and raise your hands if you would not right now pledge to support the republican nominee and also pledge not to run a third party candidacy a question aimed at donald trump. here it is. raise your hand if you won't make that pledge tonight. mr. trump. (booing) >> that was the opening sound of this debate later on "hannity" donald trump explained he would use his leverage. why would he give up that leverage now. especially if he wouldn't n necessarily respect the nominee. chris christie of new jersey and rand paul of kentucky went head to head in what was clearly far and away the most contentious moment when they argued over the fact that rand paul wanted to do away with the bulk col next of meda data.

hillary clinton going to lecture me about paycheck to paycheck. i was raised paycheck to paycheck. >> and boy, did hillary clinton get a lot of attention in last night's debated. in my twitter feed i had a lot of people saying to me what happened to senator ted cruz in texas why is he being treated like wallpaper. when he did get a chance to speak senator cruz exhibited the skills for rhetoric and debating for which he is known. here is senator cruz discussing how he would take the plight to isis. >> what we need is a commander-in-chief who makes clear if you join isis, if you wage jihad on america, then you are signing your death warrant. >> the only nonpolitician on the stage besides donald trump was retired neurosurgeon ben carson who turned in a performance that was engaging and heartfelt.

kasich. marco rubio, it was not his best performance. i think he started off a little includingish in the first -- with the first question. he knows the command of issues he has personality and he wasn't -- he didn't give us the arguments on stage with anybody else. i think that he really respected his colleagues which made him stand out. >> we have a winning moment from him. the winning moment you choose. let's listen. >> this country is facing an economy that has been radically transformed. the largest retailer in the country in the world today amazon doesn't even own a single store. these changes have been disruptive. they have changed people's lives. the jobs that once sustained our middle class they either don't pay enough or they are gone. we need someone who understands that as our nominee. if i am our nominee how is hillary clinton going to lecture me about living paycheck to paycheck?
2:07 am
i was raised living paycheck to paycheck. >> lisa your winning moment with kasich. >> i think marco rubio had an excellent debate. i expected him to have the excellent debate. the reason why i choose john kasich he came into the race three weeks ago. this is someone who had a lot riding on this debate. he barely made 10th place to make it on the stage last night. i think he made the most of those moments. he was able to really call upon his experiences as governor and call upon his experiences in creating jobs in the state of ohio which is a must win state for republicans if we want to win -- if we want to win the general leblgs. i think he really did a good job of turning back to this time as governor, talking about job creation in this state and talking about his elect ability. >> let's listen to one of the moments you think was a winning moments for him. >> my father was a mailman. his father was a coal miner. my mother's mother could barely speak english and their son

>> he said he wouldn't do it. >> there has been a lot of discussion about trump as there would be on social media. what do you think? you thought the loser was trump? >> i do think the loser was trump. trump had an opportunity to highlight his experiences and instead i think he was incredibly divisive. if you are calling for the republican nomination you get out of the way if you lose. he came across as divisive and combative especially to megyn kelly. i don't think that's going to help them with the primary voters if anything it will turn off a lot of people. >> do you think people really went after him, though. he was targeted. they went after him from the get go. >> he asked for it. >> nobody on stage is picking fights with the media the way donald trump is. i don't think anything -- iagre

i wouldn't surprised. i thought he was going to be worse if you can believe that. the reason i choose brand paul he really does understand the issue. he does not perform well. he came off as an arrogant jerk. voters don't like to see that. surprisingly christie didn't see that. he appeared very strong on those issues. >> and i think for donald trump it is not just the combativeness he was unable to explain the previous stance on healthcare or previous stance on pro choice. it is a combination an actor sees between his record and he is incredibly combative. >> it will be interesting to see what the polls say following the debate. >> a lot of fireworks.
