>> the report is still classified. fox news confirmed the investigation found security failures at dozens of airports and more than a decade after 9/11 investigators were able to smuggle banned weapons or fake explosives through security checkpoints. homeland security officials confirmed to fox news that tsa screeners failed 68 out of 70 tests carried out by special investigators known as red teams. in one case an undercover agent with a fake bomb strapped to the back set off an alarm but the screener failed to find it. it was failed to test the system. the tests are covert and designed to be as challenging as possible. the department of homeland security issuing a statement today that reads in part "upon learning the initial 2350i7bdings2350i7bd ing findings second johnson

evacuated to oman. they are still holding three u.s. citizens. earlier today, sources inside the pentagon and state department confirmed that four americans, some with dual citizenship, were being held by these iranian-backed houthi rebels inside yemen. back in february the state department evacuated its embassy, the u.s. marines guarding the embassy disabled their weapons before u.s. officials boarded a private charter. a travel warning asked americans to refrain from visiting the region and urged those inside yes, ma'am ton yemen to leave. today, a french citizen, a woman kidnapped if february, appealed to the french government to seek her release. she has been held hostage for ten weeks. her name is isabelle prime. she tried to kill her feeling as though no one was trying to find her.

the state department who has the lead in getting the americans released issued a statement, we have seen reports that several u.s. citizens have recently been detained in yemen. we are doing everything we can to get these individuals released. due to privacy considerations we do not have any further personal details or information to share. in april, the state department and the british foreign ministry thanked russians for sending a ship to rescue hundreds from yemen, including 18 americans. on friday the state department's yemen crisis page said there are no plans for a u.s. government coordinated evacuation of u.s. citizens at this time. if you wish to depart yemen, it said you should stay alert for other opportunities to leave the country. >> scary times there. jennifer, thank you. back here at home wild weather across much of the country today. now texans are getting their good look at the widespread damage as floodwaters begin to

accused republican -- some republicans of wanting a terror attack to prove rand paul wrong. when you are trying to get republicans for a presidential primary it's bad to attack them. >> let's play what he had to say about that particular issue, raised a lot of eyebrows. here is senator paul. >> i think sometimes in the heat of battle hyperbole can get the better of anyone. that may be the problem there. the point i was trying to make is that i think people do use fear to try to get us to give up our liberty. >> that was rand paul. i should explain, on america's newsroom talking about kind of walking back his comments a little bit when he suggested that some republicans were secretly hoping for an attack on the united states so that he could essentially -- so they could blame him. he walked that back a little bit earlier today. maybe he's not making friends on

the senate floor. but is he among those who enjoy -- is he building a following? >> what's interesting is that when you look at senator paul and his strength a couple of months ago before he announced that he was running for president, was that he said he wanted to expand the republican party, expand the tent take republicanism and conservative ideology to those who haven't voted republican. but that suggests he has been off message. a lot of his policies about reigning in the bulk data collection and nsa overreach are popular among a majority of americans, he has to figure out how to not get off message, not make these controversial statements that daniel alluded to, particularly blaming republicans for creating isis and try to again go back to that strategy where can he appeal to growing the republican party instead of just relying on the

libertarian-leaning republicans. >> lindsey graham entered the presidential race today. a lot of people suggested he would not be there were it not for rant paul's presence. he got caught on cameras doing this at one of rand paul's remarks. >> rolling his eyes. rand paul makes that speech on the senate floor. what about it? is lindsey graham the anti-rand paul in this race? >> definitely a little bit. look he is a lot more hawkish, an interventionist compared to rand paul. a lot of people want to laugh off lynnsy sylindsey graham. the truth is he does have a clearer path to the nomination than a lot of other people in this race. he is from -- he is a senator from south carolina. that's the third state in the nation to get a primary.

if he can hazard a strong showing in south carolina which he has won several times, most recently last november well, why can't he be in it? you know it's fine to laugh him off, but he is sort of a serious contend contender. >> everybody is in it. why not run? >> totally. >> a bunch of republican snores already are. >> let's talk about the democratic side. polls have shown bernie sanders far behind hillary clinton. but he might be gaining momentum. large crowds are showing up at events over the weekend. what about it? is bernie sanders for real? >> he is a long shot candidate. that being said it shows that -- how democrats are wanting anyone to challenge hillary clinton. i think -- not just have a coronation. what's interesting about this is that when you look at how folks have criticized the former secretary of state for having

too much of a micromanaged role rollout, i think when you have town halls, it shows that people in everyday america are hungry for a race especially iowa democrats. so i think that it really just speaks to the frustration on the grass-roots level that the former secretary of state has not been able to answer questions from folks. that being said the business community is a little bit worried, if you will that someone like senator sanders would pull hillary clinton to the left. in which case that could present a political headache for her. she would have to move back to the middle during a general election and win over the independent voters in order to win the presidency. >> daniel is hillary clinton at all worried about this socialist from vermont? >> should she be a little bit. the democratic party has shifted a lot since her hezusband was

i don't think he issed avoe ed avoeadvocating this is for a conventional unit. i think 2,500 special operations troops it would probably be about the right number. with the requisite support from post-air support and medical and things like that. >> the architect of the surge, i believe you served under him, was recently talking about what's going on in iraq. he made the point that he felt that isis was not the same enemy as al qaeda, that al qaeda was more of a challenging enemy because they were engranlined in the local area. he said a loss in the sense that the narrative of isis being on the defensive of losing was shown to be somewhat hollow. that's what he said. since he was the architect of the surge, do you think a surge now would work here in the same way that it worked against al qaeda? >> i think it would. this has to be a civil military

situation. there's a narrative that isis has been using very successfully and that is that the sunnis have been essentially pushed to side. there's a political solution that has to take place where the sunnis are brought back into the fold of the government and not just in words but in deeds brought them into the fold. when it itcomes to isis, they have troops in the field but we have to fight a counter insurgence. they are winning hearts and minds of the populous that we need to address. >> "the new york times" addressed this. they said we need to not putting troops back in but actually tribes and investing in them. they're not getting the political solution in baghdad. do you think that would be wise? >> no. i think when we left iraq we took their confidence essentially. for the iraqi army they have

been very well trained. there's something profoundly psychologically powerful and physically powerful when you know as a soldier on the ground that you have american air support and if anything happens, you have medical evacuation that can be brought to bear. if you remove that these guys are out there sort of untethered without that support. so i certainly don't think that they're going to twin ing toing to win it on their own. i think a political effort -- it's not going to convince isis to put their weapons down. >> they have close tied with iran and the revolutionary guard and he is saying we're not go back right now. we don't see that as a value. we will try to cut off isis supply routes. what is raising questions about that is the connection to iran. but it looks like they are trying to create a dividing line between the shia part of iraq and the sunni part of iraq. here we are back wondering about the civil war in iraq and what

that would mean to us. what do you think is at stake right now in iraq? >> so if you really look at -- there's the tactical question which we have discussed about. can we defeat these individuals on the ground? then there's a strategic question that needs to be asked. could we physically push these soldiers out of iraq? the answer is yes. we would effectively be pushing them into syria. i think in the -- one of the things that the leadership has to ask themselves is what kind of a middle east do they want to recognize within ten years? iran has been pushing a way to remake the map, so to speak. if we don't have a plan to go into syria and meet the enemy there, we will see almost a remake of the map where they will start -- >> would that be okay? >> to be honest i think we have watched over hundreds of years that that map shifts as the sand does over there.

democrats and republicans are awaiting a ruling expected this month on obamacare. shannon live in washington, d.c. >> reporter: let's start with the facebook case. a pennsylvania man was con vifktd making threats in violation of a federal law. that got him sentenced to jail. that was after several violent postings on his facebook page where he fantasized by his estranged wife's death saying things like i'm not going to rest until your body is a mess soaked in blood and dieing. the man's attorney argued in the supreme court that he is an aspiring rap artist posting lyrics on social media. words which included threats against co-workers law enforcement authorities and talk of shooting up a room full of kindergartners. today, the supreme court held it's not enough simply that a reasonable person would feel threatened by the words and sent that case back to the lower court for further consideration. and in another opinion today, the court found in favor of a young muslim woman who applied for a job at abercrombie and

fitch but didn't get hired. she wears a head scarf which didn't fit with their look policy. they say she never asked for any specific religious accommodation. today the court held whether a religious practice is confirmed or not, it cannot factor into employment decisions. that case is also getting to be sent back to lower courts for more action. of course we are still awaiting a decision that could have a major impact on owebamacare. they with weighing whether subsidies that are meant to under write the cost of health insurance, whether those will be struck down based on language which says the subsidies are available in states that set up their own healthcare exchanges. as we know dozens of them chose not to but still the irs gave residents in all the states subsidies anyway. >> that is going to be a big decision. what about the same sex marriage case? >> reporter: that's the other landmark decision we're waiting on.

all of these decisions are due by the end of this month. we will see in what order we get them. we have no way to predict. of course that will have potentially implications across the country as the court looks at whether there is a constitutional race for same-sex couples to get married. and in states where it has been banned but marriages have been performed in other states shgz whether the states that haven banned same-sex marriage have an obligation a constitutional duty to recognize marriages performed legally elsewhere. he would will know soon. >> shannon, thank you. this just in. what a headline. a lion kills an american woman at the world famous lion park near joehannesburgjohannesburg. the animal attacks the woman through a vehicle's window which a park official confirms was rolled down. visitors are warned to keep their victims closed. the other victim was hurt when he tried to help. that lion attacked a driver in

march. it has been removed edd from the park. as we get more information, we will bring that to you. a 9-year-old girl in critical condition after a car slammed into her at los angeles international airport. emergency crews say it happened last night at a departure terminal. the vehicle hit a girl on the sidewalk before crashing into a utility room. the driver and a passenger also suffered minor injuries. police are investigating but say the driver probably mistook the gas pedal for the brake. an investigation is under way after a crane accident in manhattan. an air conditioner came crashing down. ten people were hurt. the unit was being loaded on the 28th floor when the floor buckles and it fell. investigators looking into what caused the floor to give way. martin o'malley is hitting the campaign trail after

reporters there would be no comment on whether or not it was safe to classify these incidents as sniper attacks. they happened five miles from each other and 26 days apart in an area north of denver. on may 18, police in windsor say a 47-year-old man was riding his bike on a country road with a small trailer attached when he was shot twice and killed. he was a well-known cyclist in the area according to folks live there. a familiar sight, always on his bike. it came as a shock when they heard he was shot. the fbi has effort that linked his murder to the shooting of a man nearby which happened at 11:15 at night while she was driving. two rounds were fired at her, one hitting her in the neck. she was able to call 911 and is recovering. officials say there's no reason to believe they knew each other and therefore police believe they were chosen at random. police say folks who live in the area should be vigilant and

a u.s. warship and a russian military jet come a little too close in the black sea. the pentagon says the fighter jet conducted multiple passes near the deck of the "uss ross" on saturday. russia's state news agency says the ship our ship was acting aggressively. these are reports of a similar incident today as well. the pentagon denies any unusual behave saying the ship was well within international waters and performing routine operations.

we'll keep you updated as we hear more on that. oregon could soon become the first state to restrict food producers use of antibiotics. the medical community says antibiotics in meat are partly to blame for the boom in drug resistant bacteria. farmers and. veterinarians are crying foul arguing the new legislation would result in more sick cattle and chickens. dan springer live from our northwest bureau now. dan? >> the medical community seems to agree that the overuse of antibiotics is leading to more and more of these so-called super bugs that are resistant to treatment with antibiotics. the centers for disease control and prevention estimates they're causing 2 million people in the u.s. to get sicker per year and killing 23,000 people. part of the problem is doctors overprescribing antibiotics. but consumer groups are attacking another source -- farms in our food source. efforts in congress to crack down on the use of antibiotics on farms have gone nowhere but now the oregon legislature

appears close to passing the first law that would prevent farmers and ranchers from giving their animals antibiotics as a way to prevent illness. >> a daily low dose of antibiotics to keep the animal from getting sick. we would never do that on people. we would never do that in a room full of school children and yet we do that every day on animals. >> farm bureau opposes the bill saying it will put oregon ranchers at a disadvantage and will do little to reduce the consumption of antibiotics because food comes in from all over the country. many ranchers resent the interference. >> i want to go and say so bad to these politicians, so can i walk into your house and look at your medicine cabinet? can i go see what drugs you buy over the counter? >> reporter: but change is coming and it is being driven by some major players. mcdonald's says it will phase out beef and chicken grown with antibiotics. big producers such as tyson and now foster farms are following suit. the food and drug administration has been slow to act, but if this bill passes in oregon consumer advocates expect
