tv   Justice With Judge Jeanine  FOX News  June 7, 2015 1:00am-2:01am PDT

1:00 am
sisters aired friday night at 9:00 p.m. eastern. we want to hear your thoughts on our duggar interview. justice with judge jeanine starts right now. >> breaking news tonight, american fairio wins the belmont stakes to win the first u.s. triple counsel in 37 years. welcome to justice. i am jeanine. and the historic win just moments ago, take a look. >> here it is. american pharoah. american pharoah has won the triple crown. >> and our own rick leaventhal is there with with the latest. >> reporter: pretty amazing day
1:01 am
for the 90000 people, judge, who watched history and turned out to be history. american pharaoh leading from wire to wire and winning the triple crown. it was a terive day for horse racing and the trainer who had tried three times before to win a triple crown. this was the fourth try. victor espinoza tried and failed last year. and this on the third time was the charm. and i met the owner, he was estatic and talked about what a special horse american pharaoh is and how excited he was to be here and how important it was to him and his family and how much he wanted this, not only for him, but for the sport. and he got it. and the sport got it today. it was a remarkable achievement when you consider how many horses had a shot. three and half years.
1:02 am
and none of them were able to do it but american pharaoh did it tonight. >> rick, what was the reaction of the crowd? >> reporter: that is a good question. we had to leave and so i was not here, but one of our cameraman was standing here long the front straight. john, tell us what it was like. and what was the crowd reaction before and after the race. nelectricifying is the word to think of. i wasn'ts inially rooting for him but it was wild and the crowd was intense and electric. >> reporter: someone said the whole place was shaking. >> definitely rumpling. definitely rumbling. i got chills. >> reporter: you knew history was being made. >> i never got to see a triple crown and finally did. >> reporter: judge, you know, we've all been to a lot of these
1:03 am
races and been disappointed time and time again. and there was a lot of people disappointed american pharaoh won. and they wanted to pay money. american pharaoh paid throw- five. the owners did. >> you know, my horse won and i didn't win that much. it is better than losing. we all have memories of horse races. and congratulations for you being there when history was made. >> reporter: you're welcome, and my pleasure. i was going to show you i managed to buy a piece of history. one winning ticket. and i wagered $two on american pharaoh to win and that is worth throw.50 and i am going to catch the ticket. congratulations a only ticket you bought.
1:04 am
>> no, it is not. >> thank you so much, rick. and with me now is the reporter from the sports business journal. dan, you are here on a night when history is being made again. the triple crown since 1978. >> it is a big night for horse racing. american pharaoh may be a pop cultural icon. you will see the horse in marketing and we saw the burger king guy in the owner's box today. unfortunately the horse will put out to stud, we'll not so the horse racing take off because of this. >> touk talk to me. you mentioned something about burger kenning? >> everybody. not everybody. there is the burger king. creepy looking guy with the crown and sort of their mascot. mascot of burger king.
1:05 am
they paid a sponsorship to sponsor the horse and what they got was the creepy crown guy in the owner's box and they were all over social media ask the picture of the trainer and famous trainer with his horse and wife and behind them burger king. >> you know we heard rick say there is not a lot of winning on the winning ticket. but to get a horse to win, kentucky derby and then the preakness and then the belmont, what kind of money does it cost to train the horses? >> it is millions to do it right. it is not something that you put 5000 in and hope you do it right. it is a significant investment and there is serious places in kentucky and california where these horses come from. overseas it is a big business. and now that the horse is a winner, the costs for this
1:06 am
horse could be 40 or 50,00,000 times over. it is a big win for the owner. >> does this mean now he won the triple crown, american pharaoh won. he goes out to stud or race more. nchances are this horse will not go out to race again. the money that this horse can make to put out to stud it would be a risk if it broke a leg and had to be injured, it is a loss for the owner. >> this horse will be put out to stud and i imagine a noise life for the horse. >> a happy horse. >> but you know, the owner, who i guess, has been through a lot. and it is obviously going to rope a great deal of money as a result of this. nmillions and millions in the stud fees. and this is the first triple
1:07 am
crown in 37 years and this is the first time we have sewn this since the sports marketing has become such's big business. secretarial did it in 1970 there was no business to be had. now there is a marketing agency and leverage agency whose job is to market this horse. >> what about the culture and the fact that now, we are back into. and when i asked rick the question. i had heard the audience and crowds, cheering. you felt grachlt it was a great feeling that you know, we are so consumed with negative news, that the feeling of everybody yelling and cheering and a horse winning, is this going to be a new sport for america? is it coming back? >> i don't think so. we'll not see american pharaoh first of all because the horse will be put out to stud. >> but americans, more going
1:08 am
back to the race track? >> perhaps we saw another triple crown attempt at belmont, yes. america likes big sporting event. baseball, football or the u.s. open of tennis. say serena williams and going for a grand slam and her final in the u.s. open would be a big spectacle. >> and dan, thank you for being with us. thanks, again. >> and now, taking a turn to a story that captivated millions in the nation, the startling molestation claims against josh duggar and the revealing interview with the family. >> we have been strengthened through this difficult situation and i think now, it was brought out in such a way that really has been slanderous and cruel to
1:09 am
the victims, i think now, we can truly say we dealt with that years ago. and if we deal with that conflict or whatever in the right way, it strengthens relationships as well. and through the years, people watched our family, and all, we haven't been fake. when people come up to us and say we love your show, thank you, it is not a show, it is our life. and we are a family honestly living life purposing by god to do the next right thing. and 12 years ago, we did the best we anyhow how at that point and we have learned things since then. and by god's grace we'll continue to learn and help our children and grandchildren. >> and with me now. renowned celebrity public sift michael levin who worked with michael jackson, and barbara
1:10 am
striesland and former president bill clinton to name a few and entertainment attorney donro mano. dom nick, i will start with you. one thing is clear, and that is the statute of limitation and no criminal charges. will the show be taken off of the year and what criteria will be used. >> tlc has a history of pulling show. honey boo, boo, they tack it off. here they have more time. there they had a complete. and this is number one show on tlc and fwif million in adrevenue. and they have time. but i doubt this show will be back on the air. >> but you know, you think about it 19 and counting is the name of it. excuse me, i don't watch the shoes and can there be spin
1:11 am
offs? the wedding of one of the daughters 4.4 million. they can have the family in there. >> but tlc will have to do soul searching. it is popular and ten seasons and some of these abate controversy. the comments by the parents against the lgtb community. and the father ran for the u.s. senates and those who accused and convicted of incest should be executed and now they are in an unfortunate situation. >> and don't these networks tlc want these controversial kind of you know, cultural shoes, you have the right and left and isn't that what sells and for them to say we are upset because you made that comment. isn't that making the final
1:12 am
decision. >> they could invoke the moral clause. they are not obligated to put the show back on the air. >> and when you are on reality television and choose to go on reality television and in that glass house you have to be careful about throwing stones. >> should the duggars have told tlc about the issue and if they did, does that stop tlc from dropping or cancelling. >> look at the disdpuft in social media and the controversy around the show. when the allegations came out and apparent admission, tlc unfortunately was airing a marathon and it pulled it on the friday afternoon. they are in a uncomfortable and i don't think there is a future for the show or spin off. >> interesting, i am not so sure. we'll go to michael levin. you are there. and talk to me, should the
1:13 am
duggars have done the interview that we saw with megyn kelliy, this is what you do for a living. >> the big wins megyn. she did a superb job. >> oh, yes. >> i am with you, judge, i think prophecies dubious business. but controversy is good for ratings and not so fast. i think the possibility that this show or a sequel type show could exist is very real in today's culture. >> what would your advice to the duggars be now? >> well, you got to be careful. when you are in a hole, the number one rule is stop dugging. and don't do the stuff that got you in the first place. i have beened in of meetings with producers like this. and the producers of this show are nervous as i hemophilia in
1:14 am
a razor fiktry. you just don't know what tips public opinion and will there be more revelations? prophecy is dubious business. but controversy is good for ratings. >> and you know, dom nick said. they got rid of honey boo- boo and paula deen, and duck dynasty was able to stay. is this a no win for tlc, they keep the show it is where they go along with the molestation and if they don't, they are not compliceit. but there was no conviction and 12 years ago and how does tlc assess its damage? >> well, that's right, judge, they have to figure out what is
1:15 am
the damage? the implications to the brand? one show does not a brand make and they have to assess that and it is adeleicate place. >> and should the duggars knowing what they knew, agreed to do the reality show? you first michael and thendom nick. >> there is nothing wrong with the show. this is kine of one of these things that you could not have predicted. ufo. unforeseen occurrence. >> maybe. if you are going to do the show, watch what you say about other people. and . >> thank you so much for joining us tonight. >> and all right. coming up. vilen crime soars in major cities in the u.s.
1:16 am
is the ferguson affect putting your lives at
1:17 am
1:18 am
1:19 am
>> developing tonight, new fears of crime in big city.
1:20 am
houston, atlanta, baltimore, chicago and milwaukee. this has police fear legal and political back lash for doing their jobs. has the so- called ferguson affect caused a decline in crime? we'll ask the milwaukee county sheriff david clark who joins me now. good evening, sheriff. police are looked as the enemy and targeted themselves. what incentive for a police officer to do his or her job? >> first of good evening, judge. officers don't quit. the crim that wills are watching all of this, too and they know the police are on their heels and the criminal has the support with the political class and couple that with fail would social engineering experiments
1:21 am
with the reform and eliminate jails and prisones. and couple that as a law enforcement officer and you keeple them together and you can so the disaster. i predicted this several years in milwaukee and here it is today. >> you know, sheriff, you and i have been in the business a long time. i remember the '80s, the '70s and 20 years crime has been going down. do you expect to so it continue to rise in we are seeing this increase, some places, you know 80 or 50 or 140 percent increase in homicides in some of the biggest suburban areas. is it going to go up? >> i expect this level to be maintained. as you know from experience. rises in crimes don't happen overnight. it has been coming sometime.
1:22 am
and now we turned off the engine of the police officers. they are type a personalities and once you shut that engine h we rebuild the morale of the police officer we can get control of the streets. >> how do we rebuild their morale. they are targeted for death. coming from the white house, the mayor of new york city. demonization of our police by the political class as you call it is horrific. it is going to take police chiefs to go to the political class and tell them to back off and knock it off. the saw the commissioner threw his police department when he said we are the problem and blamed the police officer. and we have to reassure the law enforcement officer, things go
1:23 am
wrong in the chaotic world that the officer resides in. but the officer needs to be reassured of justice. and they can get control of the streets and serve the people in the way that they took an oath to do. >> there is it a huge drop in new york city, and crime is increasing. and the mayor can say whatever he wants to say. clearly in my mind, there is a connection. with political correctness, arept more and more african-americans victims of homicides and crimes because there is not the stop and frisk of people looking to shoot them? >> the liberal mainstream media is not helping. broken windows and terry stops
1:24 am
and stop and frisk work. and concentrated fashion. and mistakes are made. you tighten it out. and you don't throw the baby out with the bath water. and it is a lawful stop and send them out to work in concentrated numbers like in new york city and like we were not doing in other cities in america. go back to work in concentrated levels, and restore like i said and reassure and restore their moral and we'll get control of the streets. but right now the criminal is in charge of the urban streets. >> i would love to be a fly on the wall when you approach the political class about your concerns. >> thank you. >> and president obama said he restored the u.s. as the most respected country on earth. you will not want to miss that one next. and justice exclusive, the man

who got wall street up and running just six days after the 9/11 terror attack.

1:30 am
now back to justice with judge jeanine right here on fox. >> people don't remember when i came in to office. the united states in world opinion rank the below china and russia. today the united states is one of the most respected. >> what an ego. with all due respect. i am not sure if you are delougzal or you think we are. we are the most respected country on earth because of you. and you say this why? might have been the reset of the russia that alieneted the ukrainians and chechs and refuse the address the red line with
1:31 am
syria or refuse to support ally egypt now forceed to buy weapons with russia and how about benghazi. and had you shown up with others to denounce the slaughter of innocents in paris. but you can't say the words muslim terrorist. our true partners don't know what to think. isis continue the strength of victories, and you you say don't believe your lying eyes. you even know that iran, china and russia and isis are the enemy? and even in this country half of americans disapprove of the job your're doing. doing interviews with a bim bo in a bath tub has gained you
1:32 am
respect? let's focus on your performance. your tsa. allowing grenade and knives to get past security. and i have to take my shoes off? this is on the heels of the pept gone admitting they may have sent anthrax over 15 times to the states. an agency of veterans who can't make sure our military get the medical care. your own secret service is so amateur they call a gun shot through the white house window a back fire. the irs is a political weapon targeting the opposition. and have they considered looking at the charity status of the clinton foundation?
1:33 am
the drug enforcement agencies too busy cavorting with hookers. none of my core principles is that i will never engage in politics in which i am trying to make people less than me because they look different or have a different religion. >> and so you would never divide people or treat them different because of a different religion? you think that baltimore or trayvon martin case reflected that if i los foe. and you think that the national prayer break fast to trash christians telling us to get off our high horse. you can't conduct the people's business running around saying things that are not true. you can keep your doctor? and conduct the people's business being thin skinned and
1:34 am
critizing our allies like netanyahu and shifting the blame every time something goes wrong. you have to make people accountable who make mistabs and you have to fire them and not promote them. but then again, you never have been a chief executive. in a real corporation you would not pull the wool over the share holders eyes the way you did with the american people. let me know what you think at judge jeanine. my next guest knows how to run a company. six days after the 9/11 attacks he got the exchange up and running and credited with getting the system back in business. dick grasso joins me now. >> great to be with you on the historic day. i am not talking about the tleb year drought over in the triple
1:35 am
corn. but the 71% anniversary of the brave men who jumped out of airplanes from the 82nd and 101 first air-borne and launched our invasion in normandy. you talk about the world's respect for america. i think there is respect, respect in the sense when all goes wrong, the world calls upon the greatest military that the earth every known. >> but is it reacting or responding to the call. our military didn't respond to benghazi. and what is going on in the middle east with christians? we have a leader who is a leader in name only. separate the politics from the policy. right. and the policy and the application of military policy. we still have the greatest men and women in uniform and are
1:36 am
capable on a moment's notice. if there were the political will to say we're going to end isis, that would be over in about three weeks. >> no question the military is the best. they are comeingly home with newer limbbes and not treated. >> it is a national shame. the veteran's administration and the new leader is trying his best. he is a military man. but you know, you need in times like these, where you see these extensive waits. people doing before they see a doctor. you need someone to go in there with an axe and start chipping away. in a corporation, you measure and motivate and hold people accountable and if they don't perform get rid of them. >> why is that not happening
1:37 am
here? >> i think the new leadership in the van is trying. >> but talk about in america. all of the mistakes by the dean and secret service and irs, all of these issues, no one is replaced. they are promoted. >> again, you have to separate politics from policy. >> but we live under the politics of this government. >> and there are wonderful career professionals in all of those agencies. do they have the right leadership and motivation and right political will above them saying go do the job. that's the question voters will answer in november 2016. >> what does it take to be a leader? >> it takes vision and strength and ability to build a team. you talked about what happened in the city on 9/11.
1:38 am
no one person including myself got the market back up. it was a collective. it was an american effort on the part of so many people. you had a great mayor who said to the private sector, go do your thing and i will support you. i ran the stock exchange. and i said to the firms, put your typical jerseys. you are not sa chs or morgan stanley. you are the united states of america. you will bring back the capitol markets and that morning on september 17th. >> and we did it. >> you are a leader and you brought people together and you took charge and made history happen. you made history. >> so many thousands of people were behind me and let's never forget what happen 71 years ago today. every politician that runs for office should stand at the
1:39 am
cemetery to never forget that sacrifice. nhopeful local we'll have a leader that will not forget that. >> delighted to be with you, judge. ncould there be a link between isis and the

>> break news tonight. american pharaoh won the belmont stakes to win the first triple crown in then years. joining me on the phone is peter. peter put it in historical context for us. >> reporter: it is a great day for horse racing and i saw your guest saying it was not a huge deal. it is huge deal. this is something that racing
1:44 am
fans have been waiting for then years and now this horse, american pharaoh with an amazing story gets to join the others. and for a lot of sport fans, they've never seen a triple crown winner and if they did they were a young child. and so anything that is close to four decades and not happening, he's done it and american pharaoh is a legend. >> it is certainly a happy time for people in sports and american pharaoh, the trainer, the owner, and the guy who rides the horse. the jockey. >> the jockey, mr. victor espinoza. he won the first two legs with the probingness and kentucky. and so to finish today was awesome as well. >> i love it when they come back. changing gears, president obama continues to throw barbes at one
1:45 am
of our strongest allies, israel. >> his statements had suggested that there is a possibility of a palestinian state. but it has so many caveats and so many conditions that it is not realistic to think that those conditions would be met in the near future and so the dangerous here, is that israel as a whole loses credibility. >> with me now israeli defense force captain and author of the new book down the dead. dan gordon and you just came back from israel. what do the people in israel think of our president and that interview in particular. >> i think there is a tendency to think that the history of
1:46 am
israel began with the election of bb netanyahu. we did what the international community and then senator barak obama said we would do to get credibility and peace. we deployed the israel defense forces against 10000 people. but against the israeli jews and pulled them out of the settlements that were supposedly the problem. and pulled them out of homes and farps and places was worship and gave gaza back to the palestinian authority and we got hamas and no peace and 12000 rockets and one of those terrifying things as a saw as a soldier terrorist tunnel attacks that came up in kindergartens and dining halls with the attempt to kidnap and maim and murder back in gaza our men, women and children. and so we have a caveat or two.
1:47 am
>> i will not get too much in the discussion of united states/israeli relations. does israel understand that irrespective of who the leader is america will tanned with israel. are they skeptical now? >> they are grateful to any people on the face of the world to the american people and united states of america, we know that the first country that recognized israel was the united states and we know that the american people have our backs and we have nothing but gratitude for the united states of america and you can see the american servicemen in israel he can't buy his dinnero drink. it gets bought for him. day of the dead, it is a great book and speaks of your experiences, tell us about this. >> i have been in six middle
1:48 am
eastern wars including last year 2014. and that ushered the tunnels from gaza to israel and all of the sudden, it was like night of the living dead. your lawn opens up and like zombies coming out of the ground a dozen of terrorist and thousands of rounds of ammunition and meant to take women and children hostage and drag them back into gaza. as i began researching the book, i realized that the country more vulnerable to that than israel was. is the united states of america. >> and why? >> because we have drug smuggling tunnels that exist right now that exist beneath the
1:49 am
california, arizona and texas border. it is not only inconceivable but problemable that the terrorist organizations have developed ties with the drug cartels. we know they have in south america. isis is the richest terrorist organization in the history of the world and it has billions. that is the language they understand. with the drug smuggling tunnels that exist. you could put 5000 terrorist here in california in to arizona and texas. >> i am sorry we don't have more time for. this that is a frightening concept and based on a lot of reality as well. dave, it is a pleasure having you on, captain and we appreciate what you do with the israeli defense force. >> right back at you. nall right. dan gordon, day of the dead. dan gordon, day of the dead. and coming up.
1:50 am
mr. auto-mo-deal!s! hey, it's the wheel deal! hey, hey, the duke of deals! i know a few guys in the rental car biz. let's go, 'wheels'. rental car deals up to 40% off.

my next guest says there's an increase of frightening radicalization in our jails.
1:54 am
the inspector general joins me now. good evening, patrick. i mean, you see the radicalization of inmates in our prisons going unchecked. how is it that we even select and do we supervise muslim religious service providers. >> well, that's a problem that's been going on for years ever since 9/11 when we found out that there was a stream of radical clergy, islamic clergy within the prison system. since that time, we have never been able to come to an agreement as to how to certify or select islamic clergy. >> all right. so there's a certification if you're a catholic chaplain or if you're a pastor or a rabbi. but no certification to assess whether or not you're arn imam. >> that's correct. >> so anybody can come in and say i'm an imam. >> that's correct. >> wow. and they have access to the prisoners. is it always in english? or could it be in arabic? >> oh, no, if you're going to be
1:55 am
a true follower of allah, then you've got to learn how to read the koran in arabic. many of them have taught arabic classes to the inmates besides the koran. >> so our conversation the inmates have with inmates, are they private or whatever it might be in that religion? >> that is a private conversation. it's like a clergy -- a privileged conversation between the individual inmate and the imam. it's different if they're having services with, it may be security personnel around the area or listening to the service. but on the one-on-one contact, that is private. >> all right. and, you know, there are, as i understand it, there's only three states in the country, patrick, that require a criminal background check on applicants prior to hiring. so that means that, right now, we've got delaware, wisconsin and florida and the feds who check a criminal rap sheet. but most states don't.
1:56 am
>> that's correct. and a lot of the islamic clergy when they were first hired were as defenders. individuals who converted to islam in prison, came out, got a certificate of release from the parole board and then went back in from the next day as an employee. >> so we expect that everything is just on the up and up and we're not doing anything about this. >> well, we're spoezed to be following a program that was instituted called a correctional intelligence initiative which is supposed to monitor all of those issues. >> we're going to have you back on this, patrick. this is fascinating. thank you. that's it for us tonight. thanks for joining us.
