8:41 pm
these illegal criminals while handing them over to ice. about $40 million pull that away. and then we can start looking to other things, too. that's one with of the few things that we can do here. we can create law but we can withhold funding. let's start withholding federal funding and hopefully you will see these cities start to realize that they need that federal transportation funding. that they need that federal education funding. so that's one of the things we can do here. >> look, you know the american people don't have any confidence in congress. it's the lowest number it's ever had. what are the odds of you getting a bill like that through? >> i think they are actually pretty high. with the republican senate we can put this on the president's desk. the big question is whether l. he sign it? >> we will worry about that. >> what you are doing. >> you guys do your job. >> if the american people are interested in this and they know about it, that's going to help us do our job. >> sure. and they will know about it. you guys have to do your job. you have to get that bill, you have to reconcile it

8:43 pm
the table. grant wasn't moving quickly enough for him so he pulled out a gun and shot him in the face. stepped over his dead body to steal another couple of packs of cigarettes. so this bill would require that if the local jurisdiction let's him out that ice has to taken him back into custody and no longer than 90 days that they are deported back to his country. >> the deportation isn't working. all right? you deport them and they come right back. >> that's why we have got kate's law. >> put them in jail. put them in prison. that alone will discourage some of these criminals from coming back. because, if you pick them up. >> first of all, you have got to deport them, bill. and then if they do come back. >> that's right. >> kate's law would kick in and they do a five year minimum. and then what duncan is doing. what i'm actually working with him as well on is to penalize the sanctuary cities. there is not going to be one solution. and we have to craft this language so tight --
