in, somebody came up to me on the shore, like at the bottom of the pier and told me somebody was drowning and to pull the life preserver. so i kind of look at him and half kiddingly, no way, dude. no, really. at that point i pulled the life preserver, jumped down into the water, got to the shore as quick as i could and started running down the shore, man, just as fast as possible. i knew time was of the essence at that point. >> rip currents are very dangerous. we're often told to run the other way from them. you ran into them. why are they so dangerous? >> they will get them and when you struggle against them, they will tire you faster than you know what to do so all of a sudden you are just beat and you have no means of doing anything, especially, you know, without any swimming gear on, essentially. >> the drowning risk according

to the national weather service is at higher level when the waves are three to five feet, and that day they were at six feet. so with the waves that high, the rip currents going on, and then the two scenarios that unfolded that day, what was the reaction on that beach afterwards? did anybody go back into the water? >> they did. and i thought it was crazy. obviously, there are the surfers out, you know, but there were some other people out in the water. i was like, come on, why are we risking this? we just went through all of this, you know, and it's really not worthwhile to put yourself at risk like that. >> what did these girls say to you after? >> they were -- the one was -- you know, they have just been really like thankful, i guess, and you know, that's all you can ask for, really. it's been a really cool experience. it's not every day that you save somebody. >> what happened if you weren't there?

>> i would have like to have think she would have been okay, but i'm not 100% that it would have turn to the the way it did. the coast guard was just getting out into the channel by the time we got her in, and according to what they said at the hospital, had she been there for like two more minutes, she would have been, you know, done. >> have you talk to her since? >> well, i met up with her at the hospital friday morning, i believe it was friday morning, and we had a nice little reunion and talk, but we haven't talked since then, but you know, about every little girl in our town knows who this girl is, so i'm sure i'll see haryn, and i hope to continue some sort of relationship. >> that's pretty great. >> she would have been donezo. >> is that something you use a lot? >> that's got to be surfer lingo. >> you are a hero. thank you for joining us. >> good to see you, zeb.

besides that, we tried to do whatever we could. >> they beat that man unconscious. by the way, notice, they hear gunfire. most people say runs, these americans said go. >> went right toward him. tony sadler, a senior at sacramento state, alek skarlatos, a national guardsman, and spencer stone, air force service member who we didn't get a picture of him yesterday but here he is now. he wasn't in the video because he was still recovering in the hospital. >> neck cut by a box cutter. and, by the way, they'll meet with the french president today and the french people honoring these brave americans who are potentially disrupting a massacre. he had 500 rounds on him and one one of those clips didn't go, dropped to the ground, he tried to fire two more bullets into the head of spencer stone. the gun didn't go off. his mom described it as divine intervention. here is a quote from spencer stone's mom. i feel like they had divine intervention and they were saved

because the gun was at stone's head and the terror suspect tried to shoot twice and it didn't go off. then he reached for the box cutter. >> it's really unbelievable. you think when hollande meets with these guys, he will learn something. there is something different in the american character. again, these are the men who ran toward gunfire. they didn't run away. >> and thank you for correcting me because i think i said french president, prime minister, today. hillary clinton, meanwhile, is on damage control. her campaign dealing with all this negative momentum. she was out in the hamptons on vacation and according to "the new york times" this morning sort of scrambling to get back on the campaign trail to try to alleviate some of these negative poll numbers. you see the big campaign crowds that are gathered by bernie sanders right now, tens of thousands of people showing up in seattle and arizona, california, and hillary clinton out relaxing in the hamptons. >> wait, she's coming back from the hamptons? that is pulling the rip cord. that's an emergency measure. break glass in case of emergency. >> she is a woman of the people. most people like her reportedly

staying in a home for $100,000. heading to the midwest to start campaigning instead. this has her off message. people are not listening to her messaging about being a hard-working american and she's your biggest advocate. they're thinking more about this fbi investigation and watching her trustworthiness numbers go way down. >> it is a total morass turn after turn she has made unequ unequivocal statements, i did do this, i didn't do that, and at every turn people with superior knowledge say, wait a second, you're not telling the truth. this is a tweet hillary clinton sent out. she says this, from a former justice department official, quote, ridiculous classification rules are the real problem. in other words, i did nothing wrong. it's the system that's broken. >> first it was i didn't have anything classified on there and then it was, well, i didn't e-mail anything classified at the time, and now, well, these overclassification rules. that's the real problem. it's not me. it's the law that's wrong. >> you listen to the clinton

campaign spokespeople firing back saying now that you've received e-mails from hillary clinton or those e-mails that you're investigating, those were once classified, now they're listed as unclassified, you may also have some problems here. the system is broken, they say. meanwhile, military this morning firing back. lieutenant colonel james williamson firing back to that tweet that tucker just read and he said this. it's not up to her to decide what level it's classified at. it's up to her to obey the law, and clearly she did not. if someone doesn't have the sense to recognize classified material, they shouldn't be in such a sensitive position much less secretary of state. >> let's be honest, the secretary of state by definition deals with classified material, not occasionally, constantly. constantly. a huge percentage of the tiny number of e-mails the inspector generals have looked at have been classified. of course. this is why previous secretaries of state didn't do this. this is why no other clinton cabinet official uses a private server. not one, only hillary clinton.

suspect and called for backup. the gunman opened fire when they arrived. the officer was hit in both legs, klein in the shoulder. both are considered nonlife threatening injuries. the suspect was shot by police. he later died. divers in helicopters frantically looking for a missing fisherman who fell into a lake in southern california. the 60-year-old was fishing with a friend when he fell in. the friend tried to help him but was also pulled into the lake. he was able to swim to safety, but the other man is still nowhere to be found. authorities say both men were not wearing life jackets. here's a fun story. double panda-monium. our first look at the twin cubs born overnight to panda mei xiang. zoo workers say they didn't even know the 17-year-old was pregnant until a few days ago. when she gave birth to a second cub it was a double surprise. both babies and mama are healthy. the cubs' sex will not be announced until later. the names will come shortly

showing their patriotism or their heritage to the confederacy and it was causing some problems. a school district decided not to just ban the confederate flag but the american flag as well. the one exception you see is still on the flagpole at the school, so at least that's good. >> and then dickinson county direct osh of student services said this about what they're trying to do there. listen. >> this was not necessarily an attack on the american flag. there were some other issues we were trying to address. it's not an unpatriotic act by any means because we have a number of ways in which students do learn how to be patriotic and express american pride. we do have a responsibility to help our students understand citizenship, proper respect for the flag and what that might look like. >> students aren't happy about it, by the way. one of the high school seniors went on the record and talked to the local news station and here is what arianna had to say, a high school senior. >> if you want to fly a

next debate for september. we asked about hillary clinton when we talked to him. the governor said he's already looking forward to debating her on the stage in november. here is part of the interview. so you're a former prosecutor, of course. how would you evaluate hillary clinton's legal situation with her e-mails right now? >> i think she has some serious problems, tucker, on two fronts. first is was there obstruction of justice? did she delete e-mails or order them to be deleted when she was under subpoena from the house of representatives? secondly, the issue of classified information. did she mishandle classified information, and did members of her staff mishandle classified information? the law applies to hillary clinton whether she thinks they do or not. i'll tell you this, tucker, i'm looking forward to being the republican nominee and being on the stage next fall in 2016. she hasn't been cross-examined by a real prosecutor. when i get the chance to do that, the american people will

finally get some answers. >> you're in the middle of the finance triangle of america. should ordinary americans be worried about what's happening to the stock market in the last couple of days? >> you always have to be concerned when our stock market shows some weakness. we've been on an unprecedented run here. we don't have enough economic growth. it's weak and the american people know it. what they want is a president who is pro growth, who wants to cut taxes, get rid of loopholes, stop making it work for the rich. >> you believe the tax code is rigged for the rich? do you think that's true? >> yes, i do. >> how so? >> listen, because there's dozens upon hundreds of special loopholes and deductions that you can only get if you have a lobbyist. i say get rid of all those loopholes, deductions except for two. the mortgage deduction on your home and the charitable contribution deduction. we can lower rates, the top 8% is in the middle. economic growth in this country, if you can do the taxes in 15

today's top story, this morning we are learning about the islamic terrorist who opened fire on a paris bound train injuring three people. authorities now say the 26-year-old moroccan national was flagged a risk in three separate countries because he had been to syria to fight with isis. he was able though to walk on to a train with an automatic weapon and open fire. what does this story tell us? joining us now is senator lindsey graham. it's great to see you. thanks for coming on. >> thank you, tucker. >> this guy was floating around europe like other people like him. is there a lesson here about immigration policy? europe has a lot of people like this. what should we learn from it? >> not so much about immigration policy as that terrorism is on the rise. western passport holders that go to syria and come back to europe and eventually the united states to attack us. so what i would do as president is i would hit them in syria.

tenderloin. it's a steakhouse staple. it's really tender. doesn't matter how you cut it. it's going to be tender. it has fine muscle fiber. very little collagen. it comes from the animal that doesn't get used and that determines how tough it will be. it's really expensive. doesn't have a ton of flavor. this is a new york strip. this is a great steak. doesn't get used very much. fine muscle fibers. doesn't make a huge difference how you cut it. here we get into steaks cheaper, really great flavor. it pays to cut them the right way. >> because -- this is like a cheetah steak. >> it's from a cheetah cow. this is a skirt steak and flank steak. they come from the flank, which is the underbelly. this fine muscle fiber in these cuts, they are wide. you can launch into a grain. >> i would think i would cut it in half. >> so that's a good starting

point. >> we're going to eat this half now. we will save the rest for later. we will cut that in half. >> that's okay. that's fine. what we're going to do is -- there's two different ways. cut with the grain and you can kuts cut across the grain. cut across the grain, shorten the muscle fibers into pieces easier to choose. it's not going to make a different here. in the test kitchen, we ran experiments. we have a piece of equipment to test how chewy something is. >> in the robotic mouth? >> yeah. cut two different ways. with and against. it turns out that it makes the steak five times more tender to cut it across the grain than cut with the grain. >> you can buy cheap steak and it will be soft? >> it will be better. absolutely. i have more over here. you want to see the difference in action? this is our tenderloin.

why is this happening? what does it mean for you? should you call your broker and scream sheell? what does -- should we be terrified? >> i don't think so. the truth is, we're all worried about an combhee that's slowing down. the worries recently really came out of china. the economy of china is falling down dramatically. for the longest time we would talk about that china was the growth engine of the world. we all wanted to sell our wares to the people in china. now we see that actually, it's slowing down. that's going to impact companies here. that's going to impact jobs and growth. the worries about the global economy and -- they are real worries. >> worries about rate. will we see an increase of rates? what will this mean for housing market, people trying to decide whether they should sell their home this time of year? it's a perfect time to sell or buy a home. >> it's connected. the federal reserve meets next month, september 16th.

the word is that they want to get off of the zero interest rate policy they have been on. they want to raise rates. if the federal reserve raises rates now while we have a very, very frajgile recovery, that ma set us back. there's a debate whether the fed will raise rates. i think it's perhaps pushed out to december. next week we have the gdp report. that's going to give us a very important reminder and window into what's going on in this economy. >> your show starts in a few minutes. >> i have governor casey coming on. i will start our interview with asking him what this means, this global market sell-off. i believe people should nots be worried. then we go into his policies. how do you move the needle on wages? wages haven't moved. then we get into markets and allocating capital and get into the global sell-off. he is the president of u.s. trust. they have about $200 billion under management.
