the law. lawmakers argued they were ones given the power by the constitution. >> thank you. despite today's supreme court ruling the obama administration is going full speed ahead with its regulation agenda. on a milestone mark for regulation nation. >> reporter: finalizing rules on obamacare and homeland security this morning, the obama administration has implemented its 500th major regulation. this according to a tally by the conservative american action forum. >> regulations can either produce profits.
1:05 am
it can either lay off employees or eventually these costs have to be borne by someone and typically it is borne by the consumer. >> reporter: efficiency standards on appliances like refrigerators the forum says will cost more than $25 billion. >> just take a look at fiscal year 2012 when the administration admitted it was the most expensive in the ways they did cost accounting. >> reporter: quote, simply focusing on costs ignores the high net benefits to americans from many regulations. in terms of promoting health, safety, and welfare as well as reducing long run costs to the american economy. those costs total about $200 billion. >> people expect the government to protect them, to make sure that the food they eat is safe the water they drink is clean,
1:06 am
the air they breathe is clean, that workers are protected, and i think a lot of the actions that we're talking about in this context go towards all of those goals. >> as for that 500th major rule the government accountability office refuses to confirm that total. a search of its database confirms the milestone. >> thank you. everyone is still talking about last week's decision legalizing same-sex marriage across the country. here tonight with a look at that ruling and what it tells us about the court is senior political analyst brett hume. >> a supreme court majority discovered there existed in the constitution a generalized right to marital privacy. robert found this fight in
1:07 am
quote, which emanated from various other parts of the constitution which has somehow gone unnoticed for nearly two centuries. eight years later, the court discovered this privacy right contained another right, a right to abortion. few minds of legal reasoning have been widely ridicules. this is the risk the court runs when it reads rights in the constitution that is not in there. that's clearly what the majority has done in discovering a right to gay marriage. it is at odds with the whole concept of marriage as understood for millennia. justice hagan said there was no right to gay marriage in the constitution. she was right, but the court, with her support, has decreed there is one.
1:08 am
brett. >> what about the premise of religious freedom and the challenges that may come in that regard? >> well there are already signs those are valid worries. the solicitor general acknowledged that questions about the tax exemption of religious organizations would rise in a ruling of his favor, which he got. you look at the majority opinion. it makes a kind of paragraph long nod to religious freedoms saying they can be advocated and taught but he never said exercised as dissenters noted. we'll get reaction to the court's decision decisions, along with plenty of other issues with louisiana governor bobby jindal in our "center seat" at the bottom of the hour. if you have a question for the governor now's the time to ask.

>> reporter: and more trouble. all the banks in the country were closed by the government until at least next week. >> what do you think? >> i think a lot of things but i cannot tell. >> reporter: this after greece rejected new demands from the eu about dealing with its debt and eu pulled the plug on emergency funding and a bailout program. greece's prime minister at the left wing party had some tough words. >> it is more than clear that this decision had no other goal but to block the will of the greek people. >> reporter: a referendum called for sunday will ask voters to say yes or no to european union demands. it could mean grexit from the euro. >> it would be disastrous for the future. >> reporter: the eu is a key
1:15 am
trading partner. trouble for the euro means trouble for us. with isis attacking nearby and an aggressive vladimir putin trying to make inroads, the u.s. needs a stable greece and a healthy europe. all this a good reason why president obama worked the phones on sunday and monday with european leaders and why the treasure department officials were in direct contact with greek officials here. they do not want to see this country go down. but yes, on tuesday, we have another landmark. a $1.1 million payment which should be paid to the international monetary fund by greece. this country, this continent, is going into uncharted waters. >> live in at&thens.

1:18 am
analysts said the iranian government is hemorrhaging money, but none the less senses an opportunity in the talks. >> so you're suggesting that perhaps even though they need it more we may want it more. >> it is an asymmetry of desire. president obama wants to leave this legacy of solving the iran conflict. the organizing principle of the iranian government is resistance against the united states. >> reporter: u.s. officials have long made clear there is no formal linkage between the iranian nuclear talks and the cases of several americans who are being held in iran against their will however these same officials continue to use all available channels including the sidelines of these talks, to press for the release of these americans. the officials told us they continue to work the cases on all fronts.

nbc says you're fired to donald trump. the network announced today it will completely sever its business ties with trump because of his comments about mexican immigrants immigrants. nbc said in a statement respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values. donald trump says the network is weak and says the network is trying to be politically correct. >> they are going to take a difference stance and that's okay. whatever they want to do is okay with me. i've had a lot of great relationship with nbc. i think as far as ending the relationship i have to do that because my view on immigration is much different than the people at nbc. >> trump added in a statement about nbc, quote, they will stand behind lying brian williams but won't stand behind

well. there is growing concern tonight that the nation's birthday party could be crashed by islamic troer terrorists. 69% of you are worried about islamic extremists attacking the homeland. we have the latest warning from the obama administration. good evening. >> reporter: the white house spokesman seemed to dismiss the bulletin as routine. >> it's not uncommon for these kinds of joint information bulletins to be issued in advance of the fourth of july. i can also say that there is no specific credible intelligence to indicate any threats against celebrations over the fourth of july weekend. >> reporter: but those briefs on the intelligence say otherwise. it warns of a heightened threat over the holiday weekend. there was a june 2nd confrontation confrontation, an isis supporter
1:26 am
who was shot and killed outside of a boston cvs after he lunged at federal investigators who wanted to question him. the spike in arrests is concerning. >> there's been about 50 people in the last 12 months who have been arrested in the united states for being radicalized by isis wanting to go fight there, or wanting to commit an attack here, so there's a lot of people out there who are seeing themselves as aligned with isis. >> reporter: there's no connection between friday's attacks in france kuwait, and cue kneenee tunisia, tlfrs a sell -- there was a selfie in a beheading. >> isis is not just regionalized like the administration says but is a global threat.

appoint justices that read the constitution. you had justices where words no
1:37 am
longer have meanings. i have the easiest way to fix this is to appoint justices who will read the dictionary and the constitution. i don't think adding more politics to this body fixes it. secondly -- look i'm a christian and a conservative. we have a bigger issue in terms of where the culture is moving. unlike hillary clinton and president obama, my beliefs aren't evolving with the polls when it comes to marriage. the easiest thing for any politician to do is read an opinion poll. that's what the court did. that's what the president has done. >> on obamacare, if you're president, obamacare goes away. that's what you have promised to do. what do the 10 million or so people who have it now get in place of it? >> i'm the only candidate that
1:38 am
has a detailed plan on how to get rid of obamacare and replace it. for republicans, it is a great one-liner. >> what's the shorthand for your plan? >> if the standard tax deductions crack down on frivolous lawsuits drive down premiums on average. secondly $10 billion a year to the states to help those that are priced out of the individual marketplace, those with preexisting conditions those not able to afford their health care. specific reforms to medicaid and medicare. making health care affordable to consumers and provider. this drives down the cost but what it doesn't do is put bureaucrats between doctors and their patients. it doesn't replace the fact that this bill doesn't do what it was susupposed to do. costs are still going up.
1:39 am
>> more with governor jindal. thanks for sticking around. after a quick break, we'll talk foreign policy and a little politics on "center seat."
1:40 am
1:41 am
1:42 am
the panel now with louisiana governor bobby jindal in our "center stateeat." governor we want to talk foreign policy now.
1:43 am
richard drier asked this. ask governor jindal what can we do to avoid becoming greece. what's your thought about greece first? >> this is between the people of greece and the eu. yes, they need to cut their governor spending, but they need to do more than that. they need to get back to growth. you look at their pension laws their tax rates, their regulatory structure. we're going to be greece if we're not careful. we have had breaking news from greece and puerto rico. we're going to be on the same path with president obama and hillary clinton in this country. we have no plan to pay off the debt or balance the budget. >> it is at 19 trillion. how do you get to zero? >> you have to shrink the government. that means reforming our entitlement programs. i was the executive director of the bipartisan commission that came up with this idea of how to help beneficiaries and
1:44 am
taxpayers. the federal government is doing things it shouldn't be doing. they spend billions of dollars on teacher quality programs that don't prove teacher quality. medicaid there's a lot of ways. go to global grants where the states have more accountability, more flexibility. you can save a lot of money there. there was an oregon study for two years. no improvement in physical health outcomes despite all the money they spent. they're trying to regulate o2 in people's backyards. talk about federal overreach. that's the kind of reductions we need in d.c. >> charles? >> there's a big debate on the strategy of going after isis. the current strategy of the administration is to go through the government in baghdad to increase the weaponry to embed our advisers. the other argument is the baghdad government is hopeless
1:45 am
that we should ignore baghdad and begin to arm directly the kurds, some of the sunnis tribes, and the syrian kurds as well. you're the president. you've got to decide on day one. are you going to make a radical change for the isis policy? >> yes. this president has made a political deadline to get out of iraq. as a result we lost a lot of influence over the central government. the kurds in both iraq and syria have been the most effective forces taking on isis and protecting christians and other religious minorities. we should be arming and training them directly. secondly we have sunnis allies in the region, not just the tribes other countries willing to help us if they are convinced we are committed to ricketvictory.
1:46 am
third, i would never send an authorization of military force to congress that tells our enemies what we wouldn't do. i would be willing to name the enemy. he won't say we're at war with radical islamic terrorism. and to say the islamic leaders they should condemn these violence individuals by name. if he negotiated a status of forces agreement differently, if he negotiated one, he had the opportunity. because of the space created by the surge, we could have been in a different place given where we are today. absolutely we should be working with the kurds. >> george? >> if kerry brings back an iran agreement in which, a, all the sanctions come off as soon as the agreement is ratified and signed and b -- what should republicans do? >> they should absolutely reject it. this administration is trying to have it both ways.
1:47 am
they're trying to say it's not a treaty. we don't need full approval yet it is going to be binding. that's nonsense. congress made a huge mistake giving away some of their oversight authority. not only do they need anytime, anywhere inspections. they're not giving up their plutonium pathway, not giving up many of the other things that should be part of a good deal, much less saying they're going to cut off support for international terrorism. republicans should tout this administration a bad deal is worse than no deal. we're going to take military options off the table. i think the next commander and chief needs to make clear, the iranian regime, we will not allow them to become a nuclear power. this could start a nuclear arms race in the middle east. the sunnis countries, egypt,
1:48 am
saudi arabia they're not going to say we're going to become a nuclear power. they buy these resources from the pakistanians. republicans need to stand up and stop them. >> one more panel. we'll start with mara

1:50 am
1:51 am
and we're back with our panel and republican presidential candidate louisiana governor bobby jindal. before we get to marah, i want to put up this latest fox news poll that has you tied for 11th in the g.o.p. preference. as you know the top 10 are invited an average of polls august 6th in cleveland. if you don't make the top 10, were you take part in
1:52 am
the forum early in the day? >> look, we haven't made any decisions about that. i definitely want to talk directly to voters in iowa and new hampshire. i will say this polls don't scare me. if i listen to polls i never would have run for governor, never would have privatized our charity hospital system. never would have done state school choice. big challenges. cut our state budget 26%. top 10 state for private sector job growth. largest income tax cut in our state's history. our country is looking for people to go to washington and change. they don't want to pick the nominee for them they want top decide. >> you haven't decided? >> i'm not even in this race a week yet. we are going to iowa tonight to talk directly to the voters. >> all right marah. >> are there primary states that you feel you have to win in order to vault yourself to the back of the pack to the top? if you were on the ticket what blue states could you turn red. >> i want to win every state. i'm tired of republicans trying to divide up the
1:53 am
electorate or saying this special interest group or that i think our message applies to everybody. after seven years voters are frustrated. their kids have a tougher time joining the middle class. we hard hard for school choice in louisiana. a quality of a child's education shouldn't depend on their zip code. i think that's appealing to families in blue states and red states and purple states. a quarter of our house democrats voted for it 90% of the kids benefiting from one scholarship program in our state minority kids. most of them don't come from republican households. republicans need to fight for 50 states. we need to fight for every vote. we need to have the courage of our convictions. our ideas are better. let's go fight for them. >> over other candidate has a theory about why they can win the general election and appeal to parts of the electorate that republicans haven't been able to. do you think you can do that? >> absolutely. >> and where would you do better than other republicans? >> well, look a couple of things we won two landslide election in louisiana setting records. i'm the only candidate with
1:54 am
defailed plans on healthcare, on energy, on education, on foreign policy. this election will be an election of substance. secondly, i think voters are saying the hour is late. america is a great country. our best days can be ahead of us. in this city, it's democrats and republican hostel you can't repeal obamacare. you can't balance the budget. you can't do term limits and shrink the size of spending. nonsense. >> george? >> hillary clinton is obviously going to try to lift student death. 1.3 trillion-dollar of student debt more than credit card debt, more than auto loan debt. how do you lift it without ratifying default? do you have a plan. >> one, you have to grow the economy. so kids are getting good paying jobs. part of the reason why the student debt is hard to pay off is the obama mall economy. something they snuck they put the right away. now there is a debate should students be able to refinance their debts. if they had a choice where to refinance their loans. banks would compete for their business. in louisiana we have a state
1:55 am
run program called tops. we have a scholarship program that helps students afford their college. i know in d.c. the democrats think the federal government know best. they are trying to promise free community college. why not promise a free car free college. why not stop at community college. we can't afford the government we have got. best way to help students with student debt is good paying jobs. competition within higher education to drive down the cost of higher education. >> all right charles quickly. >> lightning question, how well do have to do in new hampshire and iowa. >> i want to win every state. >> how high do you have to place? >> anytime iowa to win it anything less than first place in every state is going to disappoint me. we are going to get first place never state. that's what we are going for. >> we tried to pin you down. stick around to see which presidential contender is being put to
1:56 am
1:57 am
finally tonight governor jindal and secretary clinton are obviously both declared candidates in the race for the white house. 2016 candidates are going up against each other in the kitchen, too for the title of best chocolate chip cookies, clinton as you see has a signature recipe dots louisiana governor's mansion staff. governor jindal was put to a blind taste test to see if he could tell his cookies from clinton's. >> all right. so i have got -- so one of these is the mansion's and one of these are hillary's. all right. those are very good cookies. i would say these look like
1:58 am
the mansion cookies by the way. all right are both, very, very good. but i'm going to predict these are hillary's cookies. [bell] >> they taste -- like i said these look like the nation cookies, they are a little tough iter. i like them a lot better. [ laughter ] >> you like the one on the left better. >> soft iser, chewier. tough choice. >> cookies. >> first time in my life i went to the left. bipartisan. they everywhere just a better tasting cookie. i had to be honest. >> thanks for being here. >> it is tuesday june 30th. a fox news alert. more than a dozen dead as a chopper crashes right into the middle of a neighborhood. the traum matdramatic images coming in.
1:59 am
>> donald trump getting dumped by nbc. >> my statements on immigration they are going to take a different stance. that's okay. >> how trump is now firing back. >> we are three months away from football season, but yy swats has -- jj watts already recorded the first stats. "fox and friend first starts right now. >> good morning. you are watching "fox and friend first. it is tuesday morning. thank you for shart r statstarting your day with us. >> breaking overnight an indonesian air force yet plunges into a residential neighborhood exploding into a ball of flames. >> at least 20 people are dead. the scene in the country's third largest city is full of chaos today. the flaming plane on the ground surrounded by twisted smashed up cars and beedebris from destroyed

buildings. we know 12 people are on board the plane when it crashed two minutes after takeoff. no word on what exactly went wrong. >> turning now to 2016. chris christie ready to tell americans like it is. the new jersey governor launching his presidential campaign today. rich ed son is live from washington with what we can expect. >> good morning. chris christie known for his brash political style and combative town hall meetings is taking jersey. he's expected to launch his campaign a thet a high school today. he touted his direct style as an asset to his campaign. >> if you are going to run for president of the united states and ask these people for their vote that is the single most trust can thing they can do as a citizen is to give you their support. you better tell them exactly what you are thinking and exactly what you are feeling. wh
