harlen crow. he has one of the biggest collections of memorabilia in the world. it includes items from the third reich including stuff from hitler. schultz used that collection to smear rubio, quote: rubio is holding this event on the eve of the holiest day of the jewish calendar yom kippur. holding an event in a man who dedicated his life to extinguishing the jewish people is is the height of insensitivity and indifference. there is really no excuse for such a gross act of disrespect. mr. rubio, who by the way represents a sizeable jewish population in our home state of florida should cancel this tasteless fundraiser it is astounding that these items represent more lore for jews the world over would not stop anyone in their tracks when planning this event. what is truly astounding is the woman's ignorance. i have been to harlan crow's home and i have seen his

collection of history. it's amazing. any museum would be proud to display what he has. but good and evil are represented in an educational way. there are documents and letters from crucial moments in american history as well as world history. they include items from villains such as hitler, stahlian, tojo and saddam hussein. if you follow wasserman schultz's positioning no could hold in museum in london. her take is insane. by attacking rubio using the holocaust head of the has shamed herself and her party. she should immediately resign. there comes a point when politics gets so dirty it corrupts the nation. we are at this point. it's not just the democrats who are using despicable tactics, although they seem to embrace them at a very high level. some republicans are comfortable using falsehood and innuendo to smear liberals. when talking points sees that from the g.o.p., it

will be reported. summing um, there is no place for defamatory deceit in any political campaign. presidential race now underway has the potential to get very nasty, and we will fight against that. we begin with debbie wasserman schultz this evening. and that's the memo. now for the top story tonight, reaction, joining us for reaction is senator marco rubio. so, when you heard the head of the dnc say these things and use the holocaust to attack you, exactly what she did, how did you react? >> well, it didn't surprise me i have been watching debbie wasserman schultz for years in florida. extremism she does these types of things. i was outraged this is a private individual who participates in the political process who anyone who knows him for two minutes he realizes he is not a nazi sympathizer. is he a collector. his woman survived an attack under the nazis. it is despicable attack.

do you know what the evidence of that is? even liberal media outlets have criticized her for doing that don't expect an apology. they just move on. they don't feel like they are accountable to anybody for it i think it is also indicative of the levels of desperation. their frontrunner is in a lot of trouble as we have been seeing in the news over the last few days. this is a further sign of that sort of desperation. panic, really. >> all right. but you yourself. did you anticipate this level of hatred because i think it's going to get worse. i really do. i see this as probably the dirtiest campaign in the history of the country, did you anticipate it yourself? >> well, i have been watching as politics has gone in this direction, anyone who enters this knows you are susceptible to being attacked. i put my faith in the judgment of american people had who see through these sorts of attacks. here is the truth. debbie wasserman schultz should be concerned about the fact that she decided to side with her party and put israel in danger.

she is in favor of and voted for and enthusiastic supporter of this deal with iran that will give the iranian regime do things like wipe israel off the face of the earth as the ayatollah has said he wants to do. when he said, for example, israel won't even exist in 25 years. that's what really matters. she didn't care about that instead she is playing these sorts of vicious political games. i think she only hurts herself and their cause. >> it will be interesting to see if that's the case. the story has been underreported so outrageous and high level ahead of the dnc we had to report it tonight. new bloomberg poll has trump 21, ben carson 16. jeb bush 13. that's different from the fox poll. he is at 7 in the fox poll. carlie for that is 11 and you are at 9. everybody else is kind of out of it at this point. when governor walker quit, in his remarks he said that he hopes all of the remaining candidates will

join together to defeat trump. what did you think when he said that? >> well, what i think is we need to have someone who is a serious person. someone who is serious about the future of our country. someone who understands the thats -- challenges that we face. it's not about us individually. it's about the united states of america. both geo lily and with our economy. we need to have someone who has real thoughts. >> are you saying mr. touch doesn't have those real thoughts. >> i think when the debate turned to policy he stood still. that's wife he had a bad debate and acting the way he is and continuing to offend anyone who criticizes him. he is thin skinned and sensitive to criticism. he can't have a conversation about policy because quite frankly he doesn't know anything about policy. his foreign policy apparently is a secret. he can't tell us because he doesn't want to reveal it to the enemy. >> it's not really a secret. i put forth that he has been good for the republican party, trump, in general

well, first of all, i would say that, you know, if anybody listened to that interview, i said quite clearly that anyone, it doesn't matter who they are and what their religion is, if they ascribe to american values rand willing to place our constitution above their religious beliefs, i have no problem with them. >> okay. and i have the transcript. did you say that. but you also said, i would not advocate that we put a muslim in charge of this nation. so, if you said i would not advocate we put a catholic in charge of the nation as some people did, when al-ran

for president and kennedy or i don't advocate we put a jewish person in the white house. you would get the same outcry, probably more outcry. so do you see the point of the other side? >> no. i you wouldn't advocate that we put a christian in there either if their agenda was a theocracy. if they were not willing to subject their religious beliefs to the constitution. i would not advocate for them either. not specifically about a muslim. >> this whole thing is loaded. it's loaded. and i want to point out to the audience in case they didn't see your interview with msnbc, this came after the trump was questioned in new hampshire where the guy said you know there is muslim training camps and obama is a muslim and trump didn't say anything to him one way or the other so then they brought this to you. number one, do you think the question you were asked by the nbc guy was meant to trip you up?

do you believe the question was meant to be loaded and put you in a bad spot? >> whether it was or not, i don't mind answering the question. i'm not a politician i'm not going to be looking for the politically correct answer. this is america. values and principles. i'm not willing to subject gate that to another belief system, to another philosophy. this is america. if you want to live in another system, go somewhere else. you are welcome to be here, but no one else gets to change who we are. >> okay. >> i'm finding that that is resonating with the american people. we are very welcoming people, but we are not willing to change who we are. then are the tenets of islam as described in the koran, do they line up with the tenets of judeo-christian

philosophy that the founding fathers used to forge the constitution, our laws and our nation? tenets of islam, judeo-christian philosophy. do they line up together? >> i don't believe that they do. when i look at islamic nations, what i see are people who don't give women equal rights. and some places women aren't even allowed to drive. >> but that's political, not religious though. i know they use the religious as an excuse but in some muslim nations like morocco you don't have that. it depends on the politics of the country, does it not? >> the fact that a person has a muslim background that doesn't bother me at all. i know lots of people with muslim background who are fully assimilated into america and accept american values and accept our constitution. i don't have any problem with that. but this question was asked of me in the context of me having already said that, which would implaintiff's

exhibit that you are talking about -- implicate that you are talking about somebody who doesn't share those values. >> it's an intellectual argument that the press and i don't even know if the imams heard what you said. on the subject of this, you attended the pope's speech in front of congress today. there was some allusions to immigration do you believe the pope was espousing open borders in that speech? did you take that away? >> i had a difficult time from the chamber hearing him and i didn't have a transcript and understanding what he was saying. but, you know, hopefully what he is saying is that, you know, immigration is a good thing. and it strengthens nations and we are all immigrants if you go back far enough. i have no problem with that. we have a very excellent, you know, system of legal immigration. we accept more immigrants, i believe, than any other place. so you are preaching to the choir if you are talking here about immigration. >> yeah, i'm going to read the transcript of the pope's

taken aback by their numbers but rather view them as persons seeing their faces and listening to their stories trying to respond as best we can to their situation. to respond in a way which is always humane, just, and fraternal. joining us now from washington, two congressman who heard the pope speak today. tim hosecamp and arepublican and henry, a democrat. so, i will begin with you, did the pope appeal for open borders with that statement, do you think? >> i don't think he did. i think what he talked about was we have to have something that's just

humane. i believe in immigration reform but that doesn't mean we should have open borders. just something that we can treat people with respect, like he said we were all foreigners at one time. we have to have something humane how we treat people. >> okay. but i think in the united states, right now, we do treat immigrants both legal and illegal in a humane manner. i mean, 12 million people are in here that shouldn't be, and many of them are working. over 50% of those families are on some kind of government assistance. so, are we not treating them in a humane way? >> well, i slightly disagree with you, with your premise there, but, still, nevertheless, you know, we still have to make sure that we secure our borders, do it in a humane way and just way. >> i think we are doing it in a humane way. i don't know what the beef is. i don't know whether the pope has a beef or he was

just speaking fiskly. what do you philosophically. >> i think we are the most inviting country in the world that's what the pope addressed we are a nation of immigrants. son of immigrants himself. i think he was giving an plymouth to the american people. >> if he was, he didn't do it in a direct way. but the word just struck me in his presentation among immigrants would ever advocate breaking the law. justice means you obey the law if the law is just. and i think immigration law is just. although a lot of people would disagree with that the second thing i was very interested to see is the family. yet, i cannot hide my concern for the family, which is threatened, perhaps as never before from within and without. fundamental relationships are being called into question as is the basis of marriage and the family. i can only reiterate the

importance and above all the richness and beauty of family life. so why do you think that the pope, believes the family is threatened? >> well, you know, certainly he does see the family being threatened and, again, how we see that threat a lot of the times depends the political boxes that we put ourselves in. >> how do you see the threat? >> well with, let me finish. so, he did talk about that. he talked about the importance of family, and protecting life from the beginning to the end. that was my interpretation. and, family is certainly something that we have to make sure. >> i don't understand what the threat is; what is the threat? he was very adamant there is threat to the family. in your opinion, sir. what is that threat? >> okay. again, in my -- my opinion on this, when he talks about threat to the family, it starts from the very beginning when he talks about abortion. or it's the threat of making sure that people have the

food and the security that they have. the threat to the family starts at the beginning to the very end and we have got to take care of the unborn all the way to the time they are elderly. >> mr. elsecamp how do you see the threat? >> the vatican and particularly today the holy father understands radical he redefinition of the family any type of pairing or grouping is destructive to the family. he also made reference to the issue of life. and he also referenced how the culture is declining, how it den greats the family and how public policies pull back from the family. >> do you see it as a slap against gay marriage legalization? >> oh, absolutely. the church is not going to change its position, even as much as the liberal media would like to change it's going to change. it's not. those are one of the unchanging truths about the church. >> i mean, look, he has been very sympathetic to homosexuals the pope has. i did take it that way too he doesn't want traditional marriage being redefined. i also took it this way, more than 70% of babies are born out of wedlock in the

black precincts in america. and it's approaching, i think auto% of all babies in america. and, you know, fathers not there. i mean, it's a disintegrations of the family. is that not what the pope is concerned about? >> again, your particular perception, one particular -- one viewpoint to receive. again, the word to the pope transcends the different interpretations that we have. the important thing is, no matter where you stand or i stand or jim stands, we have got to have a dialogue, to. >> that's why we are doing this segment. i will tell you what, i like the pope, i think he is a good man. i just wish he would talk a little straighter. but i know that's not his job. that's my job and you guys do that, too. >> i think we are going to hear that in philly as well. we will talk about. >> you have got to lay it on the line a little bit more. got to lay it on the line a little bit more or the family is going to continue in this country to disintegrate. congressman, thank you very

factor follow up segment tonight, new fox news poll on the political landscape. likely republican voters come down this way, 26% support donald trump, 18% ben carson. 9% marco rubio and car carlie foreign i can't: with us dana blend, vice president of public research at fox news channel. what surprised you the most in this latest poll? >> it was the number of republicans who told us that they feel betrayed by their party. it's a little bit different question than we usually ask because it's typical to ask do you approve or disprove

of the leaders in your party and we're used to seeing republicans, more republicans saying they disprove. this is stronger than that. 62% say they feel betrayed by the politicians. >> is there a why? why do they feel betrayed? >> right. we asked another question just of g.o.p. primary voters and we say, you know, the majority is in congress. do you feel like they have done all that they could to stop or reverse president obama's agenda? two thirds said no. the dissatisfaction extends from the fact that barack obama has gotten through legislation they feel the republicans should have blocked? >> right. >> this is driving them to go. >> to donald trump? >> outsiders. >> and carson. >> right. >> now, trump is down a little bit but not much. bloomberg came out today and he is still pretty strong and carson maintains a pretty strong second, right? >> right. in our poll we compare to right after our fox debate to now, after the cnn debate. and so we have trump just up

1 point. so he is kind of holding steady. carson went up 6 points. >> and carly fiorina, also, right? >> right. >> she is up? >> fiorina and rubio who they got great scores in the debate for their. >> they did well? >> right. >> so i would look at it, if we add together the outsiders. >> yep. >> in the poll, more than half of g.o.p. primary voters are voting for an outsider. >> now, the debate itself, who are the big losers in the debate? >> the big losers? i would say really the only one that got kind of a double digit, you know, did the worst job score is trump. donald trump. and fiorina just did great compared to everyone else. she got double digit, best. when we do the net woman man's she got over 40%. >> fiorina won, trump lost it didn't hurt his poll numbers very much? >> right. >> his constituency is loyal. jeb bush at 7% though, that's not good, right?

>> it's about half where he was. >> half? >> a couple of months ago he at one time was a frontrunner. he doesn't get great scores on the debate. obviously he is considered an establishment candidate. >> right. right. >> hillary clinton declining still, right? >> yes. she is at her lowest number we have seen. she is down to 44% in our new poll. she was at 61% just a couple months ago back in june. >> is there a why behind that? >> well, we are looking at the rise of vice president joe biden. >> yeah. >> he got double the number that he got in our previous poll. even though he hasn't announced. if you take him out of the mix. she is still is, you know,. >> biden takes away. you also asked if mrs. clinton lied about the email, right? >> right. so, nearly six in ten americans overall say yes, she is lying about how she handled her emails. among democrats though. just a third think that she is lying. >> only 33% feel she is lying. >> right. right. >> so biden gets in, things are going to tighten
