percent. those two candidates are pulling the exact amount of support that hillary clinton has dropped. >> and the voters she's losing, they are the voters who kept her in the 2008 race against president obama for so many months for many people to drop out. it was these voers. we anyhow she would have a hard time keeping the obama coalition together. it is not transferable i argue to any other candidate, at least not neatly. but this is a whole different set of voters and ab, said, it is a harbinger of things to come and the fact that bernie sanders is such an appealing alternative in this primary, he's a socialist and calls himself a socialist. and he's also been in washington for a thousand years.

and the idea that he is a fresh alternative to hillary clinton, tells you that this thing is far from over, and i would argue that joe biden, man, talk about a wide avenue for joe biden to walk up into and capitalize on this, this is. it we wouldn't have seen this according to the experts a good 6 or 8 months ago, i don't think. a b, the situation doing hillary clinton is the e-mail situation. she's not even faced criticism in her own party about that. >> that's how challenging it is going to it be. look at what it did to her standing. none of her opponents are raising it as an issue. bernie sanders could be a poling to the hunger and thirst. and only hit her up on policy choices. if he hit her up in ethics and

happening. >> you would think it was a tropical storm. but it is a well defined area of low pressure draped across the sunshine state and bringing potential 8- 10 inches on top of the rainfall that they received over the last woke. this is the region we are watching carefully. tampa bay area, close to a foot of rainfall. flood advisory in place for the next 12- 24 hours and we have more rain in the forecast. not the inundating rain, but still to which of a good thing will cause issues, jenna, back to you. >> we'll talk about florida, but another story out west, jon? >> the fire situation, the crews could use the water janice talked about. the state's wild wild's tripling in size.

flames jumped the containment line. and destroyed 20 homes. it is one of 23 wild wild burning in the state that is really a tinderbox after four years of drought. janice we'll get back to you with the wildfires forecast and latest from the scene. claudia cowan joins us from lake port, california. >> reporter: the rocky fire is massive and burning out of control for the sixth. 65000 acre, and roughly burned the area like the city of sacramento. it is only 12 percent contained. flames crossed a critical fire break yesterday afternoon. this is highway 20, a main artery through town that fire crews were using as a containment line.

and the fire raced through the canyon. within minutes it gained a 32 acre foot hold on the north side of the highway and prompted more evacuations. officials expect more today it. >> low humidity and fuel moistures are critical. they are low and the aspect and ignition source and all of them come together like a perfect storm and the fire takes off on you. >> that's what we have here. >> reporter: given the rugged terrain much of the four fight is an air assault. tankers and choppers are dropping flame retardant. and that will buy time for the courthouse on the ground. they have more than 20 other active wildfires in the state.

conditions are dry as they can be. the rocky fire here is the state's number one fire property and threatening the most homes. no one has been injured but 13000 residents are under an evacuation order. >> claudia cowan, frightening to see those walls of flames. >> we'll go back to meteorologist janice dean in the fox weather center. >> i wish i had better news, jon. we had cooler temperatures but wednesday, the temperatures will be on the rise and we have threat for thunderstorms. and the moisture will evaporate and more lightning. temperatures are on the rise and really about the temperatures and the historic drought for california. it is a tinderbox and will

the severe weather with hail and winds hit. a father and daughter were killed and dozens hospitalized and the extent of the injuries remain at this point as does the cause of the collapse. the state fire marshall not commenting on whether charges will be filed. >> the investigation will involve the documentation of the scene, including mapping out the scene and find out where things are located after the collapse and examining the set up of the tent, to determine how it was set up in the cables where they were connected and things of that nature. >> reporter: witnesses describe the chaos. it suddenly went dark and someone screamed get out and another said the tent came crashing down. >> all i remember seeing is

after we stood up. we were down on this end of the tent. it came up and over and at that end, people who were part of the circus yelled run. and in the same motion, i see stakes and stuff coming up out of the ground and the tent is coming up and over. >> reporter: this comes one day after a festival in chicago where one man was killed and dozens were injured when a tent blew off and fell on the crowd. the celebration attracted 500 people when the tent collapsed. both incidents are under investigation. >> the relationship between the u.s. is china is under a new strain as the country asks america to turn over a businessman under

torteured. they want to get information from him to rat out his brother. >> what does this tell you about the state of the chinese government right now? >> reporter: they are thought to be as secure as they were six months ago. they had a major stock market crash and they have had economic problems and the chinese leadership thought he was rolling to be another supreme leader and that may be in question. that's why he's asked for the special favor from america. >> he will be making his first visit to the united states next month. that will be carefully watched. this story is put in the context of the huge hack attack in the office of the u.s. personnel management and a story in the types about how the u.s. officials are trying to figure out how to retaliate. we shouldn't be so public about

>> new accusations that the state department ruled over. this is reutters who claimed that the state department watered down the offensive by important countries like china. peter doocey has more. >> reporter: the report was full of red flags. looking at the way diplomats want to rank every country in the world for their efforts on human trafficking. 17 rankings were wrong and given too much rankings and reutters

report that after the internal battle diplomats only corrected three of them. china, cuba and malaysian are not publicly pressured by the state department as analyst would like in the trafficking or tip report. why not? the reutters report points out malaysia couldn't be part of the transpacific trade agreement if it was a tier three or lowest level human trafficking offender. democratic senator is charging that upgrades from malaysia and cuba are part of the report and part of the countries that failed to merit the upgrade. the state department insists that the report changes the way the u.s. interacts with the other countries not political.

dan is outside of the court. >> reporter: so long the focus is on the shooter james holmes. but today it shifted back to the victims. all of those lives lost and the massive void left behind. jurors are hearing for the relatives of the 12 people murdered. eight moms are scheduled to testify and two dads and a widow and a grandfather and sister. first to tell his story was ex-husband of rebecca wingo. and mother of two girls. he testified about how hard it has been on his daughters. >> particularly for the girls, it's disoriented in every way, emotional, physically, you know, it is one thing to all of the sudden never go back to mommy's house and have mommy there.

>> judge carlos seymore is making sure the impact testimony doesn't get too emotional as to prejudice the jury. but with young victims it is heart breaking. the defense attorney begged the jury not to answer death with more death. >> the law requires that you not be swayed by that emotion and not let the emotion for those families overwhelm your decision-making process and your reasoned moral judgment. >> reporter: the jury will deliberate a final time and must be unman musfor holmes to get the death penalty and anything else will be life in prison without parole. >> a second day of losses for the greek stock market.

expected there will be continual default on bonds as we go forward. there was a default on 58 million because the government can't pay the debt and wants to restructure the debt with the bond holders. there is a respected lawyer who is an expert in common wealth law and he said the puerto rico government is misleading investors, this is what he told me. >> we also have to address the bull in the china shop. as structured today. it is too big for puerto rico to mote it as it was originally structure. we need to restructure but not avoid or weasel out of it and make sure we comply with our obligation and promote puerto rico economic growth. >> that was not john mud.

it is erratic and burning conditions on the fire. >> i read the unprecedented nature of the fire. you know it better than anybody. you have had a career spent profiling the fires. what makes it challenging? >> it is spreading in multiple direction and we have a community of clearlake the west and we are providing structure protection to protect the community and at the same this fire spots over highways and grew additional 3000 acre on the north end of the fire. >> what is the game plan and the conditions, how do you get more containment on the fire. >> we were fortunate last night the humidity came up. and the fire crews put bulldozer and hand line over much of the four that burned yesterday. we'll continue to take targets of opportunity and contain the fire. >> talk about the fire

companying the containment line and it being a highway. you feel like you have a natural containment line. but embers were flying over the heads of firefighters because had was able to jump the highway. how did it do that? >> the vegetation is tinder dry. it is very receptive to a ember landing and many cases. the sparks are going half a mile and start a new fire. >> half a mile away. how does is that? >> it is dangerous. we have to evacuate communities ahead of the projected path of the fire and fire progresses well ahead of where the firefighters are and we were aggressive with the use of our air tankers and helicopters to try to stop the forward spread and the fire crews brought in ground resources.

>> i am thinking of the fire crews on the front line and embers are flying past them. how are your resources and time of firefighters holding up? >> obviously we will not stop until we are done and we are several weeks in the fire siege now. we started back on july 23 22nd. we have had over 500 fires and most are put out as they start. but we have 20 fires burning in the state. we are moving resources and 10000 firefighters from all levels of government, both california and outside of the state commited to fight. >> we heard a couple of respects, i know there are so many fires. we heard lightning is a big source of the fires and also heard arson. can you tell us about the fire causes? >> most of them are under

investigation. yes, a good number of them resulted from a lightning storm that came through over the last week. we anticipate more light nining both this afternoon and greater potential later this week. again, we get multiple starts and at 1.500 lightning strikes and 80 percent of those started fires. it is so dry every spark starts a new fire. >> you spent years fighting fires yourself. how would you characterize the fires at this point in the season. >> i think that is key. the vegetation as dry as it is unprecedented and the fires spreading at the rates they are is unprecedented. >> it will give us all the more reason to pay attention. the teams of firefighters are doing a great job. i know this is their work and passion, but we are thinking of
