veteran amputee to tee it up on the tour. the iraq war veteran missed the cut, but is still inspiring others. he joins us now with the incredible story. chad pfeifer, good morning, corporal pfeifer. thanks for being with us. >> good morning. thanks for having me. >> let's start from the beginning. tell us about your service and how you decided to use golf as rehab from your injury. >> i joined the united states army in 2005. was deployeded in 2006 and then april of 2007, like you said, our truck was hit with an iud, which results in the loss of my leflt leg above the knee. while i was going through therapy at brooke army medical center i was introduced to the game of golf. i fell in love with it. it wasn't a sport i played growing up. i played baseball and football and basketball growing up. so i was an athlete and competitor.

but golf gave me that sense of competition back. as i started eded to get better and better, it was something i used for therapy. i noticed some of the things ufs doing, i was in some headlines. and my story was reaching out to a lot of veterans. they came and thanked me for what i was doing. and i saw that it was inspiring other people. >> it's really inspiring to watch some of your shots, and how you've been able to do it. what were the challenges as somebody with an amputated leg, with a prosthetic golf has a lot of lower body balance. how did you adapt to that and your game to be able to have a shot at the pros? >> yeah it took me a while to get used to the prosthetic and trust it. so i missed my left leg. and i'm right-handed. that's my front side. i have to transmerfer my weight to
