is there anything the u.s. can do to better protect the information and the sense tif systems out there? >> it's -- to be fair not just china, but a lot of nations out there act in their own best interests. for a lot of nation china included at the top. they have the remit of protecting the state and protecting their private industry. that's why they've been so active in economic espionage. it's an effort to jump-start their economy by avoiding the research and development phase and all the peskyness of that and hoovering up all the information from us and others. this is where there's a two-prong effort. one is obviously the software, the firewalls, the i.t. solutions, staying ahead of the malware. it's a massive overt, because last year alone by some accounts possibly 370 million new pieces of malware were

release released. the other side of the coin is in the u.s. we have to get better at cooperation between the private and public sectors, particular the fbi -- the fbi is masse a massive effort to improve the coordination and cooperation with the commercial sector but it's a very heavy lift. >> it's a heavy lift but we've been talking about this for quite a while. i'm sure folks are asking why can't we just get it together? >> companies here in the u.s. have been reluctant for a number of years to come forward with information that they've been attacked. frankly, it can be up to or over 400 days from time of attack under the time that company is aware they have been victimized. the problem has been they don't want to release that information. we have to get better at sharing best practices. we have to get better at a twoway dialogue between the private sector and public sector. >> we did some reports on that

now to the iranian deal. there are reports that tehran will accept what they call a snap-back requirements on the deal. it has cautioned some major questions to remain including whether the inspectors will have access to iranian military sites. iran has said they're off-limits. with that can a deal be trusted? we have a retired member of the

>> it is a good sign of the economy. the latest jobs report showing 280,000 johns were added last

month. that number is higher than analysts expected. still, while most are getting paychecks many do not get raises. according to the "wall street journal" unemployment rates and nonfarm payrolls for 33 united states metropolitan areas have returned to pre-recession levels. in two-thirds of the cities wage growth trails the prerecession pace. and here to talk about this is brenda butner anchor of "bulls & bears." >> economics 101 would say unemployment is down and wages go up. you are saying that is not the case in many cities? >> that is one of the first things i learned in economics. the problem is the decline unemployment rate is masking the pool of available workers. there are a lot of workers who dropped out and were not counted in the rolls and they are coming back on, temp workers and

a big pool of available workers. wages do not have to go up because the employers have large number of people who choose from. >> and there is this: you could look at it two ways, bear with me you could say some employers are nervous of racing wages because we could hit another severe recession. i say some employers have been getting by with fewer employees lower wages and they have bigger profit margins, so why change? >> i am with you on both of those. there are a number of factors going on which is stopping employers from increasing wages. one is overseas competition. a lost overseas firms charge less for their workers. it is difficult to compete. you are right in the sense that psychologically, a lot of these employers are scared, like we

are. this was a big hit we took in the economy in 2008. it is hard to go back. in fact, in the first quarter of this year, wages were up 2.6 percent over last year. traditionally, it is 4 percent. it could take a long-term before we get there. that is a profit margin issue. profit margins are not that much. you are right they have been making or doing more with fewer workers. the problem is, roddist isn't expected to increase. that is when you can increase wages. >> there are a lot of things working against employers. >> why is productivity not expected to increase? >> we had huge productivity gains in the 1990s and early 2000 because of increase in technology. we purred the envelope until we go to robots. >> any affect on the interest
