael nutter had to say. >> before a train could pass this way, we must take a moment a human moment to recognize what has happened. >> they were emotional talking about the worst day of his professional career on tuesday. he said 300 people have been working around the clock to lay 1,500 feet of railway. he said the positive train control, the automatic train control system that automatically brakes oer slows down a train, it was in place back in '99 and 2000 but part of that the reason it wasn't
4:12 pm
working is quite frankly there's been budgetary and bureaucracy issues. take a listen to what he had to say. >> the reality is that we weren't flush with cash for that period of time since then. so you have to constantly make decisions at amtrak who are your underfunded. look around that infrastructure. you see it yourself. it's not reliable any longer. there is a need to rebuild this railroad from the ground up. am i complaining about the funding? what i'm saying is that better funding would give us a better infrastructure and allow us to do more. >> he went on to say he believes it's safe and encourages everyone to arrive.
4:13 pm
he doesn't believe it was a gunshot. it did not even penetrate the window. ultimately as you said this investigation is wide open. they're still even looking at why this train was even speeding. they don't know. still so many questions. but full service of amtrak begins tomorrow. patti ann? >> all right thank you. and there's new information today in a quadruple homicide in our nation's capital. brand-new video may lead to the person suspected of killing four people near vice president bow biden's official residence. and pope francis sends two nuns to saint hood.

4:18 pm
two other nuns were also cannonized. >> this was indeed a very historic day and one with both religious and political overtones. both nuns now saints are the first arabic-speaking palestinian catholic saints and the first to be cannonized in modern christian history. they were born in the 1840s and worked tirelessly for the poor founding schools and convents in jerusalem and bethlehem, and both are credited with perform performing miracles -- a necessary requirement for saint hood. bawardi is said to have received stigmata. the other is said to have saved several people from death when their relatives prayed for her intervention. and both women are said to have received aparitions of the virgin mary. this was a day of both religious

and political overtones. the cannonization of the two nuns really highlighted pope francis' efforts to increase the diminishing number of christians in the middle east at a time when they're being persecuted by isis. we've seen the stories of christians being executed by the terror organization. >> now the ceremony also took place just days after the vatican officially recognized the state of palestine in a treaty. in fact palestinian president mahmoud abbas met with probe francis yesterday who called abbas an angel of peace. pope francis gave abbas a medallion with an angel on it and abbas giving the pope a rosary used by one of the nuns. pope francis encouraged both the palestinians and israelis to sit back at the table and renew

they say it's too much it appears that isis may have the advantage. >> my sense is that they do and they're consolidating their control over ramadi. it speaks to a larger issue in the middle east which is it's in complete turmoil. with what the saudis are shopping around for an off the shelf nuclear weapon. it gets worse than that. we're in a situation that skeer yeah remains in complete chaos. john hezbollah was doing media tours saying they're the acceptable terrorist group as opposed to isis. and candidly, we have no mention of israel and their role in the process. they are unrelenting, as they
4:33 pm
should be, in their opposition to iran becoming a nuclear state. and president obama's only role was to dra goon the reluctant partners in the arabic kouns sill to reluctantly accept the iranian program should a deal get done. but this is getting worse before it gets better, notwithstanding we had the great success of killing an isis commander this week. that's good news. everything else bad. >> so doug mentioned this summit camp david. president obama was intending to reassure the six nations in the gulf cooperation council the u.s. considers iran a terror sponsor and the u.s. will use military force if necessary. did he convince them? >> no. and four of the six didn't even send a their leader. that's a snub to the allies the president of the united states. the mainstream media sort of down played that. but in our lifetime can you remember when a loyal ally of the united states when invited for the prestigious of coming to
4:34 pm
camp david to meet the president of the united states said no thanks, we're not coming? this is a real slap in the face at a president who's undermined our zsh. >> very quickly, i can't remember it. the other thing i can't remember candidly is us being ignored and belittled by our allies around the world who feel that our word cannot be trusted. >> pat, what's your take? >> my take on this is that you know it was a slap in the face. they wanted the united states to offer protection that we would guarantee them. the president wouldn't give them a guarantee of our support if they were attacked. in other words, extend our nuclear shield. we had -- the worst part about it is that the president said he would give them weapons and help them. and if he helps them like he helped iran, sending them meals ready to eat and nonlethal weaponry which seems to be his favorite. >> you mean ukraine? >> the ukraine, excuse me, i'm
4:35 pm
sorry, the ukraine. what we're having though is a situation where they don't believe him, they don't want the iranians. and you know the president said something in our newspaper last week. when he described iran as a terrorist -- as a sponsor of state terrorism, yet he's been taken off one of the list -- iran has been taken off one of the list. it sounded like a recent treaty. i never understood why in the nuclear talks that we have ongoing with iran why isn't, doug terrorism and iran's open support of hezbollah and hamas, why are those not linked to the nuclear talks? >> i'll tell you why. because if we link terror as we should to those talks, the iranians would walk out. we want a deal so badly, john that we are not willing to stand up to our swrals and stand up if
4:36 pm
for opposition. >> we're not even saying to the iranians, before we say word, we want the five americans all let go. why not? >> that's a good question. let's go back to the question we asked in our lead-in, saudi arabia and some states saying we're going to match? >> this is a result the president says he didn't want more proliferation. his policy is happening about. >> i have said week after week this is confirmation of what political insiders have been saying. >> the iranian, want to get ballistic missiles. they have missiles that can deliver. they want ballistic missiles so they can hit us. that's not even part of the talks either. and first the saudis i

i made substantial contributions, but i should have made disclosures on air. and i now believe directing personal do nations to that foundation was a mistake. george steph november louse apologizing again this morning for failing to discloz his do nations to the clinton foundation. the network so far standing behind him as many are calling for him to step down from all 2016 coverage. our panel is back. he did say these do nations are a matter of public record. enough? >> no i don't think it is enough. i think george should have disclosed when he didinterviews with peter schweitzer talked about the issue, he should have
4:42 pm
disclosed disclosed. i know george very well. the problem he had is very simple. by 1998 or 1999 he was estranged from the clintons bill an hillary was of the coverage of the lewinsky matter. i think this was his way of trying to get access again by making rather generous do nation s s. i think the fact that he diz not disclose is a very very serious violation. john do you think he should disqualify himself? >> i think he is disqualified. i think the public has to look at this as yet another reason to say i don't like any of the media. i don't trust him. you know who looks good to this? fox news. they're the alternative to the main networks who are corrupt. they're in bed with the establishment politicians. >> i knew george in the clinton administration and i worked with him. my comments are based on the totality of my observation and experience. >> i isle take care of that.
4:43 pm
stephanopolous is one of the very ambitious people. he stabbed his boss in the back. he claimed in his book grave moral outrage of what was going on in the white house during the re-election campaign yet he didn't resign. he waited until someone gave him $2 million, then stabbed bill clinton in the back which is the only way i as a loyalist would see this. then he went off, attacked obama and then went after lewinsky. i think he was the first person who mentioned imimpeachment. and then in 2008 realizing he needed, because of his network affiliation affiliation, to get back with the clintons he served as their attack dog against obama in 2012. he's on the phone every day by the way, with james carville and rahm emanuel, now the mayor of chicago cooking up political stunts like he did in 2012 when he raised the issue that nobody believed was an issue. he carried forth doing these
4:44 pm
things. his interview with schweitzer was an outrage. i'll tell you who i really blame. he set his character of what it is. it is abc and the fact that they promote this kind of stuff. and you know what? on cbs today nbc the morning shows, they didn't even bother to mention it because they're all doing it, too. pardon the slippery slope we have seen of our country going downhill morally in the last 30 years. >>. pat brought this up another week on our show. the clinton foundation needs to be looked at for what it really is. a legal slush fund that they're using. they park campaign workers. i'm not attacking -- you're my friend. you're ethical. >> appreciate it. >> that's what i say to your face. >> i know, i know. i got it. >> seriously, this is serious
4:45 pm
stuff. when youf donate to the clinton foundation it's tax deductible money. so we're subsidizing this thing as taxpayers. they're flying around on chattered et js $30 million, hillary, bill and chelsea, financed by the taxpayers. it's all done not to help the people of haiti. this is done to restore the clinton image after imimpeachmentim impeachment and maybe get back to the white house. >> sorry, we've got to move on. so much to cover. jeb bush now, megan kelly here on fox asked if he would have authorized the iraqi foundation. his answer was i would have authorized us so would hillary clinton and everybody confronted with the intelligence they got. he did clarify he understood would you have authorized it knowing what you knew back then as a senator. he said he misunderstood the
4:46 pm
question. we have that sound, right? '. >> should supporters be worried at all by that? >> don't think so. i think i can handle it. i was asked a question. i answered the question wrong. i answered a different question. and look we're all going to make mistakes. if you're looking for a perfect candidate, he probably existed 2,000 years ago. >> a jesus reference. here we go. >> here's what i would say. we have a lower bar than being a deity to be a president of the united states. but candidly this week jeb bush failed at the task. he does not have a consistent position. he's parsing the issue both ways. he had four or five answers this week to the same question. the problem is republican primary voters tend to still support the war and support his brother, but the electorate as a whole, which you need if you're going to be elected president is as skeptical of the iraq war, as
4:47 pm
they almost certainly should be. candidly he hasn't thought through his position. marco rubio took the same position jeb bush took initially. this is a problem for the republicans. and one of the reasons why hullry's answer was, she made a mistake, now is looking better and better. >> i think this was actually a good thing for the republican party to take a look at jeb bush and realize the guy is not a great candidate. in fact, he's a poor candidate. and all the money has been given to him. i guarantee you, all these donors doug's friends have woen up this week and go whoa, i gave all this money. >> speaking to the bunglers, they're nervous. very nervous. >> you wake up glow l you go geez i didn't know this guy was so ham handed. the republicans are going to get a better candidate.
