fight the description of david sweat and richard matt who escaped back on june 6th. this afternoon, a witness spotted two men matching the men along the rail rod line in a town of friendship the state police and officers from the state department police and they are currently searching an area long interstate 86 by friendship. they have aviation and canine and special operations on the scone. the state police is reminding people that they should be considered dangerous. they are career criminals and both were convicted of murder and on the run and to avoid getting caught. the reported sighting comes a woke after two other sightings not far from this location

roughly 60 miles southwest of where this is today. two men matching the description of the escaped convicts were sewn walk withing by the rail yard. and the next day a witness saw two men walking in lindly headed in the direction of the pennsylvania border. investigators gettingered surveillance tape and saying it is inconclusive so far. you have those two sighting it is and another sighting today to the west of that location. that is grabbing the attention of new york state police and other investigators. >> they have nothing to lose. we know a correction's officer was put on the love. >> there is an ongoing investigation about what went wrong in the preson walls and whether or not they had help on the inside.

and we know that one prison employee who worked in the tailor shop was charged in aiding their escape. it is joyce mitchell. but the correction's department put one officer on leave. they didn't say whether he was involved. but he was put on leave in connection with the investigation of what went wrong in the prison. >> another worker joyce mitchell, the alleged accomplice in the case. >> she is behind bars. her husband was questioned about involvement he may have had. he said he was bloind sided and in love with his wife and had no idea that she had an affair with the inmates and gave them tols and helped them to escape. there are reports locally and from the prosecutor, that she

may have tried to assist them in murdering her husband and got cold feet. but she is charged with accessory to their escape. the husband is not charged and the big news is that they have another reported sighting and there are dozens if not hundreds of law enforcement searching to find these men. >> it sounds like a positive love. they said they would not stop unless they found them. thank you. >> and in the moan time over in new orleans, an all out manhunt. a suspect killed a police officer inside of his police carouser. 33 year old travis boyd was able to get free while he was in the back of the cruiser. >> that prisoner got his hands

from behind his back and he was handcuffed in the front and he's double-jointed and able to do that in the back of the car and was able to produce a fire arm and shot at the officer. >> the officer killed was holway. a veteran of the force. >> where are the officers looking right now? >> reporter: they have a neighborhood in new orleans covered and all looking for a suspect who shot and killed a police officer who was a father of three. police say travis boyd was arrested for aggravated vault and officer daril holway was

transporting him. boyd moved them and managed to push through a small opening that separates the holding of the car and front seat. boyd pulled out a gun. where we got it we don't know. he shot the officer in the head who died a short time later in the hospital. >> the officer's gun was in his holster. we believe it was not the officer's gun. and as officers continue to the search. many of the men and women are close friends of officer holloway. he had to call his three children and tell them that their father was shot and killed on father's day weekend. >> will what more do we know about the suspect in>> reporter:

a weeking on and one of them today. 150 miles southwest of us in new york. and the latest sighting occurred this afternoon. a witness reported seeing two men who matched the description of the escapeys in an area near the highway and near the railroad tracks. >> the officers and state parks police and sheriff's department and law enforcement converged on the scene with canine units. they are investigating the southwest portion of new york state near the pennsylvania border. this area that they are looking at now 60 miles west of two other reported sightings one woking on. that day someone reported seeing two men who matched the
