in response to terror strikes over the holiday weekend. the coalition calling it one of the largest deliberate engagements in syria to date. a fourth of july family photo goes horribly wrong when a deck collapsed sending 14 people crashing ten feet to the ground. the group was vacations in a home in income mcwhen the deck gave way. one had to be airlifted to the hospital two others critically injured. police are investigating what caused the collapse. a passenger grabs the wheel and threatens to carry everyone on board. the bus carrying 23 people careened off the the road in san better dino california. one of the passengers got held of the wheel after threatening to kill each and every one. the man ran through the windshield before police caught up with him and arrested him.

nation. this is a perfect example. parents aren't being informed not given choice in the matter. they're getting between parents and children. once this 11-year-old walks into a clinic gets iud and goes home with health complications, a parent has no way of knowing. the law in washington state says the age of consent is 16. why is an 11-year-old asking for birth control? more than likely she's being abused. >> penny brings up points. there are medical concerns of with iuds. if parents don't have a say, this could be a problem medically for girls. >> the language used is you're saying parents don't have a say. if they have an open relationship with their children that they've established already, the child can go to the parent and tell them they're becoming sexually active and the

parent can talk to them at home. the point of clinics at school is when the relationship isn't happening at home the child has a place to go to protect herself sexually. >> i have the statement from the school and state medicaid program. they say if the young person is not choosing abstinence she would be able to have a long acting inserted without parent consent. >> this isn't giving out lollipops. why can't we be on the side of the mom in over her head? think about the inner city mom in baltimore who's slapped her kid against the head for protesting against cops? i want on her team. the mom who loves her child and hasn't been the opportunity to weigh in. they should be bring the mother

and father if there is a father into this process and let them weigh in. something is very wrong when a child is asking for birth control. the next question out of their mouth needs to be why. >> so in this country the average age of girls having sex is 15 years of age. by the time they're 15 years of age. 13% of americans are having sex. by the time they're 19 70 to 90% of children are having sex. so again, i'm a mother. i'm on the side of moms. i absolutely want to be involved in my child's sexual well-being and health. if that relationship isn't established at home and the child doesn't feel comfortable, a girl doesn't feel comfortable going to her parents, she should have access to birth control and reproductive information. >> what if there is not a safe

environment at home to talk about this if this child is going to go out and have sex. where could she go? >> first off, the average age of beginning sexual activity is not 15. it's much later usually. when you've got this small proportion of the population that is engaging you've got to bring parents in. you've got to allow people who love these kids caretakers, to weigh in. look there are bad homes and certainly bad parents. these are overreaching bureaucrats overwhelmingly getting between parent and child. there are certainly community health centers, doctors to get involved in this situation. it's not the school's place. >> now, the final word. >> all i would say is there is 4 million unwanted pregnancies in this country in large part every year. a large part are teenage girls. those teenage girls would not

not all wounds are visible. you never know how somebody will react when placed in a stressful situation like that especially after traveling 13 hours with three hungry exhausted children who just want to eat and go to bed. it was just kind of a tense moment knowing that this was happening and we weren't getting anywhere with them listening to us to get them to check in the ada laws. >> what did they say when you tried to check in with the dog? >> they informed me that they are speaking to the lady at the front desk they called the owner. and after speaking to him, he said that he did not allow a service dog to stay at his hotel. i tried to explain some of the laws to her. the law didn't necessarily matter in this instance. they felt like since he owned his hotel that he had the right to refuse me. >> lori you called police. what happened?

>> officer walker showed up. he was just absolutely incredible. he was compassionate and kind and calm. and completely just diffused everything. he let the hotel know they were in the wrong and that they could face fines if they did this to us. it was just nice to know that he not only knew the law but he really took the time to talk to our family comforted our children and reassured them that everything was okay. it was just so refreshing to be treated so kindly by someone in a strange city after traveling so long and this happening. >> how special is the dog for you and your family? >> she's very special. wherever i go she's allowed to go. i have an 18-month-old son. my dog and my son go everywhere i do. whenever she's not allowed to go somewhere, it tends to upset me. luckily, that's one of the reasons she's here is to keep me calm in these situations so i don't end up getting a little
