ainsley. we are talking about the heat yet again today. we will be seeing the heat index values in the triple digits. take a look at these maps in wilmington north carolina. further west in vicksburg up into the i 95 corridor the heat index values should make it into the middle to upper 90's today. combination theof not only hot temperatures but you have high humidity that makes it feel a lot hotter out there. we have heat advisories across the south and the coastal areas in the carolinas and also southeastern parts of virginia. watch out. today will be another stoecher out scorcher out there. some will bring marginal risk for severe weather. not a particularly high risk day for severe storms but parts of mid atlantic and northeast aged further west into parts of the high plains and also the central plains and further west flood watches have been lifted out

>> this could have gone badly for a little girl locked in a car on a very hot day in kansas city. thanks to the actions of several caring people including one lady the little girl is alive today. >> it's a lot of hard work she is doing right there. this video showing sara oteza doing what she had to do in order to arrest a toddler from a terrible fate. the store manager was alerted by a teenaged employee that a little girl was locked inside of a sweltering car with all of the windows up. they frantically grabbed whatever they could to break the car door open finally breaking the window to save the 2 little girl who was literally baking in the scorching temperatures. >> she was crying and she was like -- she was drenched in sweat. her shoes were wet. she was so drenched in sweat. i started crying. i was praying like, break the window. she is going to die.
