murdering a corporate executive, his wife and their son and their housekeeper captured police. and he was not alone. >> darren dill wint a -- daron wint arrested. we are live where the multi state manhunt ended. rich what happened? >> well it ended right here. police apprehended mr. wint last evening with a handful of other suspects. they found his dna on a piece of pizza crust in the how is that he alleged slit on fire. returned back to the dc area last nights. they began their apprehension of him at a nearby hotel. >> we were able to identify him in a nearby vehicle.

to 6 total. they are saying one of those arrested with wint was his brother. >> all right, rich edison live for us this morning. thank you, rich. a oo we have >> we have information about the prime suspect daron dylan wint. what do we know about wint? >> good moaning. for the past week police have been saying they thought the person responsible for the murders may have known the family. we are learning that daron dylan wint may have worked for savopoulos' company. >> there is a connection through the business of the suspect and the savopoulos family business. >> wint worked as a welder from 2003 to 2005. he also had a relative who was fired from the company and in

2010 was arrested outside of american ironwork headquarters for carrying a 2 foot long machete and bibi. he plead guilty to carrying an open container of alcohol. in washington, d.c. he has been arrested for burglary domestic violence and assault including attacking a girlfriend and threatening to shoot his father and step mom. in new york state he served jail time for three assault victims and has an outstanding warrant for violating a protective order. he grew up in giana and moved to the u.s. in 2000. he joined the marine corps and received honorable discharge for medical reasons. an attorney who represented him in the past said he was never a violent person and says he is surprised these accusations. >> patricia stark, thank you. a p joint terrorist task force arresting two suspected

and cyber security expert. thank you for joining us. >> thank you for having me on. >> this was not a random home invasion. that was not the case here. but at the same time it is still raising concerns with people. you say one of the first things people can do is if you see something say something. correct? >> absolutely. there were so many red flags in this case. i think we have kind of gotten into a culture, heather, where people are afraid to pick up the phone and call police. they can't be that way. if you see pizza being delivered to the door guy answering with gloves strange behavior that hasn't happened in 20-years. when you see something like this if there's something unsettling pick up the phone. the worst thing is you are wrong. the best thing is you stop something from happening. >> everyone that i speak with about this particular story they are all asking why didn't the husband haveor the housekeeper who spent the night why didn't he say anything to any one. why didn't the person at the

bank say anything when 40,000 dollars in cash was withdrawn? >> when i was a detective we had a community that was almost half hispanic. we dealt with a lot of cultural issues. sometimes people are afraid to question authority. like the husband afraid to question why his wife is being asked to stay over. this is behavior nobody has exhibited for 20-years. this is behavior 40,000 dollars being sent should have been a huge red flag at a bank. we are not here to second-guess the folks, but gosh we have to get to this point where people get back to having a sense of community. a member of the international association policing committee this is really about how the police and the public work together. crime is not a police problem it is a public problem. we have to work together. one of the ways you see something, say something, pick up the phone, make that call. in fact one thing you can do to help out is use code words especially if you are a high network individual use trigger

words if you are under duress. >> all of the folks directly involved in some way in the events that were happening. there was a neighbor that said she saw the suspect wint louder loitering about in the neighborhood. physical you are a neighbor and you live nearby where there's unusual activity you should call as well. >> when i was a detective we would investigate homicides and go out and knock on doors. we would see something suspicious we would say have you seen anything you normally don't see in the neighborhood. that's something you normally don't see. they are suspicious whether they worry about being politically correct or not offending somebody. this is about safety. when you see something you don't normally see regardless of who it is that's when you pick up the phone and call. when you start piecing these things together there would have been many many opportunities for this tragedy to hopefully have been averted. >> thank you for joining us.

housekeeper. >> rich what happened? >> well you are watching that new video right now of the arrest last evening. happened a short while ago a few hours ago on this particular street corner. they broughtthey found this suspect daron dylon wint because of the dna he left at a slice of a pizza crust in the murder and the arson in washington, d.c. the police say hethey followed him up to brooklyn new york and the trail led them back here. >> they continued working through the night and all day today. there was combined information that we were developing and we were able to track him to a location here at the howard johnsons. >> so they found him in a howard johnsons suburban maryland not too far from here. police say there was about a five mile pursuit situation where they got back to this

street corner and that's where they apprehended him and five to six others in what they are describing as a box truck a rider truck you would rent and a small sedan. they have charged wint with first degree felony murder while armed. they are not saying if they charged any one else arrested. our fox station in washington, d.c. say among the arrested were wants brother they-- wint's brother. >> we also learned wint was arrested in 2010 for carrying a machete and bee-bee gun outside of savopoulos' business. what do we know about the motive there. >> as has been reported he was a welder at the business american iron works in suburban maryland. police approached him sitting behind a dumpster drinking a 24 ounce coarse with a machete and a bee-bee gun. that's a report from all of the

company. >> what a piece of the puzzle they needed to put together. how is it this individual wint whose social circles are different than the ceo. how did they interact with each other. now we find out he worked for this company. >> wint raised last night with a total of 5-6 people police are telling us this morning. do you think there are other people linked to this crime or do you think he acted alone? >> always believe there are other people linked to this crime. he didn't discuss this with any one before he committed the crime and after he committed the crime. >> to order pizza to kill a child to kill any one first of all to kill a child then to be able to order pizza and make out who this guy was based on the pizza crust. that is pretty detective. >> why such a brutal. brutal act. it is horrible what this tin individual did. that's what the police have to find out. we may find out there are other people involved. >> we are learning he had an extensive message. what is the message to the

water every where. cars and people caught up in the high flood waters. maria molina is here with your memorial day weekend. >> heather and ainsley, a lot of extreme weather across parts of the plains. when you walked outside this morning temperatures a little bit below average across the northeast. that's the case for many people across parts of the plains and also into the great lakes. we are looking at the temperatures only in the 40s and 50's out there. you have to bundle up. as far as any rainfall goes we will have a lot of activity unfortunately across some of the hardest hit areas by severe weather recently and also flash flooding across texas and up into oklahoma. there could be potentially as much as 4-8 inches of rainfall in some of these areas along with severe weather as we head into this weekend. be safe out there with all of the extreme weather. your forecast high temperatures coming up for this weekend you can season saturday across the northeast staying relatively chilly only into the 70's. 70's across the midwest. kansas city the high temperature on saturday 67 degrees.
