2:00 pm
it was geoffrey! it was jason. it could've been brenda. hillary clinton mentioned marco rubio again. his big money backer on why he thinks that is. see you then. hello, everyone. i'm kimberly guilfoyle along with dana perino and eric bolling. at thursday night's presidential debate, donald trump refused to rule out a third-party run. >> is there anyone on stage who is unwilling tonight to pledge your support to the eventual nominee of the republican party and pledge to not run an independent campaign against that person? mr. trump.
2:01 pm
[ booing ] to be clear, you're standing on a republican primary debate -- >> i fully understand. >> less than four days later, he may have changed his mind. there are reports today trump is reconsidering taking the pledge if he doesn't win the republican nomination. his campaign is pushing back, but will it happen and will he take that pledge? that's how we begin our discussion. >> didn't we see something a couple of hours ago. actually, now he is still keeping open an idea of a third-party run, so this is clear as mud? i can't keep track. >> a senior adviser said he's considering taking the pledge that he will not go independent should he not get the nomination. >> but when he spoke today, he said he is keeping the option open. >> how do you enforce it? >> so then he loses the nomination and then he just runs
2:02 pm
as an independent. who is going to stop him? >> what have you been hearing? >> what everything else has been hearing. will everyone -- is there anyone who will not vow to not run as a third party, and will you promise to back whomever the candidate is. donald trump is the only one who raises his hand. if we went down the line, would every single person on the stage say if donald trump is the nominee, i'd fully support him because he's coming from my party? >> it was a two-part question. it was a compound question. i don't think so. not necessarily. it depends. would ted cruz? i think so. it depends on the person. >> right. it depends. i don't know. do you? >> that's not the question that was asked. i think the reason that question was asked -- you can win a popularity contest. you could win 90% in the polls
2:03 pm
of popularity, but only 18% of registered republican voters typically go to the polls to vote in a primary, and those two groups are not the same, so you still have to figure out a way. you have to win the votes in iowa or the votes in new hampshire or the tiebreaker in south carolina. i just look at it practically. gop primary voters are not for somebody -- are not going to go for somebody who they think is going to cut and run to a third party. you can still even win as a third party, but you're not going to begin gop pwin gop pri that way. >> he says this is how i cut deals on a daily basis. i use leverage. i'm not going to give up my leverage. i'm going to show -- why would i
2:04 pm
give up my leverage? it makes no sense to me. gains more attention. nobody is talking about rubio or anybody else. in the big picture, if you're talking about ralph nader and the difference he made, he really has a lot of power in this situation right now. even if he was third and fourth and said i'm thinking about going independent, he has a lot of power in this situation. >> is he saying, look, i need a little love from the rnc, which he hasn't really been getting? >> i'm not sure, but i will tell you though it may depend on how much love i'm getting from the rnc. >> he's not getting the love because he's not committed to the republican party. that's why they're not doing it. >> going into a deal like obama did with the iran deal, saying, here it is, no matter what i'm getting a deal. kill me, if you want.
2:05 pm
>> i understand. to your point, the rnc, they do have files. they do have maps. they do provide aid behind the scenes. they should use some of their leverage. unless you commit to us, i can't commit to you. they can come back at him. maybe tomorrow on "fox and friends" he comes on the telephone. that's what i still call it. >> i'm dying to hear how that goes. that's must-see tv. it really is. >> get cable and watch at home. >> absolutely. >> i'm not joking. i want to hear that interview. it's going to be good. >> we have very good relations with donald trump. >> i get you. i get you. >> every monday, dana perino. >> yes. so what do you think the
2:06 pm
democrats are thinking about all of this? >> i think they're loving it. i think they're got the popcorn out and they're watching. donald trump is not good for the other gop candidates, right? does anyone want to make an argument to the contrary? >> he's clearly and anomaly. you know, clearly, donald trump is not the establishment candidate. we know that. >> a lot of people on that stage are not. >> he's not one of us either. who is he? he's carved out a completely different niche of republican. >> here's the good news, eric, and dana, i don't mean to -- >> it's okay. >> his policies are going to start rolling out. i was kind of surprised. i do this thing on sundays because i'm lonely. i watch all the sunday shows.
2:07 pm
mark halprin says he has a lot of professionals on his staff and you should not dismiss him. i was stunned by that. >> i'm going to call that an assist and take the ball and drop it in. take a listen. >> there should be a path to legal status for those who are here. not amnesty, earned legal status which means you pay a fine and do many things over an extended period of time. >> we do need reform. it should happen at the state and local level. if a parent is unhappy with what their child is being taught in school, they can go to their school or governor and get it changed. >> i would send weapons to ukraine. i would work with nato to put forces on the eastern border of poland and the baltic nations,
2:08 pm
and i would put in place back in the missile defense system that we had in poland and the czech republic. >> so we have some specifics that we were able to enjoy and listen to on that evening to be able to do a comparative analysis of the candidates. there are many people who are still wanting some specifics. they like the idea and the tone of, hey, forget about business as usual. we want someone who is going to effectuate new positive outcomes. that's been resounding. but on the flip side, people have said, sir, what are your specifics. his campaign says they'll be releasing some soon. what can we expect? >> you're saying he's had these policies all along? >> no, he's about to release his policies. he talked about the way he'd
2:09 pm
take out isis. >> send ground troops in. >> for decades, he's had policies. >> he doesn't really articulate. i don't think build a wall and circle isis -- >> you don't want to destabilize iraq because that'll turn the power over to iran. he said get tough with iran. he said boots on the ground. we know where he is on immigration. he says build a wall and mexico pay for it. >> that's not a policy. how are you going to make mexico pay for a wall? >> he has specifics outlined he'll have them pay for it through oil that comes from mexico. >> this is like unicorn stuff. this really is like unicorn stuff. i don't actually have anything in particular against him. i think these are not real policies.
2:10 pm
when you say you're going to make another government do something, i don't see how that happens. >> i know what you're saying. if you go to his website, his is probably the most empty. who came out with the most forward-leaning statements was chris christie. we're going to look at social security. we're going to look at medicare. then we're going to look at the nsa. >> he does have specifics. >> according to the nbc snap chat -- snap poll. i apologize. >> snap poll. >> i still haven't figured it out. he's lost three points, so i don't even -- you're not rewarding the most electrifying part of the debate. >> i think right now people are actually -- if this was a dating
2:11 pm
scene, you don't go up and say tell me the five things you're going to do once we're married. would i marry you? >> it's speed dating. >> you're looking for character, temperament, judgment, and you want to know what's your basic governing philosophy. you say you want to bring more jobs into the economy. what's your best guess for that? end trade or do more trade? i'd like more specifics. but mitt romney had four different times multipoint plans came out. wow, he's thought about this so much, but they couldn't keep up because it was too detailed. >> can i be shameless. rand paul, who calls donald trump a fake conservative, i'm
2:12 pm
going to ask him why. should be interesting. >> you're hosting the "o'reilly factor"? >> yeah. >> that i got. >> kimberly, got anything to plug? >> making the case. we've got books. i'll trade you "fox and friends" for "outnumbered." >> i hayou should have greg on five" today. ahead, some candidates say money is pouring into their campaigns following last week's debates. we're going to tell you who. did president obama really mean it when he compared republicans to iran's hard liners?
2:13 pm
give you 37-thousand to replace it. "depreciation" they claim. "how can my car depreciate before it's first oil change?" you ask. maybe the better question is, why do you have that insurance company? with liberty mutual new car replacement, we'll replace the full value of your car. see car insurance in a whole new light. liberty mutual insurance.
2:14 pm
2:15 pm
2:16 pm
more than 30 million people watched the first two debates of 2016 on fox news, and some candidates say they're now seeing a big spike in support. >> i think for many people this is the first time they saw, wow,
2:17 pm
there's another woman running for president and she's actually pretty good. we've seen an uptick in financial support and an uptick in support generally, so it is exciting. >> we have well over 100,000 contributors, so we think we have excited our base. >> about half the people didn't even know who i was. i'm sure they were saying, who is this guy. he actually makes a little bit of sense. twitter had gone kcrazy. >> can they keep capitalizing on their post-debate momentum? >> yes, they can. >> we talked on friday she was likely going to see a big donor bump after the debates. >> and it should. the money should flow in that direction, shouldn't it? she's way up. ben carson did a fantastic job,
2:18 pm
too. people getting to know him. his numbers went up, so you see kind of the tone, the change in the election. i don't think people could have predicted that was going to be the outcome. there was a lot of talk about it, and some smart minds were saying interesting things, but i think this has proved to be a surprise for a lot of people. >> dana, as brian points out, the snap polls show ted cruz doing very well post-debate. >> yeah, he had a good debate. he's got some big donors. he has significant super pac support, but he also has a big following. a lot of it is in texas. he travels a lot. he's really working it. he was in savannah over the weekend. i think his debate performance made sure he's going to stay within the top ten. >> we saw in the pictures that his campaign released he was getting a great reception. he was there traveling with his wife. the takeaway from this is
2:19 pm
anybody with a "c" in their name, we've got carson, cruz, carly -- >> scott walker has drifted lower. why and will that hurt his money? >> i think he's got more than a solid base. i thought his brother nailed it. when jeb was on "cavuto," what did your brother say about your performance? >> there was no doubt about it. he was a little rusty. he's got to be more concise. even though he knows the answers, he has to deliver them in a more crisper fashion. nonstop town halls. start doing more interviews so by the time the middle of september rolls around, you're ready to go.
2:20 pm
>> i notice donald trump said he may be starting to raise money. what do you think of that? >> part of his appeal is he's not relying on special interests. he's not raising money. i think it's fine, but i think that that's right that jeb bush is the tortoise, definitely. most people doing well in the polls are not politicians. carly fee y carly fiorina, carson, trump. >> he's like a first-term senator who has been in washington. he's spent a lot of time in government. he was a very successful attorney general of texas, and then runs as an outsider. he's quite a feet. >> i think bernie sanders is doing the same thing. you can be in the establishment, but be constantly harassing them and criticizing them. >> what about the money?
2:21 pm
nothing better than opm. >> other people's. >> yep. >> hand me the checkbook. i'm going to write donald trump a $200 check. stop drinking. >> you don't ask. you don't ask. you don't even ask for the checkbook. when no one is minding the checkbook, you just tear a couple out, fold them over, that's it. >> i'm mailing donald trump money? he just told me how rich he is. >> marco rubio did really well. he also has a lot of money already. >> remember, he was the first to get into the race, so he's been at it for a while. i think the thing that also helped him is that the consensus at the end of the debate was that he had probably done the best out of everybody, and that kind of word of mouth really helps with your established fundraisers.
2:22 pm
okay, so he's working at it. this is a good return on my investment. maybe i'll give him some more, so we can call him back. >> i wonder why he didn't get a bigger bump in the polls. >> i just think there's too many of them. >> i have a feeling this is not a good composite. >> nbc? >> yes. >> it was online. it was friday night. >> there were a couple other polls that came out that had similar results. nothing national. >> two things about carly fiorina came out. she has two weaknesses. i thought her answers were great. by the time this gets to september and october, those questions are off the books. the same thing with donald trump and the bankrupts. get it off the books in august. you don't have to worry about it
2:23 pm
in november. he should welcome these questions. >> i think the next debate is september 16th. do you think the bankruptcies are off the books? >> definitely not. i don't think his answer was all that convincing. his answer was basically i didn't go bankrupt, but if i did, so what. everybody else goes bankrupt. as a viewer, i didn't feel satisfied. i wouldn't be surprised if they came back to that. next, a top democrat defects from obama on the iranian nuclear deal and the white house warns it could cost him. ahead. literally it was like you're getting 7, 9, 10, 15 leaves that are just popping up all over the place. yeah, it was amazing. just with a little bit of information, you can take leaps and bounds. it's an awesome experience.

2:28 pm
the republican caucus. >> and it wasn't a slip of the tongue. it was planned. >> what i said is absolutely true factually. the reason that mitch mcconnell and the rest of the folks in his caucus who oppose this jumped out and opposed it before they even read it, before it was even posted, is reflective of an ideological commitment not to get a deal done. and in that sense, they do have a lot in common with hard liners who are more satisfied with the status quo. >> chuck schumer says he will vote against the deal. members of his party will vote against him for his top senate post. >> i wouldn't be surprised if there are individual members of the senate democratic caucus
2:29 pm
that will consider the voting record of those who say they would like to leave the caucus. >> kirsten, this is incredible to me. chuck schumer has been one of the most loyal people for all the democrats, hillary clinton, obama. he makes a principled stand on the issue of the iran nuclear deal and they trash him when they don't need him, because they have enough votes to override the veto. >> that's the most important point about it. he is not agitating to have other members move with him. he's not whipping. he's just taking his position, and they already have the votes, but this has become another litmus test for the democrats. i don't think they think it is principled. i think they think he caved to donors or to people -- i don't think that he has a principled
2:30 pm
stand on this. >> i'm medically retired staff sergeant barnett and i was blown up by a bomb. they put bullets in their heads and killed them in front of the villagers. that's who we're making a deal with. every politician who is involved in this will be held accountable. they will have blood on their hands. a vote for this deal means more money for iranian terrorism. what do you think they're going to do when they get more money? >> aipac, the pro-israel group who is -- there are 53 republicans. now you have chuck schumer. maybe mansion. you need 10 to 12 senators to make the jump to override the presidential veto. wow, wouldn't that be huge, but
2:31 pm
it's a tough sell. that hero, that poor gentleman right there, the difference between him and 15 years from now when iran has a nuclear bomb, he won't be there to tell his story. he will be dead. they will incinerate. that's what they want. they want a bomb. they have a path to the bomb. they have a path to the iranians to make the bomb thanks to hillary clinton and her deal with russia. >> it does seem to get worse by the day. i want you to take a look at governor mike huckabee who commented on chuck schumer and get your response. >> okay. >> he needs to be listening to people who have clearly understood what the iranian government has been about for the past 36 years. what chuck schumer did was significant. it was an act of statesmanship. god knows we need more of that
2:32 pm
in washington right now. >> i don't know how partisan the president has been when he has the votes. >> he's creating a bitter feud and exaggerating to the point to where he is losing confidence of some of the supporters. you are seeing groups that have traditionally backed the president, jewish groups, to say, listen, we're not in on this. this is a threat to not only the national security of the united states of america but of israel as well. when you have this kind of growing support against it, it puts the president in a tough position, and now he's amping up his rhetoric in defiance. i do like what huckabee had to say. >> look, the rest of the world is not going along with lifting the sanctions. it's not going to matter because we agreed to leave those people out of talks that put us in that
2:33 pm
position in the first place. 6 inn every 10 americans wants this deal done. the president leaked that out and th. it's unbelievable. >> it backfired. >> to be fair, our allies in this situation, the people who -- the sanctions that really matter, the europeans, for example, they were not going to keep those sanctions forever. the idea that the president made that happen, they were part of that conversation. they only agreed to the sanctions to get to the table. they never said we were going to do the sanctions forever. i think you guys are complaining about the way the president's rhetoric is. i think he has gone too far with this rhetoric comparing republicans to the iranian government. i think the way you guys talk about obama is also unfair.
2:34 pm
i don't like suggesting that he doesn't appreciate that they're going to get a bomb. that's the whole point of this deal. i happen to support it because i think it is better than the status quo, but it's not right to say -- you're talking like, oh, they're going to have the bomb. that's the whole point. that's why he wants the deal. >> it outlines the path to the bomb. >> i don't think that's true. if we have status quo, how does that make it better? >> number one, we saw what the weapons inspectors did in iraq. that was a defeated nation after a war. this nation is not defeated. they are very much in power, and now they're going to have all this other money. number two, i think it is important to show that benjamin netanyahu said something very pertinent. as great as their intelligence is, they still did not knowing they were building these facilities. even with our eyes and ears, we
2:35 pm

age of 84 at his home in connecticut they say of natural causes. he went on to become a regular on monday night football. for 27 ye kathy lee is rejoicing in his life. >> this is not a tragedy. i was holding her hand. she said a 4-year-old girl having cancer is a tragedy. she said frank lived to be almost 85. she said his life is a triumph. >> wow. talk about perspective. here's gifford's former broadcasting partner, al michaels. >> i had the great pleasure and honor of spending the last 12 years with him.

recently a series of videos have exposed some of planned parenthoods disgusting practices. democrats are on the wrong side
2:48 pm
of history on this issue when it comes to these crimes. hillary clinton today spoke out again in planned parenthood's defense. >> i want to add my voice to all those who have expressed outrage and disappointment about the decision last week by the executive council to cut off funding for planned parenthood in new hampshire. it's appalling that three men would deny women across this state the health care they need and deserve. we need more leaders -- >> okay. that's pathetic. i'm sorry. invoking this three men thing, let's just remember who decided roe v. wade. anybody out there who hasn't seen these videos, particularly democrats need to watch these
2:49 pm
videos. there was an article today by a columnist. he basically says, i'm not sure i'm pro-choice anymore after watching these videos. i think a lot of people like to keep their heads in the sand about this. dana, we were talking during the break. what do you think about what hillary is saying? >> i agree with the hillary of two weeks ago who said that all of the organizations or companies that actually do this type of procedure need to be investigated. she was trying to give planned parenthood some cover, but she said -- she was disturbed by it and she wanted it investigated. then when the political pressure got hard, she decided to change her mind. all the polls today in iowa, new hampshire, and the third state showed about a 60% approval for keeping planned parenthood funded by the federal government. i don't know if -- i would go forward with the defunding vote,
2:50 pm
but i wouldn't fall on my sword for it. i don't think it's enough. it doesn't mean that this practice isn't going to continue, and it's the practice that should be -- >> that's why you need an investigation to make sure that a stop is put to this kind of atrocity. i applaud your courage and using your voice and position to be able to come forward. i think you're 100% correct. if people see this and don't keep their head in the sand, they will be appalled by it. i know my own personal positions when i saw that trial and how horrible it was, it would change your mind. >> they talk about in one of these videos delivering intact fetuses. how do you do that? no one has answered that question. how does this baby come out intact? the way they normally do an
2:51 pm
abortion is they inject the fetus or the baby so the heart will stop or as one of the videos tells us, they crush them. they're not doing either. where are these babies being killed? outside the body or inside the body? >> you're talking about the process. dana points out that needs to stop. that's one issue. the other issue is funding planned parenthood not because of the process they're using. because they're profiting on it. the reason why they want an intact baby is because they can sell it for more than a part. a baby split up into parts doesn't get as much as a full baby. that practice alone shows they're not doing the process and selling or donating to science at cost. they're not doing that. what they're trying to do is maximize profit for a fetus, for a baby. >> what planned parenthood has said is, no, no, no, we're just
2:52 pm
getting reimbursed. wouldn't that be a set fee schedule? why do you have to negotiate that? it should have a range. why are they in these videos trying to raise the price? >> nobody in the middle is picking it up and saying absurd the explanation is. i feel like i'm in a parallel universe. they talk about intact babies in video number five. i don't care where you stand on this issue, you have to give credit to the center for medical progress who put these videos together. they're sober enough to pay attention and can quiet down their lives long enough to take a look and make the american people pay attention and take a fresh look on where they stand on roe v. wade. >> this isn't a pro-choice, pro-life issue anyway.
