construction site. this morning, look at this. it is truly fit for a pope. this is the largest catholic church in the united states. 29,000 people will be sitting in the seats just outside of the basilica for the first ever canonization match to be held on u.s. soil. this is the first time pope francis had ever been to the united states. he touched down yesterday in a commercial airplane at joint base andrews where he was greeted by the obamas. he left in a fiat. his choice. for the few hundred lucky souls who got to witness this, it will be something they will never forget. >> i had to see it because he's a people's pope. i am from washington, d.c. born and raised. very patriotic. i could not leave this historic event out either.

>> pope francis' first stop will be a welcome ceremony at the white house. he will have a one-on one meeting with the president. the people parade in the pope mobile along the national mall followed by a midday prayer with the u.s. bishop. the pope will celebrate mass at the basilica. this is a canonization mass where a catholic miss nature refrom the 1700s will become a saint. the first canonization mass in the u.s. it is something the archbishop of washington cardinal eluded to, this is being held in a church. many times a mass celebrated by the pope can't be held in a church due to the size of the crowd. they have actually built an extension an elaborate extension outside of the port co at the basilica so they can accommodate 20,000 people. the first canonization mass is

held at such a sacred site is going to make this cysthistoric moment even more special. >> the people's pope is calling politics. he may have given the impression of being a little more to the left. it would not be correct. the pontiff placed controversy for what they perceived as pushing a liberal agenda. pope francis also told reporters the doctrine on economics is strictly the doctrine of the catholic church. >> the papal visit sparking security concerns as police warn spectators could also face some threats. this comes as isis propaganda magazine singles out the pontiff as the crusader pope. analysts say while that label is
