as a tornado touches down in fayiate county texas. 37 counties in that state have been declared disaster areas. the state is dealing with major widespread flooding. take a look at that. a jeep completely swept away here incredibly the man inside did survive. down south in new mexico near the texas border 13 people were killed when a tornado tore through their town. a baby reportedly ripped from her mother's arms and sent flying into the air. and for the 35 million americans the nightmare could continue today with more threats of severe weather. >> i hope there's a positive ending for the baby. three minutes after the hour. the weather leaving an impact on the next story. a relaxing memorial day turns

terrifying as a water spout turned tornado on a crowded beach sending a bounce house of children into the sky. >> heather childers joins us now. beach goers watched in horror as the tornado hit the sand. look at that three children were actually inside that bounce house. you see it go up towards the tree line there. as it flipped over and soared 20 feet into the air in ft. lauderdale florida. one 5-year-old describes the frightening moments inside. >> i was in the bounce house. and the bounce house flew in the air and then i fell in the dirt. i was thinking i was about to die. >> that 5-year-old fractured her arm during all that chaos. her step brother also breaking his arm. one other girl was kept in the

hospital overnight. but is expected to be released today. that's good news. these terrifying images all too familiar. you'll remember last summer this inflatable slide flew nearly 300 feet with two children trapped inside in colorado. and a year ago, two boys seriously injured when they fell nearly two stories when a gust of wind swept up this bounce house in upstate new york. a bounce house accident account for nearly 11,000 injuries per year. one child send to the emergency room every 45 minutes. police are investigating the incident. they say the bounce house was properly secured at the time. scary stuff. back to you. a water spout, it couldn't be stopped. >> it was absolutely secured properly. >> thanks heather. every 45 minutes a kid is hurt in a bounce house. >> there go our summer plans. >> forget that.

underway after a police officer is shot in new mexico. it is believed that the officer in rio rancho just about an hour north of albuquerque had a confrontation with a suspect. a witness heard two quick gun shots before seeing the police officer on the ground. the officer's condition is not yet known. this is the first time a rio rancho officer has been shot in the line of duty j explosive new allegations coming in from b.b. king's family. they say he was poisoned. ♪ >> and here are those allegations. king's daughter say that two of his closest aides poisoned their father. and even banned the family from seeing him one week before his death. doctors and police say there is no evidence to support this allegation of a poisoning. police are not planning to epoen a homicide investigation. and those are your headlines.

major ground role. several years ago we had thousands of troops in afghanistan. today fewer than 10,000 troops remain. >> he did admit the afghanistan was dangerous place. he reiterated about withdrawing american personnel until only an embassy present would remain. there is still a lot of our troops serving in afghanistan and iraq. 3,050 in iraq. so some people felt as though this could be a chest puff moment for the president saying we're out of there when we're not. and we are still involved. >> first of all, memorial day for those who have given their lives in sacrifice and service of our country. i don't have a problem with the president taking some credit for obviously getting us out of those conflicts. what he fails to also say is -- i said before and i've said it on the show the world is on

fire. you see what's happening in syria, iraq russia boko haram and other organizations. that part of the world is in complete distress. i think it's a result of the inaction by this president. >> let's take a look at both wars. iraq has been split and half and been taken over by an army that we have not seen before. and we have 3,000 troop there's and the air force constantly working. if you're in the air force you're in action. if you're part in special ops, you're in action. if you're in afghanistan you're in missions you should send a e-mail to general campbell who is running things. if we leave afghanistan the way we left iraq it's going to make everybody that served what were we there to begin with for. there were 27 afghan police and military members killed over the weekend. imagine if we were not there at

accessed by penny miller a social worker who i don't know. and, again, had no authorization in being in my medical records for what reason she went in there, i still don't know to this day. and i'm not certain if i will. >> you know we spoke with a gentleman a couple weeks ago who had the same issue. brandon coleman's records were illegally accessed by penny miller as well? >> correct. >> you had not been treated by penny miller correct? >> no, not at the entire time i've been at the v.a. as a patient. >> if i'm on the computer system and i'm going to access someone i might not have treated. what would come up on the screen to let me know i shouldn't be doing this? >> there would be a warning that said restricted record and you would have to click yes or no to allow you to have access to that

record. >> do you believe youp were punished about being a whistle blower? >> yes i am. >> why? >> for coming forward and speaking for the health of our veterans. if this is how they can find out any information on me and any other writshistle blowers i think they're going to use it. >> we're going to stay on this. you spoke it loudly as it relates to the treatment of our veterans. you served this country greatly and we're going to watch this for you. the month of may had 35 kills. >> amazing. 35 homicide so far this months. just this weekend, 28 people shot nine of those people killed. baltimore's mayor reacts. >> it is disheartening that we're seeing such an increase in violence especially when you think about the progress that we've made. we've come too far to have this type of set back. >> joining us now is rod wheeler. rod, when you have this type of stats that happened over the weekend since freddie gray lost his life april 12th, you can't say this is unexpected for a guy in the business like you, why? >> i can tell you one thing the crime hasn't dissipated or slowed down at all since the death of freddie grieay. the same amount of crime we had before the riots. which shows the riots had nothing to do with the death of freddie gray. what kind of effect has it had

on the police department. i can tell you it's had a negative effect on the police department. why? because of that same mayor that you just saw a minute ago talking about how disheartening this is this is the same mayor that told to police officers to stand down and not do their jobs. for her to be complaining now -- even taking a step further. martin o'malley who is about to announce his presidency heap was the governor of that state. look at the conditions that continue to exist pin baltimore. it speaks for itself. >> it seems it's in vogue to go after police. we've noticed an uptick in police killings and assaults on police complete disrespect for their authority. i note that we have al sharpton going around these areas, not going to say, hey, let'sue unite and work together. but rather to insight people. >> al sharpton for all he's done

for the african-american community all these years, that's great fine and dandy. they don't need him in cleveland. i can speak for cleveland my family lives there. take a look at ferguson and how they responded to their situation and then take a look at cleveland. completely different response by the people. why? because you have better leadership in cleveland. the police chief in cleveland is doing a tremendous job. the governor of the state of highway, john kasich has been on the ground ever since day one. ferguson it was completely different. that's why we -- we don't have the problems in cleveland that you see in other states. al sharpton needs to stay out of ohio. >> the storyline has been if the police would back down everything would be fine. as if the police are the problem. you know another network said that the city of baltimore are so concerned the cops are so concerned about their safety and worried about being unfairly

enough. >> he also was eight months old when his dad lost his life back in 2011. there he is. >> in iraq and afghanistan, moving pictures this weekend coming out of memorial day. >> all right. so those are some of the images we want to get yours. so we'll get them and try to put as many up as possible and put them on "fox and friends" facebook page. now this a fox news alert the fbi is investigating anonymous threats against six passengers planes. fighter jets zooming in to escort the planes after an anonymous caller weren'ted of chemical weapons. they were headed to our busiest airports. >> doug luzader is live at the reagan national airport with the latest. do you know who did this? >> no, we don't. that's going to be part of the fbi investigation, whether it was one person or a number of people. we know that there were multiple phone calls. the air system seems to be operating fine.

if nothing else this shows how easy it is to cause major disruptions for airlines and passengers. in one instance one of these aircraft was an air france flight. that was escorted for a time by u.s. fighter jets until it landed. we have video of bags being searched. ultimately they came up with nothing. this ended up apparently being a hoax. lets show you a map of the affected airports. newark jfk and boston's logan airport. the passengers didn't know what was happening until it landed. >> we didn't know-nothing until we get over here. >> we had to follow the security procedures and we didn't know about chemical weapons or anything. >> the fbi is still investigating this. no doubt trying to figure out who placed all of these phone calls. at least one of the threats did specifically mention a chemical weapon. they must deal with hoax phone

more on what's going on this morning. the image is so scary. that relates to this next story and the bouncy house. it was a relaxing memorial day and it turned terrifying as a tornado makes land fall in florida as wind sends the bounce house up into the air. just lifted up from the beach. apparently over a road as children were inside. three were injured when they fell out of that bounce house. it soared 20 feet into the air in ft. lauderdale, floorrida. one of the children remains in the hospital police investigated and says the bounce house was properly secured at that time. we'll follow that story as it developed. new allegations coming from the family of b.b. king. they say the blues legend was poisoned to death. two of his daughters say two of his closest aides poisoned their

day is the special for many. it's the first since our war in afghanistan came to an end. today is the first memorial day in 14 years that the united states has not engaged in a major ground war. several years ago we had more than 100,000 troops in afghanistan. today, fewer than 10,000 troops remain on a mission to train and assist afghan forces. >> would that have been in your prepared remarks? >> no. i think that he had some nice things to say about the troops of course. he always does on occasions like this. but it always comes back to him. it comes back to his policies. even those the middle east is spinning out of control, isis is on the move has huge swaths of territory, reports that isis is interested in gaining a foothold in afghanistan, the president decides to trumpet his own accomplishment by pulling our troops out. i think that was an attempt to have a counter weight to the horrible narrative of what's

happened in the last 24 36 hours to women and christians in the middle east at the hands of isis. of course, mass executions more mass graves being found it seems on a weekly basis. so the president takes the moment to i think, take the spotlight off the troop and put it on his own policies. i guess all presidents might do that to some extent. that seems odd. what's most important is america is strong. we honor the war dead and america's influence in the world continues to be -- in my view should be dominant. and we are not becoming weakened on a daily basis because of bad policy. but he can't say that. because, of course things aren't going well. i looked up the last poll of the military and obama. i think the last poll was in december. do you know what he received? 15% approval rating in that december poll that usa today wrote about. 15% approval among members of the military. i wonder if that's changed much. >> wow, that is noteworthy. >> it sure is.

self-defense or revenge? that's what a jury will have to decide in a stand your ground case over in nevada. you got 74-year-old who is facing murder charges after shooting two trespassers. the pair were not in his home but in a vacant rental unit he owns. joining us for a legal debate is a criminal defense attorney and a prosecutor and says he was not in his rights. where do you stand on this? >> i think this is going to be an easy guilty verdict. this is not part of what the stand your ground law is. this man went out with two guns out with another friend of his that told him there may be somebody in this lot. these people were sleeping and executed essentially. there was no weapon found.

he was not in any dangerous. the stand your ground law says you have to be in fear for your life. >> robert thinks he understands what fear is what do you think? >> i think he's absolutely within the stand your ground law. he has to be in a place he has a legal right to be in. it is his property. doesn't matter he doesn't own it it's his rental unit. he is going to his property and checking to see if it's okay. number three he's not the aggressor. he's not the aggressor in this case. he was doing nothing but standing his ground. he thought they had a gun. even though they were reaching for a flash light that does not matter. the danger does not need to be actual or real its what he believed. he believed these individuals were going to harm him they were in his house. he had no duty to retreat

whatsoever. absolutely no duty to retreat. i think this is an easy not guilty. >> go ahead. >> here's the issue here he is the aggressor. he went there, he didn't call the police. he confronted these individuals and it is clear from the statement he gave that he indicated he didn't want them to leave. it doesn't give you license to go in and when two individuals are sleeping and that issue about the flash light is something that will have to be determined by the jury. it has to be reasonable. >> the whole thing about property owner is curious, isn't it eric? >> no where in the law is it going to say that it's a rental that it's an owner, it's a rental property a property you own. the bottom line is this was his own property. he was not the aggressor, he was in his rights. there's a saying that the police were seconds away but they took minutes to get there. what is he to do? he is allowed to go in his house armed. he's allowed to bear arms.

i want to go back for those who may not know your story. in 2010 you suffered an injury that seemed probably at the time like something you weren't sure you could push through. but you did. what happened in ten? what kind of injury did you suffer and what was your prognosis at the time? >> i was on the kickoff for college playing football. it was a freak accident on a tackle my neck was fractured. i -- c-3, c-4 spinal cord injury. i had to be flown out. had a 3% chance to regain any movement below my neck. i had my faith and my family and friends around to support me. and i just -- to never give up. >> as i understand it there is a lot of work that goes into getting to where you are today. five or six hours a day in training to do what you did. what was it like to walk across at your graduation and receive

your diploma on your own two feet? >> it was unbelievable. i -- like you said i put in countless hours to make this happen. it was just a dream come true. and then to do it with emily, now my fiancee was just a special moment. it was unbelievable. i was nervous but it went really well it was phenomenal. the energy in the room you can't explain it. >> i'm sure your can't. i'm sure without words. a lot of spirit there. emily, you come off of getting engaged and you know the work that chris has put into it describe the moment for you when you see him standing and walking to receive that diploma. >> i was so proud of him. it was absolutely amazing. i've never experienced something like that. everyone in the crowd went crazy. and he's worked super hard. so just to see him make this goal come true and it was absolutely incredible to be a part of it.
