he said, it's not off the table and so right now, the rnc is actually trying to get all the candidates to sign a pledge indicating that they would not run as a third party and if they would in fact support the nominee. and he's meeting with donald trump in new york city and i'm not sure his signature will land on the page. >> good news is jeb bush says he'll sign it and so governor kasich said he'll sign it. trump has indicated before, maybe that changes when i rule out a third party, maybe it doesn't. he said, yeah, i'll do it but let's do it in a trump way. we have a meeting, i don't admit that we're discussing this in the meeting and then as everyone is thinking about labor day, i take over the news cycle just in time. >> and i'll spin the meeting as i want to spin it at the end of

the day. the party is using the leverage it has. when i came back from afghanistan, i ran as a candidate briefly for the republican indorsement. and there was a lot of pressure, that's the pressure the party has. and here with donald frumtrump. they're doing what they can when they can. >> and he's going why would i give up the leverage? >> and i think this would be the perfect time to do it. >> if he wanted to lead as a third party candidate there and try to take votes there, he says it could lead to sanctions against him if he is quote a sore loser. watch. >> if you're present wouzensent piece of paper and all the candidates sign it and say, we're not going to play spoiler at the end, we don't want hillary clinton to win it, so

we're going to suck up and do it, if trump says no, this starts the question of do they bring sanctions against him? and it could really be the beginning of a pretty significant skizm in the republican party, so hillary clinton is doing a happy dance. >> there's a question of whether these are actually effective. and previous candidates, john anderson in 1980, and was able to run as a 3rd party candidate. and it's not clear whether those laws would present a third party. >> because it may not fall under the sore loser laws. they appoint a delegate to pak vote. >> and we'll see what happens. mean time, let's talk football. so, there's one coach coming

hi, a decades old cold case just turned red hot. 32 years after the bazar death of his girlfriend, jimmy super fly snuka is accused of badly beating his girlfriend in a pennsylvania motel room and then leaving her to die.

prosecutors say it was snuka's autobiography that helped restart the case. and here now with more is forensic expert and attorney, jennifer bearrebarrenjure. he had changed his story when she came back dead and it comes back to bite him. how does something like this get so much attention? >> actually, i was surprised as well. his book came out in 2012 and i think he made the mistake of telling all these conflicting stori stories. the autopsy report didn't bear it out because there was no gravel or dirt in the injuries. so, it clearly happened in the hotel room and during the book, he said all sorts of other things and he made mention that he thought the police were star

struck and it may have made them angry. who knows. >> definitely, this is a time where it seems everyone on the wwf was on steroids and dying of heart attacks, the ultimate warrior and things like that. you have an autobiography and a story from the 1980s. furenzicall forensically what are you looking for? >> it's a very interesting case. usually it's dna that breaks the cold cases. in this case, he did it to himself. and all they will need to do is reexamine the autopsy report. i'm shocked that they didn't arrest him at the time. it was conclusively homicide, he was there regardless of the story and frankly, he just didn't get arrested at the time. >> and what's next?

washington d.c. says she has a way to end the city's homeless problem, put them in hotel rooms. according to new documents obtained by the washington post, our nation's capital plans to make help available all year round. is this the right fix or a waist of taxpayers money? good morning to you both. steven, i'll start with you. your thoughts on this program? >> first, let's applaud the mayor and folks in d.c. homelessness is an issue and they're trying to combat it. and a lot of times we need to take off our partisan blinders and take a look at the statistics. 40% of homeless males are veterans. almost 30% are homeless because

they're fleeing domestic abuse situations. so, these are folks left really in the lurch with nowhere to turn and it takes a concerted effort both from the religious, nonprofit communities, and local, state and federal governments to take an active roll in this. it's going to be an interesting program moving forward. as we try to combat this serious issue. >> i think anyone with a heart hears those statistics. and we know the va have a plan to end homelessness. and do you feel this is the government's responsibility? >> there's all kind of tough situations. half a century ago, the federal government declared war on poverty and when it's not the

government that declared war, they always end up losing. we spent 7 plus trillion theres on poverty and i thought the homeless problem would have been sau solved long ago by government. and indefinitely, in government, it means permanent in english. this is just going to be another government program that lasts forever. and the closest thing to terminal life is a government program. they set aside some money in the budget. i'm sure it won't end up being enough. the initial cost estimates are always way, way under what they always cost. the least efficient executer on anything in the planet is government and we should be

innocent bystanders in danger? and here is the executive director of the accountability project. well, tell me this, is this not sheer harassment by groups who don't believe in these gun laws? >> i think we have an issue where we have a lot of gun laws where there are states more lax than others. and some of the background checks are a little bit looser and you don't have the mental health screening and i think this is really about citizen policing and being around of your neighborhood round you. we have one mass shooting a day. >> so does that mean you think someone openly carrying in a state where it's legal? >> in many states where there is open carry, there are lax gun laws.

>> so, if you're in one of those states, should you automatically call in? >> if you feel like someone is going to personally effect your well being, then call the police. and we're talking about people who physically feel -- >> but the constitution isn't different out west than it is on the east. they're saying, if you see a weapon, call the police. people are liking it to s.w.a.t.ing, if you call police on people for activities that you don't like. what's the difference? >> if someone is walking round and if a police officer shows up, they'll say, it's not a threat and that's how it works. it's better to, if you feel physically threatened, to call police. >> in an era in which

individuals are being allowed to carry loaded guns on our streerk streets, it's commonsense for concerned citizens to call 911. they're not talking bute threat here. they're talking about maybe you look at them and you think something is off. how can private citizens be make that call and call the police? >> well, they're not making the call, the police are making the call. >> well, they're making the phone call. >> that's how much of new york citizen policing has improved the safety of the community. and part of that is because, you know, listen, we have one mass shooting a day in america today and a lot of it has to do with mental illness and if we're going to have this question, then it's up to the community to say -- >> well, we've heard about the

war on cops. there's a lot of legitimate things going on. this seems to me like a waist of resources. if everyone who is against gun laws is calling every time they perceive a threat. >> 27 children die a day in america because of america. >> so, are the guns pulling that trigger? >> it's gun violence. and many people who are criticizing gun control groups saying we need mental illness screening, a lot of it is to be aware of what's around us. are you saying we should turn a blind eye? >> well, seeing a gun isn't saying you're seeing a threat. it's a debate that will continue. coming up, are terrorists from gitmo headed to south carolina? the pentagon is looking into it but not if senator tim scott has anything to say about it and
