11 minutes past the hour. people whose homes were damaged in the deadly explosion in china now want the government to pay up. more than 100 people took to treat streets, protested outside a hotel where government news conferences have been happening. this is far from normal there and some people held signs up that read "buy our homes back." officials offered them $300 a month to help find a temporary place to live, but they say than 100 people are now confirmed dead from the blast. dozens more still missing. the explosions happened at a warehouse where hazard your materials where officials were
12:12 pm
supposedly storing frankly too much stuff. one of many possible violations there. as a result china has now buildings across the nation. the security breach at the irs was much bigger than officials first revealed. that's the word now from the tax agency. came today. it reports thieves stole information from more than 300,000 people. more than twice the number of victims the agency told us about back in may. investigators say crooks working out of russia stole personal information to try to claim phony tax refunds. the irs reports it will offer potential victims free credit monitor services because they'rh awesome. americans are waiting longer than ever to buy their first home. that is the information that everybody knew. but confirmed through analysis that the real estate firm zillow. zillow finds that's average first-time buyer rents for six years before buying. in the 1970s, it was two and a half years.
12:13 pm
analysts say a big reason is what you already know. the rent is too damn high as somebody once ran for office. makes it difficult to save for a rent. the average adult pays a third of their income on represent. the highest it's been in recentç history. we have a financial analyst. everyone knows this, how do we fix this? >> millenials are going to be driving this, the first, time debt is $29,300. and pay pal came out with a study and said the average millenials is owed $360 by their friends on average. so if you have that much debt you saw your parents go underwater with all of the equity they have, why run out there and buy a home if you don't havec>t the income to math what it takes for a new down payment on a new home. >> if there's not room for the basement because you rent, and if you're renting, the prices
12:14 pm
have gone up because of the competition. how do you get out of the cycle? >> you have to take more time to save up the in order for the down payment but we're seeing rentals go up now, much to the shag driven of many parents and also the younger kids itch think the idea of the american dream, we're dealing with a new normal. it happened since before the recession, and as we went through the recession, we saw these new millenials say, i don't want to get in that situation. i'm going to rent. and i'm going to save that money, maybe for a trip, not necessarily for a house. the great recession is people who lived anywhere homes and and done everything right, suddenly found themselves in a position where they could not win, and then later all the banks were bailed out and nobody was charged with any crime, and later, enormous companies bought up all the peoples' houses and now representing them back to them -- renting them back to them and someone was there for)ç
12:15 pm
everyone in the losing cycling are except for the little guy who did everything right. something morally unamerican. >> the millenials have a major distrust for banks. rightly so. >> why wouldn't they? >> so, when you're looking at the way you go -- all of us know to go ahead and purchase a home you have to go through bank checks of having certain credit and when you don't have that trust in banks and you're not even putting your money into banks, some ofie these -- 20% of the study doesn't even know their credit score and they don't care to. they're not out there trying to go buy a home. so when you have these regulations of banks impose on these millenial, they don't care. you're going to see a depression when it comes to buying homes. with that said, as these millenials -- which i withed because now a millenat that is at a certain parent of mine's home. they're saving up their money and they're going to buy these homes. so,&9+,x come two or three years
12:16 pm
we'll see the home industry and the housing market rebound the way it should be. >> these big companies that bought them up and are renting them to them, then the want to sell them and then they'll make money, the banks will make money, everyone will do great except the little guy who lost his home and didn't do anything wrong, and there's no candidate talking about huge banking overhaul and changes in the system which let everyday americans down. there's no one talking about that. >> the good news is there are different ways of lending we're starting to see a lot more, and we're goingí!to start seeing tht more and more. we'll see people bank at banks that don't have the overhead and so instead of going to -- just throw it out there -- chase bank you plight go to an online bank to get the mortgage or lending and without the high premiums and interest rates. >> we'll see. thank you. >> nice meeting you. >> wildfires raging out of control in the west, this has been going on for months. in this round they forced hundred's people to leave their homes and emergency officials say the firefighters are facing
