lockdown and asked everyone not to go out of their homes. when they lifted the lockdown and said the situation had been secured, i felt the presence of the lord to come down and to pray. >> we appreciate it. god bless both of you guys. god bless chattanooga. >> hello, everyone. it's 5:00 in new york city. this is "the five." yesterday morning four american marines were gunned down in tennessee. today their families and loved ones are devastated. they were gunnery sergeant thomas j. sullivan of massachusetts. staff sergeant david a. wyatt and wells of cobb georgia. here's what we know about the alleged killer mohammad youssuf

abdulazeez. >> it's being treated as a terrorism investigation. >> at this time we have no indication he was inspired by or directed by anyone other than himself. >> here's what former deputy cia director and former new york city mayor say about the attack. >> this is the wave of the future. this is not surprising to me. people have been warning about this for months. the lone wolf has become a pack of wolves. the pack of wolves have a common ideology. it's called muslim extremist terrorism. that organizes them and motivates them and if you don't recognize that ideology and you create political correctness as a barrier, you find it really hard to find them. >> what did he say?

people are ticked off. enough is enough. these stories are coming fast and furious. >> we keep wondering how is this recruitment process performed and how do people become radicalized? i keep going back to the fact that we don't have a countermessage to jihad. with he don't have our own message, our own propaganda and awesomeness. we keep talking about our current leaders that can't bring themselves to conveying that message because they are hung up on the idea that there's a harmfulness to the language of exceptionalism. it's silly to proclaim our work and we just sit back and listen to this radicalization and we have no answers. is it wrong to focus on that swimming pool? the manicured lawn. the nice house that repudiates the notion that terrorism would disappear if they were not poor. there was no link at all to poverty in 9/11.
2:03 pm
this guy had everything at his fingertips to have a great life. >> that's not exactly true. >> maybe the chlorine in the pool could have caused him to go crazy. i don't know there. there are no root causes. >> there was some abuse in the home. these are latest -- >> there are lots of people in abusive homes that don't shoot -- >> i'm just pointing that out as a fact as we continue this story. bottom line, radicalization a lot of it is happening on the internet. we talked to u.s. corporations and cover them every day. where is the integration with u.s. corporations and government to track these terrorists down online where this radicalization is happening? we are not yet in sync with those u.s. corporations.
2:04 pm
i'll name facebook and twitter and social media avenues in which they are using for that propaganda. that's still a huge problem area. >> don't we want them on facebook and twitter bragging about what they're doing to keep an eye on them? >> obviously we have the government right now telling us they don't have the resources to keep an eye on them. we need u.s. corporations to get onboard and help red flag when they do see things. >> his father was on a terror watch list and taken off and who has traveled to jordan and possibly yemen. i think this would be a perfect example of using some of those resources on a would-be jihadist. >> the fbi director said they are using the resources. it's not like people are standing around. he just says there are so many of these people that it's impossible to ask the government to stop every and each one of them. this kid has no -- i think he was stopped for a dui once. that's it. otherwise he has no record. you go back and look at his upbringing i don't know about the chlorine in the pool.
2:05 pm
>> i was being facetious. >> i love it. >> i'm saying they say he was a funny guy, on the wrestling team. a picture of him doing martial arts. >> you can't prevent everything but that's why it's absurd to me that these marines are not able to arm themselves and protect themselves. you're not going to be able to stop everybody. what you can do is let the men and women who are trained to protect us and to protect themselves and trained to use this weaponry to at least if they're faced with a situation like this to fight back. that's what we're taking away. this is a pattern. we know 2008 2010 2011 repeatedly you have these recruitment centers, bases that are being targeted. we're being told in advance these are targets. >> you can go back and find -- >> have they been targets forever? not by islamic extremism. >> the second thing i say to you

song bite sound bite. >> i want to bring up the point. i was at the gym watching cnn and they were talking about it's all about gun control and they shouldn't be armed. i'm thinking to myself they're in a cable news studio which is a harder target than the recruitment offices. the arrogance that these people have to say these softer targets don't need to be harder. while they're doing it in an air conditioned well protected studio called cnn where they have three levels of security that you have to get into. that drives me nuts. >> it happens all the time. you have celebrities walking around with armed security guards and politicians with security guards and they will be videoed for the security guard behind them telling you you shouldn't have a gun. >> let me jump in here. i do not like guns. i think that guns are a source of great deal of misery in our country. >> so are cars. >> stop. >> cars kill more people. you drive one? >> let me just say --

this story is gross. if kids are around tell them to go play with their iphones. a planned parenthood documentary describes how aborted babies could be harvested for spare parts. >> every provider has had patients who want to donate their tissue and they absolutely
2:18 pm
want to accommodate them. they just want to do it in a way that is not perceived as the clinic is selling tissue this clinic is making money off of this. exactly. so then you're just aware of where you butt your graspers. >> the video was edited. think about that. outrage over a video and not the unborn being spliced. plundering a fetus. we're beyond ethics here. once you relegate an unborn child to a group of cells, who is to say what you can use it for. suddenly it's a ghoulish fact. imagine if they were dismembering dolphins for research. the uproar. and there's something truly weird about that woman holding her fork while casually talking about dicing babies.
2:19 pm
i wonder if she made room for dessert. it's exposing priorities of an ambivalent world. the president condemns intolerance of any group in vogue but no word for the unspeakable. they can't sell their stories to us weekly. there are no space for them on campus. so small and quiet you wonder what they did to deserve this and a doctor could prove to everyone they're alive but it's less controversial to ultrasound them for a piece of lung. as we pat ourselves for advances in tolerance, life goes on. for some anyway. planned parenthood apologized for the tone in the video. >> not the activity. just the tone. sorry our person was holding a work eating while talking about
2:20 pm
dismembering baby parts. $530 million of taxpayer money goes into planned parenthood. if this isn't a good indication it's time to stop doing that whether you agree with what they do or not, there are many people on my side that would agree to stop at least using taxpayer money to fund some of this atrocious behavior. >> there's that money angle. there's also the money angle she talked about in the video that a clinic is making money off this and like that's what it was all about. the exchange of a dime a dozen talking about baby body parts. it's just a brutal thing to talk about right now. but that's just it. there was an apology from planned parenthood about the tone taken by this person in the video but not an apology for what they're doing. >> they tried to paint what they're doing as part of medical research. but also their claim that it was heavily edited is actually perhaps true. it was. but you can see the whole video and it doesn't matter because
2:21 pm
you can actually see what they said. >> and that's true. the thing is that tone is the tone that you see represented by many in the pro-abortion movement. there's a callusness. they treat babies like they are parts to a car or your kitchen or whatever it may be. planned parenthood gets a ton of taxpayer money and they have a history. this isn't the first time. live action exposed numerous things where they aren't reporting underage girls getting abortions. they protect sexual predators. there is a great column out that chronicles there's a long history of that. it's interesting you don't see politicians on the left coming out. i don't care where you stand. pro life or pro choice. a woman can sit at the table and talk about baby parts like they're tables or pens. there's a sickness in this country if it doesn't bother you. >> of course it will bother you. the thing is this conversation bothers me because it's so

2:23 pm
that maybe we should stop all of abortions. >> i want to just run this piece from alex wagner if you can load that one up. to get to the reason why this video was heavily doctored or done by paid actors that's irrelevant. it forces people even pro-choicers to go this is pretty icky. can you roll that? >> there's first the shock that people feel when they hear that fetal organs are being extracted and used for research. i guess i don't begrudge anybody that feels sort of distressed at that concept, right. as you learn more about the importance of fetal tissue in medical research this undercover whatever it is in some ways is less insendary. >> why disgusting? disgusting how they got the

2:32 pm
steve is saying is true. he did support single payer and supported a lot of democratic candidates. he's not that strong principled conservative that conserveatives were looking for. do you think everyone knows that? >> i think what donald trump is tapping into is collective angst of voters sick of business as usual. he steps up and says i'll change things and you believe him when you hear hope and change out of president obama and get four more years and eight more years and then you hear hillary clinton basically saying the same rhetoric and then you have the establishment right saying almost the same thing and you don't believe them. you believe donald trump. whether you like him or not, you believe he means business and he'll make changes. i'm just surprised. i'm shocked that there are that many republican pundits on the networks across all of the cable networks trashing donald trump. there's a problem in america. it's not donald trump.

2:35 pm
that being wealthy is not a bad thing in america. i quite frankly think that message needed to get across and he's effective at it. >> who do you think he's stealing attention from. i see ted cruz and scott walker supporters intrigued by donald trump and chris christie supporters who saw that trait in chris christie. he was out there and willing to speak his mind but weren't onboard with christie are jumping on the trump bandwagon. >> i don't think he's stilling it from anyone in particular. he's taking it from the group, which now exceeds the dugger family in number of candidates. this is exactly how you lose an election. you have to find your most persuasive candidate. who is the most persuasive to the most people and unify behind them. something that democrats have done pretty damn good for the last couple of elections. i think it's always been a disadvantage for this party to have so many people and then trump can come in and now you look at rick perry who is trying to stay on that stage. i think the other thing is that
2:36 pm
trump right now is 2016's newt gingrich. he's using the media to help him propel even further along. there's only one thing people hate more than politicians. it's the media. when he hates on the media, everyone goes yes! i wish he wouldn't be so -- i think he shouldn't look at criticism as proof of disloyalty. when he goes after these conservative commentators these are smart people. when he hears criticism, he thinks they are being disloyal. i must crush them on twitter. he doesn't have to. you're bigger than that. >> one thing we can say is the debate stage with donald trump is going to be good. it's going to be good tv. coming up fox's own geraldo rivera got inside the mexican tunnel used by el chapo used during his escape from a maximum
