to store her email there. he said i don't even think they had the resources when i worked there. they were based out of a loft. not high security. we didn't even have an alarm. >> terrific. they should be able to recover some of the data on there. she should be able to see how many users could access it. they would also be able to tell when it was wiped clean. the conventional wisdom is she probably wiped it clean in fall of last year. however, if she wiped it clean after trey gowdy subpoenaed that stuff, her goose is cooked. >> a federal judge will look into it tomorrow. they need the records for her chief assistant and keep in mind too she also told telemundo yesterday this entire thing wilbourn itself out.

i doubt that. we're going to say good morning from ainsley earhardt she's back from iowa. she has the headlines. >> some people are in trouble. listen to this story, the hackers who stole private data from the cheating website ashley madison just followed through on their threat. emails, names, credit card transactions, and much more reportedly leaked on to the so-called dark web, exposing some of the 40 million people who use this site with the tag line life is short, have an affair. ashley madison saying it's now investigating. the hackers are demanding the site be taken down. brand-new overnight, a hotel blown to smithereens in a gas explosion, it is is washington state. the blast just happened 30 minutes after someone reported smelling gas.

hours after her 17-year-old daughter who was missing has been returned home. chelsea and her service dog were last seen at home in new york on august 11th. the teenager has a mental illness we're told and not taking her medication. yesterday, rosie asked the public for help tweeting this. chelsea and her dog last seen in nyack new york may be in new york city. police located her by pinging her cell phone. police are looking into if chelsea may have been going to see her birth mother in wisconsin. chelsea's birth mother told the national inquirer that rosie stole her daughter when she was in drugs and didn't know.

they doing. >> yeah, it was a surprise inspection by the office of the inspector general at the va. they popped into this facility and found out what was going on. what they found were nine letters, eight of which unopened, these were letters by veterans making adjustments. eight of the nine would have affected the nature of the claims. the disability benefits that veterans have earned, rather than opening it and looking inside, these letters were put in a bin headed for the shredder intentionally. there's gross -- not just gross negligence but criminality i believe and this is a snap surprise inspection. imagine where things like this could have been happening across the country. >> because some of these incentives are so backwards, even if their intent is pure to get rid of the backlog, you are supposed to do it by addressing the case instead of shredding that shows me a lack of leadership and organization. >> it's a toxic culture.

it's a digs functional burr rock accuracy. i think there's some information on the screen right now with an update, there's still is 100,000 veterans pending in the backlog. they brought that down. in the process, the appeals backlog has skyrocketed to over 300,000 that's three to four years in the appeals process. rather than address the problem and final these claims, they push them to the appeal process, it's off the list, but it's never actually fixed. veterans waiting even longer. it's getting worse, not better because the bureaucracy just shoveling paper. >> what's being done about this? >> he's got a great management background. he's been captured by the

bureaucracy, he's criticizing groups like ours that are trying to fix this system and reform it. he had an opportunity to get in there and rip the scab off and say let's fix this problem. he has not and as a result the culture hasn't changed. care isn't happening as fast as it should. accountability hasn't been delivered and things haven't changed. >> it was a few years ago when the inspector general recommended a host of new controls to stop this, bob mcdonald was supposed to team with the inspector general. what can you tell me about that relationship? >> it's not what it should be. in fact, there's a lot of things the inspector general has been finding that they want to expose and pride that they haven't been able to. there's still a tennious relationship between groups that hold them accountable, whistle blowers. all the things brought to light about the va is by whistle
