forced to her knees and held at knifepoint at an isis-inspired attack. this man screaming allah is great grabbed her and put a knife to her throat. he was kicked to the ground dropping the knife. he took off but was quickly arrested. the terrified girl was uninjured in the attack. she said she couldn't see his knife but felt the blade against her neck. witnesses describe the horrifying moment. saying it looked like an isis execution video. >> the brazilian mad man has been charged with attempted murder and resisting arrest. at this hour no direct isis connection has been confirmed. rome has been on high alert since isis promised to attack earlier this year.

washington. five people were injured in that blast. two were taken to the hospital. nearby residents have been evacuated due to possible hazardous materials. we'll follow that story throughout the morning this morning, a manhunt is under way in st. louis still after a gunman ambushes and tries to assassinate a police officer. we first brought you that story yesterday. the sergeant was sitting in his car, working a second job, a security job overnight, when four people pulled up to him. a gunman jumped out and opened fire. the officer was shot in the torso. a bullet prove vest -- proof vest likely saved his life. the car was found and police are questioning three people. and brand-new images emerging of drug king joaquin el chapo guzman escaping.

francisco specifically because that was a sanctuary city murdered kate steinle, two weeks ago today. there have been some hard questions since then posed by the steinle family pictured there about the murder particularly focusing on the fact that he specifically said he went to san francisco because it was a sanctuary city. well you know what? we've been applying at fox news to san francisco to get some answers. we sent a producer out and this is what they came back with yesterday. >> you feel like the national media has come down a little too hard on sanctuary cities? >> i think the issue is gun control. >> a few words is representative of the city. >> we tried to contact your office and we got no response.

come home to a better network. the pentagon one step closer to allowing transgender individuals to serve openly in the u.s. military. this announcement came this week from secretary of defense ash carter. he ordered a six-month study before taking the current ban off the books. here to debate this issue, carl sigby and anthony woods. anthony, i'll start with you, you say this is long overdue. why do you say that? >> any time you have a military policy that encourages people to lie about who they are, that's a distraction. we want to allow people to be exactly who they are and live up to the honesty and integrity that the military aspires for.

any time you force that that's never helpful for defending our countries. >> you are against this why? >> what's best for your country is a stable military under an already unstable and untrustworthy commander in chief. women in the military can't even get fake breasts, you want to pay for men to get it. that's ridiculous. >> anthony, it's a $30,000 procedure. it's one thing to be loving and accepting and supportive but is it the military's responsibility to cover the costs of these surgeries? >> you know the military is committed to being -- administer making sure that its service members are healthy and capable of doing what they need to do on the battlefield. if a doctor decides it's best for them to have that surgery, that's a decision for them to make. it's good for our country and worth the investment to make

sure we got the best and more capable military ready to meet the mission. >> what about the mind set in battle facing this issue and what about privacy concerns if you are bunking up next to someone who is transgender? >> absolutely. i think it adds an extra level of instability again we don't need in the military. the lines are so fine especially in combat. you talk about how we need stability and things like that. transgender, i believe it's p instability and you want to give these people a firearm over seas and fight. i don't think so. >> any response. >> there's nothing to say there's anything about the health in the military. these are combat-tested, combat-proven individuals. these are people who are current serving well in units all across the military. >> if you are transgender, i don't want to serve alongside

and you even hear the sound of it right there. dashcam footage shows officer william anderson trying to go after a man who is running from a traffic stop when a 17-year-old driver just mows him down. that driver is facing charges of attempted murder. the officer is in stable condition this morning. and hundreds of illegal immigrants now walking free thanks to the federal government. we learned that ice released 200 of them mostly women and children from family detention centers and it's part of those changes being made following complaints from human rights groups. more than 2,000 illegals remain in detention centers in texas and pennsylvania. talk about a real buzz kill the blue angels giving beachgoers in florida an incredible fly-by. you see that stuff flying around
