although i have been nice to you. >> some of the moderators had a number of lines that the supporters had to be pleased about. he called politicians stupid and done make any major gaffes. ohio kasich got a hometown welcome. and he's only been in the race three and half weeks. and another candidate getting strong reviews, florida senator rubio showed a strong command of policy and able to wea ve the immigrant. and jeb bush defended his conservativism and had a no hits or runs type of evening. this weekend is the red state convention down in atlanta. jeb for his part will go to new

first question to trump running as an independent if he didn't get the nomination and the way they let pairs of candidates go at it over important issues. it was incredible feat on part of the moderators and in terms of donald trump. i mean, he came off as donald trump. he also put out a lot of fodder for anybody who wants to attack him. and so there was obviously the saying he would run as an independent got republicans upset, but the other thing long rift where he boasted about how his campaign critics to democrats and republicans bought influence. oh, hillary clinton had to come to my wedding because i contributed to the clinton foundation. that didn't reflect well on him. >> that's the kind of thing that people don't like in politics. money buys influence.

discussion. did anyone lose points? >> i will talk about one winner in terms of leaders, it was not a good night for jeb bush. he didn't stand out, he was not charrismatic and it was not a good night for him. one other winner was carli forrinna. she came off as smart, sharp and articulate and i know that she does do that. she's the only woman in the race and yet not much name recognition and had trouble breaking out of the pack. she broke out of the pact and google numbers are showing that people are getting on line and checking her out. and they are searching her. she peaked the intf a lot of people and not to categor otherwise her as a vp candidate. if you want one that is an attack doc. she is good.

and she took after donald trump and hillary clinton in sophisticated ways. >> she went after donald trump and he was not even on the stage in the first debate. >> no, but she got at him and his weak point among the republican base and reports by robert costa that the clintons called him and encouraged him to run and certainly doesn't make his race look good among conservatives. a lot of things about trump a pole to the conservative base. and his response to megyn kelliy, look, i will not apologize for everything i say. this is what people are upset if you say the wrong word or like the wrong person you are supposed to apologize. and that aspect of trump that is well liked and his former dalliance with the clintons is a weakness and why she hit hem there and was sharp. >> he said afterwards, that the

that was one of the spirited exchanges in presidential politics and bodes well for the rest of it and it proves yet again, there is talk about how it is a formidable gop field that anyone could emerge on top. and in the prime time billing, that was evident in the evening. >> who in your mind stands out. >> i think a few people did well and cause people to take a second or first look especially in new hampshire. john kasich, senator rubio of florida did a good job and reminded people why he's in the race and could be an effective spokesperson for the party and provide that generational contrast. donald trump was himself. no surprise in the entire exchange. and jeb bush sitting second and third in polling nationally and state level did well enough, didn't screw up at all.

and didn't do anything memorable either. i think his campaign is fine with that, but it might suggest he will have to come back with more energy next time if he comes on top and not have others creep up on him. >> you you didn't mention rand paul and ted cruz, what do you think? >> well, you know, i think for cruz, especially trump's rise sort of affects his standing. we have seen that. the washington post abc news poll you can see the support for cruz went to trump. and so it is an issue for him and part of the reason why cruz is playing nicer when it comes to question about trump. >> rand paul got out there quickly but in talking to republicans and others who watched the debate, there was a concern that he was petullant and didn't do going to remind

people that he is slightly a libertarian republican at times and again, a lot of the guys are qualified, qualified and holding their own. but having a hard time distinguishing themselves of the others. chris christie and jeb bush and john kasich on stage. what does christie bring that is different than those guys. that is a challenge for the guys that are out farther on the stage. >> the long nightmare for the republican party is that donald trump would take his marbles and mount a third party candidacy and he made it clear that he will leave it open to doing that. is that a real prospect and how concerned are the republicans about that. >> if you are wondering if you will do this? it is hard to do it. you you have to find legal teams

to put you on the ball on the. ask johnson son and ross perot. it cost a lot of money which trump has and require careful work by a team of lawyers and others to put it together. and so if he wants to do that, it will cost him and cost sweat equity as well. it was a gimmicky question. but it laid bare right away, that this is someone who is threatening and blackmailing the republican party. you don't treat me nicely. i will do this. you treat me nicely and i lose, we'll see. and look at polling, if he run as a third party candidate, you would have a clinton beat a bush or rubio or walk wither or somebody else because another wealthy businessman running as the third party candidate, it would be 1992 again.

unnamed suspects are now dead but haven't given up hope looking for the artwork. here's the question now, bill. why? why release the surveillance video now? >> it is 25 years later and we are not too sure whether that video was seen on the 17th, is something that was seen before. when they went to the fuels in the cold case investigation they had uncovered the new video. it is 24 hours exactly to when the crime took place. >> the new prosecutor was put on the case and saw the video and when asked whether the fbi ever saw the video, the prosecutor's office said we are not sure. how significant do you think that the video really is in >> i think it is quite

showed up the night before and he looked at documents and the let him in and never described what that was. the fbi perhaps hadn't seen the video or someone looked at it and didn't pay attention to the cause of the video or who was involved in it and now he didn't say anything about this. it is certainly raising questions about his testimony. he has passed polygraph examination. >> where do you go. and the video quality is not great. he repeated his story and we listened to him on the audio, i am not a investigator and you don't get the feeling that he is particular low-lying about this. how do you you approach this or figure out if there is a connection to be made? >> if anybody by looking by the video can determine who that person may be. people's memory can be clearer
