trump supporters. those are folks in arizona who are very mobilized and mccain need to be worried about those folks in a primary. bill: you had two sunday shows lead with the trump story. does this change the trump campaign right now? >> trump is sucking up all of the oxygen right now. there is something bigger that came out of iowa. iowa. donald trump was asked about this faith. he said i'm a christian but i never asked god for forgiveness for my actions. this is getting a lot of attention in the iowa press. the fact that he doesn't ask god for forgiveness this is

something he will have to deal with in iowa and south carolina. patti ann: we are awaiting an historic and controversial moment. the cuban embassy set to officially reopen in our nation's capital. this following the reopening of the u.s. embassy in havana. two very different scenes playing out in havana and washington on this historic day. >> reporter: state department officials tell us there is no role requirement the u.s. flag should fly over any u.s. embassy anywhere in the world. today in havana there will be no flag, there will be no ceremonies. all of that will wait until later this summer when secretary kerry alights in havana to

i hope we will see it on it merits. bill: why is the u.n. the stirs top on -- the first stop on this potential deal? >> reporter: moment ago the u.n. security council did vote on this resolution and it did vote as it was expected to do 15-0. as you mention the vote here at the united nations has come under a great deal of criticism from many u.s. lawmakers from both side of the aisle. the vote today not very dramatic, largely symbolic. but what it does do is get the clock ticking. the resolution will not take effect for 90 days. the u.s. congress has up to 60 days to vote on this resolution.

some like democrat ben carden says a vote in washington should have taken place first. listen. >> i don't know why they are going to the united nations. they should have gone after the 60-day review. they don't gain anything by going earlier. that's why i join senator corker and ask the president to reconsider. it doesn't take effect until 90 days until after the u.n. acts. there is still a great deal of resistance concerning this agreement. the administration did itself no favors by allowing for a vote at the united nations to take place before this matter came up before the u.s. congress.

a number of lawmakers feel undermined. bill: if they do that and congress goes in the other direction, what happens then. >> reporter: moment ago the security council voted in favor of adopting the deal, now the u.s. congress is going to vote. now that it has been adopted that is essentially irreversible regardless of what the u.s. congress does. if congress rejects the agreement, the united states could then impose its own unilateral sanctions against iran. but from a practical point of view that would see to the unraveling of this agreement. iran's supreme lead he over the weekend denounced the united states and israel. there is a snapback provision. if iran is found in violation the sanctions could be imposed.

patti ann: the more sophisticated we get at detecting this times of chatter the smarter they get about using code and disgiens and scrambling and all the things they are doing. how do we work harder on the intelligence side? >> there is were aspects of it. they can go dark. the new sophisticated apps where they can prevent the government from knowing what they are doing. i wish those companies would cooperate with the government to realize this is life and death and that we can't allow terrorists to have an arena where they can discuss back -- back and forth. and it's important to increase surveillance. somewhat like the nancy pelosi was doing in new york. it has to be done by local police.
