offers them all sorts of choice. i think a lot of people would say i draw the line at finding out about genetic abnormalities. as we can see, not only with kim kardashian but with lots of other women, they are drawing the line closer to choosing the sex of the baby. and it's easy to see, i think, how you can get much closer to choosing hair color or trying to manipulate the intelligence or other characteristics that are much more worrisome. >> some would even go farther back and say, hey, are we entitled as a society to perfect baby that is won't have illness? doctor your response? >> well first of all, no one is entitled to a perfect baby. part of being a parent is you take what you get. sometimes you have problems at birth and sometimes you discover them a little bit later. that's just what parenting is b having said that are designer babies a reality? yeah they are. we're talking about a very very small segment of the population. and while more people are relying on invitro fertilization techniques most of these people

just want a healthy baby. they don't care if it's a boy or a girl. it's not like this is new. for decades, women who have needed sperm in order to get pregnant have gotten to pick some of those characteristics. if you have a choice from donor sperm phd to the convicted felon who didn't make it past eighth grade most men and women will pick the better quality sperm, if you will. >> let me jump in a second. there's a poll on designer babies. whether it would be okay to boost intelligence. 83% say taking medical advances is going too far. and 2% say they don't know. 15% say that's appropriate. there's a general feeling here in the pulse of americans that this might just be going too far when it comes to babies. why is it sexist to choose someone to hire based on their gender but it's okay to choose which implantation wills going to go forward in ivf based on gender sh. >> you have a clak case by

missing on a holiday boating accident will resume in just about an hour. a 14-year-old and his great uncle were killed when the upon toon boat that their family rent rented hit a barge and flipped over on the ohio river. they were out there, watching fourth of july fireworks in louisville kentucky. another family member his girlfriend and 10-year-old daughter are missing this morning. they are now feared dead. high water levels and fast-moving current in that ohio river complicating the search efforts. caught on camera man accused of carrying an illegal knife is seen punching a new york city police officer who is trying to arrest him. but now that suspect's lawyer says that his client should never have been stopped in the first place. he is even accusing cops of creating a false story. earlier on fox and friends, executive director of black fear kevin jackson, explained why this is so troubling. listen. >> he asked this man multiple
