we wish him and mrs. bush all the best. that's it for today. have a great week. we'll see you next "fox news sunday." a prison break and a manhunt is massive for two convicted killers. and this is key, a border watch is under way as part of this because the prison is just 20 miles from the line between us and canada. but now we're being told the men could be anywhere. so there's reward money coming in at this hour. authorities have posted a $100,000 reward for information leading to the capture of these two men. the one on the left was serving a life sentence for murdering a sheriff deputy and the one on the right was doing 25 years to life for kidnapping and killing and dismembering his former boss. officials at a correction facility in upstate new york reported them missing yesterday and that alert prompted the huge

search to begin involving bloodhounds, road blocks and hundreds of police officers. here's what we know. the inmates used power tools to escape cutting through steel walls and pipes. the governor of new york saying it would have taken a lot of planning and a lot of time to pull this off. investigators found a note taunting authorities. it contains a crude caricature and the words "have a nice day." brian llenas is live. reports are that they might have gotten outside or inside the prison. >> that's right. no one has ever escaped the maximum portion since it was built in 1865 until now. the prison is located in dannemore, upstate new york less than a two-hour drive from montreal canada.

david swift on your left and richard on the right must have taken days to pull off their sophisticated escape during a saturday morning 5:30 a.m. bed check, both convicted murders were missing. their beds stuffed with clothes to appear that they were sleeping. behind the bed, a cleanly cut square hole. they believe that they used power tools and then walked on a cat walk breaking through a break wall two feet thick. they then cut an opening in a steel pipe shimmying their way through the pipe but not before leaving behind this yellow note taunting officials reading "have a nice day" and escaping through a chained manhole cover blocks away. they don't believe someone helped them open that manhole from the outside. >> you couldn't go from the street level through the manhole with you we have carefully

retraced the steps literally from the cell to the manhole cover, which is where they exited and are quite confident that it was from within. >> a big question is where the men got the power tools. investigators believe they may have come from inside the prison. >> everyone has been accounted for. that seems to lead to the possibility of a contractor having left it unsecured and perhaps not unaccounted for and perhaps obtained by the inmates. it's speculation at this point. >> contractors were making repairs on that old prison. >> very interesting. they didn't feel like they were missing any tools. he was talking about them being accounted for. so were tools brought from off that campus and on. a lot of movie references made by some of the authorities today and i mentioned today that this prison is near the canadian border. so they are focusing on that but

really they don't know where these guys are? >> that's exactly what governor cuomo said during the press conference. they believe the men would have had outside help which widens the search. they could be anywhere including canada new york state and neighboring vermont. over 250 law enforcement officials, plus the road blocks and bloodhounds and helicopters are all in use. they are actively working with canadian officials. again, officials emphasizing these two murders are considered a danger to the public harris. >> it's important to get their pictures out. we'll pop those up again and put them on our media page. brian llenas, thank you so much. we move on to germany where the g-7 summit nation of meetings. that's not exactly news of course and russia's move for the first time and they have been moving in that region for quite some time but first they

reliant on the russians for energy in particular. natural gas. experts tell us getting that full buy-in and maintain that unity is a very difficult sell for the president. >> renewed fighting on ukraine's east and so the underlying dynamics on the ground are changing at a time when i think the united states should be considering additional sanctions on top of the renewal. >> got to try to keep applying that pressure. that's what they are telling us here. harris? >> interesting that the president would start there with russia because he's taken criticism as home about being hands off with regard to russia's move in that part of the world. and then the photo ops. thanks very much kevin. good to see you. >> you bet. >> let's go on to france now. police arrested two men in connection with a terror plot to hit a church near paris. it's not clear what role they are playing but they did help out, according to their

investigation. a 24-year-old terror suspect arrested in april. police accused that suspect of killing a woman near that church. and this is worth noting. investigators say the 24-year-old man was getting instructions from someone inside syria. fox news is america's national headquarters. there are a con firmed 12 republican candidates. republican governor scott walker sits at or near the top of the recent iowa polling but says the term front runner should go to another candidate. >> i think governor bush is probably still up there at front because he's going to have more money than all of us combined but we're feeling good. >> a lot of the candidates today were seen. governor walker was one of them making the top show rounds

today. christian fisher is in washington. >> thank you so much. >> what were the issues that they were focused on? >> well the candidates had a lot of issues to ground today. one topic that almost all of them hit was immigration, specifically hillary clinton's recent comments on voting rights. you may remember three days ago at a campaign stop in texas, the democratic front-runner took a swing at her competitors and telling them to stop fearmongering about voter fraud. today, two of the republicans that she called out by name fired back. >> i think it's way outside the norm of ridiculous if you want to know the truth of the matter to call out the people of the state of texas. >> i don't know what her beef is with the people in the state of texas about voter i.d. but i think she's on the wrong side of the issue. >> maybe she took some questions, maybe she wouldn't

make such a ridiculous statement. >> lindsey graham and rick santorum hit the sunday morning circuit and the gop field is about to get more crowded. we're still waiting on scott walker bobby jindal and, of course jeb bush. he will announce one way or another on june 15th. >> if you look across the political aisle, hillary clinton is getting company, too. are we hearing from any of the democratic candidates? >> only one was on the sunday morning circuit today, the democratic field is much smaller than the gop field. there's just four democratic candidates compared to 10 republicans and growing. hillary clinton skipped the first major campaign speech which will happen on saturday. that left lincoln chafee to hit the sunday shows. >> that was a big mistake when we're trying to restart our relationship with russia and

>> we're going to look into this. we definitely have acrisis in the south driven primarily by the drug trade. the overall security of the border needs to be a national priority not just to stop the drugs but to protect the people in the united states to deal with the drug trafficking and other illegal activity. >> the border patrol told me that it was used by the office of air and marine part of customs and border patrol. those helicopters fly over the rio grande making sure that nobody is sneaking into the united states illegally or conducting illegal affairs. >> we haven't heard a lot about laredo until recently. is there an uptick in the violence in laredo texas? >> that's right. there is.

points democrat over republican. in her base when you deal with the question for instance, when you get to the scandals in benghazi they are very supportive. the vote of the american people think that's a legitimate issue, including a large number of base. she needs to win in her base beyond this besides minority. it is women, young people and upper educated wealthy people. >> wouldn't you say this is a good move? >> no. because here's the problem. the fact is i think it's require relevant because when you get into the question about the foundation look at the fox poll which got -- we haven't paid much attention to it. as to whether they were trading favors overwhelming 61% of the people believed that. you have 41% of democrats, which is incredible 59% of women, 39% of african-americans. i mean we're talking her base. 63% voters under 35.

she's doing -- when those voters -- young people concentrate on this and what happens with these voters -- >> i want to finish your thought because you ran away like a train at the end of that. >> i'm sorry. >> what you're saying is that trustworthiness is an issue for all of the percentages that you listed? >> yes. we're talking about every one of these. we don't understand voters do it this way. people who are for her, these things seep in. they take time. people have to resolve conflict. >> she's not seen as a strong leader? >> she may be seen as a strong leader but not -- her numbers are not great overall. >> for which numbers? >> cares about people like me. >> okay. yeah. >> she's got a lot of people -- >> i think you're overstating, pat. >> i want to get john in here. john i want to pop up another poll. it shows how there are four democrats in the race now and i know you all laugh at that.

one of them is senator bernie sanders. when you look at the video of the crowds coming out for him, it looks like some of the hillary clinton clinton supporters just fled because she gave a women-only event and had to invite men to sell enough fundraising tickets. we don't know what is resonating with him. it could be the not hillary situation. he seems to be siphoning some of the younger democratic voters that pat is talking about. >> huge crowd in iowa and huge crowd in minnesota. the question we need to answer is what pat has just said was no one ever on any tv show has brought this up. i watched all of these polls being talked about on tv. hillary clinton is still ahead with every republican challenger that's the end of the poll. >> what are they missing? >> all of this. that in fact she is in trouble in her own base. >> in her own party. >> and it's deteriorating bit by

bit. that's why bernie sanders is throwing her out. >> didn't you say that bernie sanders was real potential? >> no. he could win iowa. >> that would be huge. >> what's interesting to note about this though and if we pop those numbers up you're right, there's a huge gulch between hillary clinton and bernie sanders. however, what this shows potentially is that when republicans stack up against her, she's got some weaknesses because, remember, when you look at the polling for hillary clinton among some of those gop candidates she doesn't reach 50%. >> in any of them. >> in any of them. >> that's why i'm saying when you look at those horse races and start looking at the groups that maintain her support in that -- that's what i described as a metastasizing cancer. they are beginning to ask questions. i guarantee you this about the democratic party. she could be what gene mccarthy was as a democrat.
