what's ahead. >> good morning heather and ainsley. we are tracking areas of rain heavy at times across the northern, central plains and parts of the midwest. i want to start out with the temperatures. you mentioned it feels like fall out there in many areas. one of those across the great lakes where temperatures are only in the 50's chicago and cleveland a lot cooler as we head into parts of maine and northern new england. temperatures only in the 40's. southwest not bad at all 60's and 70's currently. feels like summer across portions of the plains. we are expecting temperatures well into the 90's. meanwhile across parts of the southwestern u.s. we continue to see the threat of flash flooding as couple of moisture sparks showers and storms across parts of new mexico. >> 10 minutes after the top of the hour. emotions explode in a boston

two people are in the hospital with severe burns. pieces of wood all that remain of the house in waxahachie, texas. the blast was felt 10 miles away. neighbors leaping in action pulling the two residents out of the rubble. >> she was trapped inside her kitchen. she was under roof, debris. we got in there and got her out. >> nothing short of a miracle that nobody was killed in this. >> good point. officials are trying to determine if a gas leak was to blame for this. residents have been evacuated diven knitly. the pilot was able to eject in time and parachute safely down to the ground. the plane went down in a dirt field a few miles from the naval air station. no word yet on what caused the crash. >> heroic service dog blocked from boarding a plane after

airline employees thought he was a fake. marine vet captain jason hag and his dog axle were about to head home when an american airlines employee refused to let him on the plane because he didn't have paperwork to prove that he is a service dog. axle had just been named the 2015 service dog of the year. well, they both flew home a day later. the airline has since apologized to axle and hague. they were on "fox & friends" back in july when axle became the service dog of the year. >> oktoberfest is about drinking and dancing, and as the world tries to emulate what happens in munich, jesse waters joins new york city's celebration, top politics and history. it is water -- watters' world oktoberfest edition.
