signal that started him shooting? he's believed to be living or had lived in hicksdon tennessee. moments ago we showed all kind of pictures of the fbi looking at that home. and at that car. that's it from me. and now, let's continue our coverage with shepard smith. >> thanks. the five will not be seen today as we deal with breaking news and learning about the gunman who officials say opened fire on those two military centers in chattanooga. at least four marines are dead and the gunman is too. in the last hour law enforcement source confirmed to fox news the shooter's name is muhammad youssef abdulazeez. reports suggest the gunman was not on the fbi's radar at all before the shootings today. a u.s. official reports to the associated press the man was 24 years old and that he's believed that he was born in kuwait but it is not clear whether he was a u.s. citizen. the official told the associated press the man was from hixon,

tennessee. considered a suburb of chattanooga. there were two shooting scenes. the first one about ten minutes to 11:00 there eastern time at the recruiting center where five military branches have offices. the shooter pulled up in a vehicle, stopped and opened fire. one woman said he was pulling up to a salon or she was and she saw the gunman. told a friend to go back inside. >> initially, i saw her coming to the door and i was telling her to go back and so -- and i just pulled off trying not to -- i know he had saw me and i didn't want to be hit and pulled off and then i tried to go around back where i saw some people escaping from the back of the building to see if you know she would be coming out through the back. >> what was the scene like? >> it was -- it was a regular day. i mean he just pulled up and i didn't think anything of it. he had the drop top and looked to the side and then lifted up

the arms with a big, black gun and just it was one shot and then it was just endless shots. one after another. just unloading. >> well you can see the bullet holes in the glass there. a defense official tells fox news those inside the recruiting station escaped out the back but a marine was hurt in the leg. he's since been taken to the hospital and has left the hospital discharged on his own and said to be and i quote fine. officials say the shooter then drove off about 7 miles away they say he opened fire at a naval reserve center and officials say the four marines shot and killed. this is aerial footage that shows actually one of the bodies here we have blurred it so as not to be disrespectful and also not clear whose body that is exactly. we are also seeing images of the suspect's vehicle. stuart was showing you in the last hour. the silver one there with the black rag top, homeland security reports it's enhancing security at some federal facilities out

of an abundance of caution. we have -- i want to tell you one other thing we have just gotten word now. this is coming from u.s. officials through the reuters news agency and i'll read it as scripted. u.s. officials say agencies investigating whether the chattanooga gunman was inspired by the islamic state or a similar group. again, that's just in. through thompson reuters from a u.s. official who say they're investigating whether the chattanooga gunman inspired by isis or a similar group and i.d.ed as muhammad youssef abdulazeez. team fox coverage now. john roberts on scene in chattanooga. john? >> reporter: they have taken down the roadblocks. right behind me is the naval operation support center. so-called nasc. they're ensuring that no one get

gets in. a chattanooga police officer turning away anybody because the building is at the head end of the river park here over the tennessee river. we are told that there was a lot of police activity on colonial circle which is in hixon, tennessee, across the tennessee river and as the crow flies about five miles that way. so if that dine ed was the alleged shooter's home it's possible he left the home maybe a little after 10:00 this morning and drove down highway 153 across the tnennesseetennessee, hit the first facility and then drove up to get to the naval operations support center. we don't know exactly what took place inside because officials have not given us details but the aerial pictures begin to paint a picture. you see the suspect's car there, a rag top mustang with the top down. in the parking lot of that naval operations support center. the road to the park runs by it. he obviously went inside the
2:05 pm
parking lot and looks like that's where he opened fire. did he get inside the building? authorities aren't saying. it's believed he stayed outside. bill killian, the u.s. attorney for the eastern district of tennessee said while they're not ruling out a criminal act, they're pursuing it it as an act of domestic terrorism and not ruling out he was potentially influenced by isis or another group because killian said a little more than an hour ago that they are not ruling out anything here a possible nexus to international terrorism or isis. they're investigating all leads. the fbi will have dozens of agents if not hundreds of agents on the ground in the chattanooga area pulling on every piece of string they can find unraifling the mystery of why he shot four marines dead and injured a police officer earlier today. >> stay right there. pictures of what we believe the suspect's home. chopper pictures.
2:06 pm
what happened at this moment a short time ago. this we're told is where we're led to believe that the suspect either owned this house or he was staying in this house. or whatever. but this is his home. and from the associated press, as of 4:40 p.m. this afternoon, so about 25 minutes ago, an associated press reporter saw officers with weapons drawn at the house and two females were led away in handcuffs. it is not clear who those female females were. do we know anything more about this house, john? or is that the extent of it for now? >> reporter: we know that according to officials he did live in hickson across the tennessee river a few short miles away from the scene of carnage here. you can imagine that law enforcement would go immediately to the house to try to find out whatever information they could, witnesses, people in the home. they would seize any computers, any other electronic devices that might have had a connection to any groups overseas or even
2:07 pm
within this country. trying to piece together the little bits of this puzzle. the fbi had said that previously abdulazeez unknown to them. part of figuring this out is figuring out did they miss something? was there a trigger that came in from outside of chattanooga, tennessee. there was a tweet that went out several minutes before this act of carnage took place and whether he was a lone wolf or acting in coordination orca cahoots with someone here or somewhere else. >> our intelligence correspondent in washington katherine, are they connected? can we connect them yet or not? >> reporter: i don't think we can make a direct connection. but i know from my experience is they're doing a forensic scrub of the electronics, the phone, the computer his network of
2:08 pm
contacts through social media. and there is no doubt that the fbi is looking at a series of tweets that have now been posted online by what appears to be an isis linked account. and what caught my attention and would catch any investigator's attention is the timing. it has a time stamp of 10:34 approximately 11 minutes before the shooting took place. and #at chattanooga and other derogative comments of america. we need to start thinking about the shooting in garland, texas. and one of the most important elements of that shooting was a series of tweets which came in from overseas that seemed to suggest some fore knowledge and certainly contact with two individuals who were shot in that particular case.
2:09 pm
this situation in chattanooga is really shaping up to look on the same level as what we saw in garland, texas. based on these tweets. that is what an investigator is going to try and find out. and just as a point to wrap this up we had a statement that was issued. i have it right here. from the secretary of homeland security. number one, based on my experience covering this beat for 14 years, we saw events move very quickly today. the fbi took the lead. hundreds of agents are going to be on the ground. and now we have a statement from the secretary of homeland security saying they're ramping ity at federal facilities. not federal government federal facilities. that is code for military facilities in this particular case. so a quick chain of events. now coming off this evidence that they have identified the suspect and then also the social media profile.
2:10 pm
so you've got a lot of led a lot of threads. and as we heard at that news conference they are operating off that starting point of domestic terrorism rather than a criminal case. and often as you know, shepard, it's the reverse. criminal and then to terrorism. >> not today. given what we have learned so far, it kind of makes sense. i can go back to the lengthy report in "the new york times" about how these communications are made and the reporting of "the new york times" -- >> correct. >> a woman mentally challenged but this idea of getting in touch with someone, beginning a conversation process and then going to something encrypted and then some point there's a trigger. >> reporter: right. i know our viewers following this for a few weeks but really we had the alarm sounded by the fbi director in the lead-up to the july fourth weekend which as you know was a heightened threat period and spoke at length about the frustration for the fbi because isis -- i'm not saying
2:11 pm
this is isis in this particular case, but this was the example the fbi director gave isis making contact with american citizens many of them under the age of 25. this is what the suspect fits that profile in this case. and once they made that contact, they were redirecting them to encrypted communications which effectively left fbi agents sort of blind and deaf to the activities of the isis operative and the american citizen. i'm not saying that happened here. but it's certainly significant as you point out that at the news conference we were told point-blank there was no evidence or at least no intelligence indicating an attack was in the works. >> we have not been able to identify anything that we know that's his on social right? >> not yet. i've got an excellent contact who i have worked with for years and we're working together on this right now. it's -- it's not a usual name
2:12 pm
though on the face it appears to be his name. and not a convert's name. but if i could just make one final point because i want to draw people's attention to some of the details, when you look at the glass at the recruitment center it's important to pay attention to the fact that the bullet holes seem to be quite clustered. do you see that? it's not just kind of a spray. and that suggests to me that this individual had some familiarity and comfort with the weapon involved. and that would take investigators down the path to questioning whether he had some kind of prior training or experience with a weapon but it's that kind of detail that's going to drive this investigation and just to bottom line it for people it is so unusual to see in the matter of really not even seven hours for the fbi to take total command of an investigation to have hundreds of agents on the
2:13 pm
ground to have a strong statement from the secretary of homeland security the security is increased at federal facilities. and for the president to be briefed. this has all the hallmarks of a significant terrorist attack inside the united states that specifically targeted the u.s. military. and that's been the clarion call from isis over the ramadan period which ends friday of this week shepard. >> we have something more we'll get right back to you. thank you. i've just gotten this the security enhancements we knew this but they're wanting us to be very specific about this. i'm going to ahead and do it. the federal law enforcement sources are telling fox news that the department of homeland security secretary johnson's move to step up security at certain u.s. federal facilities is not in response to any credible threat that authorities -- in other words authorities have not gotten word
2:14 pm
in one way or another more facilities are targeted. they have not gotten that and being specific to tell us we've received no sort of threat. what they're saying is somebody clearly hit two targets today, two soft military tar gets and now going to out of abundance of caution, add security to other targets of its kind across the country. not because they got word something else is going to happen but to give them extra security just in case. let's bring in retired fbi special agent and on the line with us. jeff thank you. >> sure. >> thoughts on this? >> shepard? >> yes. you're on. >> yeah. i'm on here. >> yes. your thoughts on what happened today? >> well, my thoughts are this. you can call this anything you want. terrorism, really it is really just defined as it's the motivation behind it. so the use of violence and intimidation in pursuit of a political gain. so really what we call
2:15 pm
terrorism and doesn't make a difference. >> doesn't make a difference to me. i'm most interested in how you figure out who this guy was, what his motivation was and whether there were others of like mind around him, in his inner circle who might try to do something similar. >> that's the exact point. the fbi doesn't care you label this right now, terrorism or not terrorism. what's political motivation or not. are they care about are there other people to do the same thing at other places and how big is that threat? did he go off on his own and decide to do that or get orders from a tweet encrypted or not that said go do this? that's a more serious situation and involves threats against other facilities and what the fbi wants to determine. that's not important to label it right now. >> interesting to me they have told us he was not on any watch list of any kind and for weeks and months they have been telling us what we're worried about is a sort of lone wolf.
2:16 pm
someone who may never have given an indication he or she wanting to cause harm and it sounds like at least in the early reporting they're investigating whether that was exactly this. >> yeah. that's the person most dangerous. after 9/11 the directors have said that's one of the biggest concerns is lone wolf under the radar screen and doesn't communicate with anybody. we don't have a way to find out what they're doing and then they plan these type of acts and literally can happen anywhere in the country any place and any facility and no way for the fbi to figure that out beforehand and no communication taking place. one guy doing one act. >> there's reporting of the fbi taking the lead in this investigation and sending literally hundreds of people there. those are big numbers. >> you don't see hundreds of people being sent unless you have a big investigation. you know? oklahoma city bombing, hundreds of people sent. of course other major cases.
2:17 pm
not to minimize this tragedy, definitely it is one, but a hundred sounds like a lot to me and also indicate there's a lot of leads in the case possible tentacles to check the out for a threat and the fbi has the ability to they have the resources to send agents as a moment's notice. you drop the cyber crime. you head there to tennessee and you investigate the heck out of a case until there's no more to investigate and then go back to the normal work. that's what the fbi does and the resources are used like this. >> thanks very much. i want to bring viewers up to date. the president, we're now told is in a meeting with the fbi director and we are led to believe that this is the topic. and we are not led to believe -- not led to know whether the president will offer a comment or statement afterwards but we're monitoring it. again, the president in with the fbi director right now. further, from the chattanooga
2:18 pm
times free press, the newspaper that has owned this story from the very beginning, we received this just a moment ago. a woman who attended red bank high school a local high school there in the area with abdulazeez and he went to high school in the area. and this woman attended school with him. she said he was a quiet kid and well liked. i'm quoting now. he was a friendly funny -- he was friendly funny kind. said kagan wagner to the newspaper. quoting i never would have thought it would -- it would be him. that's a quote. i never would have thought it would have been him. she added that the family seemed normal. quoting again, they were your average chattanooga family. unquote. that of this man now identified by authorities to us as muhammad youssef abdulazeez born in kuwait in 1990. clearly, a high school student in chattanooga.
2:19 pm
and now dead. not far from this incredible and horrific shooting scene where four united states military personnel have been killed. where authorities now tell us they're investigating whether this shooter, this shooter identified as muhammad youssef abdulazeez inspired isis and whether it was an attack a terrorist attack on the homeland and trying to find out who the man had contacts with and whether he was involved with those of like mind and whether there might be other threats out there and further tell us they have no reason to believe there's no indication that any other federal facilities for reason for undue concern. that said they have increased security at federal facilities out of an abundance of caution. there's breaking news coming and that has to do with the trial of james holmes. the man who is accused of shooting up a midnight showing of "the dark knight rises" july 20th of 2012.
2:20 pm
2:24 pm
chattanooga, tennessee. a look on the map here. these are the locations of the shootings. on the right-hand side of your screen is the first location. the armed forces services career center which is right off lee highway which is near the location of april. she joins us now. she was -- >> hi. >> april, it's my understanding you heard some gunshots. tell us what you heard. >> so, i was at school. you know my station is right by the window. i attend alternative hair academy. i was doing my mom's hair. she turned and looked outside and said -- kind of ducking down like behind the cars and like as soon as i turned he was ducking down and we heard the gunshots immediately. >> how would you describe him, april? >> how would i describe what? >> you said you saw him, right? >> i saw just a regular person.
2:25 pm
he was outside and i guess he saw the man in the convertible. >> yep. >> and yeah. he was on the phone and he was ducking down and right then we heard the gunshots. >> how long did that go on? >> honestly it was very loud and very fast. it sounded like a jackhammer going off next door to us. like it sounded like construction work. >> and only went on for a short time? >> right. and it was -- i found out that there was 30 rounds. all of that happened so quick and crazy to think that many were shot at that time. >> how did you process all of this? thinking how close you were to such a horrific thing? >> well you know, me and mom at first all of us didn't know what was going on. it sounded like construction work like i said. a couple of girls went outside and there were men out there. they were like go back in. that was a shooting. i think everyone felt sick to
2:26 pm
their stomach. it was awful feeling. and we all locked the doors and just kind of went to the back of the room. it was just insane. and put me in shock just to know there was a shooting just that close to me. >> do you have a sense for how long it was before the police sirens started coming? >> i wouldn't say. i mean it was about maybe ten, 15 minutes if that. i don't know. it wasn't very long at all. >> yeah. my understanding is it happened mighty fast. thank you so much and glad you're fine. april grimmett with us from the scene. there's a lot going on right now. i want to update you. we have known for a few minutes now that the president and the fbi director james comey have spoken. now i can report 20 you that the president has made an address. we are going to hear from the president on this matter in just a second. the truth of the matter is the way it went down was this was an unscheduled meeting between the fbi director and the president. they wouldn't tell us initially
2:27 pm
whether the president would offer any remarks afterward but now we know he has. the way things work at the white house is sometimes you get live coverage and sometimes you get tape playback from the white house pool. every week a different network in charge and pools information out to the different networks. this is a taped playback coming shortly. hearing from the president. i suppose it's possible to be hearing from james comey, as well. again, the fbi is the lead agency on this and our reporters have talked to the uniqueness of this. that the feds would take over such a matter so very quickly. chattanooga law enforcement officials and hamilton county as well there, were on scene at the first scene within a minute or two it's our understanding. at the same time, the suspect had been making the drive to the north and west to the second location along the tennessee river at the park there where hee aim at yet another military center and it was there we're told by authorities that the four marines were shot and
2:28 pm
killed. it's stale little murky to us exactly what the transpiring of events was that led to the death of the shooter. but here's what we believe happened. the witnesses on scene have told us that the shooting went on there for many minutes. the witnesses have estimated somewhere between 15 and 20 minutes. so all of this shooting was happening. back and forth. not as rapid fire at the end but certainly the shooting continued and a little while later, a local newspaper reporter heard two shots fired nearby and we believe that that's when the gunman was shot and killed and that's when the danger to chattanooga came to an end. now the investigation and now to hear from the president. let's pause for just a second as fox stations across the nation join us for coverage of the president's address and that will be coming up here on fox news channel and simulcast on local stations now. and good afternoon from fox news in new york. i'm shepard smith on fox news channel and fox stations across
2:29 pm
the country. the president of the united states has spoken and did just moments ago with the fbi director james comey. regarding the shooting that took place today in chattanooga, tennessee. fox news now confirmed the name of the shooter is now listed by authorities as muhammad youssef abdulazeez and believed to have killed hour members of the united states military. excuse me. four marines. and wounded a local police officer plus two other people. the officers said to be in stable condition and will be fine. the details of the injury to the other two people we don't know and they're not life threatening. as for the four marines, the military is not yet releasing the names, hometowns or anything about them. and even if we knew we would not release that information. now we're waiting to hear from the president when's just been briefed by fbi director comey on the ongoing investigation which is now headed by the feds and they've told us that they're
2:30 pm
investigating whether muhammad youssef abdulazeez was inspired by isis or another terrorist organization or muhammad youssef abdulazeez was working on their direction. now let's hear from the president who spoke just minutes ago. >> i just received a briefing from fbi director comey as well as my white house team about the tragic shooting that took place in chattanooga today. we don't know yet all the details. we know that what appears to be a lone gunman carried out these attacks. we have identified a name. and at this point, a full investigation is taking place. the fbi will be in the lead. working closely with local law enforcement. we've also been in contact with the department of defense to make sure that all our defense facilities are properly
2:31 pm
attentive and vigilant as we sort through exactly what happened. and, as details of the investigation proceed, we'll make sure that the fbi as well as local law enforcement are providing the public with all the information that's involved. my main message right now is obviously, the deepest sympathies of the american people to the four marines that have been killed. it is a heartbreaking circumstance for these individuals who have served our country with great valor to be killed in this fashion. and although the families are still in the process of being contacted i want them to know that i speak for the american people in expressing our deepest
2:32 pm
condolences and knowing that they have their full -- they have our full support as they try to overcome the grief that's involved here. i also want to say that there are reports of injuries to chattanooga local law enforcement officials. thankfully as far as we know at this point they have survived the assault. and we want to make sure that they know that we're thinking of them. they're in our thoughts and prayers. you know we take all shootings very seriously. obviously, when you have an attack on a u.s. military facility then we have to make sure that we have all the information necessary to make an assessment in terms of how this attack took place and what further precautions we can take in the future. and as we have more information,
2:33 pm
we'll let the public know. but in the meantime i'd ask all americans to pray for the families who are grief stricken at this point and i want everybody to understand that we will be thorough and prompt in figuring out exactly what happened. all right? thank you very much. >> all right. thank you. >> thank you. >> we will be thorough and prompt. sobering reminder of what has happened today as the president said an attack on united states military facilities and certainly that is exactly what has happened. again, the name of the suspect, the suspect shot and killed we believe by local police, though authorities have not told us that. every indication is the tennessee shooter muhammad youssef abdulazeez born in kuwait 24 years old, wept to high school in the chattanooga
2:34 pm
area. the family was pleasant. no one would have thought. aerial pictures of the home today associated press. two women taken out of the home in handcuffs. no idea the situation with that. we'll have more coverage. for now, i'm shepard smith, fox news new york. we continue on fox news channel across the country and the world. jennifer griffin live at the pentagon. jennifer it's my understanding that this -- that it's my observation that this rapid succession of the feds taking over and this is highly unusual. >> well i think what's interesting, shepard, is we have just confirmed that this man who we now know his name is muhammad youssef abdulazeez born in kuwait in 1990. i think the authorities had an indication very quickly. they knew his identity quickly.
2:35 pm
they did a check. and i think the reason the fbi and atf on the scene so quickly is these were military facilities federal facilities and so they just -- they responded as quickly as the local law enforcement. we can also confirm that it was local law enforcement that shot and killed the shooter at that second location along the tennessee river. the location where those marines were killed. the four marines were killed at the second location. what's also notable is that the police chased the gunman to the second location and what also strikes me is that we have known since the week before several weeks before july fourth the force protection level of u.s. north american bases and bases overseas the north-com commander asked for the security level to go up to bravo. force con alert bravo. we reported on that at the time.
2:36 pm
it meant the facilities on an alert. now, what's interesting is there were no guards at the gate of this military reserve depot, if you will. and the marines clearly unarmed when they were shot and killed. but there was a police chase that proceeded the gunman making it to the second location. so it's just very difficult to watch these images coming out of chattanooga. the defense department the department of homeland security, they have been on high alert really since the week before july fourth. they have seen the kind of chatter, uptick in chatter since several weeks before july fourth and why the military took the unprecedented step of moving force con security status up to bravo. and yet, you can't really guard against these lone wolves. that's what we're hearing from statements put out by the defense secretary, defense secretary ash cart we are a statement describing it as a
2:37 pm
heinous incident. i will say that in terms of the mood here at the pentagon national security types that we have been in contact with for the last few months have been worried that just this type of thing would happen. also notable, shep this young man was born in kuwait in 1990. what was happening in kuwait in 1990? that was the year that the u.s. military went in to cue bait to push saddam hussein. it was a start of the first gulf war. just curious that he was born in kuwait moved to america. went to hsz in tennessee and yet carried thought kind of incident. we are learning more about him as every minute goes by. shep snard. >> we are. here's some things to pick up multiple reporting. for one thing, we know that he went to red bank high school which is in hixon, tennessee. john roberts described it five miles as the crow flies. it sounds like there is a belief
2:38 pm
now after glanlg waiting high school in hixon went to utc, university of tennessee chattanooga. got a degree in engineering. the next part from the local newspaper and said way out in front of reporting here. he was booked far dui in april of 2015 and aside -- so april of this year. aside from that jennifer i can't find any priors on him. any criminal history. do you know anymore? >> reporter: the pentagon is looking into whether he has a military background. right now they have not been able to find a military background. you found at the press conference at chattanooga they didn't believe he had a military service record. but it is curious that he targeted these two military facilities in short order just five miles from his house. i mean they were seven miles away part and five miles from his house, shepard. >> one more thing. again, this is from the times free press in chattanooga.
2:39 pm
they're reporting that police in hixon kicked reporters out of the area. this house according to the reporting of the free press times is owned by youssef abdulazeez and sounds as if this 24-year-old, the suspect who's now dead, may have been living at home. >> reporter: well and i believe that the same times free press has reported that his father was working for the chattanooga public works agency so he was a government worker if you will. >> right. one more thing. whether do you suspect that we'll know something about our fallen heroes today? >> reporter: well i think it's going to be a little bit. it's going the take soim time.
2:40 pm
you have casualty officers who are reaching out to the next of kin. they will go through a very very detailed process. and after the last next of kin is notified then 24 hours later the pentagon will release the names, the marines release the names. not until then. so they go through this process for a reason. in order to try and -- try and prevent any unnecessary surprises to family members who may not know that their next of kin have been killed. >> jennifer grich at the pentagon jennifer thanks so much. update on some of the other victims. we mentioned that a local law enforcement officer and the president mentioned moments ago one of those injured. we one point weren't sure hamilton county or chattanooga. chattanooga city police officer, dennis petigo in stable condition and expected to be just fine. hit in the ankle.
2:41 pm
earlier reporting indicated the family taken to the hospital by a police lieutenant and told that the family is together and that the officer is going to be fine. two other people injured. it's our belief that one of those has been dismissed from erlanger trauma center. you probably have a level 1 trauma center in the big city. the worst of the worst are taken there. usually on level 1 trauma centers, if you get there live they usually keep you alive. and the work of erlanger is noted on this program and do fantastic medical work there. it's our belief that the marines who were killed today never made it there. that the marines were shot and killed on scene. let's bring in fox news middle east and terrorism analyst. i hate to think about it but it seems that the time has come. >> well basically, when i'm looking at the case shep the fact that he was born in kuwait is interesting but it does not put him in a specific -- he
2:42 pm
would have been from any country, could have been born here converted and then radicalized. the fact that he is 24 is even more interesting because that's the age group that would have seen over the past month and years and acted out not just in the united states but canada as you know and britain and australia. there's a third aspect and that government will have to get us information. his indoctrination. where did it happen? can you see more on social media? this will tell us if he's linked to any group. inspired by any group or did it on his own and one word i'm using now. got some validation somebody must have told him what you're going to try to do or do is valid and you need to do it. >> the fbi said not on their radar at all. i guess from all that we have been told in recent months we shouldn't be surprised by that. >> absolutely. that's the best statement of the afternoon. we should not be surprised.
2:43 pm
at the way attacking us and the french and others. who are not on the radar. why? because the organization inspiration of isis. isis telling those willing to attack have been indoctrinated, selecting those who have not been on police list or fbi list. of course, if he would have encountered law enforcement before he would have been on the fbi list. the way to be experiencing and not saying exclusively and most of them most likely won't be on the lists. >> thanks. stay close if we could. we need a quick commercial break. waiting for a number of things in the next few minutes. not the least of which, the verdict has been reached in the trial of james holmes. the alleged movie theater massacre suspect. and the jury deliberated in the day. a verdict reached and read within the next half hour in aurora colorado. 12 victims in that case. 12 people gunned down at that midnight showing now the verdict against this man.
2:44 pm
